Ayla meets Synergy 2/2

(Ayla's POV)

*It's been a few weeks since me & my friends met Synergy. My family has asked me questions about my new watch, but I just told them that Tyler, Izzy, & Jake gave it to me as a late birthday present, which they bought. Other than training with Synergy & , the only exciting thing that's happened was Polly suddenly going missing. Nobody knew how, but he somehow had gotten out through the backdoor, which had been left open*

(Third-Person POV)

*It turned out Sonic had accidentally left the backdoor open when he came back from a run & Polly flew out*

(Ayla's POV)

*Grammie was getting really worried. Polly had been a present to her from her husband on their 50th wedding anniversary & she's kept it by her side ever since he passed away. She mostly sits by Polly's stand & stares at it. She hasn't even been in the kitchen, which is a bit of a relief for all of us. But we still want to find Polly, because none of us like seeing her sad*

(Third-Person POV)

*Meanwhile, Horace & Jasper, who still had their truck parked outside Tilly's Dairy Barn, were thinking up a plan to capture Ozzy & use him to steal the diamond*

Horace: Why don't we call the Sheriff and tell him that we'll blow up his house if he doesn't give us the dog?

Jasper: No, you lunk! That'll just make him come after us! We need to be inconspicuous.

*Horace nodded, but then looked confused*

Horace: Uh . . . What's inconspicuous?

Jasper: Just keep your eyes open for the - *just then, he noticed something. it was Polly on top of a stop sign. that's when he got an idea* Horace, look! That's the bird that belongs to the Sheriff's Mom. Go grab it!

Horace: But I thought we wanted the dog.

Jasper: Oh, but the bird will be easier to grab and we can use the bird as dog bait.

Horace: Oh. Good thinking, bro. *he got out of the truck & rip tied towards the parrot. then he grabbed the bird & jump in* I got it! *Polly bit him on the finger* OW!

Jasper: Hurry up! Get in! *Horace got in the truck* Alright! Now let's get that dog! *he pointed his finger at Polly* You're gonna help us get very rich, you ugly little ball of feathers. *then Polly bit him on the finger* OW!

(Ayla's POV)

*The next morning, my friends & I were putting up missing posters for Polly all over town. Grammie had even offered up a reward of $40. She wanted to go higher, but Tom talked her out of it, saying he didn't need the whole town going into a greedy frenzy*

Izzy: Wow. Your Grandma loves her parrot that much? Our Mom didn't do anything like this when our cat, Princess Fussy Pants, got loose.

Ayla: Yeah, well, he's - *I realized when she just said & gave her & Tyler a weird look* Princess Fussy Pants?

Tyler: Uh . . . Our Mom named him.

Ayla: Whatever. He's not just a parrot, he's her constant companion. He's never left her side until now. We've gotta find him soon. I've been hearing Grammie crying at night and it's really heartbreaking.

Jake: Don't worry. I'm sure he's around here somewhere. I doubt any pet parrot could get very far, let alone survive in the wild.

(Third-Person POV)

*What nobody knew was that Polly was in a cage in Horace & Jasper's truck. They were both eating were eating take-out Chinese food*

Horace: Now that we have our bait, we can go fishing.

Jasper: We're after a dog, idiot. We have set a trap for the dog.

Horace: Oh.

*He picked up a piece of carrot with his chopstick & went to give it to Polly*

Jasper: Hey!

*Horace jumped & dropped the carrot*

(Ayla's POV)

*The next day, my friends & I were walking around town, still looking for Polly. We met up with everyone else back at the house*

Ayla: Any luck?

Tom: Nope. Did you check the park?

Tails: Yes. Twice.

Tom: The grocery store?

Maddie: Yes. I even asked around, but nobody's seen him.

Knuckles: I investigated the junkyard and he wasn't there.

Ayla: Knux, I doubt any parrot would want to go there.

Sonic: I searched the whole forest around town, but I came up with zilch.

Tails: I also didn't find anything when I flew above the town in the Tornado.

Tyler: What if we're too late, and a cat got to him first?

Izzy: Ty! Don't say that!

Jake: Izzy's right. He could be anywhere and someone's bound to have seen something.

Ayla: I suggest we take a break for lunch and then go back to searching.

All: Right.

(Third-Person POV)

*Meanwhile, Horace & Jasper were driving down the street in their truck in the back, Polly was singing "It's a Small World After All" over & over again, which was driving them crazy*

Jasper: Can't you do something to shut that bird up!?

Horace: What do you want me to do? Teach it how to sing "Worth it by Fifth Harmony?"

Jasper: Well, if that bird doesn't shut up soon, I'm gonna - *just then, he noticed something* Wait! *Horace stopped the truck* Look. *it was Wade, walking down the street with Ozzy on his leash* There's the dog! And the Sheriff is nowhere in sight! After them!

Horace: Right!

*They followed Wade down the street until he got to a Convenience Store. Then he tied Ozzy to a pole & went inside*

Jasper:. Now's our chance.

*He got out of the truck, went to the back, & opened it. Horace was holding a donut over Polly, while he was in his cage*

Horace: Okay, birdie. Now sing.

*Polly started singing "It's a Small World After All" again*

Jasper: Oh no.

*Ozzy's head turned towards the sound. He started walking towards the back of the truck*

Note: His leash is retractable.

Jasper: It's working!

*Ozzy poked his head in & saw Polly in the cage, singing, with Horace next to it*

Horace: Hey, Doggie. You know this bird?

*Ozzy barked. While he was distracted, Jasper unhooked his leash, pushed Ozzy into the truck, & closed the door*

Jasper: We got it! *he got in the front seat* We're in the homestretch now, Horace!

*Horace drove away, them laughing. That's when Wade came out of the store with a bottle of soda. That's when he noticed Ozzy was gone*

Wade: Ozzy?

*As he looked around, he saw Horace & Jasper's truck driving away*

(Ayla's POV)

*When we all got home, we were met with even more bad news from Wade*

Sonic: What do you mean you lost Ozzy!?

Wade: I don't know! I know I left him on his leash when I went into the store, but when I came out, he was gone.

Ayla: So you just left him outside alone!?

Wade: You make it sound so cruel . . .

Tom: Okay, okay, let's all just calm down. Wade, do you remember seeing anything strange when you came out of the store?

Wade: Just that truck with a toilet on top, but that could be anywhere by now.

Tails: Maybe not. *we all turned to him* I bet if I can hack into the town security cameras, I can find out where the truck is.

Sonic: Good thinking, Tails.

*Maddie got her laptop & let Tails use it. After typing for a bit, he was able to locate the truck*

Tails: There! It's on Trapello Road!

Tom: That's on the way to the Town Hall.

Ayla: Is there an exhibition to show off the world's biggest diamond going on there?

*That's when it hit all of us*

Sonic: So that's it! They must've grabbed Ozzy so he can get past security and the diamond for them.

Ayla: And I'll bet you anything they're using Polly to blackmail him into doing it. We all know those two are good friends.

Grandma Wachowski: Oh, my poor Polly!

Maddie: Don't worry, Mom. I'm sure they won't hurt Polly.

Knuckles: Those fiends! How dare they exploit Ozzy's weakness! I'll beat them so hard they'll wish they were never born!

Ayla: Knuckles, let's just focus on stopping them first. Then you can punch them as much as you want.

Knuckles: Alright . . .

Ayla: I'll call Tyler, Izzy, & Jake to come over and help.

Tom: Good. Now, let's go get Ozzy and Polly.

All: Right.

(Third-Person POV)

*Meanwhile, Horace & Jasper pulled up to the Town Hall & brought Ozzy & Polly inside, their cages covered by a tarp. The diamond was still there, surrounded by security lasers. Horace went to stand by the vent while Jasper took off the tarp, revealing Polly & Ozzy, who had a muzzle on his mouth. Jasper let Ozzy out of the cage & he turned to Polly*

Jasper: It's simple. If you want you and your little friend to go free, you just have to cooperate. Go!

*Ozzy whined & went up to the vent*

Horace: For you, it outta be a sinch. All you gotta do, is go to the other end of the tunnel and get the diamond.

*He opened the vent & Ozzy went in. He gave a thumbs up to Jasper. Ozzy walked through the vent & made it to the end the other side*

Jasper: Come on, puppy! Almost there! *Ozzy looked at Polly, then at the diamond, & back. Horace & Jasper motioned to Polly & Ozzy got the diamond. Horace & Jasper celebrated* Now come on back through the lasers. But don't touch!

*Ozzy stared at Polly, who was crawling his way to the cage latch. He slowly started to make his way through his lasers, distracting Horace & Jasper long enough for Polly to get free*

Jasper: Good, puppy-wuppy. Now bring us the jewel!

*Ozzy stopped just as Polly reached the latch. Then he started wagging his tail*

Horace & Jasper: No, no! No wagging! Stop!

*Then, as Ozzy was about to give them the diamond, Polly got free. Ozzy jumped over Horace & Jasper & ran after Polly, the diamond still in his mouth. Horace tripped reaching for him & touched the laser, setting off the alarm*

*The alarm woke up Ron, who been asleep in the security office*

Horace & Jasper: We're busted!

*They ran out of the room, bumping into Ron & knocking him over as they tried to get away*

*Ozzy ran down the street with Horace & Jasper after him. Eventually, he managed to lose them at the grocery store, behind the mini carousel that was outside. They got on. That when Ozzy dropped the diamond, picked up a quarter with his mouth & put it in the slot. Then he pressed the button with his paw, making the carousel go really fast. He made it go faster & faster until Horace & Jasper were dizzy. He was also a little dizzy watching them. Once it stopped he grabbed the diamond & ran away. Before they could go after him, Horace threw up all over Jasper's shirt*

Jasper: When I get my sight back, I'm gonna kill you for that. *then he saw Ozzy, all three of him* There he is!

*They went after him, though they were wobbly*

(Ayla's POV)

*We, along with Wade, Tyler, Izzy, & Jake, were on their way to Town Hall when they saw Ozzy run past us*

Tom: Ozzy!

*But he went right past us with two guys, one tall & tin & the other fat & short, right behind him*

Tails: Who are those guys?

Ayla: I'll bet you anything those two are the ones that kidnapped Ozzy*

Grandma Wachowski: Do you think they have Polly too?

Sonic: Only one way to find out. Let's go after them!

All: Right!

Tom: Wade, go to the station and get the car!

Wade: Got it!

*We all ran after them on foot, Sonic the going on ahead to get Ozzy*

(Third-Person POV)

*Back at Town Hall, Polly landed on Ron's head, who was still passed out*

Polly: Wakey-wakey!

*Ron woke up & grabbed his walkie-talkie*

(Ayla's POV)

Ron:*off-screen* Sheriff! Sheriff!

*Tom answered it*

Tom: Go ahead!

Ron:*off-screen* Sheriff! The diamond! The diamond has been stolen! It's two guys and a dog!

Tom: What!? *he looked ahead at Horace & Jasper* I'm in pursuit of the suspects now! Over!

Tails: When with the way their walking, their too fast!

Ayla: Not for long! *I held up by wristwatch to my mouth* Synergy, create a pack of hounds to make those mutts heal.

*A purple glow appeared in front of Horace & Jasper, creating a pack of German Shepherds, barking & growling at them. They stopped & screamed*

Horace: Go back! Go back!

*They tried to run back the other way, but stopped when they saw us closing in. Then they tripped over each other & fell on their backs. They looked up at us*

(Third-Person POV)

*To them, everything was still spinning*

Tom: Hold it right there!

Horace: They've got us surrounded!

*Grandma Wachowski was waving her umbrella at them, while the others stood over them, ready to pummel them*

Grandma Wachowski: You try it! You just try it!

Jasper: Oh, please stop the world from spinning!

(Ayla's POV)

*Once we let Knuckles have his fun beating them up, Wade pulled up in the police car. Then Tom handcuffed them & led them to the car*

Tom: Get in the car.

Jasper: No.

Horace: Get. In. The. Car!

*He pulled his brother in & Wade drove away with them. That's when Sonic arrived with Ozzy*

Sonic: I caught up with Ozzy just as he was running towards the football field. I caught him & brought him back here.

*Ozzy went up to Tom & dropped the diamond at his feet. He picked it up & petted Ozzy*

Tom: Good boy.

*We all gathered around Ozzy, giving him pets. That's when Ron arrived with Polly on his head*

Grandma Wachowski: Polly!

Polly: Grammie!

*He flew towards her & perched on her shoulder*

Grandma Wachowski: Oh Polly, I'm so glad to see you!

Polly: Squawk! I missed you.

Grandma Wachowski: Me too.

Maddie: Well, now that that's settled. *everyone turned to me, Tyler, Izzy, & Jake* Care to explain how you made those dogs appear out of nowhere?

*My friends & I flinched. Realizing that we now had a lot of explaining to do*

Ayla: Well . . . You see . . .

*Jake sighed*

Jake: No point is hiding it now. We might as well tell them the truth.

*Tyler Izzy, & I nodded*

*I took my family to the radio station & introduced them to Synergy. They were all shocked, but happy to meet her. Tails, of course, was geeking out over her hardware & reading her blueprints with sparkles in his eyes. Knuckles was little turned off by her holograms, thinking she was a witch using illusion magic. Sonic was thrilled, knowing she could be a big help in the future. Tom & Maddie were glad to have a new family who doesn't need to eat, since we already have six mouths to feed, seven counting Grammie. But anyway, I was happy to have met Synergy. I just know the two of us are going to great friends*
