Chapter XI: Abductions.
Last Time.
Naruto blinked as a W.O.O.H.P. helicopter came up with the clones and Macker in a net.
Jerry walked out as the others came down before the girls started pelting him with snowballs. "Girls! Girls, wait!"
"Get away from us, Jerry!"
"Girls, it's OK. We realize that you were only trying to clear your names." Jerry said before Clover narrowed her eyes.
"Oh, I guess we're lucky you figured it out before you gave us lobotomies."
"I hope you girls will accept my sincerest apology.
"Apology?" All three asked before Alex pointed at him.
"You'll be collecting your pension by the time you're done making this up to us."
They started pelting him with snowballs again.
Beverly Hills High School –10:35 AM.
Sam and Alex looked as Clover was talking to Naruto still dressed in her cowgirl outfit before walking over to go to the mall together.
Now.
Boston Museum Of Science –08:53 PM
Two men were walking to their rooms before a beam of light came down over each and they disappeared.
Beverly Hills High School –10:00 AM.
The bell rang as Naruto sat in the auditorium as the girls were standing outside, Clover wearing a bandana on her head, pink top, and capris chanting 'I'm going to get this role'.
"You shouldn't put so much pressure on yourself, Clover."
Sam wearing a green dress and dark green knee-high boots said to her.
"I'm not putting pressure on myself, I'm psyching myself out."
"And I'm just looking out for my best friend.
"Yeah, Clover." Alex raised a hand wearing an aqua blue button top, white skirt, and pink knee-high boots.
"Practically everyone in the school is auditioning."
"And Naruto's in it!" Clover raised a fist at that. "My character's opposite of his, I gotta get this part!" She finished as Mandy walked up with a script saying she was auditioning for the play as well.
Clover growled at that as Mandy walked away.
Inside, Alex and Sam sat on either side of Naruto as they watched Clover on stage, now wearing an old dress with patches.
"Oh Monsieur (Mister) Valjean, what ill fortune to be poor with no family." She said in a bad French accent. "I, uh… I even had to sell my car just to get enough to eat."
"Thank you, that'll be all." The teacher said as Sam and Alex stood to clap for their friend.
Only to stop as the teacher didn't choose her.
Later, the girls are in the dressing room as Clover is crying. "Clover, aren't you getting a little carried away? It's just a silly play." Alex said to her.
"That Naruto is in!"
"Clover you should be happy you missed the part." Sam knelt to talk to the sitting blonde. "I mean rehearsing over and over. 'Oh, Monsieur Valjean, what ill fortune to be poor with no family!' It sounds like a drag."
"That's it!"
They turned to see the teacher at the door smiling. "That was brilliant Samantha! You were born to play Cosette. And I won't take no for an answer."
Clover glared at Sam who blushed in embarrassment. "Uh, thanks a lot Mr. Tetley, But Clover should really get this part. You know, she's a very talented actress, plus…" She pulled Clover over and made her smile. "She has great teeth, see?"
"But Samantha, you've got the makings of a star," Tetley said to her.
Sam stood up at that. "No really, Clover's my girlfriend and-!"
"Perhaps even a Hollywood star!"
"When do rehearsals start?" Sam asked with a smile.
Later, the group is in class with everyone reading the script for Les Misérables. "I can't believe you traitor!" Clover hissed at Sm in front of her.
"It's not my fault I'm star material."
"You're just trying to get close to Naruto!"
"Cut it out, you guys!" Alex whispered to them. "You're supposed to be friends!"
She then blinked as Tetley walked up to them and smiled nervously. "Since you girls are in a good mood perhaps one of you can tell the class what you think the most dramatic scene in Les Misérables is?"
"Well, I for one think it's the scene in which Jean Valjean escapes through the Paris sewer."
They turned to a boy with fair skin, and glasses in a yellow suit and pink bow tie with a rather large head with two men in suits.
"Greetings my academic colleagues."
Naruto almost had to bite his tongue to keep from saying anything. "Oh, you must be Percival, the Chewbaccastan Ambassador's son," Tetley said as Percival sat down at a desk.
"Indubitably. Oh by the way, sir, I always felt to discuss Les Misérables in the context of a major strain in 19th Century literature emphasizing pauperization." Percival said to Tetley.
"An interesting theory, Percival, you should do just fine in tomorrow's quiz."
Alex stood up at that. "Quiz? What quiz?"
"The one on the first 10 chapters of Les Misérables… For those not in the play of course." Tetley replied causing Clover to glare at Sam.
Later, the four are in the hall as Alex is getting a drink from a vending machine. Sam and Clover face away from each other. "So, do you girls wanna go to the mall tonight?" Alex asks them.
"I would, but now I have a quiz to study for." Clover huffed glancing at Sam arms crossed. "You know ever since somebody stole my part in the play."
"How about you, Sam?" Alex asks the redhead.
"I have to go over my lines. You know what they say, the more practice, the more perfect."
Alex glanced at Naruto who shrugged. "I don't know what to say. When guys get like this we just duke it out and go back to being friends."
Suddenly, the floor opened up and they fell. They screamed as they fell through the tunnel and into the sewer. Landing into a speedboat Jerry's sailing, Sam falls into Naruto's lap. "See, I knew it!" Clover yelled at Sam before Naruto looked at Jerry.
"Perfect timing this time."
"Sorry spies, but it's an international emergency. You see, the annual Nobel Prize winners conference is going on today." A screen came up behind him as he continued. "The world's top scholars are there."
"International emergency? Sounds like an international snooze fest." Clover crosses her arms as she stands.
"Yeah, where can we not get tickets?" Alex asks resting her head on her hand.
"Obviously we needed to help them with something," Naruto spoke as he sat on the back couch.
"Precisely." Jerry then showed them security footage of men being abducted by the light. "As you can see by security footage, several prize winners have been mysteriously kidnapped. They must be found." He explains as Clover groans. "Did I mention the conference is in Paris?" A roof came up over them as they got outside and they flew up in the air. "And now the gadgets."
Several gadgets came up in front of them as Jerry continued. "This week we have steel cable launchers go-go boots, jet pack backpacks, infrared heat detector glasses, exploding lipsticks, and last but not least emergency propeller watches in vibrant spring colors. And Naruto with your shooters, you have the trip mines, suspension matrix capable of lifting foes for several minutes, and the spider-bot."
A red spider bot walked up and stopped on Naruto's left shoulder. "You can use that to record in another room… Oh, one more thing spies. Tomorrow, you'll have a surprise quiz in biology."
"(Gasp!) Two quizzes in one day?" Alex asks with a gasp. "That's totally unfair!"
"Unfair for some of us." Clovers muttered glancing over at Sam.
And missing Jerry putting on skydiving equipment. "Could you at least tell us what the test is on Jer?" Sam asked with a smile as Jerry looked back.
"I'm sorry Samantha, but it would be completely unethical of me to disclose that the test is covering chapter 10 on Cro-Magnum Man… Oops! Oh, would you look at the time, I've really gotta run, Ciao!" Jerry then gets up and jumps out of the jet as the others blinked.
"What the hell?"
Paris – Conference Hall, –04:30 PM.
The spies in disguises walked to the room all three of the girls wearing their glasses.
Naruto is wearing a black suit.
Sam's wearing a pink beret with her glasses, and a pink long-sleeve under her dress with leggings and her heeled boots.
Clover's wearing a pink button shirt over a darker shade pink shirt with purple pants and heels.
And Alex's wearing a light green cardigan over a green dress and heels.
"OK spies, keep your eyes open for anything strange, and try to blend in."
Naruto walked to a column and put his bot on it having it crawl up as he put glasses on and had a screen come up in his vision only. He had the bot listen for any clues as well as watch for anyone acting strange before hearing Clover lie about being the person who wrote an article about the universe expanding.
And was pulled up to explain it on stage before two people were suddenly pulled up into portals on the ceiling. "What a disaster." One man said walking up. "That was the foremost authority on 19th-century literature!"
Later, the group discusses the strange coincidence that the two men who were abducted were experts in the fields they have a test for tomorrow. "That is weird," Naruto said as his bot was on his shoulder. "You're thinking someone from school could be kidnapping them for good grades?"
After prying information from Jerry, and finding out they have a math quiz on Isaac Newton coming up, they decided on staking out the expert that was also staying in the hotel. Later, all of them in their spy suits watched as the man tripped and had a waiter in the restaurant he was going in to get taken instead. Alex ran in and pushed the man away having her get taken.
Outside, the others saw a jet with Alex in a pod before using their jetpacks to follow as it flew off and landed in a box truck. They flew up and stopped the truck only for a group of men to come out all holding weapons. "… Shit!"
Naruto tossed a red ball and had three levitate before firing webbing onto them and shooting them into a wall. He then tossed a trip mine having it stuck on one man. He turned and the mine shot webbing onto another pulling them into each other then slamming into the ground and having webbing trap them. As Naruto finished the group, more men came over via the truck that had the waiter before they ran as he used his last gadget and had to reload his shooters.
They ran out to the ocean and jumped on jet skis before riding them to the sewer and then going through another tunnel. After losing the men, the three got back to their helicopter and flew before reporting to Jerry and having a video of Alex come up asking for help. "I'm locking in on her location."
Sending them the coordinates that was the house next door to Sam's. "So… We could have had an easier time with this if we just saw something strange at your house?"
"That's where the ambassador of Chewbaccastan and his son have been living for two weeks!" Jerry explains to them.
"That fatheaded kid from Mr. Tetley's calls?" Clover asks Jerry.
Ambassador's House –01:52 PM.
The spies crawled through vents hearing Alex being interrogated before dropping down. Clover kicked at one man shooting cables at him. He then hit a tank that Alex was in breaking it and freeing her as Naruto got the other man by webbing his hands, flipping jumping over him having his arms go into an X then pulling on the web hard having the man knock himself out.
Suddenly they were surrounded by men and taken to another room to see Percival in a tube with a device hooked up to his now even larger head with all the kidnapped people in similar but with stuff being taken from their heads into Percival's.
"It's like they're putting the Nobel Prize winner's knowledge into his head." Sam mused as Percival started speaking knowledge on their school subjects.
"But why?" Naruto asks before a man in a white suit walks in.
He introduced himself as Percival's father who plans to make his son the smartest person in the world by stealing the intelligence of others before putting them in tubs and planning to give them the intelligence of a hamster. They tried to break out and Alex had her watch shot her up knocking the device off her head and cracking her pod.
"Alex do that again!" Sam exclaimed as Alex rubbed her head.
"No way! That hurt!" She exclaimed.
"It cracked your pod," Naruto said looking over. "That could be our ticket out of here!"
Alex then hit the spot before breaking out as the others followed. An alarm went off before the spies dropped tubes on the men that ran in before W.O.O.H.P. Agents ran in and arrested everyone as Alex pushed the intelligence back into the kidnapped people by jumping on Percival's car-sized head.
"I guess we need to get back for our quiz," Naruto said as Clover looked at him. "I dropped out of the play before you tried out."
"Why?"
"Mandy was auditioning for the role opposite of me. I didn't want to risk her bribing to get on." Naruto shrugged before Clover hugged Sam for an apology.
Beverly Hill High School –10:53 AM.
Naruto walked with the others all holding their quizzes that all had A's on them. And walked by the auditorium where Mandy got Sam's role instead. "Told ya," Naruto said before Sam and Clover hugged him.
