Hey, everyone! I hope things are going well for you! This is a status update, since I won't continue the story until I finalize the cast. Once again, the current deadline is April 4, 2025, 11:59 PM (assume that this applies to your timezone).
So far, I've enjoyed reading your submissions. They've been quite lovely, and I'm always surprised to see what kinds of characters that have come from your imaginations. I'm still open to characters of any kind of personality, but there are some personality types of which I would like to see more (these are just suggestions, of course):
- Characters who are distant and standoffish. Not necessarily arrogant or antagonistic, but they're not exactly keen to be friends with most people.
- Characters who are more emotionally reactive, e.g., someone who's impulsive, someone who often panics at the first sign of danger.
- Characters who are "theatrical". I've had many down-to-earth characters, so it may be nice to have characters who are a bit showy and eccentric.
- Characters who are somewhat zealous about morality. Think of characters who like to think of themselves as upholders of justice.
- Characters who are driven by envy. Some common sources of envy are money, love, and reputation.
In terms of talents, there are tons of ideas out there that I have not gotten, so the sky's the limit. If you want a few ideas, you can do:
- a talent that involves nature such as Hunter, Herbalist, and Cartographer.
- a talent that lies more on the artistic side such as Painter, Stage Actor, and Singer.
- a talent that's about business such as Marketer, Accountant, and Editor.
- a talent that's more of a cultural aesthetic nowadays such as Knight, Cowboy, and Samurai.
Once again, you can reuse talents from the games (as long as they accord with the rules I put in the first chapter), and you can check the current list of talents in the first chapter to see what's been submitted so far.
For the rule about no supernatural talents, I'd like to clarify one thing. You can still have characters that have a vague sixth sense or something like that. That kind of stuff is already present in the Danganronpa games. But anything explicit such as reading minds or manipulating reality with mental powers won't be accepted.
