Chapter 10

Fighting Stage - Point of view: Timeline Six

The Second Round had begun. With another `gong´ announcing the start.

In a way you could say that the Tournament had just now started in earnest, since many of the strongest participants had only now begun to take part. This Round would reduce the number of them again to four, who would then decide the winner between them.

Dozens of fighters begann to move nearly at the same time.

Trunks and Goten from Timeline Six were under the first ones and clashed with the first opponents they run into.

Which happened to be Brianne and Su from Timeline Twelve, who had already transformed before the Round had started. It seemed just like their counterparts, they had learned a few lessons in the past.

Brianne looked now - in opposite to the fat transformation with the, as she now herself thought, ridiculous red outfit of her `normal´ counterpart - more like a light blue skinned version of her regular self.

While Su looked more like the normal Roasie, only dressed in black.

Trunks exchanged a few punches with Brianne. While Goten was fighting Su.

Fighting Stage - Point of view: Timeline Ten

Dabura from Timeline Ten was also under the first fighters who had moved.

And the first person he met was Towa.

"Hello again `brother´," she greeted him.

"I told you, I have no sister," he said.

"I know. I just wanted to ask you, are you serious about this whole `I am a different man now´ thing or is this some kind of ruse?"

She send a not so high-leveled magical attack at him as she said this, that he however easily parried.

"Quite serious," he replied. "And if I were not, why would I tell you?"

"Now, this is the Dabura I remember," Towa said.

Their conversation however was being interrupted, since they were being targeted by some other fighters.

This two were Botamo and Auta Magetta from Timeline Nine, who suddenly appeared behind them, trying to take them off-guard.

Both raised their arms to attack them.

But before they could Towa send a magical attack backwards and Dabura turned around and punched Botamo in the guts.

"You two are not the fastest, aren´t you?" Towa commented.

"You are a metallman, aren´t you?" she said to Auta Mageta. "I have heard of your kind, a worhless dimwitted piece of metal, whose only advantage is that you are hard."

Despite not hurting him physically, her words visibly affected the metalman and he draw back from her.

"So the rumors are true. Your kind is actually vulnerable to insults... how pathetic," Towa said grinning.

This comment hurt Auta Mageta even more... mentally at least.

Thanks to Botamo´s elastic body the punch from Dabura showed not much effect.

Botamo was smiling at him, nearly as if he had already won.

But Dabura had also only been testing him. A second punch in the face was much harder, but it still had far less effect than it should have.

At the same time however, Dabura used the short distraction to materialize his sword in his hand.

"Y-you-... it is forbidden to kill your opponent," Botamo stammered.

"Oh - I guess when I just make a few swallow cuts, it will not kill you," Dabura told him with a smile.

This caused Botamo to get even more nervous and actually afraid and to move backwards.

But they were not the only ones here.

"Hey," Botamo heard a voice from behind him.

As he turned around, Ice Shenlong was standing right behind him.

And he attacked him with his powers. In the next moment Botamo´s elastic body was completely frozen over... and far less elastic now.

Ice Shenlong just send him flying with a slap and over the edge of the fighting stage. The first fighter to be eliminated in the Second Round.

"Not bad," Dabura commented as he now faced the Shadow Dragon instead.

Towa was meanwhile fighting Auta Mageta with a mixture of magical attack, telepathic powers... and simple but imaginative insults.

His ultra-hard metall body offered only a very limited or no protection against either of those.

Then she hit him with a ki blast that caused practically no physical damage pushed him backwards, closer to the edge. In more than one way.

Then finally...

"Freeze," Towa said to him.

And he actually followed her order and stopped moving. His mind, that was not exactly the most resistant in the first place, was overwhelmed by her mental power.

But right at that time she was being attacked herself.

She barely avoided a large blast being fired at her from behind. Instead it hit Auta Mageta, who was ironically just in the same moment being freed from her telepathic spell as Towa´s own concentration broke. But he did not had any time to avoid the blast. Being not very fast to beginn with did not help either.

The shot pushed him over the edge and out of bounds eliminating him.

It were the Shadow Dragons Syn Shenlong, who had been the one who fired the blast at her and Oceanus Shenlong standing beside him.

Point of view: Timeline Nine

Future Trunks, Lazuli and Sixteen just watched as their two Universe 6 teammates got beaten.

But they had their hands full themselves. Because they were currently facing Dabura´s teammates Gohan and Piccolo from Timeline Ten and Trunks own counterpart and Sixteen and Twenty one from Timeline Eight.

"Damn it," Future Trunks said, "I told them they should be more careful."

"This two are just too confident in their special abilities," Lazuli stated. "You know the type."

"Yes," he replied stoically.

"Sorry, but we could not allow you to help your teammates," Gohan said to them.

Future Trunks from Timeline Nine and Eight were now facing Gohan from Timeline Ten in his Ultimate Form and each other at the same time.

All three of them were now powering up.

Fighting Stage - Point of view: Timeline Six

Timeline Six Goku and Vegeta had also already turned into Super Saiyan 4 right from the start.

They however had a very good reason in mind for transforming into their strongest forms rigth away - the Shadow Dragons.

Since they had two fighters remaining from the last Round, their team had now an advantage. Even more than about winning the Tournament however, they cared about stopping people like the Shadow Dragons from winning it and getting their hands on this Super Dragon Balls.

So as soon as they heard the signal to start, they move to attacked them.

With the help of Super 17 and Uub backing them up.

But since the Shadow Dragons were not the only opponents here, they were not the first opponents they encountered.

The liquid being Maji Kayo from Timeline Eleven suddenly ambushed them.

He first tried to jump at Goku, but the SSj4 was too quick and avoided him.

Vegeta moved and tried to punch him, but his fist just went through his body without caused any real damage. Maji Kayo just reformed himself and then threw himself at the Saiyan Prince.

Vegeta was trying to get his opponent off him as he was wrapping himself around him, but his hands just moved through his liquid limbs like though water.

Uub was trying to help by firing a blast the the parts of Maji Kayo´s body that were not directly stuck on Vegeta´s, but even then it just reformed itself.

"Try concentrating your energy and release it," Goku said.

Vegeta scoffed.

"You don´t need to tell me that Kakarot," he replied.

Vegeta did exactly that. He formed an aura of ki energy around himself that affected even Maji Kayo liquid form, that was practically burned by it and pushed him off him.

In the moment he was separated from Vegeta, Super 17 ended it by forming a barrier-bubble around him and trapped him inside.

Vegeta then gave the bubble a push and threw it out of the ring.

As they turned around after this short distraction, they saw that the Shadow Dragons were already engaged with other fighters, including Dabura and Towa.

But that didn´t mean neither of them was paying attention to them.

"Son Goku," Nova Shenlong called out.

He send a blast of fire at him, which the Super Saiyan 4 however stopped with a shield formed out of his ki.

"It is nice to see you again," Goku said.

"The same to you Goku," Nova replied.

He had as well already powered up and his body was now glowing in a golden color.

"Finally a good fight for me," Goku commented.

The two were charging at each other.

Goku evaded two balls of fire that Nova threw at him.

Physically he was as a Super Saiyan 4 much stronger than the fire Shadow Dragon, but the immense heat he produced made it difficult to touch him directly. It was something he already knew from his fight with the Nova Shenlong of his own timeline.

But their duel was after a few moments being interrupted by a blast that was aimed at Goku from behind.

Fired by Syn Shenlong, who had just turned their attention to them for a moment while Oceanus was striking Towa with strong waves of wind, which Towa simply dealt with by forming a magical barrier around herself.

Goku managed to dodge the blast. This however of course caused him to break his concentration for a moment and `would´ have given his opponent an opening.

But...

"Hey - this is my fight," Nova called out to Syn Shenlong.

Syn just shrugged with the shoulders.

"If you insist. But don´t let this notions of `fairness´ cause you to loose. Or your Dragon Ball will be the next I absorb," he stated.

In the next moment however Syn sensed that he himself was being attacked, as Vegeta used the chance to charge up and fire a Super Final Flash at him.

Syn responded in the last moment with a blast of his own that clashed with Vegeta´s attack. The Super Saiyan 4 was much weaker than him now that he had absorbed the Dragon Balls of the others, so it was unlikely that it would have been able to eliminate him.

But it was better not to take the risk.

Towa meanwhile used the chance to draw back.

While she was pretty confident that she could take Oceanus alone, she admitted she had no chance against the one called Syn Shenlong at all. So she used the distraction to get further away.

Goku meanwhile surrounded his arms with an `armor´ of ki energy, that allowed him to touch Nova without instantly getting burned and punched him into the face.

The punch knocked the Shadow Dragon off his feet and unto the ground.

But Nova was far from being beaten yet.

That and Goku realized that Oceanus was standing behind him.

Vegeta´s Super Final Flash was now getting pushed back more and more by Syn Shenlong´s blast. As he started to concentrate more energy into it.

But suddenly Super 17 just stepped in between, absorbing both blasts at the same time.

"You," Syn Shenlong hissed.

"You just ended up giving me even more energy," Super 17 stated.

"Maybe you should leave this guy to me," he said to Vegeta, who looked not all too happy about the suggestion.

"Alright," he finally gave in.

Syn Shenlong and Super 17 now looked at each other. Both of them moved at the same time.

Fighting Stage - Point of view: Timeline Eleven

The Androids 17 and 18 from Timeline Eleven were standing side by side, with their hands raised and ready to fire shots at the closest fighters around them if anyone came closer to them.

While Doctor Gero and Paparoni were standing behind them for the moment.

But so far not actually attacking anyone... for now.

To their luck it seemed the other timelines were busy with each other for the moment. The Timelines Six and Twelve were clashing with each other. And so were Eight, Nine and Ten.

So for the moment they were trying to keep a low profile. At least until Doctor Gero had decided on the best targets for his plan.

The one exception was their teammate Maji Kayo, who had gone off on his own and had just now been eliminated.

"Your last man should have been more careful," Gero said to his `partner´ Paparoni. "It was stupid to just attack Goku´s group like this."

"I have to agree," Paparoni replied. "He has probably thought that our chances would be better if he can take out at least one of them with his special abilities."

"And he got himself eliminated instead," Gero responded. "Do you know how you fight special abilities? With other special abilities as you have just seen. From now on we follow my plan."

"You think this can work Gero?" Paparoni asked him.

"Yes - if we do this right," Doctor Gero replied. "17, 18 - when we move, you will distract them. Keep your distance, but try to draw attention to yourself and away from me."

"Yes Doctor Gero," 17 replied simply.

So they were bait now, he thought. It should not surprise him, given how outmatched they obviously were by the other teams. Maybe they should just give up and go home.

When it came to his personal feelings he did not care of if Gero´s plan to reprogramm and control one of the other timeline´s Androids failed. But he and 18 were bound by their on programming and had to follow their orders.

Trunks and Goten from Timeline Six vs Dark Brianne and Su

"You two are are interesting," Brianne commented while she was fighting Trunks. "While you are far from the strongest saiyans here, you are good."

"You can say that."

Trunks powered up into Super Saiyan Two. Goten followed him doing the same a moment later.

For a moment it seemed like they had the upper hand now.

But Brianne and Su were still keeping up with them. It looked like they were holding back a moment earlier.

As she just evaded another punch from Trunks, Brianne made a move with her hand. And with that move she materialized some kind of magical mist, that was filled with small black hearts floating in the air.

As soon as Trunks came into contact with it, he suddenly felt dizzy, his concentration was breaking. He felt confused.

Then he looked at Brianne.

"You have seen it, right?" she said to him, "you have noticed how beautiful I am."

She was right, Trunks thought. He could only starre at her.

Her beautiful face, her green hair, her body.

It was the same with Goten. He and Su had interrupted their own fight, but standing in a save distance to each other and was also looking at Brianne.

"Now - why do you boys not joing our side instead?" Brianne said. "It would make me very happy. And me and Su would make it up to you," she told them more than a bit suggestively.

"Trunks, Goten - snap out of it damn it," they heard Trunks father Vegeta calling out to them from the other side of the fighting stage. "Don´t let her get to you."

It was as if they were suddenly back to reality. Brianne was still beautiful, but no reason to loose their heads over it.

"Nice trick," Goten said. "But not enough to take us out."

Brianne frowned.

"We will see about this. My powers are still affecting you, admit it. I can see it. Do you think you can resist me and fight us at the same time?" she asked them.

"Do you actually want to resist?" She smiled at them.

Spectator Ranks - Timeline Zero

The visitors from Timeline Zero´s Universe 2 in the audience had noticed this scene as well.

"That is a perversion of my power of love," the `normal´ Brianne said.

The others could only agree. To corrupt the powers of love like this to manipulate others. It was hard to see for them how twisted this versions of their maidens had become.

Spectator Ranks - Timeline Zero

"Maybe I should ask one of my counterparts to fuse with me," Beerus from Timeline Zero said. "A few of them will be out of a job after all."

"Using the Potara Fusion is forbidden for a God of Destruction," the Highpriest reminded him.

"Yes, yes - I was only joking," Beerus responded.

"But if you want to offer a few of your counterparts to become your assistants..." the Highpriest suggested.

"Hmm - I´m not sure that would be a good idea," Beerus said. "They are like me after all. And I would not like serving under another version of myself either."

Unlike the Tournament of Power, the Gods of Destruction and Kaioshin and lower Gods of the loosing timelines would not be erased, but like all the other inhabitants, relocated. They would however loose their positions to their counterparts of the winning timeline.

Of course it was free for them to share their positions with their counterparts or to accept them as assistants. But what god would actually agree to that?

Fighting Stage - Point of view: Timeline Eight, Nine and Ten

The Future Trunks from Timeline Nine and Eight and Gohan from Timeline Ten were facing each other.

Gohan was in his Ultimate Form - an Ultimate Form that was much stronger than either of the two Trunks had ever imagined it could be.

Timeline Eight´s Trunks had now once again powered up into his Wraith Form.

So the Future Trunks from Timeline Nine decided at was at the time to lay the cards on the table as well.

He transformed into a Super Saiyan 4.

"What? How did you do that?" Timeline Eight´s Trunks asked him. "Father and Goku said that you needed a tail for this transformation and we don´t have one."

The other Future Trunks smiled.

"Concentrated blutz waves, artificially created," he said. "They had allowed me to reach this form and also helped me grow my tail. I carry it beneath my clothes right now."

"I understand."

"But this is not everything."

Timeline Nine´s Trunks went one step further. He powered up even more.

This time it was Gohan who reacted.

"I see, you have somehow combined your Super Saiyan 4 with your Ultimate Form and use the power of both at the same time."

"Yes," Future Trunks replied.

His strength now rivalled that of the other two.

"I am impressed, by both of you," Gohan stated.

"Thank you Gohan," Future Trunks from Timeline Nine and Eight said at the same time.

"But I can not let either of you win," Gohan continued. "So let us start."

The three charged at each other.

Timeline Nine Trunks send a kick at Gohan, which he blocked and Trunks from Timeline Nine a Punch at his counterpart, which he dodged.

Gohan responded by firing two low-leveled blasts at both of them. Which they simply swapped aside with their hands.

But he used the small distraction to attack them with a line of strikes again.

At the same time Lazuli and Sixteen from Timeline Nine were fighting Android Sixteen and Twenty One from Timeline Eight.

Lazuli landed a kick at Sixteen. Then she quickly moved aside, making room for her own Sixteen to fire an superpowered Hell´s Flash at him, that send the other Sixteen crashing into the ground.

Timeline Nine Sixteen´s body now turned into a silvery metal, that seemed to be half-liquid.

"What is this?" the other Sixteen, who was just standing up again, asked him.

"Ghetty Star technology," Sixteen from Timeline Nine responded.

"We have never heard of this," Sixteen from Timeline Eight replied.

"A difference in out timelines it seems," Sixteen stated. "It seems you never came into contact with the Ghetty Star."

"No we have not," the other Sixteen answered.

Twenty One shot a blast at Timeline Nine´s Sixteen, but Lazuli stepped in and stopped it pretty easily with one hand.

Then she moved and reappeared right in front of Twenty One and punched her in the face, knocking her down.

"Is that all?" she asked her.

"Sadly yes," Twenty One replied.

"So you don´t have your pink other form? Or the other abilities?" Lazuli asked.

"I am not even sure what you are talking about," Twenty One responded.

"I guess the computer had never build cells from the Demon Buu into you," Lazuli stated.

"The Demon Buu?" she asked. "No - and I am quite glad about that, even if I am weaker. Babidi was killed before he could revive Buu. But what I heard is enough for me."

"Yes, I guess it is better like this," Lazuli said. "That is probably also the reason you are not insane like the Twenty One from my timeline had been."

Twenty Nine smiled.

"I might not have Buu´s cells and we might not have this Ghetty Star technology," she said, "but we have something else. Do it Sixteen," she called out.

Point of view: Timeline Six

The group of fighters from Timeline Six´s Universe 7 was now facing the Shadow Dragons, as well as Dabura and Towa.

While their opponents, coming from three different timelines, were however of course not working together at all.

Syn Shenlong´s and Super 17´s fists clashed against each other in a clash that made both the air and the ground beneath them tremble.

Towa who had just drawn back from Syn Shenlong a few moments earlier was now confronted with Uub instead.

Physically Towa knew she was outmatched. Maybe not as much as against Syn Shenlong, but it was enough.

So she relied on magic and deception instead.

Towa conjured up six identical copies of herself that surrounded Uub and attempted to confuse him.

Uub dealt with the manifestations pretty easily. He just punched through them and they dissolved into nothing.

But when he had destroyed the last of the doubles a few seconds later, he saw that the real Towa was not longer there.

Dabura meanwhile was now fighting Ice Shenlong.

Ice formed a wall of ice in front of himself. But Dabura simply spit at it and it turned into stone and he just shattered it.

Then he swung his sword and Ice barely managed to dodge the strike.

Ice Shenlong responded by sending two ice-blasts at Dabura, which he deflected with his blade.

"You have gotten much stronger than the Dabura I knew," they heard a voice coming from the side.

It was Vegeta.

"Yes," Dabura said. "You can be sure of that."

"It also seems you have recovered pretty well from being possessed by Beby."

"Don´t even mention that thing," Dabura told him. "But I guess we owe these guys for freeing us from that scum."

"Believe me, I know how you feel," Vegeta stated. "I had been possessed by Beby myself. But I guess right now we have other matters to deal with."

"You say it," Dabura replied.

His eyes wandered from Vegeta to Ice Shenlong and back. Vegeta was stronger than both of them. But the Ice Shadow Dragon was tricky.

So Dabura made something that none of the others would have expected.

He raised his arms...

"Solar Flare," he called out.

The move took both Ice Shenlong and Vegeta completely by surprise. Neither of them would have expected Dabura to use that technique. Despite being blinded, both could of course rely on their ability to sense energy, but it was still a surprise.

Dabura moved right in front of Ice Shenlong... and just spat at him.

Ice realized in shock that his body was beginning to turn to stone.

"It is against the rules to kill an opponent," Vegeta reminded Dabura.

"He will not die. I can turn him back any time," he responded.

Point of view: Timeline Nine and Eight

"Do it Sixteen," Twenty One had called out.

"Alright Twenty One," Sixteen from Timeline Eight said.

Suddenly a cristal-like construct appeared on his forehead. And inside this cristal appeared a picture looking like Trunks in his Super Saiyan Wrath form.

He punched the ghetty upgraded Sixteen from Timeline, with enough strength to blow him off his feet and send him flying backwards, towards the edge of the fighting stage.

Lazuli powered up into kaioken times ten, caught him in the air and managed to stop him before he was thrown out of the ring.

"Thank you Lazuli," Sixteen said.

They were both looking in the direction of the other Sixteen, who was walking towards them.

"During the last war I was upgraded with parts of another Android, an alien Android," Timeline Eight´s Android Sixteen explained. "He possesed the ability to copy and store all the power and fighting techniques of another person. An ability that I now possess," Sixteen stated.

"And before the Tournament begann, Trunk allowed me to copy his powers in his Super Saiyan Wrath form."

What? Lazuli thought. She looked around to the version of Trunks that just went toe to toe with her husband in his strongest form and Gohan from Timeline Ten.

It seemed she had no other choice now.

She looked up to the spectator ranks.

"Eighteen," she called out, "I am sorry, but it seems I have to break my promise. As you see, I don´t really have another choice.

Lazuli saw the Eighteen from Timeline Six, who was sitting up there next to her timeline´s Bulma and Chichi. She was giving her a thumbs up, with the Bulma sitting next to her doing the same thing.

Lazuli smiled.

"Alright," she said.

Then she did something that took nearly everyone around completely by surprise.

Lazuli transformed into a Super Android.

"My counterpart from Timeline Six borrowed me her Android copy," she explained. "originally under the condition that I only use it against Timeline Twelve and Eleven. She wanted to keep people like them from winning this. So I had it´s systems deactivated, what let me look normal until now.

But it looks like my counterpart had just given me her okay."
