It was a beautiful sunny day out on Route 223 as the Time Force Rangers were in the car. They were going to Lake Valor for a long weekend and figured it would be nice to get away from reality for a little bit. Stacy was stuck in between Carl and Mason as Setsuna sat in the front seat. Xavier was behind the wheel as they were driving across. The last time they were in this part of Sinnoh was when they met someone in Pastoria City.
"So," said Mason, "How long till we get there?"
"A good hour," said Xavier, looking at Mason as he went to look on the road.
"Good," said Mason, "I can't wait to camp at the lakefront. No Capone, no responsibility, vacation mode…"
"I agree," Carl responded, "I'm tired of fixing people's things…. No one listens to my advice."
"Isn't customer service lovely?" Stacy asked, jokingly. She looked at Setsuna, "We deal with clients all time. Find my Meowth, Find my Houndour…. And these are ADULT trainers."
Xavier shook his head as the conversation continued. The last thing he wanted to think about was work. Looking over, he could see Setsuna engaging in conversation. Locked in, not focusing on the road. He heard someone honking on the horn. He turned around as another car went to clip him. Putting the breaks on, saving the car, Xavier put his hand on the horn, driving as he went past the guy.
"You okay?" asked Xavier.
"What was that?" asked Stacy.
"Moron," said Carl, turning around as his eyes bulged from his head. He could see flashing lights and a woman on a motorcycle. Carl sighed as he looked at Xavier, "Pull over, dude."
"Why?" asked Xavier, looking at the rearview mirror. His face went from confused to annoyed, "Darn it!"
Pulling over on the side of the road, he took a deep breath as he smacked his head on the back of the seat. As he rolled the window down, Officer Jenny appeared. Her eyes darted at him, "License and registration."
Sighing, Xavier pulled out his wallet, giving her the driver's license. Setsuna went into the glove compartment, getting the registration. As Xavier gave her the registration, Officer Jenny went to run the numbers on her motorcycle. After five minutes, she walked over as she turned to him, "Mr. Bishop, you were not doing 90 in a 60, but you almost recklessly side swiped a car…"
"In all due respect, the car cut me off first," said Xavier.
"You have friends in this car, you need to watch your speed. I see you also had some speeding infractions that almost expired… so close…"
"What does that mean? I only got pulled over twice a few years ago for speeding," said Xavier.
"I have to suspend your license until you take a driver's course. One of you needs to get in the driver's seat…. Unless you want to get arrested for insubordination and driving without a license."
Xavier took a deep breath as he looked at Mason. Mason nodded as he took the keys from Xavier. Officer Jenny finished the ticket and wrote it to Xavier. Xavier grumbled as he looked at Officer Jenny, walking to her bike. She hopped on and drove. Xavier looked at the ticket and freaked out. It said $20,000 pokedollars for speeding and…
"I need to go to driving school… or get arrested for reckless endangerment? What the heck?" asked Xavier.
"It could be worse," said Mason, chuckling. Xavier darted his eyes at him, "Get your ass out of the car and drive."
Go over time and space…

Chapter 14: The Last Race
It was a good week since the last time the Capone Gang did something drastic. They needed to take a pause since the incident at the Sunyshore Steel House, transforming it into a Pokémon Battle Ring. It was enough that Capone's connections were all arrested for what they did. It was also hard now to start a crime ring when the Time Force Rangers kept stopping him in his tracks. And once again, they were broke from the incident. Satfrax, who couldn't keep still, turned around as he went to look at his boss. He looked up as he stared at him. He couldn't even get a criminal to do his dirty work.
Satfrax grinned as he went to look at the criminals that were left in the cases. As he went to look at them, Persira walked over, curious to see what he was going to do. She didn't trust him after a few weeks ago.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Simple. Looking for a monster to start doing work," said Satfrax, curious. However, upon reaching, Persira slapped him, "Nope. Sadly, a monster has already been chosen."
"Since when?" Satfrax asked.
"Since yesterday. Capone gave me permission to run this operation," she said, crossing her arms, "After you and Cyrus failed, it's my turn."
"The last time you did anything… you failed," said Satfrax, turning to her. Persira turned around as she looked at him, "Well, Capone agreed."
"And due to what he did last week while we were doing that operation, we just have enough money to get by. We need to continue the operation," said Capone, grinning as he turned around to look at Persira. Persira grinned as she spun around. A pink aura appeared as this time, she had black shaggy hair down to her shoulders. She wore a yellow jacket with a black shirt underneath with black pants and purple shoes.
"New look, new me!" she said, "I'm going to help."
"Remember, he's a ladies man," said Capone, "Remember, that he's off limits…"
"I know," said Persira, grinning, "Anything for you."
Cyrus rolled his eyes. He was almost sick to his stomach as he went to walk away. Persira walked over as she grabbed him by the neck, "What's wrong, Galactic? Never seen a woman as pretty as me?"
Kissing him on the lips, she pushed him aside as Cyrus was red with embarrasment. Before he could say anything, Persira grinned, "Sadly, Capone would kill you first."
As she walked away, Cyrus turned around as Capone grinned, "She's amazing."
Cyrus said nothing as he walked away. Walking away, he walked down the hall as he headed toward the main lab, only to see Satfrax behind him. As he closed the door behind him, Cyrus turned around, "So, when can we strike?"
"It all depends on when Capone and Persira can… go away. Patience, we can do this again," said Satfrax, "Remember who saved you from the Distortion World."
"Right," Cyrus said, rolling his eyes, "I wish I could see Jupiter and Saturn again… even Mars."
"You will… right now, we just need to roll with the punches. And don't worry, I got plans for you," said Satfrax, grinning. Walking away, Cyrus was confused on what he meant by that. He turned around as he went to his lab.
The Jewelry Outlet in Sunyshore City…
The Jewlery Outlet, a chain of stores across the Pokémon World, was located on the streets next to the Sunyshore City entrance. Persira, who was dressed up, walked into the store as she went to the clerk. She grinned as she was looking at all the jewelry. There were rubies, a few necklaces and even beautiful rings with sapphire jewels. She looked up as she was smiling with happiness, "Excuse me, how much is all of this?"
"You want to buy the whole store?" he asked, his brown eyes staring at the chest.
"Well, yeah… come on, you know you can. You're business will make a profit," she said, grinning.
The clerk, suspiciously worried, gulped as he did it anyway. As he assisted, he worked on getting boxes. Placing the jewelry in the boxes, he went to ring them up as he looked at her. The receipt was through the printer, "The cost is… 150,000 pokedollars."
"That's it?" she asked.
"Yeah. We have a sale…, Bogo," he said.
Persira was surprised not to check. As she shrugged, she reached for her purse, grabbing bulks of cash. The clerk turned around as he went to count with another clerk, who was there to watch. As they counted to see it was even, Persira had the bags in hand. The clerk turned around as he went to the money counter on the left, "What are you doing?" she asked.
"We need to see if these bills are fake before you leave," he said.
Persira nodded, acting normal. As the clerks did their job, she started walking slowly toward the door. As she sped toward the door, the alarms were going off on the counter. She gulped as she dashed out the door. The clerks turned around as they hopped over the glass counters, dashing toward the door. As she hopped in a blue mustang like vehicle, the vehicle drove off.
"Call the cops!" he said, "Did you get the license plate?"
"We can get it from the camera," the clerk shouted.
Valor Resort…
The rangers made it to the Valor Lakefront that night. After an hour of checking in, the rangers were hanging out in one of the houses. Dropping their stuff off, the rangers were hanging out on the back patio by the pool. As the rangers were all having fun with their Pokémon, Xavier was doing some business first… by finding a driving school. As he was on his laptop, he was trying to register into Sunyshore Driving School. Annoyed that they suspended license, meaning Sunyshore Police, Xavier rolled his eyes as he was looking at his Electivire, who was wondering when he was getting off.
"Give me a minute… this is hard… paying for a ticket, paying for a school… it's fun," said Xavier.
Mason, who over heard, dashed over as he closed the laptop. Xavier looked up as Mason grinned, "Come on, buddy! It's time to be on… vacation?"
"Not if you got a ticket," said Xavier, rolling his eyes.
"Dude, it's going to be fine. Even a suspended license," said Mason.
"Dude, it's my side job right now until you know… we capture Capone and Cyrus," Xavier responded, "I was making good money so I can go to Kanto without asking my parents for cash or even battling trainers for cash. It was trying."
"Well, you are trying to pay a bill… and Setsuna?" Mason asked, in horror, "You too?"
"I'm just reading the news," said Setsuna, scrolling on her temporary phone. She locked it as she went to stand up, "There was a robbery while we were gone."
"Robbery?" asked Xavier and Mason.
"Yeah, counterfiet money. The driver drove off with it," said Setsuna.
"Well, not our problem," said Xavier, finishing up. As he finished paying for the class, he sighed as he went to stand up, "Alright, let's go have some fun."
"Come on, dude!"
Xavier turned around as Carl was in his bathing suit, swimming with some of the water Pokémon, "Heated pools are awesome!"
Xavier chuckled as he turned to Mason, "Last one in has to hang with Stacy."
Stacy turned around as she heard her name. Mason and Xavier froze as she walked across the patio in her pink and white bathing suit. As the two rangers laughed, they walked backwards as they reached the water's edge. Stacy grinned as she pushed both of them in the pool. The rangers landed in the pool as she shook her head, "Men."
Xavier and Mason rosen from the water as they looked at Stacy. Stacy grinned as she went to squat. As she looked at both of them, Xavier and Mason nodded as they looked at each other. Stacy went to get up, only getting grabbed by both and being thrown in the pool. Stacy turned around as she went to have a splash fight with the four rangers. Setsuna shook her head as she went to walk down the stairs of the pool. The five of them were having a blast.
Later that night…
Xavier was sitting in a blue bathrobe with black sweatpants, having a glass of water. He turned around as he was looking at the other rangers, who were somewhat dressed to sleep. He turned around as he looked at the rangers, "Guys, I haven't had this much fun in a while."
"Agreed," said Setsuna, laughing as she was looking at the rangers, "This was excellent. Who's idea was this?"
"Mine," said Mason, "My regulars always rents them out so I figured we could rent it."
"Thank you!" said Stacy, pouring a glass of wine, "The Pokémon are asleep, so I guess we can all hang out."
Xavier hopped on one of the couches as he went to grab his glass, "Let's chat."
"So, truth or dare?" asked Carl.
"No," said Stacy, laughing, "Absolutely not."
"Come on," the yellow ranger said, "That's a little much, Carl."
"We've known each other for almost two months now. We might as well learn," said Carl.
Setsuna shook her head as she turned to him. She then shrugged as she looked at the green ranger, "I'm in."
The rangers were in shock. Setsuna usually never gives in to a game. But, because it was the five of them, the rangers turned around as Xavier gulped. Carl grinned as he looked at Xavier, "I am going to start off with… Setsuna."
Setsuna, nervous, looked at Carl as he went to drink a glass of chardonnay that was left over, "I am curious. Have you ever had Pokémon of your own?"
Setsuna was silent as she went to look at the green ranger. With confidence, she took a deep breath and went to answer, "No. With everything that happened to me with my family, Pokémon wasn't on my mind at the time. Being a cop wasn't on my list of things to do then. I wanted to be a trainer just like you all."
"And that all got crushed because Cashone killed your parents," said Stacy, feeling tension from Setsuna. Taking a breath, she turned around as she went to grab a box of tissues, tossing it to her. Setsuna shook her head, "Thanks, but I'll be fine."
"Are you sure?" asked Stacy, "That was a touchy question."
"I think after we arrested him, I felt more at peace. I'll be more at peace when Capone is in jail," she replied, "My turn?"
Carl nodded silently as Setsuna went over toward Stacy, "So, what made you join Team Rocket years ago?"
Stacy sighed as she looked at Xavier. It brought back a can of worms from when she had another glass of wine, "Well, I was homeless. My parents abandoned me when I was young, and I was left on the streets of Saffron City. I managed to find a shelter with other kids and we got together to steal. Let's just say, a Rocket Grunt recruited us."
Carl looked up as he turned to her, "That's horrible. What made you want to quit?"
Stacy sighed, "I didn't. I was arrested by Detective Curtis. I don't even want to get into that… but in prison made me realize that I had so many opportunities between when I was 15 and now. Granted, even though Giovanni gave me the Pokémon to train with…"
"Those Pokémon were stolen from other trainers?" asked Xavier.
Stacy nodded, "Yeah. But, they worked with me. Forced to, sadly. Kadabra and Haunter saw what was in my heart. So did Meditite. They chose to stay with me. They knew I wouldn't be able to find their actual trainers… and they were kept well while I was away. If anything, I learned from them was they made bad choices because I made a horrible choice. I chose to change my heart during my time and that's how I got out so quick."
"So, how come every time you see Detective Curtis, you freak out?" Mason asked.
Stacy sighed as she went to walk over. She found the bottle of wine that was opened and poured another glass, gathering her thoughts as she turned around, "Rey went undercover as a Team Rocket operative. He and I… two years ago, worked together. He was trying to find the source of Giovanni's project and I betrayed Team Rocket's trust because I fell in love with him."
Mason placed his hand on her shoulder, "So, you feel hurt even though you are no longer together."
Stacy nodded, "He was kind too… that's what was weird about it. So, when we met at the yacht during that jewel thief case, I was glad he didn't recognize me. Sure, cops would be surprised to see a change in criminals and seeing that their lives have changed for the better but I feel kind of burned by him because I fell for him."
Setsuna raised her eyebrow, "Well, with police work, it's tough. People falling in love on the job and trying to understand that they have a job to arrest that person, I'm sure it must have been devastating on both sides."
"You did that?" asked Stacy, "I mean, going undercover."
"No… but Jace did back then. He never wanted to fall in love again," Setsuna replied. The rangers fell silent as Xavier went to throw a box of tissues to Stacy. Stacy nodded her head as she went to get a tissue from the box. Xavier looked up as Stacy went to dry her tears. She took a deep breath as she looked at him, "Ever fallen in love?"
Xavier froze as he side-eyed Setsuna, trying to act normal. He took a deep breath as he looked at her. He shook her head, "Yeah… sometimes I don't know if it feels real. But with how things have been, my love life has somewhat been put on hold."
Setsuna looked at him as he took a deep breath again. From what she could tell, he was nervous about something. Xavier turned to Mason, "So, Mason…"
"Dare..."
The night continued as the rangers were talking about their deepest feelings and truthful answers. There may have been a dare or two. As the night ended, Xavier went to walk in the hallway, heading to his room. As he did, he stopped. He noticed Setsuna was lying down, looking at the window. He shook his head silently as he walked toward his room. As he did, he headed toward the bed. Landing on the bed, he looked up as he was seeing the window. He didn't know what to say or do. His feelings were mixed. He wasn't sure if falling in love with someone from the future was possible. He shook his head as he closed his eyes, trying to get some sleep.
The next morning…
As the sun pierced the window, each ranger was fast asleep. Xavier was laying in bed as he was covered in the sheets. Sleeping peacefully, he tossed and turned recklessly. As he laid on his backet, the sound of the Chrono Morphers were blaring from across the house. Xavier reached for his morpher as he went to press the button. Hoot's diagram appeared.
"Rangers, Persira is near your location!"
"Why?" asked Xavier, croaking.
The other rangers walked into the room as Hoot went to continue, "The robbery last night linked to an unmarked car. The unmarked car could be traced back to Pastoria City… it was stolen. I was able to find camera bits… Persira was in the vehicle."
"Great," said Mason, "Another case?"
Setsuna turned around as she looked at Xavier and then at her morpher, "We're on it."
As Hoot disappeared, the rangers dashed to their rooms to get dressed. Xavier sighed as he went to get up from the bed, finding new clothes. As he did, the rangers headed out together as they turned to each other. Xavier stood silently as he looked at Setsuna. Setsuna looked down as she turned to the others, "Let's get on the Vector Cycles."
The rangers nodded as they formed an X with their arms and then stretched their arms out, "Time for… Time Force!"
Pressing the button, a red and white Poké Ball was flashing on the morpher as blue lights began to swirl. The rangers jumped up as they transformed into their suits, landing on the concrete.
"Chrono Access!"
The morphers activated by pressing a few buttons. A blue and white swirl appeared as the five Vector Cycles appeared. Each bike was white with their ranger color stripe on either side. On top there were nozzles with lasers and a plastic shield. The plastic shield resembled their visors. The rangers hopped on as Mason turned to Xavier, "At least you don't need a license."
Xavier nodded in response, "Good point."
Route 223…
Persira grinned as she was stretching her arms. She turned around as she noticed a dark skinned man taking the wheel. He had black hair that was straightened with green eyes. He had a silver necklace as he had a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He turned around, looking at Persira.
"Smart idea, Max! Going to Valor Lakefront is a great place to hide the cash."
"All in due time. Eventually though we will have to talk about building Capone's empire with-."
BOOM!
Red and green lights hit their vehicle. Max spun the vehicle as he stopped. He turned around as he looked at the five rangers. Max slammed the door as he got out. The rangers pulled up from their Vector Cycles as Xavier stood forward. Xavier froze as he looked at him.
"Haha, Poké Rangers Time Force I presume?" he asked.
"Yeah…," said Xavier.
"You look like you've seen a ghost, dude. You never seen a man from this century work with someone as beautiful as Persira?" he asked.
Xavier stepped forward as he looked at him. The rangers looked at him as Xavier pressed a button on his Chrono Morpher. A blue aura surrounded him as his suit disappeared. Max froze as he looked at him, "No way… Xavier Bishop? The top Sinnoh League trainer?"
"Max Detweiler… the runner-up," he said.
Setsuna turned around as she looked at him. She then turned to Max, "You know each other?"
"Sadly," said Max, laughing, "He threw me out of the league for cheating."
"You had no honor in battle, sir," Xavier responded, "You were a thief. And how could you be working with… her?"
"Hey, they promised me I can work with them…" he said, laughing as a blue aura surrounded him. The rangers watched as he transformed. He had a black and purple striped body with an Arcanine face. He had red eyes with a black vest that had a red fire design, "If I fuse myself with mutant DNA."
Setsuna turned around as she looked at Xavier, "That's most of our criminals. You just sold your soul without knowing it."
"Hey, anything to make a buck and pay for his misdeeds," said Max, laughing as he turned to him, "See ya, buddy!"
As he and Persira got in the car, Max started the car and pressed the gas pedal. He drove donuts around Xavier and then took out a blue blaster, shooting the other rangers. Laughing, he and Persira drove off. Xavier was the only one undamaged, "Max… why?"
Valor Lakefront…
Xavier sat down by the poolside as he was looking at his reflection. Reflecting on what he saw, he couldn't believe his old friend was back. However, he was very confused on who and what caused him to act that way. His thoughts, memories and flashbacks were all sitting on what was going on. He shook his head as he placed his bare feet in the water. As his feet touched the water, he could hear Setsuna's voice.
"Yo, what are you doing being mopey?"
"Contemplating my life choices," said Xavier, laying on the concrete. The sun was beating his face as he put his sunglasses on. Setsuna turned around as she looked at him, "Well, may I ask how you know Max so well?"
"Let me guess, Hoot can't find the criminal record?" asked Xavier.
"Yeah," said Setsuna, turning to the blue ranger, "That's the crazy part. Max wasn't on the list of criminals that was transported from the 41st century."
Xavier took a deep breath as he looked at Setsuna, "Setsuna, Max and I have been rivals for some time. He always tried to one up me, even in battle."
"Battle?" asked Setsuna.
Xavier nodded as he went to look back through his thoughts.
Two years ago…
"Dugtrio! Show Electivire some respect. Earthquake!"
Max and Xavier were on the Sinnoh League Semifinalists battlefield. The battlefield was similar in length. It was purplish-bluish, similar to Palkia and Dialga colors. As the quake began to surface. Xavier looked up as he watched the crack in the earth, "Electivire, jump!"
Electivire jumped up carefully, looking down at Dugtrio. The Alolan Dugtrio looked up as Electivire began to charge its fists, "Mach Punch!"
"Quick, use Rock Blast!"
Dugtrio went to release stadium debris as rocks, heading toward Electivire. Electivire punched each one, heading straight to Dugtrio. Dugtrio was smacked across as it landed on the ground. Dugtrio spun around and sunk in the holes.
"That's it! The winner of this battle goes to Xavier Bishop!"
Xavier jumped up as he stretched his arms in the air, "We won!"
Max's eyes darted at Xavier as he looked at his fainted Pokémon. Xavier walked over as he went to stretch his hand, only for Max to back it away, "That wasn't fair in my book."
"Oh, come on. I understand it's a league championship, but you and your Pokémon fought bravely dude."
Xavier watched as Max threw a punch at him. As Xavier landed on the ground, security guards arrived to grab Max from the stadium. Max stretched out his Poké Ball, returning Dugtrio, "This isn't over, Bishop."
Later that night…
Xavier was sitting down as he was hanging with his Pokémon. The Pokémon were hanging with him as he was serving dinner at the rest house. As the team was hanging out, his Inteleon began to hear sounds of a car engine.
"INTEL!"
Xavier looked up, "Inteleon, what's going-?"
He turned around as white lights appeared through the window. The rest of the house, in an instant, was smashed. As everyone got out of the way, the rest house was split through as the car hit a tree. Xavier dashed over as he looked at the car. The car was totaled, and the windows were broken. As Xavier opened the door, he saw Max stumble from the car. He could smell something on his breath.
"HAHAHA I took him out," he said, turning to Xavier, "Oh darn it, you're alive."
"Max, seriously? You were going to kill me and my Pokémon?" asked Xavier.
"You cheated and you know it. I'm going to make sure you never compete again!"
Xavier turned around as he reached for his phone. As he went to call the authorities, Max went to get a blade from his pocket. As he went to strike, Xavier's Inteleon released a Hydro Pump, knocking him down. His Electivire walked over and grabbed Max by the neck, slamming him to the ground. Xavier stood in shock as he went to speak, "Hi, I need Officer Jenny here right away."
Present Day…
"I got him arrested for Reckless Driving, DWI, Attempted Vehicular Manslaughter…," said Xavier, turning to Setsuna, "I met many trainers, and they were never as crazy as him."
Setsuna turned to him, "So, did you have to testify?"
"Yep," said Xavier, "Sent for 5 years in prison… how he got out is beyond me."
"Maybe he acted in good faith and was out?" asked Setsuna.
Xavier sighed as he looked at her. Getting up from the water, "Well, I am going to find out."
"Where are you going?" asked Setsuna.
Xavier turned to the red ranger as she looked at him. He looked at her in response, "To a place he often goes to find drinks and women."
"Well," said Setsuna, looking at Xavier, "I can go with you."
Xavier shook his head, "I would rather not. This is personal business."
"And it's my business," she replied, "Remember he now works for Capone. Throwing him back in jail right now is probably not going to last in this time period. Also, he doesn't know that I am the leader of the team."
"Fine," Xavier replied, "I warned you though."
Hours later…
The sun was already down as the Valor Lakefront was party central. As the lights were shining around the area, there was a little fancy club that was in the corner of the street. Xavier and Setsuna were sitting with the rest of the crew. The lights were flashing as the dance floor was going on. People and Pokémon were dancing on the floor. As the five rangers were sitting in the circular booth. Xavier was sitting in the back with Setsuna next to her. Carl turned around as he was looking at the lights. He grinned as he turned around, "This is definitely paradise."
"Don't get in over your head, Carl," said Xavier, looking at the girls that were heading toward the tables, wearing club outfits, either working or there for social.
"Really?" asked Stacy, "I would slap the crap out of him being at this place."
"He is a sleaze," said Xavier, looking over. He froze, seeing Max walk in the club. As he headed to the bar, Xavier watched as he had a glass of some type of liquor in his hand that was being made. Already, Xavier knew that he was going to be a problem. Looking over, Max turned around, seeing Xavier hanging out with his friends. Max grinned as he looked at them, drinking and heading to them. He turned around as he looked at Xavier, "Well, Bishop…. You look great. So do your friends."
"Well, the pleasure is all ours," Mason said, standing up to his face, "Now, what do you want?"
"Um, Mason. That's not a great way to treat our guest," said Xavier. Mason turned around as he looked at him. Xavier stared at him as Mason sat down. Xavier sat back as he put his arm around Setsuna, :"So, what brings you here?"
"Well, I was going to ask your friend to dance with me," he said.
"Sorry, she's off limits," said Xavier, turning to Setsuna. Setsuna turned around as she looked at him, but Xavier nudged her shoulder, by rubbing it with two fingers, grinning as he turned to her, whispering in her ear, "Play along."
"Yeah, sorry… he's with me," she said, "I am not single. I'm… his girlfriend."
"Ah, that's cool," said Max, "I didn't mean to be that way. I am sure he told you I'm a sleaze."
Stacy sighed as she turned around to get up from the booth. Max laughed as he looked at her, "Ooh, going to get a drink."
"Some people need to use the ladies room… which you're not invited to," said Stacy, pushing Max away. Max chuckled as he watched Stacy walking down the hall. Carl and Mason turned to each other as Carl nodded slowly, "Hey, Mason, I'll get you a shot. Want anything?"
"Yeah, let's see what's up there," he said.
Mason carefully got up, death staring Max as he walked away. Carl turned around as he winked at Setsuna. Setsuna nodded as she turned to Xavier. Max turned around as he looked at Xavier, "Tough crew you got."
"Listen," said Xavier, looking at him, "You were supposed to be gone for 5 years. It's been 2. How the hell did you get out of prison?"
"Well," said Max, laughing as he went to take a drink, "Someone's mad."
"Of course I am! You nearly killed me and six of your Pokémon two years ago, do you think that trauma doesn't go away?" asked Xavier, "Now, out with it!"
Max grinned as he laughed, "I'm not allowed to tell you. After all, I know who you are… Blue Ranger."
Setsuna said nothing as Xavier folded his hands, "Yup, I am. And I am telling you this now, if you can tell me how you managed to turn into a mutant, maybe I can work with my friends to get a deal where we can get that extracted and you can serve the rest of your life here behind bars. Because now you have an extra charge against you."
"You don't know that," he said.
"I got the camera footage with you and Persira… the license plate was the same plate you used two years ago… you just got a new car," said Xavier.
Max laughed as he looked at him, "You don't know that."
"I do…," he said, picking up the photos in his pocket. As he spread them out, Max froze as he looked at them. Max turned around as Xavier collected them, "And if you don't comply, the next time I see you, my friends and I will arrest you. We will freeze compress you and throw you in a capsule… awaiting transport back to the future."
"Wait… what?" asked Max, "You mean?"
"Oh you didn't know?" asked Xavier, "Persira is from the year 4024. Capone is from the year 4024. All of the criminals I've arrested are awaiting transport to be frozen for a long time… and I mean, a long time. So, unless you tell me how you became a mutant, I guess freeze compression is where you are going to be going."
"You can't freeze compress me," he said, laughing.
Setsuna clenched her jaw as she turned around to Xavier. Xavier placed his arms on Setsuna's knee, stopping her from reaching Max across the table. Xavier looked over as Max grinned, "I plan on finishing these robberies and going off with Persira to an uninhabited island while Capone takes this place over. He's made a lot of deals with prisoners and wardens."
"What do you mean?" asked Setsuna, curious.
"That's a story for another day," he said, getting up. Setsuna reached for his hand as he went to throw a fist. Xavier threw a punch, smacking him to the booth. Setsuna turned around as she looked at him with people crowding around. She grinned as she looked at him, "Honey, you saved me."
"I try," said Xavier.
He turned around to see blood coming from his mouth. Setsuna grinned as she blotted Max's face. Max shrugged as he broke free. Setsuna grinned as she turned around, looking at Xavier. Xavier grinned as he looked at the bouncer. He already got the hint, "Can I at least close my tab?"
Five minutes later, the rangers were walking toward the rest house. The weather was comfortable enough, no humidity and the music was still blaring as the rangers were walking together. Setsuna grinned as she turned to Xavier, "You did good."
"Well," said Xavier, "I knew he wouldn't talk. But, punching him… we were at least able to get a good blood sample."
"And it's fresh," said Setsuna, waving the green box in her hand, "So, I can teleport this to Hoot for forensics and we can figure out how he may have gotten access to Pokémon DNA to be somewhat of a mutant."
Carl turned around, "I missed the punch!"
"It was glorious dude," said Mason, "Right, Stacy?"
"I was gossiping with girls in the bathroom, but I heard you got kicked out, X. At least we got evidence," she replied with happiness, "So, did he realize he could be arrested?"
"He's delusional," said Xavier, "I mean can Pokémon DNA be infused in a human?"
"That's why I wanted to know," Setsuna said, "Many people that were criminals in the 41st century and part of Capone's army were actually infused with Pokémon DNA, which if infused correctly, could cause a problem. There are of course some criminals not from this planet that work with Capone that we've captured but this isn't the case. We can even find ways to remove it from the system. We've done that too."
"Can we save Max then?" asked Xavier.
"That I don't know," said Setsuna.
As the five of them continued to walk toward the home, there was a sudden laughter. Xavier turned around as he looked at the right side of the bushes. Max arrived out of the bushes, however, he was not in his human form.
"So, you are going to find out what happened regardless," he said, "Talk about a matter of trust."
"Well, I don't trust you anymore," said Xavier, "Anyway, I'm going home."
"Nope… not until I give you my demands."
Setsuna laughed as she looked at him, "You are in no position to make demands."
"Really? Time Force Red," he said, looking at Setsuna. Setsuna's mood changed as Xavier looked at him, "So, you know, cool. What do you want?"
"Simple. Tomorrow morning, you and I will take a drive around Route 213 from the Pastoria City side to Valor Lakefront. If I win, you leave me alone. If you win, you can arrest me."
"I don't know if I should take that offer," said Xavier.
"Then, you probably shouldn't be going to your cabin right now," he said, grinning, "The fire department should be there any time."
"Fire department?" asked Stacy.
Within seconds, the rangers froze as they saw a fire truck go past them. The rangers dashed over, chasing after the fire truck. As they headed toward the cabin, the flames were flying out of the roof. As the rangers were heading toward the house, the Centuroids were walking toward them. Setsuna turned to the others, "Let's go!"
As the rangers went to strike, Max stood there and watched them battle, laughing. Xavier spun around as he kicked a few of them in the stomach. As the blasters flew out, he flipped backwards as he grabbed one of the Centuroids and threw the Centuroid across. Mason threw a punch at two of them and then rolled across one. He then kicked two of them in the stomach. Carl turned around as he spun around, throwing kicks. He grabbed his Time Blaser, pulling the trigger. Green beams struck as the Centuroids fell to the ground. Stacy and Setsuna nodded as they took out their Chrono Morphers, "Chrono Access!"
As their Vector Sabers appeared, red and pink energy bolts surrounded them, "Vector Hurley!"
Blasts appeared as the Centuroids landed on the ground. Max laughed as he looked at them, erupting from the field. This time he's in human form. Carl held his blaster as Setsuna and Stacy stretched out their sabers. Max laughed as he looked at them, "That was a good plan. So, it is true. Well, guys… more will happen to you if Xavier brings you all. This challenge is alone."
A blue aura surrounded Max as he disappeared. Instantly, their weapons diminished. Taking a deep breath, Stacy turned around as she looked at Xavier, "Xavier, do it."
"Yeah," said Carl, turning to Xavier, "You better win!"
"How though? I don't have a … I can," said Xavier, grinning.
"Yeah, like you said, you don't need a license to be a ranger," said Mason.
Xavier nodded slowly as he turned to the rangers.
Within an hour, the rangers were able to gather what they could in their suitcases and transfer to a different beach house. As Mason was explaining what happened to his customer who loaned him the house, the other rangers were watching Hoot on screen.
"So, it seems he was infused with Arcanine DNA…" Hoot replied, "However…"
Xavier turned around as he went to say something. The rangers looked up as Xavier walked forward. Hoot continued to respond, "The infusion is so powerful that when arrested, the DNA won't be extracted. How was he able to do this?"
"We tried to ask. He wouldn't budge," said Xavier, "And now if I don't race him tomorrow, something will happen to us. He knows who we are and it could be only a matter of time until he knows about our hideout…"
"He knows our technology is from the future," said Setsuna.
"Yeah, it looks like its going to be tough," Hoot replied, "Xavier."
Xavier turned around as he looked at Hoot. Hoot looked at him directly, "Don't be weak. Win the race and when its over, freeze compress him."
"You got it," Xavier said, slamming his fist on the countertop, "I won't let any of you down."
The next morning…
Within minutes, Xavier woke up as he managed to get dressed. Getting everyone fed, he headed outside as he stepped outside. Walking toward the front steps, Max sat there, waiting for him. He grinned as he sat down on the porch, "Look who's awake."
"I am here to win," he said.
Max grinned as a purple aura surrounded him, showing his monstrous self. His purple and black corvette was sitting in the driving pad. Xavier turned around as he reached for his morpher, "Time for… Time Force!"
Pressing the button, a red and white Poké Ball was flashing on the morpher as blue lights began to swirl. Xavier jumped up, a black background appeared with two blue clocks on the top and bottom. Green data surrounded him as he jumped up to morph. Blue lightning appeared from the bottom as his digital suit appeared from the waist up. Landing on the ground, the background disappeared.
"Chrono Access!"
A blue aura appeared as his Vector Cycle arrived. The two opponents headed out of the house area. As they did, his Pokémon were left behind. Inteleon and Electivire looked at Setsuna as she was already dressed. They were already nervous with what's going on.
"He'll be fine, guys!" she said, "We have a plan."
Electivire and Inteleon nodded as they went to hug her. Setsuna grinned as she hugged them back. Feeling emotions, she turned around as the other rangers arrived.
"Alright," said Setsuna, "Shall we head out?"
"Max said no one but Xavier," said Carl, crossing his arms. He then turned around as he looked at Setsuna, "What are you thinking?"
"They aren't going to play by the rules," said Setsuna, "Let's be honest. They burned Mason's customer's house down and knew we were here."
Stacy raised an eyebrow as she looked at the windows, "Alright, boss. Let's do it."
Route 213…
After driving out to the other side of Pastoria City, Xavier turned around as he looked at Max. Max grinned as he got in the vehicle. Xavier took a deep breath as he hopped on the Vector Cycle. Persira appeared with her flag, "Remember, if you lose, we continue to do our crimes! 3…. 2… 1…. Go!"
Waving the flag, Xavier and Max went at it neck and neck, passing Persira as the race started. Xavier pushed on the gas as he continued to drive. He turned around as Max pressed the gas, swinging into Xavier's Vector Cycle. Xavier took a deep breath as he slammed his Vector Cycle into the car. As they drove on the beach, Xavier increased the speed a little. As he continued to drive, a black net started to rise from the ground. As he went through it, a blue electrical spark appeared as Xavier was hit. As he was electrocuted, he stopped the cycle before it hit the rock wall. Max laughed as he looked at him, "GOOD LUCK!"
Xavier shook his head as he snapped out of it. He continued on as they headed around the rock wall, learning that it was flat just like the beach should be. Max drove across the shoreline, almost running into people, trying to make a shortcut. Xavier couldn't believe it as he went past him. As he turned right, he was heading toward the left. Spikes appeared from the ground. He quickly drifted to the right, he missed the spikes as Max hit them. Max yelled as Xavier went up the hill. As he did, Max's car started going up the hill, only to spin. Finally reaching the top, Xavier could see the Valor Lakefront entrance. Speeding through, Xavier managed to get to the entrance sign. Slowing down, he turned around as he looked at his rearview mirror. A ripped-up car with Max in the driver's seat hissed as he started to run him over. Xavier turned around as he saw the finish line. However, a black net appeared as he was surrounded. A blue spark surrounded him as he landed on the ground. However, he made it through the finish line.
"I win…," said Xavier, caught in the net.
Suddenly, Max laughed as he went full speed, "Bye, bye, Bishop!"
As he floored it, Xavier gulped as the car was going full speed. As Xavier closed his eyes, red, green, pink and yellow blasts hit his car as Max flew out. Exploding on impact, Max landed on the ground as Setsuna and the others arrived. Setsuna took out her Vector Saber and slashed the net.
"I said no friends!" he shouted.
"You set traps for me… that's cheating already," said Xavier. A pink aura arrived as Persira appeared, "Max, why didn't you…." She turned around to see the car explode. Persira screamed as she landed on the ground. Parts flew everywhere as the rangers arrived with their weapons, "You broke your promise."
"Really? Then how come you set traps around the route?" asked Xavier, "That was not fair in my opinion."
Xavier turned around as he stretched out his Time Force Badge, "Now, Max. You're under arrest."
"Centuroids!" Persira shouted.
Flashes of purple energy surrounded her as the Centuroids arrived. Xavier reached for his Chrono Morpher, "Chrono Access, Vortex Launcher!"
Picking up the Vortex Launcher, the five rangers used their Vortex Weapons, "Fire!'
Five beams of energy struck the Centuroids as they landed on the ground. As more appeared, the rangers began tearing the Centuroids with their blasters. As Xavier finished the last one, a purple flame was unleashed as he landed on the ground. Max dashed through as he went to use his claws. Quickly, Xavier pulled the trigger as his Vortex Launcher released a blue energy bolt. Max blocked it and jumped up. In fast speeds, Xavier was clawed down as he landed on the ground. Max continued his onslaught, only for Xavier to grab his fists.
"You're finished," he yelled.
"Nope… I'm ending it," said Xavier, kicking him in the stomach with his knee. Throwing him down on the ground, Max went to scuffle with him. Max broke his defense and slashed him multiple times with his claws. He then opened his vest as purple flames were released. Xavier dodged the attack as he spun across.
"Chrono Access, Vector Sabers!"
He performed a shoulder roll as he turned to Max, "Vector Hurley!"
A blue blast of energy struck Max. Max yelled as he landed on the ground. Xavier jumped up with his Vector Sabers, slashing Max. Max yelled as he landed on the ground. Flames erupted from his armor as he rose in anger. Xavier turned around as he clenched his fists, "Let's go! Time Strike: Hydro Cross!"
Two blue lines, shaped like an X, went across Max. Max yelled as he landed on the ground, soaked with water and electric energy. As he went to stand up, he started shifting back and forth between human and his own form. Xavier turned around as Setsuna stepped forward, "Let's Freeze Compress him!."
"Okay," said Xavier, "Let's do it."
Persira laughed as she pulled the trigger with her blaster. Pink blasts hit Max as a purple scab hit his vest. Max yelled as he grew ten times bigger. Xavier turned around as he looked at her.
"Max, destroy them!"
A pink aura surrounded her as she disappeared. Max yelled as he unleashed red, purple and black flames all over the lake front. Xavier took a deep breath, knowing he has to do something that could cause pain but will save the world, "Hoot, send 'em."
"Right! Activating Emergency System!"
During the slipstream, the Time Force Zords went through two thousand years of history. As a white light surrounded, the five jets appeared out of Sunyshore City's attractions. Flying across, the Time Force Zords were in a linear formation.
"Time Flyer!" shouted Setsuna.
The Time Flyer, a white and black jet with a blaster on top, materialized from Setsuna's Chrono Morpher, floating over the dock. The five rangers landed on the flyer as they headed straight toward the Time Force Zords. The five rangers jumped down as they landed in their cockpit. As they landed on the ground.
"Megazord Formation, Alpha Mode!"
Iron Valiant folded its weapon as it transformed into an arm with Luxray. Luxray transformed into arm as the tail shrunk, legs folded with a hand forming. The two arms floated across as the Empoleon Zord split into two legs. The head shrunk as the body split. The Torterra Zord shrunk its head and arms, becoming the chest as the tree detached, becoming the shield. The Infernape jumped up as it crossed its arms and legs. The Infernape combined with the Torterra as its head popped up. The other zords connected with it. The tree was held, becoming a shield.
The rangers this time landed in a cockpit, with red lights. Setsuna appeared with her console, "Time Force Megazord Saber!"
A pink blade, similar to Iron Valiant's lance appeared. It was a pink blade with a silver hilt and blue crystal with black and gold lights.
Max released flames from his vest. Using the Time Force shield, the Time Force Megazord charged forward, slashing Max. Max was hit as he landed on the ground. Before Max could attack, an emerald beam struck as Max was hit. Explosions appeared as Max stumbled, trying to catch him.
"I'll handle this," said Xavier.
"Are you sure?" asked Setsuna.
Xavier nodded as he held on to his joystick, "Let's do it."
Xavier turned around as he pressed a button on the joystick. A blue aura surrounded it as a duplicate saber appeared, the same as the Time Force Megazord Saber. Pulling it out, he stretched it out as two blades on either side stretched out, exactly like the Megazord. As the Megazord stretched it, the same thing happened. A green clock appeared behind it as the clouds and skies got darker.
"So, you plan on stopping me. I finally have power! I can beat you, Time Force Blue!" said Max. He jumped up as he charged straight forward. Xavier gulped as he clenched his hands on the Time Force Megazord Saber.
"Sorry, Max… Blizzard Strike!"
A teal aura surrounded the Megazord Saber as it slashed Max. Upon contact, a yellow and green energy slash surrounded the criminal as he screamed. Max froze as Xavier turned to the screen, "Time's up!"
3… 2… 1… FREEZE!
Screaming, Max yelled as he landed on the ground. He shrunk into a miniature, landing on the ground. Xavier stood there in silence as he looked at the ground, "Case closed, dude."
Later that afternoon…
Xavier knelt down as he grabbed the Time Force Badge, containing Max in a capsule. He looked at Setsuna as he turned to the others. He shook his head as he gave the capsule to Setsuna. Setsuna walked forward as Xavier went to sit down on one of the beach chairs. Setsuna sat next to him, "You're going to be okay?"
"I don't know…," he said, looking at Setsuna, "He sold his soul to Capone."
The red ranger turned to him, "That you can't control."
Xavier nodded as he turned around to look at Setsuna. He grinned as he went to put his hands in his pockets, "Well, before I raced Max, at least I did something productive."
"What did you do?" asked Setsuna.
Xavier grinned as he turned to Setsuna, "I passed the online driver's test."
"You did?" asked Setsuna, grinning. Emotionally, she wrapped her arms around him, "I'm proud of you. What's next though?"
"Driving with Officer Jenny," said Xavier.
Setsuna grinned as she looked at him, "Hopefully, not the one that pulled you over."
Xavier turned around as he looked at Max in the capsule and then at Setsuna, "Wait a minute… hold your tongue!"
As Setsuna started heading back to the house, Xavier chased after her as he went inside. When he shut the door behind him, he was interrupted by Inteleon and Electivire, who body slammed him. Xavier laughed as he looked at them, "Hey guys!"
Electivire puffed as he looked at Xavier. Xavier looked at him as yellow sparks surrounded his body, "Inteleon, get out of here! It's his shocking hug!"
Electivire hugged Xavier so tight that a yellow electric shock appeared around him with Electivire smiling. The four rangers were laughing as Xavier was now fried from the electrical pulse. Electivire laughed as he looked at Xavier, "You win…"

A/N: So, that was a chapter I was kind of like… ugh. But, in a way, this was a perfect segway into next chapter. The rangers are going to be in a huge pickle for sure. I basically didn't stick to the plan. I figured it would be the first time we have a present criminal work for Capone, something different than what I wanted to do. As you can see, history in Sinnoh is starting to change. And it was nice to see some true feelings happen… what do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts.
