The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "You have no power over me."
"You sure about that?"
It was getting to the point that she was sure that Barney was pairing them together just to spite them both. Especially since the last few missions that they'd been paired together had ended up with them in the same predicament. Jacoba groaned as she leaned her head back, interrupting their target-turned-detainer from his monologue. God, this was all just so annoying.
The whole premise of this mission was simple enough. Jacoba and Doc go in, obtain the stolen data (Church really loved sending them after data right now, but that was neither here nor there), and get out without being questioned by the target. But, as they all had come to expect by now, everything did not go to plan.
Apparently, the target had a thing for tall women and had insisted that Jacoba come to his office alone, even though she had declined multiple times. This led to Doc putting a knife to the dude's neck in order to get him to stop (an action that Jacoba could feel coming and caused her to shake her head when it finally happened), which in turn led to them being detained and locked in one of the offices listening to the dude drone on. At least they already had the data.
"What makes you think that you can make any noise, woman?"
Rolling her eyes, Jacoba leaned as far forward as she could with her hands "tied" behind her back (really, goons needed to actually thoroughly check for weapons; she'd gotten out of those ages ago) before she answered. "Do you really believe that you are in charge of this situation?"
From beside her, she could hear the big grin that Doc had on his face as he continued looking around the room at all the spaces that the goons had left, since the target had told them all that they could leave the premises. Really, this guy was an idiot and he didn't seem to realize that he was outmaneuvered quite yet.
In fact, he had just gotten up into Jacoba's face. "You have no power over me."
Jacoba smirked, her eyes sparkling with intent. "How sure are you about that?"
A split second later, the target was splayed out on the ground, knocked unconscious as Jacoba and Doc stood above him. Doc turned to his partner. "You know, you can be rather scary sometimes."
Jacoba scoffed before leaning down to tie up the target. "Why don't you help me with him and then we can get the hell out of here?"
"Sounds like a plan. Speaking of, do you have one?"
"When don't I, old man? Good to go?"
"You bet. Let's get out of here."
