Part 3 of the plot line where Church and Jacoba were working together, starting with the chapter entitled "Sniping with Church," and including the chapter entitled "Disappointing Church."
The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Prompt: "Y'know…That's not what an apology sounds like."
"What do you think that they are talking about up there?"
Jacoba looked up from her book to throw a confused look at Caesar, but he was still facing towards the cockpit of Barney's plane. Rolling her eyes, Jacoba leaned around Gunnar to see Church standing in the doorway to the cockpit, clearly conversing with Barney and Lee about something. Leaning back again, she smirked in the heavy weapons specialist's direction. "Who the hell cares, Caesar? Let them have a conversation in peace."
Before Caesar could respond, Church had suddenly appeared in front of Jacoba, causing the Amazon to raise her eyebrow. When he didn't say anything, instead choosing to just stare at her (which was creepy as ell), Jacoba just rolled her eyes again and went back to reading her book, pointedly ignoring the tenseness that she felt in Gunnar's shoulder as she leaned into him.
This continued on for a few more minutes before she heard Church sigh and clear his throat. "Amazon."
Rolling her eyes once again, she looked up and raised an eyebrow at the spy again. "Yes, Michael Weston?"
Now Church was rolling his eyes. "Are you going to keep calling me by different pop culture spy names?"
"I don't know, Austin Powers, what do you think?"
Church groaned as the rest of the team fought to hold back their chuckles. "Anyway, Barney says that you had to go back and set off the detonator."
This shut the rest of the team up as Jacoba just sat there with a smirk on her face. "Well, it was supposed to blow sooner, so I figured that I would check it out."
"Well, I guess you are lucky to be alive, even though I left you, though to be fair you were supposed to follow me out."
Jacoba tilted her head to the right and squinted up at the spy, a frown now crossing her face. "Y'know, Jack Ryan, that's not exactly what an apology sounds like."
"Who said that I was trying to apologize to you?"
Jacoba rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Well, in that case, Agent Smart, I would suggest you find your seat. I believe we are going to be landing soon."
The rest of the team just started to laugh out loud as Church grumbled and walked to a seat. As he sat down, he had to suppress a smile. There was one point where he would have tried to poach Jacoba, but he knew that there was no way that he could convince her to leave the team now. She was most definitely their heart and soul.
