The next morning dawned bright and clear, with the sun glistening off the calm waters as everyone prepared for the swim to the boat stationed a short distance from the shore. The gentle tide promised an easier crossing, and the camp had wisely encouraged everyone to don their swimwear, ensuring they were ready for the adventure ahead.
Brooklynn confidently slipped into her stylish two-piece swimsuit, perfectly showcasing her vibrant personality. The top was a crisp white, contrasting beautifully with the blue shorts that made up the lower half, giving her a fresh and sporty look. Darius, alongside her, sported a pair of bright yellow swim trunks that seemed to radiate sunshine. Although Peter noticed their vibrant color, he thought it best to keep his thoughts about the "Man in the Yellow Hat" to himself—after all, Darius was his good friend.
Sammy donned a striking two-piece set as well, her upper half a bright, cheerful orange that stood out wonderfully against the darker magenta-purple bottoms. She exuded both confidence and fun. Ben, however, seemed hesitant. He lingered at the shoreline, choosing not to change into swimwear, perhaps disinterested in joining the others in the water. It wasn't surprising, given his tendency to shy away from such group activities in the past.
Laura was a unique case; she had never officially visited the island and was something of a creation herself. Lacking a swimsuit, she had 'borrowed' a bright ensemble from the shops along Main Street. Dressed in her makeshift swimwear, she was ready to tackle the waves, while Peter patiently guided her, hoping to teach her both swimming basics and combatting her metal exterior.
Yasmina wore a sleek purple one-piece swimsuit adorned with playful pink stripes that accentuated her athletic build. She paired it with gray swimming shorts for added comfort and style. Meanwhile, Peter chose an all-black swimsuit, accented by a bold red waistband that tied neatly at the front, adding a subtle edge to his appearance.
The boat loomed just out of reach as they approached the water's edge, bobbing gently in the waves. The moment for their adventure was almost at hand, and excitement buzzed in the air.
"Stay sharp." Darius said, "For all we know, Tiff is still in there."
They all swam their way over, with Darius, Brooklynn, Yaz, and Kenji arriving first as Peter and Sammy were helping Laura get the hang of swimming on her own. She struggled for a while, but it was almost like her instincts took over and she began to naturally swim over. Arriving on the boat, they began to sneak around to make sure that there was no sign of Tiff.
Laura sniffed the air and kept her claws ready to fight as she searched the entire boat. Peter walked around the inside of the boat, seeing a large bedroom and bathroom. He caressed a wall, noticing that there were scratch marks on it, meaning that there was likely an encounter with some sort of dinosaur on the ship that got on board either while it was parked or after she was escaping.
"No sign of anyone here," Peter said as he joined Brooklynn and Laura at the back of the boat. "Or anything. Which I am glad to say..."
"Looks like Tiff had some unwanted visitors." Brooklynn guessed, seeing the scratch marks across the whole boat.
"The control panel's busted up." Darius said from the control room. "And so is the radio. And it's almost out of gas."
"Are you sure?" Sammy asked as she approached. "Did you tap it? They always tap it." When she tapped the gas, it went lower showing it was almost empty. "Huh? Well, now we're really sure."
"So, we've got a boat. We just can't use the boat." Ben said from the doorway.
"Okay, the northwest dock is just around that bend," Darius said as he gestured outward. "If we can somehow make it there, maybe we can find more gas and whatever else we need to get us off the island."
That was when Peter heard the doors rattling. He looked over to the door and wondered what was going on. He prepared to fight as he and Laura got ready to fight whatever it was. When the door flung open, it was Kenji who let out a loud shriek.
"Boo!"
Brooklynn screamed in surprise and ran, but she ended up clinging to Peter as he was preparing to defend them from... Kenji. Laura snarled as she retracted her claws when she saw they were safe.
"Gotcha!" Kenji cried with a laugh.
"Kenji!" Peter scoffed.
"Not funny, dude!" Brooklynn tells him as she lets Peter go. "You scared-"
"I know. It was awesome. You should've seen your faces!" Kenji laughed.
Laura snarled as she was preparing to strike him with her claws. "Let me-"
"No, no..." Peter told her as Kenji kept laughing. "We wait until we're alone in the jungle."
"The height of comedy," Ben said sarcastically. "I'm gonna head back to shore. Bumpy and I will meet you at the dock."
"Guess the only question is, who's driving the boat?" Yaz asked as she rolled her eyes at Kenji.
"You mean, whose dad has a yacht club membership and just found this killer hat?" Kenji asked as he showed off the Captain's hat. "Captain Kenji at your service."
"We're all going to die," Laura said with a sigh. Kenji made his way to the control room and began flicking switches as the engine started up. "Yeah! Who's good?
They then brought the boat off towards the shore with Kenji's driving as they reached the dock. As they got closer, Yaz noticed how dangerously close he was getting.
"Easy. Easy." Yaz tried to warn him. "Hold up! Hold up! Hold up!"
The park ended up getting knocked against the dock and got them to shake the entire boat. "Not a bad parking job, if I do say so myself, and I will."
"You don't "park" a boat, dingus," Yaz told him with an annoyed tone as she crossed her arms. "You "dock" it."
"Sure you wanna sass the captain?" Kenji asks. "It's a long swim home."
Yaz snarled as Peter walked up to him with Laura, placing a hand over her shoulder. "Don't worry. Laura and I are planning the mutiny when we leave. We plan to tie him up and throw him in one of the downstairs rooms."
"Count me in on that mutiny," Yaz promised.
That was when they saw Bumpy coming with Ben on top of her with the bag of supplies. Yaz was the first to approach as she took the bag of supplies from Ben and walked off.
"Thanks." Yaz said.
"Hey, friends! How was your walk?" Sammy asked as she approached.
"Great. Zero dinos. And even better, the dock's surrounded by a fence." Ben said as he slid off the back of the dinosar. "I locked up after Bumpy and I came through."
"Hi, Bumpy! Hey, girl." Sammy said as she went to hug the dino as she approached, but to her surrpise she pushed past Sammy and approached Yaz, rubbing against her leg. "Hey Oh, okay."
"Looks like Bumpy might be replacing you, Ben." Peter said from the yacht with a laugh.
"It's getting late." Darius called. "We might as well rest up here. We can scavenge for supplies in the morning."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, pump the brakes, bro!" Kenji called. "Look around! We've got swimsuits, a few hours of sun, and a whole boat at our disposal! If that doesn't scream "yacht party," I don't know what does."
"A what?" Laura asks.
"Basically a time to relax," Peter tried to sum it up to her. "We've got a lot to discuss when we get home."
"Here is what eight years of diving lessons looks like," Yaz said from the roof of the yacht, leaping off the roof and doing a professional dive into the water.
"Here's what running from an Allosaurus, then tripping and falling off a waterfall looks like!" Ben cried as he jumped off and frantically waved his arms and legs as he crashed into the ocean.
"Ooh! Water bottles, beach towels, those fancy, tiny drink umbrellas, sad beach ball." Sammy listed off as she and Laura were going through a box. Then she began to blow up the beach ball.
"Check it: party poppers, Roman candles, tons of yacht rock CDs," Kenji said as he walked out with all of those in his hands. "They might have been evil, but Mitch and Tiff knew how to throw a yacht party."
That was when Sammy tossed the beach ball in his face, causing Kenji to grunt. Sammy laughed and Laura giggled. "Very, very funny." That was when she did it again and again, over and over. "Sammy, would you-" Then he was hit in the face. "Would you-!"
Laura then throws the ball, but her strength is so strong it knocks Kenji overboard. "Was that fun?"
Sammy walked over to the ledge and saw Kenji land safely in the ocean. "He's fine, so I am going to say yes."
Peter, Brooklynn, and Darius were sitting on the chairs at the front of the boat just basking in the sun. "We're not just leaving the island tomorrow, we're leaving in style," Brooklynn told them.
"Yeah, gonna be fun explaining where we got this thing, but who cares?" Peter said as he relaxed. "I will just be glad to be home with my aunt again."
"Gotta admit, I am loving this yacht life," Darius said. "But there is still one thing we need to do before we go prank Kenji back for scaring us."
"Oh, you know I'm down for that," Brooklynn said as she looked at Peter. "Pete?"
"Oh, I am all in for pranking that guy," Peter promised as he leaned back. He picked up a hat he found and placed it over his eyes to put his head in the shade. "Just say when."
Darius began to think of the plan. "Got it! We steal his captain's hat."
"Uh-huh. And then?" Brooklynn asks.
"We don't give it back," Darius stated.
Peter and Brooklynn gave him a look as Peter sat up and removed the hat, raising a brow.
"Yeah, lame. Sorry." Darius said. "When you've got a brother like Brand, you're usually the prank victim, not the prank planner."
"Yeah, try growing up as an only child," Peter said with a sigh. He then looked over to see Laura was enjoying herself and laughed. "But I guess things worked out."
"It's gotta be something epic or he'll never leave us alone," Brooklynn stated. "What if we slowly and methodically make Kenji believe he never existed? Then, just when he's on the verge of total madness, we'll be like, "Gotcha!""
That got a bit of a disturbed look from Darius and Peter. "Okay, you slightly terrify me."
"Might be too intense?" Brooklynn guessed. "Maybe we-"
That was when several small explosions went off, causing Brooklynn to shriek and jump backward. Darius fell off his chair as Brooklynn fell and ended up tripping on Peter's chair and rolling them both off. They fell over and looked up to see Kenji throwing poppers down at them, which was what was causing the explosions. He laughed at them panicking and tossed some more.
"Seriously, Kenji?" Darius asks.
"I know, right?" Kenji asked with a laugh. "Too easy! Too easy!"
Brooklynn looked down at Peter, who winced at the sudden weight and then looked to see Brooklynn in the eyes. They were so close that they could feel one another's breath, causing their cheeks to blush red.
"Uh, sorry," Brooklynn said as she tried to get off him.
"Yeah, it's fine," Peter said as Brooklynn climbed off of him. "Okay, forget what I said. All ideas are back on the table."
"The more intense, the better." Darius agreed as they placed sunglasses on.
Sammy was dragging a bucket of clean water towards Bumpy. "Here you go, Bumpy!" She said as she pushed the bucket to the dino with a small umbrella in her hair. "I know how thirsty you big critters can get hanging out in the sun all day." That was when she took the umbrella out of her hair and placed it into the bucket. "Oops, almost forgot." That was when she saw Bumpy just stare at her and then take the umbrella back. "Actually, that's a choking hazard, so I'm just gonna keep the umbrella. Enjoy!"
Laura walked over and saw that Bumpy just laid down with a thud. "Everything okay here?"
"Us? Oh, yeah! Bumpy and I are having all the fun!" Sammy said as Bumpy immediately got up and walked over to the yacht where Yaz was. Laura then gave her a look with a raised brow. "Okay, sorry, but big animals are kind of my thing. Well, you ever think that Bumpy just isn't that into me?"
"So, you are jealous about an animal liking someone over you?" Laura asked, looking over towards Bumpy and Yaz. I... am not fluent in human activity. I am still trying to figure that out, but from what I have gathered, that is a little... ridiculous?"
"Ridiculous?" Sammy asks.
"Come on, it's just a dinosaur." Laura shrugged. "They are nothing like what you keep on your farm." She then shrugged with a bit of a coy smile. "'Course, you might just be losing your touch."
Sammy was shocked to hear that and then grew a grin. "Challenge accepted." She then rubbed her hands and eyed Bumpy. "Bumpy, you will be mine."
Laura looked between the two of them and just shrugged, not sure about what she just caused, and just decided to walk off.
"Come on, there's gotta be something in here we can scare Kenji with," Brooklynn said as she and Darius searched through a box as the sun began to set. "Like these fireworks."
"Eyes up, yo!" Kenji called, getting the two of them to jump up and hide the fireworks. "Captain on deck."
"Oh, hey, Cap. I mean, Kenji." Darius said.
"Just checking in on my crew," Kenji said. "What are you two up to?"
"Oh! We were just saying that it's starting to get should probably wrap up the party." Brooklynn lied.
"Yeah, so we can be fresh to get supplies in the morning," Darius added.
"You expect me to buy that?" Kenji asked, getting them to worry. Then he showed some small candles that were battery-powered. "When we've got these babies?! Already put 'em out on deck. Yacht party saved!"
That was when they heard a thud, getting them all to shriek as the boat shook. "What was that?"
"We couldn't have hit something," Peter said.
"Oh, no!" Sammy said from the ledge, getting them to run over and see that there was a hole in the side of the boat.
"This won't wait 'til tomorrow," Peter said as he got a close look at it. "We gotta patch this tonight before the boat sinks."
"So, web it with your silly string," Kenji shrugged.
Peter scoffed and looked offended when he called it that. "My dad's super complex formula that's a miracle to science?" He asked in a sarcastic tone. "It only lasts for two hours, and we don't really have a timer set to remind us unless you wanna wake up in the middle of the ocean. And I don't really know how much of this stuff that I have to last us all the way to the mainland."
"There's gotta be tools or boating supplies we can scavenge." Brooklynn said as she looked to the docks.
"Let's hurry. It's getting dark and the fog's rolling in." Darius said. "We should split up so we can cover more ground."
"Laura, you go with Sammy. I'll go with-"
"Darius and Brooklynn," Kenji said as he walked ahead. "I am a solo flyer. It's not like there are any dinos out here."
"I'll take Bumpy then," Yaz said as they walked ahead into the fog-covered area.
"Remember to keep an eye out for Kenji," Brooklynn said as they walked onto the docks as the fog rolled in. "I wouldn't put it past him to scare us again, especially in the dark."
"Good looking out," Darius said. "Any chance your senses will warn you this time?"
"They don't seem to depict Kenji as a threat." Peter shrugged with a sigh. "We're going to have to deal with it."
"After we find a patch for the boat, we can prank him back," Darius said.
"Game on." Kenji happened to overhear since the fog and darkness were too thick to see one another.
Everyone began to search the area for anything useful. There were a few vehicles, but there was no gas to drive them anywhere for it to be of any use to them.
"Gas cans!" Sammy cried as she ran over to pick them up. "Dang it! They're empty."
"But that is good to use to get gas, right?" Laura asks.
"Sure," Sammy said.
They heard a moan as they saw Bumpy come past with Yaz leading her off. "Come on, Bumpster. Let's search over here."
"She gave her a nickname?" Sammy sounded offended.
"Really?" Laura asked her with her arms crossed. "Are we still on this?"
"No..." Sammy said as Laura walked off. "Maybe..."
Yaz walked over to a few crates and tried to pru them open with Bumpy moaning. "Just chill, Bumpy. This could take a while..." That was when she looked back and noticed there was no sign of her. "Bumpy?"
Kenji was wandering around on his own when he heard a noise. "Brooklynn? Darius?" That was when he thought that this might be them trying to trick him. "Whatever you're plotting, it's not gonna work." He then went around, searching the area to see where they were hiding. Then he pushed a box between some crates and leaped over to hide. "Can't scare me if you can't find me."
Darius was looking around and bumped into the fence, groaning when he spotted a box in the distance. Opening it up he was shocked to see that there was some tape and was relieved. Until he looked upward and gasped when he saw that the fence was broken down.
Laura was with Sammy searching when she began to smell something off in the area. She looked around, trying to see through the fog but then snarled as she snikt out her claws. Sammy jumped when she heard Laura prepare herself for a fight.
"Laura?" Sammy whispered in fear.
"Something is out here," Laura warned her. "We need to-"
That was when they heard Bumpy moan in the distance. "Bumpy, is that you?" She asked as she tried to see through the fog. "Are you lost in the fog, girl?"
Bumpy groaned as Laura looked around.
"Sit tight, we're coming your way," Sammy said as she walked ahead.
"Seriously?" Laura asked as she sighed and followed Sammy.
Peter was punching the locks off the containers he came across, and he felt his senses alert him to something, getting him to look around. As he did so, Brooklynn came up across a building and tried to open it with the keycard when she saw it was a normal lock.
"Oh, come on!" Brooklynn groaned. "What good is a secret keycard to the entire island if you can't use it on the entire island?" She then started to try and pick the lock when Darius came across and touched her shoulder. "Darius!" She shrieked when she saw him. "The plan was to scare Kenji, not me!"
"Something broke through the fence," Darius warned her. "We all need to get to the boat now!"
Brooklynn gasped as she looked up. "Peter?"
"I'm here," Peter said, revealing to be behind them, causing them to shriek. "Sorry. Yeah, my senses went off a little, so we should hurry to find the others."
"Come on, I think it's this way." Brooklynn said as they walked off.
They made their way through the fog, just missing Kenji as he ran off and hid behind some crates. "See anyone?" Brooklynn asks.
"I can barely see you guys." Darius said.
"Sammy? Yaz? Anybody?" Peter whispered just when Ben came running and bumped into Peter. "Oh, there's Ben."
"Hey," Ben said.
That was when they heard a groan come from the fog and they saw dinosoars coming out. They were Ouranosaurus who growled at the sight of the kids.
"It's okay. They're just Ouranosauruses." Darius assured them. "They're big, but they're pretty much harmless."
That was when the Ouranosauruses' roared at the kids, charging towards them. Peter quickly shot out a barricade of webbing to slow them down as they turned and ran for it.
"Do they know that?!" Ben asked as they ran.
"This way!" Brooklynn leads them as they turned a corner. "Hurry!"
Yaz was searching around when she saw a crowbar and saw she could use that to open the crates. That was when a Ouranosauruses came out of the fog and started to shove the crates around. Yaz started to panic and hid as she didn't know what the Ouranosauruses wanted. When the creature came up and sniffed her, it got her worried as she got up and ran. When she did, she happened to run into the second one and just climbed up the crate.
The Ouranosauruses' circled her and still seemed interested in getting her as they climbed up the crates. Yaz climbed up the other crate, which only ended with the Ouranosauruses' beginning to rattle it.
Peter's senses went off, alerting him his friends were in danger and looking through the fog. "Yaz!"
"Peter?!" Yaz looked around, wondering where he was. "Help!"
"Hang on!" Peter ran as he climbed up a crate. "I'm coming!"
Peter then leaped into the air, shooting a web to cause the Ouranosauruses to back off in surprise. He then shot two webs and launched himself toward Yaz and grabbed her, sliding downward and landing on the ground. Yaz clutched to Peter, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and her legs around his waist.
"Thanks for the help," Yaz told him with relief. "You don't mind if I cling a little longer, do you?"
"Uh... I guess not," Peter shrugged as he then looked around. "Where are Laura, Sammy, and Kenji?"
"Yo, Darius!" Kenji called through the fog. "Brooklynn! Truce? Nice try with the scary noises and all, but..." They started to follow his voice as Yaz clung to Peter. "Okay fun's over." He then heard the Ouranosauruses around him. "Who's out there?"
Then the Ouranosauruses revealed themselves, causing Kenji to shriek in terror and fall backward. Peter shot out several webs to spook the creature as it ran off, trying to pry the webbing off his face.
"Kenji, where are the others?" Yaz asks him.
"I don't know!" Kenji cried as he ran and clung to Peter as well.
"Okay, I might start charging for services of being the emotional support," Peter informed this group. That was when they heard the Ouranosauruses returning. "But for now, just hold on!"
They ran through the fog and Peter ended up running into Brooklynn, causing the others to fall off of him. They all groaned as Darius and Ben stood with surprise.
"You're okay!" Darius said with relief.
"Yep. Brooklynn broke my fall," Peter said as he got up and sighed. "Sorry."
"Don't mention it," Brooklynn said as she sighed. "Wait, where's Sammy and Laura?"
Sammy was walking through the fog while searching for Bumpy. They walked through the fog until Sammy touched something that wasn't metallic or Laura.
"There you are." Sammy was relieved to find Bumpy who groaned. "Don't be scared. Just settle." She then sighed and saw Bumpy wasn't being calm. "Let's get you back to Ben and Yaz."
Laura then sensed something coming and shrieked, causing Sammy to jump as she spun around and impaled her claws into the Ouranosauruses. The creature roared in pain as Laura leaped onto its back and started to strike it over and over. That was when the second Ouranosauruses came out and came after Sammy. Bumpy jumped in the middle, trying to intimidate the Ouranosauruses before getting into a fight to spook the two off as Laura leaped off the second one.
"Oh, good girl! Let's go!" Sammy said to Bumpy as she ran off. Laura and Bumpy walked in the opposite direction, having better instincts than Sammy. "That way works too!"
"We can smell the others." Laura explained. "They should be-"
"Guys!" Peter cried in relief as he ran over to Sammy and Laura with the others behind him. "Nice screaming. It was easy to find you."
"Glad I could help," Laura said sarcastically.
"We gotta get on that boat and cast off." Darius said.
"What about the hole?" Kenji asks.
"We'll figure something out." Darius said.
"And then? Where do we go?" Laura wonders.
"Anywhere but here." Yaz proclaimed.
"Come on, it's this way."
"No, it's that way."
"We just came from that way."
"Guys?" Laura called, gesturing in another direction with the lights. "I believe it would be that way."
"Party yacht for the win!" Kenji cried.
Everyone then ran towards the boat as they noticed that the Ouranosauruses were catching up. They didn't care as they then began to use the tape to patch the hole up
"Go! Go! Go!"
"We've got to patch this thing." Darius said as he showed the tape to Brooklynn. "Can you do anything with this tape?"
"Only everything!" Brooklynn said.
"Here!" Peter said as he showed various items to plug up the hole.
They got to work shoving everything into the hole to at least keep it standing in the water.
"This won't hold long, but it's all we got," Darius said.
"Okay, now come on!" Peter said, sticking to the side of the boat with both hands stretched out.
Brooklynn and Darius took his hands as they climbed onto the boat while Kenji drove them out into the open water. They took a second of relief when suddenly they were met with a knock on the side of the boat and saw that the Ouranosauruses were swimming at them.
"Oh, they can swim?" Sammy asks.
"Oh, come on, that's gotta be cheating!" Peter cried in anger.
"We can't outrun them," Brooklynn said.
"Then maybe we could scare them off!" Darius got an idea.
Then running across the boat, they took the fireworks and then began to set them off, spooking the Ouranosauruses away and back to shore.
"Bye-bye, swimming dinos!" Sammy cheered.
"Didn't get to scare Kenji, but I'll count this as a win," Darius said.
"The day isn't over yet, my little friend," Peter promised him.
The next day, they were drifting on the sea with little to no gas left in the boat. Sammy approached Bumpy with a sigh of relief.
"Heck, yeah!" Sammy cheered. "There's my hero!"
But Bumpy only moaned and moved back over to Yaz for affection.
"Okay, I gotta ask." Sammy has finally had enough of this. "How on Earth did you get Bumpy to like you so much?"
"Easy. I carry around snacks in my pocket." Yaz said as she revealed the berries in her pocket. "Kind of a habit I got into while running."
Sammy was shocked to hear that. "So, you were just messing with me?"
"Hey, don't look at me, it was Laura's idea," Yaz said, gesturing to Laura.
Sammy looked over to Laura with a shocked expression. "Laura?!"
"Hey, you guys were the ones who showed me messing with others it's funny," Laura said with a sly grin. "I was just following your example."
Sammy laughed a little. "Whoo. For a minute there, I thought I was losing my mojo."
Laura rolled her eyes as she walked into the boat. "Nope. Just the first prank done by me. Not so bad if I say so."
"A bit slow, but not bad," Yaz commented as she walked off.
"I cut the engine to save whatever fuel's left," Kenji said. "We are officially adrift."
"It still doesn't make sense," Darius said. "First, the Compies disappear from camp. Then peaceful herbivores attack us and take over the dock, an area they shouldn't care about?"
"Things are definitely getting next-level weird around here," Brooklynn said.
"Yeah. "Dinos never go bonkers at Jurassic World," said no one ever." Kenji scoffed.
"It's more than that, it's like the island's out of balance somehow," Darius said.
"Could it be the Cross-Species?" Peter asks. "Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion...? Maybe Kraven?"
"No, this is something more," Darius said.
That was when a sudden, jarring bang echoed behind them, prompting a sudden spin of their bodies in alarm. The air was thick with tension as they strained to listen. The sound of claws scraping against the walls sent a chill down their spines, and dread filled their expressions as they instinctively retreated, eyes wide with fear. From the shadows, two menacing claws loomed, glinting ominously in the low light.
In a moment of sheer panic, Kenji let out a piercing scream, his heart racing as the creature drew closer. He stumbled backward in terror, losing his footing and tumbling off the edge of the boat with a loud splash that sent ripples across the water. As he gasped for air, the creature emerged from the shadows, revealing itself in a burst of laughter. It was just Laura, her face alight with mischief, accompanied by Darius, Brooklynn, and Peter, who were all in on the elaborate prank.
Kenji groaned, the realization washing over him like the cold water he had just fallen into. It was all just a playful scheme to get back at him, and the relief was almost palpable, despite his embarrassment.
"Got ya!" Brooklynn cheered.
"Don't mess with us Hybrids," Peter said as he gave Laura a bump on the shoulder. "Because we hit back."
"Ha-ha, guys, a little childish wouldn't you say?" Kenji asked, the irony somehow lost to him.
"How do I respond to that?" Peter asks the two.
