After the debacle with Qwark, the Mane 6, Ratchet, Clank, Ben, Hilda, and Ema returned to the penthouse apartment back in Megaopolis along with Angela. It was sad to bid farewell to Hedwig, who was being adopted by one of the kids that the girls had befriended during their stay on Yeedil. Despite that, Fluttershy knew that Hedwig and the kid would get along just fine.
Mr. Fizzwidget after assessing the damages Qwark had done to Megacorp while disguised as him, and being quite surprised to find not that many, had allowed the family to keep everything Qwark had given to them while impersonating him. As for Qwark himself, he was in intensive care back on Yeedil, having suffered multiple broken bones from shielding the Mane 6 and Hedwig from the collapsing building.
And so, things began to mellow out. Twilight managed to invite many of her scientist companions from Gadgetron to talk things out with the scientists at Megacorp in order to fix certain flaws in each other's designs. Overall, the partnership was proving quite fruitful and Rarity was even able to start a line of cosmetics for the Protopets which were a huge hit with the kids, not to mention the pets themselves.
Angela herself was also impressed by everything Autumn had created so far and everything she had planned, as her time in Bogon had inspired several new weapons and gadgets, as in the new line of Gadgetron weaponry that would bear her name, and while she was designing the next RYNO, the RY3NO as she called it, Angela found that she was also beginning to research new things for the next few versions.
The leader of Thugs-4-Less, after his defeat at Ratchet and the gang's hands on the planet Snivelak at the Thug HQ, had dropped the contract Qwark had made with him that overrides Angela's original one. He was surprisingly cordial with the heroes but promised the next time someone put a bounty on their heads, he and his group would collect.
"Bring it on!" Ratchet, Hilda, and Ben all smirked at that declaration.
During the downtime, Angela spent some time with Ratchet, seeing what he did when he wasn't trying to save the galaxy, or one of them anyway, but she was conflicted over what she should do with her life, as should she continue working for Megacorp or should she join Ratchet and the others in being a hero.
On top of that, there was something very concerning she needed to discuss with Ratchet and the rest of the family regarding why she went to great lengths to keep her identity secret, and sure enough, that day would come one peaceful afternoon.
"So, Angela, how are things with you and Daddy?" Twilight asked as the Female Lombax was brushing her mane.
Angela flinched visibly. "Twilight...I really didn't want to talk with you or the rest of the girls until I'd talked with Ratchet about this..."
"Well, Pops is out getting groceries with Clank and Ema right now." Rainbow said "You can talk with us. We're great listeners!"
"And Papa Ben and Mama Hilda are..." Pinkie winced as she tried to find the words. "Exploring their relationship further."
Angela winced. "Yeah...the thing is...I'm not sure it'd be safe if I stayed with you guys."
"Why not?" Rarity asked. "You're both Lombaxes, aren't you-"
Angela shushed the unicorn girl. "Don't say that! Don't ever say that! You have no idea how dangerous that information is!"
"D-Dangerous?" Fluttershy asked nervously.
"A comment that cryptic usually comes with a tale or two," Applejack noted. "Ya got somethin' to tell us?"
"Look...there's...a danger. Something that makes it not safe to be a Lombax. Ratchet is safe enough in Solana and hasn't made a big enough name for himself to draw attention, especially with how young he is." Angela explained. "I'm a different story. I don't dare draw attention to myself, and two known Lombaxes would draw attention like nobody's business, and I'm old enough to draw attention all on my own if I was known."
"You mean some kind of bad guy has it out for you?" Rainbow asked. "Is it like some super secret arch-enemy of the Lombaxes that nobody knows about or something?"
"You could say that..." Angela said. "And after everything we've been through, I...I don't know, I just don't want you guys being put in unnecessary danger."
"Danger? After everything we've been through?" Pinkie giggled. "We laugh at danger!"
"Angela, whatever this threat you're talking about is...we'll protect you. You have a place with us." Twilight gently assured the Female Lombax.
"Oh, hey, Angela!" Hilda greeted as she and Ben came down, their hair disheveled and their clothes loose. "So...what's cooking?"
"Mother, Father, PLEASE be more properly dressed!" Rarity admonished.
Angela watched as the Mane 6 scolded their adoptive parents and couldn't help but feel a spring of hope well inside her heart after so many years of being alone.
The following day, there was another knock on the door. Clank opened it, revealing a suave looking bearded sophont with yellow skin, dressed in a dark brown jacket and blue shirt.
"Clank, baby, there you are!" He said eagerly, shaking Clank's hand. "I've been looking all over for you! Have I got the deal of a lifetime for you!"
Clank stared. "I'm sorry, but I don't believe we've met. Who are you?"
"Derek Tovid, biggest director in Solana and Bogon! Here's my card!" The man introduced himself as he handed over a business card. "But let's get to business, Clank baby! I want to make you a star!"
"A...star?" Clank asked, surprised.
"What are you talking about?" Ratchet asked curiously, everyone else in the family looking intrigued.
"I've got this brand new Holovision series lined up, and it's just perfect for you! Take a look at this!"
-SECRET AGENT CLANK-
"Secret Agent Clank?" Hilda asked.
"You got that right, missy! Clank, the suave, debonair, super spy versus anything the forces of evil, and the writer's imagination and film budget, can throw at you! I'll make you the star everyone wants to see! What do you say?"
Clank hummed. "Is it alright for the rest of my family to participate as well?"
Derek looked over at Ratchet. "Hmm...well, I suppose I can work him in somehow. Any super-spy needs a staff."
"So you want to make Ratchet the Alfred to Clank's Batman?" Ben asked. "And what about me? Can I be the wisecracking detective guy?"
"Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking!" Derek said. "And your big mama friend here can be the sultry femme fatale! And besides, it'll be good to show more body diversity!"
"Awww yeah!" Hilda smirked. "Just as long as I'm hooking up with the detective."
"And I guess I can be his woman in the chair." Ema noted. "That or the mentor figure."
"Of course! You could be the head executive that Secret Agent Clank answers to!" Derek smiled.
"Oh! What about us?" Pinkie asked. "Can we be the sidekicks?!"
"Yeah! Yeah!" Twilight chimed in. "We can be the Penny to his Inspector Gadget! The Jade to his Jackie!"
"Ah, I see you kids are pretty cultured!" Derek beamed before rubbing his chin. "Though I'm not so sure..."
"It would really bring in the parents-with-kids crowd since it gives the kids someone to identify with," Ratchet pointed out.
Derek shrugged. "We'll give it a reel and see what happens."
By the time the pilot episode aired, Secret Agent Clank was the hot new show in Solana and Bogon. Clank was the dashing secret agent, Ratchet was his faithful chauffeur, butler, and confidante with Angela starring as Ratchet's character's love interest. Ben was the detective friend on the force with Hilda as the femme fatale anti-hero who toed the line between good and evil yet had Ben's heart all the same and Ema acted as Clank's mission control and the big secret agency head he reported to.
As for the Mane 6, Twilight was the smart and spunky little girl sidekick who never stays home when she's told, sometimes has to be rescued, but also sometimes bails Clank out. The rest of the girls were her best friends who in some episodes got roped into whatever adventures she was tailing Clank on.
Just a nice little filler to let our heroes unwind after everything before we get into the Up Your Arsenal Arc! Where we will finally confront Dr. Nefarious himself!
Also, Angela is now a permanent member of the family. The Mane 6 just have that kind of effect.
