"So then, after the scorpion, the demon opened my mouth and sucked some kind of weird light out of me. And the worst part? I wake up, and there's Kathy staring at me like I'm some kind of freak."

The Scooby gang had met up in the college main hall after Buffy had called them all together to talk about a strange dream she had about a demon. They each had a seat and were looking at the Slayer in concern and confusion.

"Well, actually the worst part, I'd have to go with the demon pouring the blood down your throat," Oz said from his seat opposite side of Buffy.

Everyone nodded in agreement with the werewolf, "but that's just a dream, and this Kathy thing is real," Buffy shot back, "I mean, all she cared about was that her precious sleep had been disturbed."

"Perhaps it would be more productive to examine your dreams," Giles began his usual teachings as Kathy walked over to them, "um, determine their meaning."

"You can read dreams?" Kathy said in her chipper voice, "that's neat."

"Giles, Kathy, Kathy, Giles."

"He's our grown-up friend," Willow chimed in before realising what she said, "uh, not in a creepy way."

Eris snorted, "nice save Willow" she looked up to Kathy, "he's the father figure of the group, friend of the family."

Giles got up and gave the roommate a handshake, "nice to meet you, Kathy."

"Ditto. Maybe you can read the dream I had last night. There was, like, this monster, and he sat on me and did all this stuff to me."

"Stuff like scorpions and Bloody Mary, minus the Mary?" Oz asked, which earned him a surprised agreement from Kathy.

"That's it. How'd you know?"

"Well, I'm a good guesser."

"Me too!" Buffy shot in quickly, not wanting to deal with her roommate at all, "and I'm guessing that you need to be on your way to class, right, Kath?"

Kathy didn't react to Buffy's tone, merely giggled instead, "sounds like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning."

Buffy was not having it however, "and guess what, you were next to it."

Eris leaned in, and whispered a harsh, "Buffy enough," to her cousin, scolding her for her words. She knew Kathy was a bit much, but she didn't think Buffy needed to act like that.

Kathy however, seemed unperturbed by Buffy's sudden aggression, "you know, I do need to dash. My whole schedule's off because someone kept me up all night," that earned an eye roll from Buffy, "well, it's been fun. Toodles."

Once she was gone and completely out of ear shot, Giles got back in to business, "you know what this means?" he asked.

"Yes. Not only does she take my sweater, but now she has to horn in on my dreams," everyone watched on as Buffy went back on her Kathy tirade, "she is the most ever mooch…oh, I haven't even gotten to the floss."

"Buffy, focus, please?" Giles caught her attention, hoping to slow her down, "now, if Kathy and you are having the same nightmares, chances are something happened to you both when you met the demon in the woods."

Willow nodded her head in agreement, "so, we need to figure out if this ritual they're dreaming about has some special use or meaning."

Buffy, still not seaming to care about the demonic side of things, hopped up from her chair, "cool. You guys can do the brain thing, I'm gonna go to class."

"Which could also be construed as the brain thing."

"Not when you're minoring in Napping 101," Buffy shortly after left to head to said napping class.

"Okay, so that was the evil twin, right?" Willow said to the rest of the group, "cause she was bordering on Eris- I mean Cordelia-esque."

Eris snorted, "I heard that slip up. But you're right she is being as bitchy and uncaring as I usually am."

"Well, she's definitely pushing the stress meter on this Kathy thing." Oz spoke up as Giles moved closer to the group to speak more privately.

"I concur that's she not, uh, herself, but you know, uh, learning to live with someone can be a challenge."

"And she hasn't been sleeping."

"I don't think this is sleep related," Eris said in concern, "she's had sleepless nights before and she's had to learn to live with me and didn't have this problem, are we sure we shouldn't be worried?"

Giles shook his head, "I don't think there is anything to get too concerned about," he did take a moment to think about what Eris said before speaking again, "still, uh, let me know if she, um…"

"Hits the red zone?" Oz said helpfully.

"Yes."

"I can always talk to her a bit more if that helps?" Eris asked, "she might open up to older cousin."

"Good idea, it might be good to get more information that doesn't involve Kathy."

"I'll try Giles but she seems very focused," Eris stood from her chair and put her bag over her shoulder, "I'll talk to you all later," They said their goodbyes and all headed separate ways.

Eris was grabbing a coffee to drink before she had to go to her next class, hoping the caffeine could help keep her awake. Last nights activity was exhausting, "let me guess, you're hoping coffee will help you focus on class?"

She turned around to see Graham in the line with her, "oh hey, Graham, long time no see, and perhaps that is the reason."

"That might be the reason why I'm grabbing one also," he said with a chuckle, "maybe sometime we could grab a coffee for a reason other than focusing in class?"

Eris raised an eyebrow, "you mean, together?"

"Yea, have a coffee date, get to know each other."

"You want to go on a date with me?" she said in surprise, usually dates weren't what men asked her for. Though she supposed Sunnydale men weren't like LA men.

"I would," he replied in a confident voice, "you're funny and very attractive but I'd like to get to know you a little more than just between class chats."

She let a soft smile grace her face and nodded, "I'd love to go on a date with you, preferably to an actually café and not a coffee van."

"Of course, I know a good café near the campus, nice coffee's that wont burn your tongue or taste like overcooked coffee beans, how about tomorrow or the day after?"

Eris let a brief flash of Spike pass her mind, reminding her of her current affair. Though that was all that was, an affair, but Graham wasn't wanting that kind of affair so she didn't see an issue with going on a date with him. So, with a smile, she said, "the day after sounds great!"

"Great, I can meet you there?"

"Sounds like a plan," they finished their talk as they both reached the van, Graham had kindly paid for her drink and ended up walking her to her next class before leaving for his own.

Seeing Buffy tied up and yelling at Oz, Xander and Giles was not what Eris was expecting when she was called over to Giles' house after classes. "Giles, ow! Giles look at my bag! Look at the bottom pocket of my bag!"

"Why do you have my cousin tied up?" she asked as she closed the door behind her.

"Eris, go look at my bag too, help me out!" Buffy shouted back frantically. As Gile's began rummaging through her bag she continued, "she has parts that keep growing after they're detached!"

"Are we talking about Kathy?" Eris headed over to Giles to look at the back with him.

"Yes! She irons her jeans. She's Evil. She has to be destroyed."

"Sounds like a plan," they finished their talk as they both reached the van, Graham had kindly paid for her drink and ended up walking her to her next class before leaving for his own.

"Lite FM, Love songs. Nothing but love songs!"

Xander looked to Giles, "you think?"

"What do we do Giles?" Eris looked at the Watcher and the Slayer in immense worry.

"Um, you stay and watch her. I, I know a spell that will make the possessing demon reveal itself so that we can fight it, but I need to get some supplies from the magic shop. Buffy, I…See you around," Giles hurriedly grabbed a bag and left, leaving the others to watch a now pouting Buffy.

"I can't believe this. After all that we've been through together, and you guys won't believe me when I tell you that Kathy is bad." She said angrily then looked to Eris, "my cousin, my own flesh and blood won't even help me."

"We want to, Buff. Its just-"

Oz hushed Xander, "don't engage."

Eris looked distressed as she looked at her thrashing cousin, "I don't know if this is a good idea."

"I don't know if I tightened those ropes enough," Xander shot back.

"Well, then we'd better go over there and check 'em."

Xander laughed before realising Oz was serious, "oh, dear God."

"I'm not getting close to a pissed off Slayer," Eris said with her hands raised in the air in a surrender pose.

"You stay," Xander replied, "Oz, Avoid the legs." They both slowly moved closer to Buffy, "Avoid. The. Legs," it was all useless however as Buffy had already gotten out of the restraints and slammed both their heads together, knocking them out at the same time.

"Nope. Not tight enough." Buffy said before turning to her cousin, "need me to knock you out too?"

Eris pursed her lips, "you can't do this Buffy, what if you end up killing an innocent?"

"I know she's evil, and you can't stop me," Buffy ran forward to attempt to knock Eris out, the ravenette however put up a fight, "stop it! I will put you down!"

"I have to at least try to stop you!" Eris wasn't going to win of course, she tried her best to pin her cousin to the ground, but she was, after all, the Slayer, and without too much hassle Buffy kicked Eris right in the stomach and sent her crashing into a wall. She laid on the ground, curled into a fetal position and holding her pained stomach as Buffy ran out of the house to go and attack Kathy.

It was later found out that Buffy was right all along, and that Kathy was a demon that was performing a ritual on Buffy's dreams with the intent to kill her.

None of them were going to distrust Buffy ever again. Though it did end in both Willow and Buffy being roommates, so at least there was a happy ending.
