Brief History:

According to what little records exist, Henry was born to a minor noble family that lived in a rural area of the Clover Kingdom, a kingdom in the first half of the Grand Line, but that is about it as there are no records of any formal education or other trappings of personhood that one would expect to exist for a person born into the nobility there. However, since his emergence as a pirate with the Black Bull Pirates, a few things have been gleamed about his past which would explain the lack of records.

Said lack of records appear to stem from the current theory that Henry was born with some kind of illness or disease, one that can't be cured and which left him bedridden and thus unable to leave his home. What this condition is, is unclear but from the investigation conducted after the Elf Pirate Incident that found his parents, Henry's condition causes him to slowly drain the energy of those around him to keep himself alive.

In an attempt to cure him, his parents presented him with the Recom-Recom Fruit, a Devil Fruit who's consumer can control the dwelling that he calls home in hopes that that connection it forged between his body and home would keep him alive. This apparently failed and his parents eventually gave up and left him alone to die as they could no longer take it.

Clearly that didn't happen as Henry reappeared in Clover during the Elf Pirate Incident controlling his old home and making it move as if it was some giant robot thing like the Navy has come to expect from Dr. Vegapunk only made of bricks and mortar and not metal. Of course, something like this is well within the expected parameters of a Devil Fruit so it's not too surprising and it was used to great effect during the incident, even being used to hold off three of the Elf Pirate junior officers at one point as well as to transport several Black Bulls to the Capital where the final confrontation went down.

It is actually from prison interviews with the captured Elf Pirate officers who engaged Henry and a few other Black Bulls, that the Navy has learned that shortly after Yami Sukehiro decided to form a crew on Clover and take to the seas as a pirate he went in search of a crew members with a shipwright high on his list. How he came upon Henry's place and discovered that he was alive is still unknown, but he did and when he learned of what Henry could do he offered Henry a spot on his crew as his shipwright having realized that with the right hull, Henry could change his home into a ship's body able to sail the seas of the Grand Line.

Obviously Henry accepted the offer and it is believed that he was the second recruit to Yami's crew after his Vice Captain Nacht. They would recruit one more person on Clover, their navigator Roulacase Finral, before Henry was able to use his powers to create their ship, the Raging Black Bull, and set sail. It is because of Henry's powers that the ship design of the Raging Black Bull is never 100% consistent and due to its unique origin, it is one of the few known pirate ships not owned by the ship's Captain.

All of this was learned because of the Elf Pirate Incident as prior to it Henry's identity or presence on the crew had been unknown to the World Government despite the crews rising notoriety both before but especially after the recruitment of Asta, the Black Devil. Now Henry's presence on the crew is known, though due to the limitations he has, it appears that he cannot be far from his home, his bounty was set at 13 million berries in the wake of the incident and hasn't changed since.

Seeing as the Raging Black Bull was spotted on Sabaody during the incident caused by Straw Hat Luffy's assault of Saint Charloss, for which none of the Black Bulls were part off though Yami and Asta engaged Admiral Kizaru in battle when he came to arrest Straw Hat Luffy, it can be deduced that he was present on the archipelago though was not actively involved in the events there the way his Captain and crewmates Asta, Noelle, and Nero were. Regardless, he is still a pirate and a capable one at that so long as he's on his ship and so should be considered dangerous and brought in as soon as possible.
