Post Departure: Max, Michael, Isabel and Tess left Earth so that Tess and Max's child could be born. Five years later they've returned to a place very different than the one they've left. Liz, Maria and Kyle are grown up with secrets of their own, along with a few familiar yet unknown faces.

This is how I think it would have happened - Michael and Maria finally making an official commitment to each other in their own trademark way without the church and the white puffy dress. I took some inspiration from a discussion I had on Tumblr, and this fic emerged. It's taken me a long time to piece this together, so I hope I've done Michael & Maria justice!

None of the characters belong to me except for the original characters like Henry, Sam, Paris, Athens and Benjamin. SPOILERS: This story comes right after "Viva Las Vegas" in Season 2. During the episode 'Chant Down Babylon', Maria was in Vermont with Liz and Michael was desperately trying to help save Isabel's life in Roswell. There appeared to be several missed scenes of phone calls between Michael and Maria in which they were keeping each other in the loop. Here's my interpretation of those.

This is a little one-shot fic I've written as a sort of bridging scene between the Ch-ch-changes and Panacea episodes.
