Chapter XXII: The Library Moving

X—X

"Master Sylvia?"

Ivy poked her head out from the bookshelf she was taking books from to see Albus. "Yeah?"

"A... multitude of rather colorful people are at the door. I've already called your husband to come to greet them."

"Thank you, Albus!"

She ran out of the library and across the hall, down the stairs, and to the front door, where Sting stood in front of the door with a wide grin. He moved out of the way and Ivy gasped. All of Sabertooth and most of Fairy Tail stood in the front yard, down to their most comfortable clothing, ready to help.

She covered her mouth with her hands and sucked up a breath. Sting wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her to him, kissing her forehead. "Let's get these people working, shall we?"

She nodded against his chest and sniffled. "Let's do this."

"Ivy." they turned to see Erza smiling down at her. "Where do you need us?"

"Okay, so we're going to need to split into teams." Ivy declared "I need a handful of curse breakers if we want to do everything today because I don't have the time to break everything myself."

"Curse breakers?"

"Yeah, you think books on ancient and powerful magics are just sitting on a shelf? No. They're protected. Don't worry, I'll teach you how to do it." she smirked. "Levy, Fried, Yukino, Juvia, Lucy, and Wendy. You're on Team Breaker with me."

"Yes ma'am!"

"I need three more teams. One to take the books out and put them in the boxes and seal them, one to carry them to the trucks, and one to organize the trucks, because I don't trust the heavy-lifters to do the organization." she bit her lip.

"Who's doing the heavy lifting?"

"Sting, Rogue, Orga, Natsu, Gajeel, Gray, Elfman, Laxus, you're on Carry Team. If I find one book damaged or even scrapped when I unpack it, I will find out which of you did it and give you the beating of a lifetime. Especially you, Sting. If any of them screw up, you're going dry for two months."

The Light Dragon Slayer paled. "Nobody is fucking up."

"Threat goes to all of you." Mirajane smiled, and Lucy, Yukino, and Levy nodded.

They all gulped. "Yes, ma'am!"

"Mira, I want you, Erza and Minerva to oversee the organization of the boxes in the trucks, okay? I trust you'll do a wonderful job."

"You can count on us." Erza nodded, and Minerva winked.

"Which leaves the rest of you to Team Box. Lector, Frosch, Happy, Lily, Carla, Rufus, Jet and Droy, and Cana." she smiled. "Cana."

"Yeah, Red?"

"No alcohol in the library. I promise you two whole pipes during lunch, but you are prohibited from even touching them while working. Understand?" she glared.

"... damn, your wife is scary when she's serious, man." Cana looked at Sting. "Understood!"

"Great!"

"Let's get started, then!"

Everyone followed the couple inside. They climbed up the stairs and Ivy led them to the library. She pushed the double doors open and smiled at the gasps and one well-placed swoon Ivy was sure belonged to Levy. Admittedly, the library was beautiful.

The tall dome ceiling had a fresco of the Celestial sky, and the walls were beige with touches of gold. The bookcases on the right side were all interspersed with tall windows. The floor was of white marble, and at the end of the long room was a wall with a large mirror in the middle. Two spiral staircases led to the balconies of the room, where they could access the rest of the bookshelves. The decorations were all in golden and lavender tones, the central piece of the room being a tree with lilac leaves and bright green fruits.

"So, Team Box!" she exclaimed. "Here. Use this duct tape to seal the boxes – I've already enchanted it. If a book seems fragile, slap one of those stickers on the box. And I apologize profusely in advance for bossing you around."

"Ah, don't worry!"

"Here to help, Ivy!"

"Anything you need."

"It's kinda hot."

"Okay!" she clapped. "Team Box, the first three on the right wall are already unlocked. Boxes are just outside. Team Breaker, follow me!"

After teaching them how to unlock the protective spell – with which Lucy was surprised she picked up faster than anyone, everyone got to work. Faster than even she could have foreseen, the library began to be emptied out. The Exceeds were doing a wonderful job, and Albus took a liking to Happy. He promptly promised the blue cat a banquet of fresh fish if he did a careful, good job.

Ivy was just finishing an unlock when her arm was pulled back violently. She yelped and secured her spell before turning around. A middle-aged man glared at her; his periwinkle eyes icy cold compared to hers. Her shock lasted a second before a frown replaced it.

"Uncle."

"What the hell is going on here?!" he exclaimed "Who are all these people, and what the hell are they doing in my house?!"

"First of all, your house, my library. And I will find those books you got the Magic Council to take from this room and get them back. Grandfather was clear in his will that you were to stay out of this room. Did you really think I wouldn't find out?"

"I-!"

"You are lucky only half a shelf was emptied, for I am certain they wasted most of their time trying to undo the protective magic. If you are to learn a lesson today, let it be that what is mine, is mine, Uncle. And if by any god-forbidden chance, I can't recover all the books you took, you better beg me to keep your head attached to your body."

"How dare-?!"

"I'm not finished. You better pray that I recover everything, Uncle. And you are to tell the Magic Council to never come back into this room, and not follow me. If so, I have all the legal proof I need to say you attempted to use a governmental law enforcement team to benefit none other than yourself. Those people are my friends, and if you value your own life, you will leave them alone. Second of all… you'd do well to let go of me."

"You're to tell these people to leave my house right now!"

"If you want me to blow a hole into the wall for them to not step foot into your house, I will be more than happy to." She curled her upper lip. "Let. Go."

"I-!" he started, but suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

He turned around to see a young man with dark blue eyes and spiky hair glaring bloody murder at him. His hand tightened its grip, and the uncle flinched. A flurry of white dragon scales ran up his neck and jaw, ending just below his ear. Ivy felt the world stop right then and there, the temperature of the room dropped several degrees, and for the first time in her life, she could say she was scared of the dragon slayer.

"You heard her." He growled. "Let. Her. Go."

"A-and who the hell are you?!"

"This… is Sting Eucliffe. Master of one of the most powerful magic guilds in all of Fiore…" She smirked when the dragon slayer moved to stand beside her. "… and my husband."

"You're married?!"

Sting grabbed his wrist and yanked it away from Ivy, squeezing it. The man screamed and his knees buckled. Sting stepped up to him and growled.

"If you dare to lay a finger on my queen again, you won't live long enough to take a final breath."

Sting released his wrist and the man stumbled back. "Monsters, the lot of you! Devilish, hellish creatures!"

He turned to run away and froze. Standing in front of him, was a young woman with pale skin, blank dark blue eyes with a scar running down the right side of her face. Her ears were pointy, her white hair floating up, and a shadow of devil horns growing on either side of her forehead. The… creature parted her blood-red lips and inhaled. She cocked her head to the side.

"Boo."

The man ran out of the room and house crying out about demons and devils, corruption of magic, and haunting sights. Mirajane shifted back to her human form and watched him go with a soft smile before turning back to Ivy and Sting and giggling nervously.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself."

"I love you, Mira." Ivy declared, beaming.

"That's my woman!"

"That was manly, sis!"
