Prologue: Jaina Senses

After a grueling war against the Yuuzhan Vong over the past 5 years, the Solo-Skywalker family has been at the heart of protecting the galaxy against this threat and lost many allies in the process. Even after the end of the war, the work to restore the New Republic and peace between planets have spread the Solo-Skywalker family thin but most of all it has taken the worst toll on the so-called galaxy's daughter - Jaina Solo. She is currently working as a jedi, a liutenant, and diplomat all at once to ensure the peace.

Feeling more exhausted than ever, Jaina abandoned her post and flew to the Janako system with her brother close by to check up on her. "Jaina, do you copy? I saw you enter the Middle Rim region, is something wrong?" Jacen asked through the ship comms.

"I copy Jacen. I just needed to take a quick breather, it seems like turmoil in the galaxy never ends. Even after we saved the galaxy, seems like we're the only ones competent enough to keep it from falling apart." Jaina replied.

"Yeah well, no one ever said it would be easy being heroes." Jacen consoled her.

"Still, its too much for any of us to bear. I'm gonna go to Uncle Luke for some advice, is it okay if you cover me for now? Just enough to get mom off my ass for a few minutes." Jaina asked.

"I guess... but you owe me." Jacen answered reluctantly.

Arriving in Ach-To, Luke is surprised from this unexpected visit greeting his niece. "Its always a pleasure to see you Jaina, if I must be honest I didn't think I would see you this soon again."

"Neither did I uncle, but I am in need of desperate advice." Jaina said and Luke took pity seeing the exhaustion wear on her face and body and invited her inside his home serving her a drink to discuss her recent plights.

"If you need me to talk to your mother, I'm sure I can ease up your workload." Luke suggested.

"Thank you but I am kind of looking for more than an ease in workload. I think I need a new change of pace right now, it just seems like after we've been through. We deserve to take a backseat from running the galaxy for once." Jaina explained.

"I must admit too, the war did take its toll on me as well. The darkness, the fighting, it had affected my connection to the force which is why I retreated back here in Ach-To." Luke told Jaina and she thought. "Finding my connection to the force again, maybe that's the key to find what I'm looking for."

Luke exited the room telling her. "Ach-To is as much your home as it is mine. Feel free to stay for as long as you need."

Jaina nodded in appreciation thanking her uncle as she closed her eyes and meditated, using all the skills she had been thought. Given the popularity and power of her family, she never had the independence of making her own decision or being able to explore as much as the galaxy can offer. She had just turned 21 recently and spent the last 5 years fighting a war, despite her acting against her duties. Jaina knows she can't continue working without finding herself again.

Getting lost deeper in thought, Jaina heard a booming voice, a deep and groggy voice as it called out to her. "Hah chuba du naga Solo..."

"What the? Who's there?" She thought in a panic as the voice spoke again. "Oro mina schutta, deri Solo..."

Awakening from her meditation, Jaina saw herself laying atop a big stone, and to her surprise she was laying there naked as a spotlight shone on her and then felt a cold steel chain wrap around her neck. Suddenly, she heard again the same voice in a very loud boom. "HO! HOOOO! HOOOO! HOOOOOOO!"

Gasping in a panic, Jaina awoke a second time, she was still in Luke's home but felt something in her chest. A feeling that she believes will lead her to answers from her dream, but reminding herself of that terrible nightmare vision she wondered if she really wanted to find those answers.

Boarding back in her ship, Jaina received a call from her mother. "Jaina! Where the hell did you go!"

"I just made a quick visit to uncle Luke, surely that isn't a problem." Jaina said in annoyed tone.

"It isn't but the least you could do is ask permission before you abandon your post like that." Leia said back sounding even more annoyed. "I asked Jacen to cover for me." Jaina tried to reason out.

"You were missing for 8 hours Jaina, did you really think he can hold the fort down alone for that long?" Leia replied angrily but tried to calm herself down. "I'm sorry for lashing out... This hasn't been easy for any of us you know. But just a little bit more Jaina, I promise this will be over soon."

"Thanks mom, I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I left." Jaina replied.

"Your uncle Luke had told me that you don't look well, you can take the rest of the day off for now." Leia said to Jaina's relief. "You won't even notice I left." Jaina said before flying off from Ach-To.

Taking advantage of the situation, Jaina decided to follow what she was feeling and to keep herself focused she detached her radars and beacons and turned off any other sensors. "Sorry mom, I hope you understand. I need to do just this small thing for myself for once and I shouldn't be disturbed."

Jumping into hyperspace and trusting her own senses, Jaina arrived outside the sandy planet of Tatooine.

"Tatooine? I went to all that trouble just for this stupid rock, what could be down here that will help me?" Jaina sighed but as she turned her ship around, she couldn't bring herself to zoom off, and in need of answers from her dream she decided to visit in the planet. "I hope this is worth it." she said.

[Author's Note: In this story, I imagine Jaina being played by H. Steinfeld.
