John smiled to himself as he watched the only human Blue Lantern talking to a middle aged female army medic as he slowly re-grew the arm she had lost after it was crushed when the hospital she had been working at had been blown up by a rocket.
Leaving the woman flexing her now regrown arm Del walked over to John.
"Thank you for asking me to come with you for this"
Del just shrugged "when I arranged to visit a veterans hospital today I figured you would appreciate the chance to come as this is the first time you haven't been busy when I'm doing it, plus Jess prefers to visit the kids hospitals with me and entertain the kids while I work on them"
John nodded while seeing several veterans from several countries and branches of the armed services young and retired now with regrown limbs and in one case even a regrown eye now all sitting around swapping stories from there time in the armed forces.
"Still thank you"
"Like I said it's no problem," Del smiled "you know as long as we are here you could stay here and swap stories with them while I go visit the kids ward?"
John raised an eyebrow "would that be close enough?"
"Should be as long as you stay on this floor" instead of answering John just walked over and sat in a chair next to a veteran with a jacket showing he was a former member of the British Navy while Del made his way up to the children's ward.

Walking into the cafeteria on the Watchtower Del grabbed some food before walking over to join Jess, Bab's and Kara.
"Hey how did things go with John?"
"When I left he was swapping war stories"
Eating some food Del let his mind wander for a moment while the three ladies chatted before he registered Bab's punching him in the shoulder.
"Hey back with us?"
Shaking himself Del focused back on the three ladies with him.
"Yeah I just had an idea, I keep helping in cancer wards and so on but what if we could do something about the causes of them getting sick?"
"Like what?"
"Well what if we cleaned up Gotham bay? Would that help?"
The others blinked before Bab's had a thoughtful look.
"It might let me set some stuff up and see?"
"Cool, do you think you could get me in to see poison Ivy?"
He smiled at the baffled look the three ladies gave him

1 week later
Del shifted slightly as he sat across from Ivy inside Arkham asylum who didn't look happy to see him or Bab's.
"All right what do you and Batgirl want, I'll tell you now I'm not telling you anything that will help you find Harley"
"Actually I had an idea I think you might like and be able to help with"
Ivy just raised an eyebrow at him.
"Ok so I have been going to different hospitals to heal people but I had a thought what if we could help reverse the damage to the planet and reduce the causes of people getting sick"
"Ok you have my interest but why do you need my help?"
"Could you make an algae or something that when added to water would break down any plastic or toxic chemicals and turn them into something harmless?"
Ivy blinked a few times before she had a thoughtful look
"I'm not sure but what's in it for me?"
"We could arrange for you be moved to a secure lab say on the Watchtower while you work instead of here at Arkham plus it would help the planet"
"Ok I'll try if for no reason then to help the planet"
Nodding Del stood up and shook Ivy's hand.
"Thank you doctor Isley and hey if this works we might be able to get you free providing you don't commit any other crimes"
Walking out the door Bab's frowned.
"You think she can do it?"
"If any one can I'd bet she can"

Floating over Gotham bay Del groaned then looked at Jess who was floating next to him along with Bab's who was being held by Kara.
"Problem?"
Del rubbed his eyes while nodding
"Batgirl can you get hold of Gotham PD there are hundreds of dead body's plus tons of barrels of chemical waste"
All three ladies winced before Jess made a platform for Bab's while Kara started to use her x-ray vision to help search the bay.
Several hours later they had removed hundreds of barrels from the bay between Del, Jess and Kara while bab's was using a laptop that Kara had picked up from her place to trace the companies responsible while several teams worked to move the waste to be disposed of safely.
They had also filled several morges with bodies.
Landing back on the dock Del accepted a coffee cup from commissioner Gordon.
"Thank you for doing this, this should help us close so many missing person cases"
Del downed the coffee "it's going to take us a long time to get all the bodies and waste out of the bay, and I assume some of those missing person cases are going to become murder cases".
"Very likely but all the extra work will be worth it if we can solve those murders, plus removing all that waste will make things better health wise"
"That was the whole point of doing this to begin with"

Collapsing on Bab's sofa Del groaned "thanks for letting us crash here Bab's"
"No problem," Bab's replied while pulling her cowl off. "I'm going to bed" Del raised an eyebrow when Kara followed Bab's into the bedroom.
Before a cough from Jess got his attention "care to join me for a shower?"
Watching Jesse's retreating back Del looked up at the ceiling "I don't know what I did but thank you" getting up he followed Jess to the bathroom.

Several years later
Del grinned as he looked down at the earth, things had gone well in the last few years.
Ivy had managed to create the algae which had reduced all the plastic and toxic waste in the world's oceans which had reduced the damage done to the planet.
After some thought Kara had gone to the fortress of solitude and with Bab's help had found some designs in the database for much more efficient solar panels and satellites that could be set in low orbit that had been converting the carbon dioxide and other harmful chemicals in the air into water vapour and oxygen.
On a more personal level he had asked Jess to marry him and she had agreed.
Feeling someone walk up behind him Del smiled before pulling Jess close and kissing her.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Just how lucky I was that, that ring crashed behind my house"
