Chapter 9 - Popper Plus Flurry and a DNA Mystery

Computer: Scanning DNA...

"So, how long do you think this could take?" Lilo asked.

"It is being complicated to say" Jumba stated.

"It just changed color in Flurry's paw, it was like it was his fur, then wasn't his fur... Does that make sense?" Lilo stated.

"No, but for obvious reasons, I believe you" Jumba stated.

Flurry still sat by the window, she hadn't said a word since it happened. She just sat there starring out the window as if all the world around her didn't exist. Stitch went up to her and sat beside her.

"Flurry? Stitch just want to say, as someone who went through the same thing, you both will come back from this" Stitch stated. "Stitch knows you don't feel like it right now, But, Popper is still good, yeah, still good" he continued.

Stitch put his paw on her shoulder and got up from his seat and walked away to give her space. Flurry had a tear fall from her cheek.

Flurry's Thoughts POV

The horror keeps replaying over and over in my head. There is no stopping it, why won't it stop. His eyes, they glowed red. The more I think about it, sends static to my core. I'll try something, think about when Popper brought me to our spot. Our Tree, yes, our tree, where we carved our names into as a symbol of forever love. Wait, I can hear Stitch talking to me.

"Thank you, Stitch" Flurry said.

Stitch stopped walking and turned around to see Flurry with a tear falling from her cheek. Stitch nodded his head and proceeded to walk toward Lilo and Jumba.

The trail to Popper's parents old house

Popper was walking up the trail where it all started years ago. Emotions flowing through him like a raging river.

"What have I done" Popper said to himself as he came to the end of the trail.

Camera passes a tree and transitions to Flurry by the window*

Flurry: Why you gotta make it so hard? *Her ears are down as well*

Camera passes behind Flurry and transitions back to Popper*

Popper: Just another weekend *walking towards the tree line*
Where we are barely speaking
Hoping that the silence keeps us safe-

opened the bushes and walked into Flurry and his special spot*

-How did I get here? *Camera circles him as he gets closer to the signed special tree*

When we said forever *holding out his paws in front of him*
Is this what we meant? *holding his paws close to his chest*
Is it wrong that I miss you?

But the burden feels heavy
And I'm just so spent *dropped to his knees in front of the tree*

Camera moves behind the tree and transitions back to Flurry*

Flurry: I've still got some hope in my heart *putting his Right paw on her heart*
But I don't even know where to start *she burst into tears*

Popper put his paw on the marking that reads 'Popper plus Flurry' and a power surged out and Flurry felt a sense of comfort*

Popper: It's never over *got up from the ground*

Flurry: it's never over *also got up from the window sill*

Popper: It's never over *wind blow through his rain soaked fur*

Flurry: it's never over *felt the connection between them*

Popper: It's not to late to start it all again
It's never over

Camera only shows Flurry*

Flurry: How did I get here? *a tear streams down her face*
Was it something I said? *looked out the window*
When we said forever *felt Popper was still in control*
Is this what we meant? *but something was taking over his mind*

Flurry ran out the door toward Popper*

Split screen again*

Together: Is it wrong that I miss you?
*Popper turned back at the tree/Flurry running to find him*
'Cause you never left
But the burden feels heavy *a tear falls from his cheek/Flurry opened the bushes*
And I'm just so spent

Popper turns around to see Flurry*

How did I get here? *Flurry walks closer to Popper*

Song end with Popper and Flurry sharing a kiss and then a long hug*

Back at the Lab

"Ok, Flurry just left suddenly" Lilo said.

"I..." Jumba muttered before he was interrupted.

Computer: Scan Completed. Popper's DNA detected.

Everyone got sad for a moment.

Computer: DNA Match detected... Two Unknown DNA detected...

"What? how..." Jumba stuttered.

"What is going on?" Lilo said.

"Computer scanned four different DNA, two matched and two is being unknown" Jumba said scratching his head in confusion.

Jumba looked through the log, Popper was indeed a 15 percent match to the fur, 5 percent to one of the unknown DNA and 75 percent to the other Unknown DNA but what really caught Jumba's attention left him white as a ghost. The remaining 5 percent belonged to something he had long forgotten about.

"Impossible" Jumba muttered.

"What is it Jumba?" Lilo asked.

"oh, ah, nothing, it's nothing... Popper is indeed being taken over by something, yes" Jumba said.

Lilo and Stitch looked at each other and ran to tell Sarah.

As soon as they left, Jumba pulled the logs back up. On the screen showed a 5 percent match to Experiment 628.
