The plan might have been her mother's, but learning that her aunt isn't the only one that would be joining the team with the mission of taking down the Clairvoyant, she isn't going against it. She has heard enough stories about John Garret to know she won't like him. She made sure to gather all the information Coulson wanted, well, needed for the mission to go down as smoothly as possible. Once everything had been split up in multiple files, herself along side Jemma and Leo, were out of the BUS.
Melinda had made sure to drop them of in a location where there is a place they can stay for the time, and where there is back up if they were to need it. And very deep down, Skye wish they won't, but considering her life and how things have gone the last few times, something will go down.
"This is the place?"
Jemma asks as Skye steps up to the front door of the apartment building. Looking up, she nods her head.
"Yeah, now come on. The quicker we can get inside, the quicker we can just drop of the bags."
She informs her friend, glancing over her shoulder as she pulls the door open. Entering, Skye quickly looks up the stairs, hearing that someone is moving about on a higher floor. She quickly steps up to the elevator door and calls for it, happy to see the doors opening in front of her. With a nod of her head, she signals to Jemma and Leo that they should enter.
Tapping her foot throughout the ride, Skye can feel how the science nerds looks at her. With a deep breath, she tries to calm down. When the ride finally comes to a stop and the doors are open, Skye takes the few quick steps towards the closest door in the hall. Activating the scanner, she places her hand on it before being granted the ability to enter her personal code.
Once all of the security measures are done with, she hears how the door unlocks and she pushes it open. The moment she steps into the apartment where she spent the largest part of her childhood, a calmness takes over her.
"What is this place?"
Leo asks behind her, forcing her to take a few more steps into the hallway so he and Jemma can enter properly.
"It's a safe house not known to S.H.I.E.L.D. I thought this would be the safest place for us to stay during all of this."
Skye explains, acting as if this isn't a bigger deal. The fact that she has taken the two of them here is a big deal. Sure, her siblings won't have a problem with Jemma, they have meet her already. Leo is the new addition and since they have yet meet him properly, at least Natasha and Clint. All she can hope for is that neither of them shows up.
"We can drop the bags in the living room for now."
She informs them, leading them into the said room and dropping her own bag on the couch.
"How did you come over a safe house that isn't known to S.H.I.E.L.D?"
Leo asks and Skye looks around herself, smiling sadly.
"I used to live here back in my youth."
She explains with a small shrug of her shoulders, moving for the kitchen before Leo or Jemma has a chance to fully react to what she just informed them. She can however hear how they are freaking out.
Opening the pantry, she lets out a deep sigh when she sees it empty. She guess she should have known there wouldn't be anything, neither of her siblings have been using this place since she moved out to live with Gwen.
"We need to do some shopping, there is no food... are you two alright?"
Skye asks as she moves back into the living room, only to see the confusion that is Leo and Jemma.
"This is where you grow up?"
"I mean, it become my home when my siblings decided to step up to take care of me. Now can we let it go? We need food."
Skye explains and seeing how Jemma and Leo looks at one another, Skye rolls her eyes. Something tells her she haven't been able to put a stop to their questions, at least they have put a stop to them for now.
Grabbing her wallet and a jacket, she leads the science twins out of the apartment and then the building itself. Walking down the roads that had been her childhood is throwing her back and with that, comes the training her siblings had made sure to push into her at that age.
"Any I suggestion of what food we should get?"
She asks, turning her head to look at her friends that are walking behind her. She can see that both of them answered her with idea, but she's not looking at them, but the obvious super soldiers with alien tech walking a few meters back. Turning her head back again, she tries to figure out just what to do next.
"Jemma, Leo. Speed up slightly so you are walking beside me and do not look behind you. We are being followed."
Skye whispers, hopping that they will do what she ask of them. When she had Jemma and Leo on either side of her. Taking the lead, Skye makes sure to take a few different turns, truing hard to make it look normal. When her eyes lands on the destination in mind, she smiles.
Pulling out her wallet, she fishes out the white card and heads for one of the many doors. Placing the card on the card scanner, she quickly pulls the door open.
"Get in, and behind the front desk. Quickly!"
She orders, seeing how Jemma and Leo enters the building, Skye follows them, letting the door close and lock behind her. Her next step is to pull the blinds for the large windows. She stays close to the door, in a position that she can look out but not being seen.
Seeing how the super soldiers walks past the building, looking somewhat confused over where their target had gone. As they keep walking, Skye let's out a sigh of relief and tries to calm down.
"Who are you, and why are hiding behind my desk?"
A voice speaks up from behind her, and Skye quickly turns around. As her eyes lands on Zari, the rest of the worry she had been feeling is gone.
"Take it easy Zari, they are with me."
She explains and at her voice, Zari looks from the hiding Jemma and Leo, who are slowly moving from their hiding spot, and looks at her.
"Skye?"
The surprise clear in the other woman voice and Skye nods her head, smiling. When Zari holds out her arms, Skye laughs slightly as she steps towards the other woman to give her a hug.
"I haven't seen you in years, how are you doing?"
Zari asks, as she places her hands on Skye's shoulders, pushing her slightly back so she can take a proper look of her.
"I'm doing very good. Me and my friends are here simply because we were being followed and needed to hide."
Skye explains, before looking over her shoulder.
"That is Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. Jemma, Leo, meet an old friend of mine, Zari Jackson."
Skye introduces and the group of three nods their heads as a greeting.
"So, who am I calling then? One of your siblings, your aunt?"
Zari asks, moving to the front desk to take the phone.
"My mother."
Seeing how Zari freezes at her words, Skye smiles.
"I see that Evgenia and Michelle never informed you that I'm in contact with my mother again."
Her smile grows larger as she sees the complete confusion in Zari's eyes as she is trying to process what have been informed to her.
"How does my niece know this information?"
"She was here the day I came to visit a few months ago."
"You are in contact again with your mother and neither of them thought it good to inform me about it?"
Skye shrugs at that question, but she can see that something has sparked in the other woman and she's not sure she will like it.
"Then I don't feel bad about telling you this information. Evgenia and your aunt is dating."
Zari informs her as she makes the phone call. Skye's smile quickly dips and chock is going through her system.
"Oh god, my aunt is dead."
"Why would your aunt be dead?"
Jemma asks and Skye turns to look at her and Leo, for a few seconds she had forgotten they were there.
"Because the bond between my sister and Evgenia goes deeper than the bond between my siblings and Victoria. I know Vick can handle herself, she's a S.H.I.E.L.D agent after all but still, she's so dead when this comes out."
Seeing the confusion in Leo's eyes, Skye lets out a deep sigh. She guess she can at least give him this information about her family. Since Zari is calling her mother he will learn that truth when Melinda comes to pick them up.
"My aunt is Victoria Hand."
The complete chock is instant and it almost looks like Leo's jaw would fall to the floor.
"Your related to agent Hand?"
Disbelief clear in his question and Skye nods her head. If this is his reaction, it was going to be fun to see how he reacts to finding out about Melinda, Natasha, Maria and Clint. Deep down Skye can't wait for it. Maybe she should try and get it all on film.
"Your mother is happy that you are safe, she herself can't come and get you at this moment, but she will try and find someone that can pick the three of you up."
Hearing Zari's voice, Skye turns towards her hand nods. She should have known her mother wouldn't be able to just leave the mission, but it was worth it try at least.
"Which means you have time to change and join the next class."
"What, no. I'm not joining a kids class."
"Who said anything about it being a class with kids. I mean, you used to dance with some of them when you were younger."
"No, no, no, no. You can't make me."
"I can't, but my buddy can, say hi buddy."
Hearing the door close behind her, Skye freezes on the spot. Seeing the smile on Zari, she knows who is behind her without having to look.
"Agents Fitz and Simmons, this is a surprise. Skye, what is going on?"
Slowly turning, her eyes lands on Evgenia who has her arms crossed.
"Hi, oh it's nothing. We were just in the neighbourhood."
"And being followed."
Seeing how Evgenia's eyes narrows at the information, Skye knows she is out voted.
"I'll just go and change."
Skye says, sending Zari a look as she heads for the changing room.
"Imagine my surprise when I learn that she's reunited with her mother."
She hears Zari points out, which makes Skye come to a stop, mainly to hear what will be said.
"Oh, did I forget the mention that little part?"
"Don't worry, I told her you are dating her aunt."
With that, Skye keeps walking. She can always ask Jemma and Leo later what was being said to that.
