Note: This chapter contains three related stories based on what is known about Zootopia 2 as of February 1, 2025. While it is known that Nick and Judy will visit a district called Marsh Market and be in pursuit of a snake named Gary, my stories are highly speculative and are likely to be contradicted by the sequel itself, which is set to be released on November 26, 2025. In honor of Zootopia 2 being the second film in the franchise, each story is a double drabble of exactly 200 words.
"Undercover"
"And lastly," Chief Bogo said after all the other officers had left the bullpen, "Officers Hopps and Wilde. I have an undercover assignment for you in Marsh Market."
"All right! Disguises!" Nick cheered.
The boss shook his head. "No, Wilde. No disguises. Just the fur that God gave you and ordinary civilian clothes."
"Sir," Nick said, "I'm not sure how we go undercover then. I don't mean to brag, but we did crack the biggest case this city's ever seen. We've been on every TV show, in every newspaper, on many radio programs. We even did a podcast."
"Officer Wilde does have a point," Judy said. "Even off duty, we're frequently recognized."
"You think I'm unaware of your fame?" Bogo said, slightly annoyed. "That's exactly what we'll benefit from. You're going undercover as yourselves off duty. And to make it even more convincing, you're going as a couple."
"A couple what, sir?" Nick asked.
Bogo leaned closer. "Romantic," he said slowly, Nick feeling his breath.
The officers looked at each other, then back to Bogo.
"Sir," Judy said, "you know Officer Wilde and I are just friends, right?"
Nick was a little more blunt. "This was Clawhauser's idea, wasn't it?"

"The Reptile Way"
Judy looked at the first picture of Gary, the snake they'd be pursuing, paperclipped inside the folder Bogo had just handed her. She flinched a little. And blushed. "Oh. He's a naturalist sometimes." She looked away as she pulled the small stack of photos from the paperclip and moved the first one to the back. "I'll just look at the next—" The blue viper was naked in that picture too. She flipped to the third picture. Then the fourth. "Oh, these just go on like this."
Bogo lightly cleared his throat. "Hopps, do you not know?"
"Not know what, sir?"
"It's the reptile way," the chief replied. "They don't wear clothes."
"Really?"
"Judy," Nick said, "they have their own Mystic Spring Oasis, only there the kinky thing is to dress up. No one else wears anything."
"If it helps," Bogo continued, "reptiles say they don't wear clothes because it would interfere with regulating their body temperature."
Judy nodded slightly. "Well, if they have to do it to live." She paused for a moment. "Still, if we have to arrest Gary, can we at least get a towel to throw over the back seat of our cruiser? And some rubber gloves?"

"The Out-of-Uniform Uniform"
She was surprised. And yet, not surprised at all.
"Oh, Nick," Judy said as Nick opened his apartment door, where they'd prepare a little before their undercover assignment, "you really don't have anything besides Pawaiian shirts, do you?"
The fox stood there wearing a purple-pink version of his favorite shirt style, a fern pattern woven into the comfortable, casual fabric. Around his neck was another classically loose tie, this one with tropical flowers. Only his fish-patterned bucket hat was not a typical piece of the Wilde wardrobe.
"Oh, I have a few things, Carrots," he replied. "But if I wore anything other than one of my usual out-of-uniform uniforms, don't you think that it might arouse suspicion?"
"Touché."
Nick smirked. "Besides, you know you like it."
The bunny responded with a trademark light arm punch. "C'mon, Slick. Good acting, but you don't need to flirt with me here."
Nick paused for a moment. He wasn't sure he was acting. But he didn't think about it long.
"Hey!" Judy said as the baseball cap she was wearing was suddenly snatched off her head.
"I just want to see the logo closer, Fluff. I couldn't tell what it was on your head."
