Chapter 1: A Shinobi's Crimson Path
The battle was over. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the mother of chakra and the source of endless destruction, had been sealed away once more. The combined efforts of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and the spirit of their mentor, Kakashi Hatake, had succeeded. Yet, as Kaguya's dimension collapsed around them, victory felt strangely hollow.
Naruto floated in the void alongside Sasuke, both too drained to speak. Their bodies ached from the battle, and their chakra reserves were nearly spent. The silence of the crumbling space pressed on them, broken only by the occasional crack of dimension fragments shattering like glass.
"This is it, huh?" Naruto muttered, forcing a small grin despite the dire situation. "Guess we're gonna find out what happens after everything falls apart."
Sasuke's Rinnegan flared briefly, his face a mask of calm. "The dimension is unstable. If we don't act, we'll be consumed along with it."
Kurama, ever the blunt companion, growled in Naruto's mind. "Brat, if you've got a plan, now's the time. Otherwise, this is the end for all of us—me, the other tailed beasts, and you."
Naruto frowned. "Yeah, I get it, Kurama. No need to nag me about it."
Sasuke's voice cut through their telepathic exchange. "There's no time for arguments. If we get out of here alive, it'll be sheer luck."
With no time to formulate a proper escape, the crumbling dimension gave its answer. A burst of light, blinding and overwhelming, erupted around them. In the chaos, Naruto felt the warmth of chakra and the familiar presence of the tailed beasts flicker within him. Then, there was nothing—no sound, no sight, no pain.
--
When Naruto opened his eyes, he was greeted by the unfamiliar sensation of hard cobblestones beneath him. The faint scent of fresh bread and roasting coffee beans filled the air, and as he sat up, his surroundings came into focus.
Towering buildings lined the streets, their facades marked with foreign signs and intricate architecture. People bustled past him, chatting and laughing in a language he couldn't understand. Bright awnings stretched over shop windows, and the occasional clinking of bells from passing bicycles added to the lively atmosphere.
"Where... am I?" Naruto mumbled, rubbing his head.
A groan from nearby made him turn. Sasuke sat on the ground a few feet away, one hand gripping his head as his Sharingan faded from view.
"Sasuke!" Naruto exclaimed, scrambling to his feet. He ran over, relief washing over him. "You okay, man? I thought we were done for back there!"
Sasuke pushed himself up, brushing off his cloak. "We're alive, but I don't recognize this place. It's not the shinobi world."
Naruto scratched his head, glancing around. "Yeah, no kidding. Where's the nearest ramen shop? I'm starving."
Sasuke ignored the comment, his eyes narrowing as he took in their surroundings. "The energy in this world... it's not chakra. It's something else. Can't you feel it?"
Naruto blinked, pausing to focus. Kurama rumbled in his mind. "The Uchiha's right. This world runs on a completely different kind of power. And it's not weak."
The crowd around them seemed oblivious to the two out-of-place shinobi. Most people were dressed in modern clothing—jackets, scarves, and shoes unlike anything Naruto had seen before. He tugged at his orange-and-black outfit, suddenly feeling very conspicuous.
"Great. First thing we need to do is blend in," Sasuke muttered, noticing the stares they were beginning to attract.
"Blend in? How? Everyone here looks weird to me!" Naruto protested, waving his arms.
Sasuke's eyes flicked to a bookstore nearby. Without a word, he strode inside, leaving Naruto to scramble after him.
--
Inside the store, rows of books lined the shelves, most of them in the unfamiliar language. Sasuke picked up a thick tome and flipped through it, his Sharingan glowing faintly as he scanned the text.
"What are you doing?" Naruto whispered, glancing nervously at the cashier.
"Learning," Sasuke replied curtly.
Naruto crossed his arms. "Show-off. I'll figure it out my own way."
He formed the Shadow Clone hand seal, and within seconds, a dozen Narutos spread out through the store, each grabbing books and skimming pages. Sasuke raised an eyebrow but said nothing as the clones began piecing together basic words and phrases.
Within a couple of hours, both shinobi had a rudimentary grasp of the local language. They exited the store with lighter coin purses, having purchased a handful of useful books.
--
As they wandered the streets, Naruto's stomach growled loudly. He paused in front of a bakery, his nose pressed against the glass. Inside, rows of pastries, loaves of bread, and sweets sat on display, the sight making his mouth water.
"I think I'm in love," Naruto sighed.
Sasuke sighed in exasperation. "Focus, dobe. We need to figure out how to survive here. That means money, food, and shelter."
Naruto straightened, his eyes lighting up. "What if we got a job? Or better yet, started a business?"
Sasuke frowned. "Doing what?"
Naruto grinned, jabbing a thumb toward the bakery. "This! I could run a bakery. I mean, how hard can it be? I've got Shadow Clones and Kurama to help me out!"
Kurama growled in annoyance. "Do I look like I care about bread? Don't rope me into your nonsense."
Sasuke gave Naruto a long-suffering look. "You're hopeless."
"Aw, come on, Sasuke. You can't tell me you've got a better idea," Naruto argued.
Sasuke folded his arms, thinking. While he didn't share Naruto's enthusiasm for pastries, he couldn't deny the logic of laying low and earning money. "Fine. You do what you want. I'll handle gathering information about this world. But don't drag me into your idiotic schemes."
Naruto pumped his fist in triumph. "Yes! Believe it, this is gonna be awesome!"
--
Over the next few days, Naruto and Sasuke worked tirelessly to establish themselves in the city. Naruto threw himself into learning the art of baking, much to Kurama's dismay, while Sasuke focused on building their cover identities. Using his Sharingan, Sasuke forged documents and created new names for them, ensuring they wouldn't stand out as foreign entities.
Naruto's energy was infectious, and soon, the bakery became a small but popular spot for locals. His bright smile and genuine enthusiasm drew customers, while Sasuke worked quietly in the background, ensuring their operation ran smoothly.
Despite the peaceful routine, both shinobi remained on high alert. Sasuke's nightly patrols revealed strange figures moving through the city—individuals with wings of white or black, their presence hidden from ordinary humans.
"There's more to this world than meets the eye," Sasuke remarked one evening as he returned from his observations.
Naruto glanced up from kneading dough. "Like what?"
"Angels, devils, and who knows what else," Sasuke said. "We're not the only ones hiding power here."
Kurama rumbled in agreement. "Keep your guard up, brat. If they sense the power of the tailed beasts, we'll have a fight on our hands."
Naruto nodded, his expression unusually serious. "Got it. But for now, let's focus on surviving. We'll deal with the rest when it comes."
--
As the days turned into weeks, Naruto and Sasuke slowly adjusted to their new lives. The bakery became a small haven, a place where Naruto's boundless energy and Sasuke's quiet competence balanced each other.
Though the world around them remained a mystery, they both knew one thing: they would face whatever challenges came their way, together.
"Let's get some answers," Naruto said one evening, his tone determined. "No matter what it takes."

I still want to work on Gold Sun and Silver Moon. How do I do more research on High School DxD? I only watch the anime, but I haven't read the light novels. I apologize, but I need this story for you guys. This is a slice-of-life romance story.
