Making music together!
Meanwhile, Eve and Benji are focused on the guitars that Benji wants to look at. They picked three to choose from, but one is definitely his favorite. If only because of its incredibly cool appearance. It is black and decorated with silver patterns. Eve also likes this guitar the best. Finally, the salesman comes back to them, but he explains, unfortunately he doesn't have any time for them now any further, as the shop is pretty messed up. Benji mentions with a laugh that they could manage the tryout on their own.
Eve is also actually quite happy that she now has the chance to be alone with Benji. The two have a lot of fun trying out the guitars. Benji plays some songs on each guitar for Eve, who is really excited. She feels like being in heaven to be able to get a private concert from him. She listens to him attentively and her infatuation grows with each song. Benji then plays her a song on his favorite guitar. This song he had just composed with his band. He proudly adds that she is the very first person to hear this song. Eve's heart beats faster and as she listens to his singing, she gives herself into her dreams. Finally, Benji waves her over.
"Hey, do you want to try it? It's really fun." Eve blushes.
"What? I can't do that. I've never played the guitar before."
"Oh, it's not that complicated. I'll show you what to do."
Benji puts the guitar on her and shows her the necessary finger movements. He stands very close to her and puts his hands on hers to guide her. They play a few chords together. Eve tries to remain calm on the outside, but deep inside she feels like she's going to faint at any moment. Feeling his hands on hers and him being so close next to her almost drives her crazy. At the same time, she enjoys every single second. Secretly, she hopes this moment will never end.
Benji smiles at her.
"See, it's working out great. I knew right away that you were musical. You seem to be a true born talent." Eve grins back.
"That's only because I have the best teacher. But I'm afraid until I play as good as you, you need to give me a few more lessons."
"No objection to that."
After a while, the salesman comes back and asks them if they have decided on a guitar. Benji shows him the favorite one he would like to buy, but swallows when he hears the price. It is much more expensive than he had thought. But Benji is determined to buy only this guitar and no other. He does the math in his head and decides to talk to his godmother again. He tells the salesman that he needs to think about it once more and that he will call him in the next few days.
Later Benji offers to drive Eve home, which she gratefully accepts. She explains, she just needs to go to the restroom first. Before she disappears, she whispers to him, he shouldn't be shocked when she comes back. At first, Benji doesn't understand what Eve is trying to tell him. But when Eve returns, everything becomes clear to him. Eve obviously got changed and was now standing in front of him in a completely different dress. He stares at her mischievously.
"Hey, Eve? What happened to you? Is that really you?"
"Well, I told you how I tricked my parents this morning. So logically I need to transform back again before I arrive at home."
Benji laughs.
"Aha, I understand! The sweet, innocent, well-raised daughter."
He couldn't stop grinning and giggling. Finally, Eve nudges him.
"Hey, stop teasing me. Otherwise I'll show you my 'well-raised behaviour'."
Laughing, the two head for the exit. When they are almost outside, Eve gets startled again. She hears a female voice screaming out behind her. And this voice sounds all too familiar to her. She turns around in panic. But she can't see anyone suspicious.
"Is something wrong?" Benji asks, confused.
"No, everything's fine. I just thought. But I must have been mistaken. Come on, let's go."
Fran had followed them the whole time after they left the music shop. Frowning, she had also witnessed Eve disappearing briefly and then reappearing in the same clothes she had left the house with this morning. Her daughter was truly clever and unfortunately she had learned a lot from her. Fran had continued to follow them and once again she didn't pay any attention. She almost tripped over an advertising sign and only managed to hide herself at the very last moment.
On the drive home, Fran thinks hard about how she should behave towards Eve now.
