Raindrops (An Angel Cried)
Jeremy sits on the window ledge in his hotel room in France. He writes about his summer in his digital journal. He looks over and sees Aelita sleeping on the bed. "She's so perfect," he thought. It has been four weeks since the gang graduated high school. They all went on trips and adventures for the summer but agreed to meet at a rental in France to spend a few days together before they all started going to university in the fall. Jeremy walks over and kisses Aelita on the cheek. He sees Plusle and Minun sleeping on a crushing. "They are made for each other, just like Aelita and I." Jeremy sits back on the ledge and sighs. He looks down and sees everyone looking at their phones. "Maybe something happened." Jeremy hears a familiar beeping noise from his laptop. "I haven't listened to that sound in a long time. Jeremy opens his laptop and sees something. "Wait! That can't be right," he said. The ground shakes, and the sky becomes cloudy. "No. No!" Aelita walks up and covers herself. "What happened?" "It's, it's," Jeremy is in disbelief. "What is going on?" Aelita asks. Black static comes from the TV and shocks the AC. Plusle and Minun wake up and see a face on the TV. "Plusle!" "Minun!" "Jeremy!" Aelita screams as she gets dressed. "Aelita! We need to leave and tell the others to meet us at the villa rental," Jeremy shouts.
Yumi and Ulrich are eating pastries on an outdoor patio in a café. "The past few weeks flew by," Ulrich said as he bit into a soft, chewy macaroon. "I agree. It feels like graduation was yesterday," Yumi said as she sipped her drink. They kiss as a couple of kids giggle. "Sorry," their mother said as she dragged them away. "That was awkward," Ulrich said while blushing. Yumi chuckles, "Look at the bright side." "What is that? No drama." "And no worries." Yumi leans in to kiss Ulrich when Ulrich notices the TV screen going black with static all around. "Stop! What is happening?" Yumi turns around and sees it. "It can't be," she said. "It is," Ulrich said as he hung up the phone. "That was Jeremy. He wants us to meet at the villa rental." Yumi nods, but the TV static blocks the door. "Not today!" Ulrich grabs the rubber lining from the table and covers himself and Yumi. They charge through and race to the villa.
Ash lays on the grass as Allison reads her manga. "I love this story. I want Miyo to get her happy ending," Allison said. Ash is sound asleep. "Ash?" Allison sees that Ash is sleeping. "A full stomach makes you sleepy," Allison chuckled to herself. She looks at her phone and sees the pictures of her trip with her twin brother. "It was fun to travel with him." Ash wakes up and sees Allison in deep thought. "I wonder what she is thinking about?" "If you'll kiss me," Allison teased. Ash kisses Allison, and she blushed. "Did you get your answer?" Ash teased. "Yes," Allison said. Ash tackles Allison to the ground. "Hey, what is this? An ambush?" Allison asks. "Maybe? I'll still fired up from our trip," Ash said. After Allison's trip with her brother, the two spent a week in a canyon. Ash rubs his nose on Allison's face and kisses it. When Allison went to kiss him back, she noticed the hands on the clock in the park starting to spin. "What is up with the clocks?" Ash looks at the clock. "Weird." Allison checks her phone and sees that traffic is at a standstill. "What is happening?" she asks. The pair looks up and sees a symbol on the clock. "It looks like," Ash started. "No way. Let me call Jeremy and Aelita," Allison said. However, Aelita beats her to the punch and confirms it. "Let's get to the villa," she said.
Odd and Dawn are stuck in traffic while going to the villa. "A few weeks with the group. I can't wait for Brock's cooking," Dawn said. "Me too. I plan on only having three servings," Odd said. "Three? You must be growing up. Your usually is five." "Well," Odd said as he wraps her arms around Dawn. "I need to save space for dessert." "Which is?" Odd winks and kisses Dawn's cheek. "Well," Dawn said while blushing. "Top it off with key lime pie, and it's a night," Odd teased. As the two flirt, the stirring wheel starts to spin. "What the hell?" Dawn asks. "Hey! Also, why are we still in traffic?" Odd asks. "Something is happening ahead." Dawn tries to get out of the car when Odd stops her. Where are you going?" Odd asks. "To see what is happening?" "No!" "What do you mean, no?" "Don't go out there! You don't know what is happening?" "I'm going. It beats staying in this car in traffic!" Dawn exits the car. "Stubborn, I'll you," Odd said as he followed. Dawn and Odd witnessed the traffic light blinking, cars spinning, and a gray ghost waving its arms around. "What is happening?" Dawn asks. "I don't know. I got our bags from the car. We should go somewhere and hide. As the pair runs down the street, waves of static rush through the poles, traffic lights, and cars. "It has a familiar mood," Odd said. The sky turns gray, and clouds start to form. "I'm scared," Dawn said. As Odd hugs her, a surge of energy charges at the couple, and Odd pushes Dawn out of the way and through a store window. "Are you okay?" Odd asks. "Yeah, are you?" Dawn asks. "Yeah." They get up, and Dawn gets a call from Aelita. "Aelita? Yeah, we're on our way. What! Are you sure?" "What is going on?" Odd asks. "I'll tell you on the way to the villa."
Brock and his girlfriend, Cressila, were eating brunch in a restaurant overlooking a garden scene. "It will be great to spend time with everyone," Cressila said. "It will be. We need this before we start going to university in the fall," Brock said. Cressila eats one of Brock's pieces of bacon. "Hey! My bacon," Brock exclaims. "Where? I don't see it," Cressila teases. Brock kisses her. "In your mouth," Brock teases. "I'm thinking, two summers ago, wasn't there a civil war among the group?" Cressila asked. "Don't remind me. I want a peaceful summer," Brock said. Cressila playfully taps Brock's nose with powder sugar and giggles. Brock giggles, too, then sneezes. "Bless you," Cressila said. "Thank you. I'm going to wash my hands," Brock said. While in the bathroom, Brock sees static all over the mirror light and fog entering the bathroom. Brock runs out and sees Cressila hiding under the table. "What is going on?" she asks. The wind pushed open the doors, and glass started to fly into the restaurant. Everyone hides. Brock uses the table to shield Cressila from the glass. He gets a phone call from Jeremy. "Really? I'm with Cressila. Okay, I'll try." Brock manages to get everyone out of the restaurant. "What is going on?" Cressila asks. "I'm not sure. However, I want to stay and figure it out," Brock said. "You?" "Yes. Please go back home and check in with our families. Please. It would make me feel better." Cressila nods in agreement. Brock kissed her, and Cressila headed for the airport for the next flight. As Brock heads for the villa, Cressila calls her family and Brock's, then follows Brock.
Over at the villa, Jeremy paces as Aelita looks out for the others. "They should be here soon," Aelita said. "Okay. I don't understand what is happening," Jeremy said. "It's back." "I know that!" Jeremy shouts. Aelita is jolted a little. Jeremy takes a deep breath. "Sorry." "It's okay," Aelita said. "It's a good thing we send Plusle and Minun back home. We don't need them getting hurt." Jeremy nods as the static waves cause the wires to spark. "What the fuck?" Aelita shouts."Let's get upstairs," Jeremy said. As they head upstairs, the others arrive. One by one, they race inside, avoiding the static and the ghost of an AI. They don't notice each other until they reach the villa's top floor. They all embrace each other as lightning strikes the villa's roof and knocks off only a security light. Cressila arrives, heads upstairs, and witnesses the group on the upstairs patio. They all look in horror as they see an enormous gray ghost scream and flash the eye of XANA in its center. "It's back," Aelita cries. Creesila looks in horror. "What is going on?" The group turns around and looks at Cressila. "Ya'll don't look that supposed at that thing. What is going on?" Cressila demands.
