The Green Mystery Part 1

Reefside Cemetery

It was a cloudy day in the town of Reefside. Folks were all dressed up in black. It was not a happy day, but a sad day for the citizens of Reefside. Everyone was feeling depressed, they all said their condolences to the family of the loved one that passed. Carrying the casket are a few familiar faces: Ethan James, Trent Fernandez-Mercer, Anton Mercer, Billy Crantson, Zack Taylor, TJ Johnson, Justin Stewart, and a few other men that are good old friends of Tommy Oliver.

Tommy Oliver has passed, leaving behind a sad Katherine. Kat Oliver sits next to her young son JJ, but there is an empty seat sitting next to her. The person who was supposed to be sitting next to her didn't show up. Hayley Ziktor sits next to the empty seat, she and Kat look at each other, but only for a short bit. They do not talk to each other.

The Men set the casket down, they go to their seats. Minh gives both her Uncle Zack and Uncle Billy a big hug. Both Zack and Billy are sad about losing their friend. They've been through a lot with him. Minh never knew Tommy, but she knew about his secret as a power ranger and that he was good old friends with her Uncle Zack and Uncle Billy. TL and Minh embrace each other.

Besides that empty seat in between Kat and Hayley, there were a few other empty seats as well, Jason having a hard time taking off work to go to the funeral along with Kimberly and Connor. Jason taking his team to a Karate Tournament, while preparing his Upcoming Football Season, and taking care of his family is something he couldn't drop. Connor McKnight is a professional soccer player, he gives Dr. O a shout out for being an inspiration towards him. Connor creates a gofundme page to donate to the family. Kimberly coaching her gymnastics team and taking them over to Japan is something she couldn't drop. Jason, Kimberly, and Connor were all too busy with their successful lives but were having a hard time taking the day or week off to fly out to Reefside. Even Rocky, Adam, and Aisha were all too busy with their own lives to take the day off. Rocky is married to Kelly and living on the other side of the country. Adam and Aisha are both working for SPA in the Galaxy, they are too busy working with a new group that they are training.

Minh looks at the casket, she looks to see that there wasn't just a high school teacher, paleontologist, or a power ranger. She sees a successful man who has risked his life to save the world and universe. Minh sees a Legendary Man who has helped others and taught those what was the difference between right or wrong. She wishes she could've met Tommy, but she is proud and thankful that her Mom and Dr. Oliver were a part of the first generation of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Minh asks TL if he ever met Tommy, TL responds "I've only met him when I was three, but I did know the fact I was named after him." TL looks at the fresh buried grave, "but I did hear great stories about him from my Mom and Auntie Kat. He even made my Mom feel welcome to Angel Grove High School" he says with a smile. Kira plays a memorial song on her guitar, honoring a great man who has helped her.

After the burial, Zack, Billy, Ethan, Trent, TJ, and Tanya all talk to each other. "That massive fire at Reefside Mall wasn't what caused it" Ethan says, trying to explain what has happened. Zack and Billy were curious about the whole thing "I don't think Tommy would end up in that massive fire" Zack said to them. Billy says to them, "precisely it was something else abnormal that nobody wanted to know about" he then asks "do you know what it was?" Trent and Ethan look at each other, Tanya gives them a nod. Ethan explains "it was Lord Drakkon. A powerful being trying to take over our universe." Everyone drops their jaws. Trent explains more "Dr. O did everything that he could to stop Lord Drakkon from taking over this universe. He had to sacrifice himself to stop him" he says, trying to hide his tears. Ethan comforts Trent "You did your best buddy, don't feel down on yourself" he says to him. Trent explains more "Dr. O and I were battling Drakkon, Ethan and Kira got everyone out of that mall safe and sound before anything could happen." Ethan adds more info "we did everything to keep everyone away, Trent even took a blast from Drakkon before Tommy took the blast off guard. I had to save Trent. But Dr. O sacrificed himself, not only to close the portal, but to destroy Lord Drakkon" he says to the group. "Tommy was a hero, and will always be a hero!" TJ says to them. Tanya nods "you're right, we should remember Tommy for what he has done for all of us! Not think about the bad times!" she says to them. They all smile, Zack, Billy, Ethan, Trent, TJ, and Tanya all give each other a group hug. They think positive about the Great Tommy Oliver.

Justin and Kat hug each other, he comforts her after this hard loss. Kat knew that Justin lost his mom before he became a ranger, she was always opening up to him but Justin declined her. Justin knew how caring Kat was and didn't want her to feel the same way he felt after losing his mom. Justin hugs Kat tightly, absorbing her tears like a sponge "You were always there for me Kat, now I'm here for you" he says to one of his favorite role models. Kat smiles "Thank you Justin" she says to him. They both think about the good times they had as rangers along with Tommy being there for them.

Angel Grove Airport - Terminal

Billy, Zack, and Minh return home. They knew that the big fire at the mall was a cover up from what really happened with Dr. Oliver and Lord Drakkon. Billy explains to Minh from what he heard from Trent, Ethan, and Kira, "Lord Drakkon tried to come into our dimension. He almost succeeded but Tommy stopped him from taking over the place. He used all of his ranger power and himself to save everyone." Minh is shocked to hear that there are other dimensions out there "so there are other universes where Tommy stayed evil?" she asks Billy curiously. Billy responds "so far, there is only one. But there are other universes where there are other power rangers. There could even be another universe where the power rangers or any type of evil have never existed."

Kwan / Taylor Household

After leaving the airport, Minh sees a familiar face standing outside on her lawn, it is Austin. Minh runs outside of the car to give him a hug. Austin smiles at Minh "I hope you're doing okay after the whole thing?" he says to her. Austin then gives Zack and Billy a hug, showing his empathy. Both his mentors admire Austin for coming to see them.

Kwan / Taylor Household - Living Room

Zack, Billy, Minh and Austin return to the Kwan / Taylor Household. Minh and Zack unpack their bags and get settled in. Austin and Minh have a drink of Coca-Cola. They get ready to go to hangout after being separated for the whole summer.

Minh reflects on her sophomore year, she thinks about her time when she got to be power ranger along with her friends. She had some crazy and epic adventures with them. Minh looks at Austin and looks back to her Uncle Billy and Uncle Zack "crazy how things have been last year" she says to them. Austin chuckles "yes, I still remember being suspicious about your secret activities, now I know what you've been doing this whole time." Minh remembers being the only ranger to do her own duties, now she has her own team of rangers to help her out. With Billy being their mentor along with Zack and Alpha 9.

"We should get out and get ready for the upcoming year" said Austin. Minh says to Austin "I could use the time to write my back to school speech for our Junior Class meeting." Austin says to his mentors "at least this time I know where she is at!" referring to last year when Minh was the only yellow ranger to do her duties. Zack chuckles at Austin "yeah, I remember having to hide my secret." Billy gets up from the couch, he says to them "I should probably get home and then check on William." Austin says to Billy "oh, I can check for you!" Billy says to Austin "no, you guys go out and have fun!" Austin rebels "no, I hadn't seen William all summer. Hell, even Grande Morevil took the rest of the summer off. Makes me wish he did something just so I can see everyone!" he thinks about Beverly. Zack asks Austin "are you sure it's not because you miss Beverly?" teasing him a little. "Yes, I do miss her," Austin admits "she's been at cheer camp all summer and I hadn't even gotten the time to go see her. Not even to teleport and go to her. I even had to go away to a seven week program to study at Washington D.C. because my parents made me…." Austin is annoyed by his parents. "I just wanna stay home and get a part time job for the summer" Austin says to them. Billy gives in, "go see William, he would love to see you." Austin looks at Billy if he just heard him right "wait, seriously?" Billy smiles "yes, go bug your friend!" Austin calls Sav on his communicator "Sav, change of plans, we're going to the command center!"

Dusk Bay Cavern

The Phantom Thieves practice their moves. They have been working on discovering their powers all summer. Training for their very moment to take over earth. Lady Darcine teleports into the cavern, she is very impressed to see the process they are making.

She claps her hands very slowly, applauding her very own henchmen from all the hard work they have put into themselves. "Phantom Thieves, you are now ready!" she says to the four. The Phantom Thieves all bow to Lady Darcine. "Lady Darcine, we have worked on our very own moves. We are here to please you to help take over Angel Grove!" Silvia says to her. Darcine smiles, she says "good, good. But there is one reason why I trained you these past three months?" Silvia responds "to destroy Angel Grove!" Lady Darcine laughs "good answer, but no!" The Phantoms all look at her, feeling puzzled. "What do you mean? Isn't this what we trained for?" asked Woodward. Lady Darcine pulls out a holographic picture, it shows footage of the Power Rangers "these are our greatest threats! The Power Rangers!" she says to them.

Cranston Technologies - Command Center

The command center is redecorated after the attack by Metallic Grant. Alpha 9 adds a few more details to the place, making sure that the command center is villain proof. William comes inside from the cafeteria, he has a cup of coffee in his hand. "Make sure everything is in tip top shape Alpha!" he says to him. Alpha checks the wiring, he sets a few things together "Just a few more" the wires connect "success!" Alpha says excitedly. William is proud to be an intern for Billy over the summer. "Thank you Alpha, go relax for a bit!" he says to the bot.

Minh, Austin, and Sav teleport over to the command center "how's my favorite intern doing!" Austin says to him. They high five each other. "Busy" said William as he sets his coffee down. "Where's Billy?" asks William, looking around the command center for him. "Billy is taking a personal day, he let us come over and check on you!" said Austin. William punches in some codes for data. The data shows that there is no crime in progress. Minh is surprised to see how busy William is "this is pretty good William, and without anyone else to come help!" she says, feeling impressed by him. William nods, "it's a lot of work, we are doing well despite not having a secretary. But we got a new one last week and she's really helped us out!" Sav asks in confusion "what happened to the one you started out with? Didn't you get a new one before the Fourth of July?" William responds "oh, she died during the Fourth of July, alcohol poisoning." The whole room goes silent. Minh just came from a funeral. William forgot about that, he goes silent feeling awkward about the situation. Austin, not wanting to make the command center feel depressing, says something to lighten up the mood "Well, I got to see the entire St. Louis Arch up close, and took the ride up there to see the city!" He says to the group. Sav understands what Austin is talking about "oh yeah. I remember going there during middle school. I forgot about that!" he says to him. William asks Austin "so when's Beverly going to get home?" Austin responds "oh right. She gets home from cheer camp in four days." Sav comes up with an idea "let's make a welcome home sign for her. She will definitely love the greeting!" Minh, William, and Austin smile "that's a great idea!" said Austin. "Ai yai yai, Beverly will surely love the idea!" says Alpha in agreement. "Then it's settled!" said Minh "we will stop by the airport and welcome Beverly home!" Sav takes out his phone "I'll call a few people and let them know where to meet up!" he starts texting a few people. There is "ding" coming from Austin's phone. Austin takes out his phone and checks it, his calendar sets him a reminder, Austin is annoyed. William notices Austins facial expression change "Something wrong?" he asks in concern.

Austin looks at his phone wanting to chuck it across the command center "it's this new student tour I have to do…" he says in annoyance. Sav looks at Austin "wait? You're apart of the student tour guides?" He asks Austin. Austin frowns "yes. My stupid parents signed me up for this bullshit!" He says feeling aggravated. "What's so bad about that?" asked William. Austin responds "because my parents want me to fill up my resume with extra curriculars…." He sits in the chair not wanting to go. William asks Austin "didn't Zack tell them that you are working at city hall for him?" Austin responds "yes, but they want me involved more and more in other bullcrap! I just wanna live my life like a regular teen…." He says to William, feeling frustrated. Sav asks Austin "couldn't you get someone else to do this?" Austin responds "no. Gladys is in Denmark, Caroline has soccer camp, Sean is playing Hockey in Detroit, Melissa has Mono, Sally has to work, Hyde, Fez, and Michael are all interning in Hollywood!" Austin stares at the floor feeling aggravated. "I told Melissa not to get with Joey!" Sav says to himself. Alpha decides to give Austin some words of encouragement "Austin, you must fulfill your duties as a student tour guide just like you do as a ranger. You shouldn't let your duties aggravate you! You are a hardworking ranger on and off of your duties!" said Alpha. Austin sucks it up "okay, thank you Alpha!" he gets up and teleports out.

Angel Grove High School - Basement

Austin teleports into the school basement. There are a few supplies that are either going into storage or coming out. He gets past the boxes, knocks one over in the process, and goes upstairs.

A janitor pops out of the boiler room, he goes over to see a box get knocked over, everything stored inside of the box is spilled out onto the floor "goddammit" he feels aggravated, he calls out to the other janitors "the mice are back!"

Angel Grove High School - Main Office

Austin comes from the Hallway to the main office. He walks inside with a fake smile, and sees the secretary. "Oh Austin, thank you for showing up" the secretary says to him. Austin says with a fake smile "it is wonderful to come! Thank you for having me!" he is not feeling great about coming at all. The secretary shows Austin the new student.

The new student is a girl with a red crop top, black short-shorts, black leather jacket, a spiked collar, spiked wristbands, and green to black sneakers. She has long dark hair that goes to her back. She looks at Austin, feeling annoyed that she has to go on this new student tour around the school. The Secretary introduces Austin "Austin, this is Tara. She's going to be a new student here in Angel Grove." Tara gets up feeling annoyed by the whole giving a new student a tour. She waves at Austin trying not to flip out. Austin, pretends to put on a smile "Welcome to Angel Grove High!" he then signals Tara, "Lets get on with the tour!" He says, trying to hide his annoyance. Tara says "whoopee" with a sarcastic tone. They walk out of the main office and go on with the tour.

Angel Grove High School - Hallway

Austin gives Tara a tour of the school. Tara seems uninterested, showing no emotion at all. Austin notices this, but tries to hide his emotion, trying to put on a smiling face. They take a turn and walk down the hallway, walking past the cafeteria. After the cafeteria, they go by a trophy case, "and this is where all of the varsity sports trophies are. Our Football team just won states last year. They hope to make a repeat!" he says to her, "Go Warriors!" he says with fake enthusiasm.

Tara looks at Austin, annoyed by his fake emotions, "cut the crap. I know you don't wanna do this" she says to him. Austin hides his expression "what do you mean? This is the tour I wanna give" he says to her, trying to show enthusiasm. Tara stares down at Austin "don't try this with me. I know how it goes…." she says, glaring at Austin. "I've met fake people back at my old school, don't be my first one here!" Austin is a bit imitated by her stare "I, I just-" Tara cuts him off "doing this for your college resume. Your parents made you do this" she crosses her arms at Austin. Austin feels exposed, weakened by Tara's tone of voice. Tara looks at Austin, reading him like a book "admit it, you just did this cause you were forced too" Austin is speechless, he doesn't know what to say. "N-no, I do!" he says, trying to hide it. Tara steps back "I'll scream, if you don't" she says to him. Austin stands there, trying to say something that can make Tara stop. Tara lies down on the ground on her back, she starts to scream, Austin stops her, he gets down on the floor to quiet her down, he covers her mouth to quiet her. He breaks down on her "yes, yes. Okay! I was forced too! I don't wanna do things that my parents wanted me to do! I just wanna follow my own path!" He spills this all out to her. Austin takes his hands off of Tara 's mouth, Tara smirks, "help me up Austin" she says with a laugh. Austin is shocked "are you kidding me?" he asks her furiously, backing away from her. Tara laughs at him "I couldn't help it! You just fell for it!" she lies on the floor laughing hysterically. Austin looks at her with a disgusted look on his face "I should just leave you there," Austin says to her. Tara responds "then I'll tell the school that you pushed me down and left me there!" she crosses her arms after saying this. Austin puts his hands up "fine with me. I was forced to tour here by my parents! I didn't wanna do this!" Tara giggles, she leaps up from the ground "you had me at 'didn't wanna do this!'" Tara friendly punches Austin. She walks forward, "are we gonna tour the school!" she says to him, giving him a wink. Austin is confused, but goes forward anyway. They both go down to the gym hallway messing around. Tara playfully fights Austin while Austin playfully fights Tara back. Tara runs away while Austin chases her. They playfully mess around in the hallway. Austin and Tara playfully fight, they end up in the gymnasium.

Angel Grove High School - Gymnasium

Austin and Tara playfully fight, they grab each other's arms, they slip and fall on the floor. The floor was freshly waxed. They're both okay, Austin and Tara laugh. They stare at each other, looking into their eyes, they kiss. Austin realizes that he kissed another girl, he is shocked. Tara looks at Austin, wondering what she did wrong. "Uh, I-I I think I… slipped" Austin says, trying to come up with an excuse. Tara isn't buying it. "You slipped?" Tara asks Austin while giving him a look. "Yeah, that's it!" He says, trying to keep himself from being a cheater. "Come on? What is this about?" Tara asks Austin. "I slipped, my lips landed on yours" he says poorly. Tara eyes him "you slipped? By accident?" she then gives him a seductive look "Or on purpose?" She says to him. Austin isn't sure, Tara comes closer to him. Austin tries to back away, but he is lying still. Tara kisses him. "Sorry, I slipped," she says to Austin. Austin kisses her back, Tara kisses him, both Austin and Tara begin to kiss each other. They make out on the freshly waxed gym floor.

Moments later, Austin and Tara cuddle on the bleachers. Austin just met this girl and already he has fallen for her. While they both embrace each other, Austin asks her "so what brought you here?" Tara responds "just a lot going on. Mom was busy with her drama so she made me live here with relatives." Austin asks her more "do you and your mom get along?" Tara says "only when I'm not getting in trouble" she then stares at the ground "she wanted me to get away from the trouble back at my old hometown. She was too busy with her business and my dad wasn't in the picture. So she made me spend my junior year here." Austin looks at her, he asks Tara "Is your dad still around?" Tara ignores Austins question, she asks Austin a little more about himself.

Tara learns a little more about Austin, him being a member of sco, tour guide, academic club, and class vice president of every class since the 8th Grade. Right after Tara hears this, she says to him "you know you can do better." Austin is confused "what do you mean?" He asks her. "You should be class president," Tara says to him. "The class president does a better job. I don't think I can do that much work" he says to her. Tara looks at Austin "You can do better. You gotta put your mind into it" she says to him. Tara gets up and asks Austin "don't you wanna take charge of something instead of following others!" Austin thinks for a moment, he is about to answer that until a janitor walks into the gym, he shouts "hey! You kids shouldn't be in here!" Both Tara and Austin look at the janitor, they both run away before they get caught up and beat by the mop.

Angel Grove High School - Hallway

Austin and Tara conclude their tour. He looks at Tara knowing that she is gonna be a great fit here. Tara smiles at him "I really enjoyed the tour" she says to him. Austin smiles at her, Tara gives him a good vibe. "You should come hangout with me. You would like my friends" he says to her. Tara asks "you think we can go now?" Austin is about to answer until his communicator goes off. Tara looks at Austin, wondering what that beeping is. "Oh, that's my uh, pager!" He says to her. Tara crosses her arms, not believing him, Austin then says to her "I-I gotta go!" He scurries away before Tara could try to read him. He storms out of the door.

Angel Grove High School - Football Field

Austin scurries to find a private place to talk to Alpha. He goes to the Football Field to answer, nobody is there. He stands inside of the pressbox making sure he is in a private area. Austin answers his communicator "what's up Alpha?" He says to him. Alpha 9 answers, "Austin, you must head over to the quarry! I'll alert the other rangers" he says to him. Austin nods, "I'll be right there." Austin faces the camera, he yells "It's Morphin Time!"

"Tyrannosaurus!"

Austin morphs into the red ranger and teleports to the quarry.

Angel Grove Quarry

Austin teleports over, he sees Minh, Sav, and William. They are all morphed into their ranger forms. All they are missing is Beverly, who is still at cheer camp across the country. He runs over to catch up with the trio.

"Hey guys!" Austin says, he then looks around the place "so what's going on here?" He asks curiously. Lady Darcine appears, she glares at the rangers from the cliff "Welcome Power Rangers!" She says to them. The Rangers all turn to see Lady Darcine. "What do you want, Darcine?" Sav asks her, wondering what kind of trick this is. Darcine responds "to meet some new friends of mine!" Appearing across from her are the Phantom Thieves! "Meet the Phantom Thieves!" She says to them.

The Phantom Thieves pop out in a dusky smog, they stare down at the rangers. The rangers are shocked, "no way? But they're dead!?" Austin says in disbelief.

"My name is Silvia and you will bow towards me!" he says with a laugh. The rest of the Phantom Thieves introduce themselves: The Garnet Feminine one introduces herself as "Rave", The Violet one introduces himself as "Vassel", The Forest Green one introduces himself as "Woodward" they all go a group pose calling themselves "We are The Phantom Thieves!"

"We'll put you back to the dead just like the citizens did to you before!" yells Austin. The other rangers wonder what he is talking about, but they do not ask. Minh then thinks about the project that Austin and Beverly did back in 7th Grade. Sav isn't sure, but he looks at the Phantom Thieves "Right! We will take you down!" yells Sav. Lady Darcine laughs "you think they can take you down! They only listen to me. I am their master after all" she says, showing herself off. Silvia turns to Darcine "About that!" He grabs his fencing sword and slices Darcine in the knee. Vassel kicks her in the jaw. Rave grabs Darcine by the neck and sends a shockwave towards her. Woodward takes out his fencing sword and slices her in the back, they all throw Darcine down the cliff. Lady Darcine goes flying off of the cliff and lands on the ground, she is in massive pain "what the hell?!" she asks in disbelief. The Phantoms fire their lasers at her, Lady Darcine takes the hit. "We won't listen to you!" Woodward says to her. "We only used you for training!" said Rave. "We'll take our book and make our own monsters!" said Vassel. Lady Darcine struggles to get up, she yells in pain "YOU! I CREATED YOU!" she tries to stand on her own two feet. Silvia flies over to her "and you will die!" he yells, getting ready to stab her. All of a sudden, a green energy ball flies right towards Silvia, he flies over getting blasted by the energy ball, he falls on the ground in pain. Silvia gets up wondering who sent that to him. The three remaining Phantom Thieves turn over to see a figure dressed in green, a Green Power Ranger that is similar to Austins suit. "No way? It can't be?" says William in disbelief. Minh is shocked and confused "b-but he's dead… he can't be alive?" she says. Sav turns to Minh "he's dead?" he asks in confusion.

Flashback to the funeral

Minh looks at the tombstone, she asks Billy and Zack all about Tommy. Billy tells Minh everything about him since he has fought with him the longest. Ethan then explains that the green power morpher has disappeared. "The Green Power Morpher has disappeared?" asked Billy in concern. "Yes it has! The Green Power Morpher is gone!" Ethan says to him. "Did you try tracing its power?" Billy asks Ethan. Ethan answers "yes, yes I have. But it's out of our system! It's like it disappeared while Tommy sacrificed himself." Zack asks Ethan "did you at least go back to the scene to find the power morpher?" Trent responds "yes we did! Me, Ethan, and Kira all looked all over the place!" Kira adds on "yes, there is no trace of Dr. O or his power morpher. It has disappeared out of thin air!" Zack and Billy worry, they know that Tommy has had issues with his green power coin in the past. They both want to say that the green power coin has finally used up all of its energy, but they are also concerned that the green power coin could fall into the wrong hands. "Minh, make sure that the rangers are okay!" Zack says to her. "I'll trace for anything in the database. Maybe it's gone forever or it has fallen into the wrong hands" Billy says to them. "We'll check the ruins again! Maybe it's still hidden and we didn't notice it at all" Ethan says to the group.

The Flashback Ends.

The Green Ranger blows into its flute dagger, sending green shockwaves towards the Phantom Thieves. They are damaged. The Green Ranger eyes the Phantoms, then looks at the rangers. Austin is confused "no way?" Minh asks the mysterious green ranger "who are you?"

The Green Ranger turns around and stares down at the Power Rangers!
