Play "Falling" by Cryoshell

Instrumental

The screen starts off black. One by one, spotlights come on, revealing the three Rangers looking at the ground. They then lift their heads as the title Power Rangers: Paleo Force shatters through the remaining darkness above them.

Lights out.

Duncan, Brody, and Cooper stand together at the generic quarry, looking at their Zords and smiling.

No one's here.

Kenny is working on a circuit board with a robotic hand sitting on his desk. He grins as he taps the circuit board with a stylus, making the hand twitch.

Hear the silence.

Jane and Brody are together at the hospital, Jane bandaging Brody's leg.

Scent of fear.

All the heroic characters look up to the sky.

You start running.

The view moves up into space, where we see our main villains in their spaceship, followed by a close-up of each of them.

With mistrusting and skeptical eyes.

We get a shot of Cooper, Duncan, and Brody staring down an army of Shadows.

Are you haunted?

The three look at each other before nodding.

I call out.

One by one, they take fighting stances as they ready their morphers.

I'm counting on you.

The screen cuts to black.

Falling.

All three Rangers charge in slow motion as an explosion goes off in the background.

Is this the end of the line, and can we make it in time?

In a rotating shot, Brody slashes Shadows with his Carnage Sword, Cooper shoots them with his cannon, and Duncan blasts enemies with his Switch-Gun.

Falling.

We see Brody, unmorphed, calling out in distress with his arm outstretched.

My world is spinning around. I'm crashing into the ground.

Calios descends from space like a comet and, after landing, steps forward, slowly drawing his sword.

Falling.

Moses folds his arms as three silhouetted figures gather on either side of him.

Now I need you to see it's up to you and me.

The Paleo Force Megazord shifts into sword-and-shield mode. It slashes a monster and then uses its Cryo Slash on it, making it explode.

I'm counting on you.

Consecutive shots of Cooper doing a Ranger Punch, Duncan doing a Ranger Slash, and Brody doing a Ranger Kick at the screen.

Cut to the end of the song as the music fades out.

The Rangers stand confidently in front of their respective Zords, who roar behind them as the screen fades to black again.

A week had gone by since Cooper had joined the merry band of Power Rangers. On the bus ride to school, Duncan and Brody felt relieved that their janitor friend had the day off today. This meant he'd be able to take on any threat that might show up in their absence. Maybe it was a lot to ask of someone who hadn't been a Ranger for that long, but he'd have help from the Cryos.

"Hey, check it out," Duncan pointed out the window.

Brody followed the line of his finger to three random guys on the sidewalk beating the crap out of each other. While it was a little weird, the boys figured it was just a few drunk idiots and dismissed it. Their threshold for what they considered dangerous or bizarre had gone way up lately.

"Do I really gotta patrol on my day off?" Cooper complained. "I thought the Cryos had that taken care of."

"Your friends said that a new monster shows up every week or so," Dickson replied. "So it would be wise for you to keep an eye out, just in case."

The janitor was about to reply when he noticed something out of the ordinary: a guy passionately making out with a tree.

'Well, that ain't normal' Cooper thought. Walking over, he asked, "Hey, buddy? Why are ya kissing a tree?"

"Because I'm horny," was the response he got.

"Uhhh…" Cooper and Dickson couldn't even find words.

The Scotsman figured the guy was on something and decided to move along, but before he could get far, he felt his wallet leaving his pocket. He spun around and grabbed the assailant by the hair. "What do you think you're doing?" he asked.

The would-be thief struggled to get free from the janitor's grip, but to no avail. "Taking what's yours."

"Why?"

"BECAUSE YOU HAVE IT!" The thief made another grab for Cooper's wallet, only to be shoved away. Figuring he couldn't win in a straight fight, the thief simply made a run for it.

As if two weirdos weren't enough to make his head spin, Cooper then heard someone cry out. Turning around, he saw two other people committing separate acts of burglary, with a traffic cop trying to get them under control. Then the sound of chewing drew his gaze away. Looking down, he saw a guy eating dirt, muttering "so hungry" between bites.

"Is everyone suddenly losing their minds?" the Scotsman wondered.

"It's certainly looking like that," Dickson said.

Cooper began scanning the area. "A monster has to be behind this. That, or there's something in the water."

The Pink Ranger's Zord agreed, "I'm having the Cryolophosaurs look around."

The janitor went on the move, but no matter where he looked, he couldn't see a trace of anything resembling a monster. "Where could it be?"

"I'm not sure," lamented Dickson. "We've been searching high and low."

High and low? His Zord's comment made Cooper realize something: they hadn't been searching high. He immediately entered a tall building and made his way to the roof.

With a better view, he spotted a figure several buildings away. Figuring it was the monster perpetrator, he activated his morpher and donned his Ranger suit before hopping between buildings to get to it. Once he got there, he got a better look at the beast, particularly the menagerie of animal heads sticking out of it. Its main head was that of a goat, while on its chest was a boar's face. Its hands ended in a dragon's head on the right and a fox's head on the left, and on its left and right feet were the heads of a bear and a lion, respectively. Its winding green tail was a snake, the only animal involved that seemed to have an entire body.

The monster quickly took notice of him. "Well, if it isn't the newest Power Ranger… Why are you wearing a skirt?"

"It's a kilt."

"So it's a man-skirt? Nice," the monster replied, unfazed. Cooper facepalmed as it continued, "Allow me to introduce myself. I am a creature modeled after the seven deadly sins. I am Seven-Up!"

Cooper tapped his belt buckle and summoned his cannon. "Yeah? Well, sin this!"

He fired, only for the monster to dodge and shoot back a blast of red energy from its dragon hand. In order to evade the counterattack, the Pink Ranger was forced to ditch his heavy cannon. He then charged at the beast and tackled him off the roof.

Neither combatant was harmed much by the fall; in fact, it hurt more when Seven-Up kicked Cooper off him after they landed. Before the Ranger could try and attack again, the monster began spinning in place, firing energy blasts from all his animal faces. "Multi-Sin Barrage!"

Cooper and several nearby civilians were struck and instantly affected.

"This…must…be sloth," the Pink Ranger slowly got out as he lay on the ground. He felt like someone had just sucked all the motivation right out of him. It took a ton of energy just to speak. Turning his head a little bit, he saw that the people around him were stealing, punching, and humping. At least he'd been right about all the weird behavior.

Dickson sighed at this outcome. "Cryolophosaurs, we need some assistance."

Brody's phone buzzed in his pocket. Making sure the teacher wasn't looking, he checked and saw the news. The headline read 'New Power Ranger beaten by latest monster' with a picture of Cooper lying on the ground, unmoving.

Sneaking a peak, Duncan frowned. "That doesn't look good."

"Is that a phone I see, Mr. Branson?"

The brothers looked up to see they'd caught the teacher's eye. The two shared a single thought: 'Aw, crap.'

"It's got the power of the seven deadly sins?" Duncan repeated.

Cooper let his head fall. "Yeah, it's how he got me when we fought." After school, the three Rangers had met up at the brothers' house to hear how things had gone with the monster.

Brody tried to console him, "Hey, don't take it so hard. You're still new at this. Even Duncan and I have lost to a monster of the week at least once or twice before."

"Thanks, lad," the janitor said as he made his exit. "I'm gonna go work out. It'll help me with lifting that cannon."

After he left, the brothers sat in silence for a moment before Duncan wondered, "Did we ever mope that much when we lost fights?"

"No, you guys just got your wounds treated and then trained for less than an hour," Chazz commented.

"Less than an hour, huh?" Brody got a thoughtful look on his face. "Do you think we should hit the gym too? It'd probably help us down the line."

"Pass," said Duncan immediately.

Unsurprised by his brother's response, Brody got up. "Well, given what Cooper told us about the monster, I think I'm gonna go practice dodging energy blasts."

"You have fun with that," Duncan said as he lit up a joint.

Heading to the generic quarry, Brody called on his Cryolophosaurus. Morphing, he handed his pistol to the dino. "Okay, when I say 'Go!' I want you to try shooting me with this."

The Cryo looked the gun over before growling, which Carl helpfully translated, "He said, 'How do I use this thing?'"

"You point it at stuff and then pull the trigger," Brody explained.

The blue dino initially had some trouble due to its thumbless, clawed hands, but eventually managed to open fire at the Ranger.

Brody did alright dodging, but he still took a hit every so often. He worried it wouldn't be enough when their enemy could fire seven blasts at a time.

"Hey, Brody!" the high schooler looked over to see Cooper approaching. "Preparin' for the fight with the beast, eh?"

"I am. Wanna join me?" Brody asked. When the Scotsman nodded, Brody said to his Cryo, "You know what to do—Wait til he morphs, though."

Cooper quickly activated his morpher and donned his suit before darting about to evade the gunfire.

After an hour, the two Rangers gave it a rest and began to take inventory of their gear.

"So, how come you and Duncan have got those nifty pistols and I've got a huge cannon?" Cooper asked.

Brody shrugged. "I'm not sure. None of us actually picked what weapons we got. But hey, at least you've got a lot of firepower."

"Yeah, I guess so," the Scotsman agreed. "Anyway, you're a lot better at shooting than you are with your hands. I've seen you and Duncan fight monsters on the news and, I gotta say, you two are kinda sloppy in a fistfight."

"Well, we were never in any fights before we became Rangers," Brody clarified, feeling a little defensive.

Cooper tilted his head. "So you guys don't know any martial arts at all?"

"Nope."

The Pink Ranger put his hands on his hips and shook his head, clicking his tongue in disapproval. "Tch, tch, tch. That won't do. Fortunately, you got a trained boxer for a teammate."

"Uh, does boxing even count as a martial art?" Brody asked.

"Of course it does," Cooper scoffed at the question. "It gives you skills you can use in a real fight. If that doesn't make it a martial art, then what does?"

Brody nodded in agreement before realizing something, "Wait, how is boxing going to help me if I have weapons?"

"It never hurts to be prepared," the janitor said as he raised his fists. "You might find yourself in a situation where the only weapons on you are your own two hands. Now, show me what you got."

As instructed, Brody went in and threw a punch. Cooper blocked it and hit the boy in the face with a cross. In an instant, the Pink Ranger switched his style to in-fighting and overwhelmed Brody with uppercuts, overhands, hooks, every kind of punch you could imagine.

Jumping back to gain some distance, the Blue Ranger drew his Switch-Gun and attacked with it in its sword mode. Cooper ducked under the slash and hit him with a one-two punch. Recovering, Brody tried a downward slash, only for the Pink Ranger to sidestep him and punch him in the ribs.

Eventually, Brody had had enough. "Okay, okay! I get it! Boxing is useful."

With the spar over, Cooper relaxed his stance. "Heh, damn right. So, what's next on the agenda?"

Brody checked the news on his phone. "Well, that monster's still on the loose. How about we deal with that?"

He called Duncan, only to get no response. "I bet he got high and passed out again," he muttered.

Riding their Cryos to the Branson household, the duo walked in, with Brody calling out, "Duncan! Get your ass up! We gotta go fight that monster Cooper told us about!"

There was no response.

"Do I hear music?" Cooper asked, putting a hand to his ear.

Listening closely, Brody found that Cooper was right; there was some chill music coming from the bedroom.

Opening the door, the two Rangers saw their third member and the white Cryolophosaurus dancing to "Falling" by Iration.

"Does anyone else feel uncomfortable?" Dickson asked through Cooper's bracelet.

"Yes. I do. So much," Chazz answered through Duncan's bracelet.

Brody walked up to his brother and bitch-slapped him. "Come on, we're going somewhere."

"Aw, Mom, do I have to?" the stoned teen asked.

The younger brother said nothing as he dragged Duncan out the door with Cooper close behind.

"Are you gonna be okay?" the janitor asked Brody. "I went kinda rough on you during our spar."

"I'll be fine," Brody replied. "Besides, I just know that training is gonna pay off. We're gonna crush that monster this time." Cooper smiled at the reassurance. Double-checking social media, Brody led the trio to the town square.

When they arrived, they were immediately treated to the sight of Seven-Up using his dragon arm to rip someone's head off while using his snake tail to bite the neck of someone behind him. The only silver lining to the grisly sight was that, aside from the two victims, all other civilians had fled.

The three heroes activated their morphers, with Brody yelling "Henshin!" as they donned their suits.

Before the battle began, Cooper stopped everything with a question, "What was that you just said?'"

"It's a thing from a show he likes," Duncan chuckled, his eyes still a little bloodshot.

He and Brody quickly drew their pistols and fired on the monster. Seven-Up dodged the attacks and retaliated with blasts from his various heads. The Blue and Pink Rangers put their training to use and successfully evaded the barrage. Their white teammate wasn't so lucky and ended up taking a shot; it happened so fast, they couldn't even tell which head it had come from. For a second, it seemed like nothing happened, but then he started shuffling around, using his hands like pincers and repeating the word 'money' over and over.

Tearing his eyes away from the sight, Brody asked the monster, "What the fuck was that?"

"If you couldn't tell, I afflicted him with the deadly sin of greed," Seven-Up chuckled.

"Yeah? How about I afflict you with some pain?" Cooper boasted as he summoned his cannon. The ensuing blast knocked Seven-Up to the next block over. The Rangers followed him and continued their assault.

Seven-Up spun in place, his snake tail extending and swiping the heroes' feet out from under them. Targeting Brody, the monster ran up to him and began literally kicking him while he was down.

Cooper quickly got to his feet and threw a flurry of punches at the multi-headed beast. The monster powered through the attacks and responded with a few powerful swings of his own.

Through the eyes on his snake tail, Seven-Up saw that Brody was charging up an attack with his pistol. In response, he spun in place and fired beams from all his heads. "Multi-Sin Barrage!"

Unfortunately, the Rangers couldn't avoid all the blasts this time, with all three taking a hit.

Cooper felt rage like he'd never known before. Forgetting about the monster, he looked around for something to hit before deciding to just punch the grass on the curb. "HE'S MAKIN'! ME! BEAT! UP! GRASS!"

The Blue Ranger, on the other hand, was feeling the desire to have anything that looked even remotely valuable. Spotting a dime on the ground, Brody grabbed it and held it to his chest, hissing, "Must gather more precious!"

The sight of the two made Seven-Up chuckle before he realized something important, "Wait a minute, where's the last one?"

Right on cue, the monster was slashed from behind by Duncan.

"What happened?!" cried Seven-Up. "I thought I hit you with the sin of lust! How can you still focus on anything?!"

Duncan just laughed. "Are you joking? So what if I'm super horny? That won't stop me from crushing you." With that, he threw another slash, only for Seven-Up to catch his blade in the teeth of his dragon hand.

The monster punched the White Ranger in the chest before spinning him around and throwing him at Cooper. This, however, drew Cooper's wrathful attention to the beast; he charged it, roaring with each punch. Before Seven-Up could try and counterattack, Duncan rejoined the fight, getting in one slash after another. In desperation, the monster of the week let out another Multi-Sin Barrage, hitting each of the Rangers again.

This time, each member of the team felt a new effect. Duncan collapsed on his side, unmotivated to do anything, while Cooper tossed his cannon to the side and ran over to steal his Switch-Gun.

Brody, on the other hand, had an air of superiority about him; suddenly, he was filled with an overpowering confidence. The Blue Ranger pointed a finger to the sky.

"Grandmother said this," he stated. "'If you wish it so, luck will always be on your side.'" He aimed his finger at the monster. "And I wish for your defeat."

"Uh, what?" Seven-Up replied, confused.

The teen began casually strolling toward his enemy before coming to a stop right in front of him. For a few brief seconds, nothing happened. Then Seven-Up threw the first punch, only for Brody to parry the attack. Remembering Cooper's swarming attack from earlier, he let loose with a flurry of punches—though, since he wasn't a boxer like his teammate, he added a kick here and there as well.

Managing to knock the young hero away, Seven-Up observed the situation, "Well, it looks like hitting you with the sin of pride backfired. Fortunately, that's an easy fix." With that, he launched another round of sin blasts from his heads.

Feeling positively fearless, Brody nonchalantly dodged each one as his foot glowed blue with ice energy. The young man drew his Switch-Gun as he advanced, firing two shots that froze Seven-Up's feet in place. Once he reached the monster, he simply smiled and said, 'Ranger Kick' before throwing a devastating roundhouse.

He began walking away, refusing to look back as his enemy exploded behind him.

Suddenly, he felt all his extra bravado leave him. "Whoa, I can't believe I just channeled Kabuto." Looking over, he saw that his teammates were also no longer feeling their sins.

"Hey, I'm not envious anymore!" Cooper observed with delight. "I kinda wanted to finish the monster meself, though."

"And I'm back to being slightly motivated," Duncan said as he got up.

Knowing what was coming next, Brody contacted the Zords. "Guys? We beat the monster. You should probably get over here."

"We're on our way," Carl replied.

Calios sighed, "Lensia, give Seven-Up a 1up. Factoraze, back to the drawing board."

Understanding what her leader needed, the witch began casting her magic. Factoraze, on the other hand, had little to interpret himself; he walked over to a literal drawing board and got to work.

The Zords actually managed to arrive on time, just as the monster grew huge. Instead of combining right away, Chazz and Carl began the fight separately, firing ice beams from their mouths.

Seven-Up knocked the beams away with his enormous tail and fired sin blasts from his hands. Separately, each Ranger wondered if the larger blasts would also amplify the effects; they didn't particularly want to find out.

Chazz's frill deflected the beam aimed at him, but Carl had no such luck. Filled with wrath, the Carnozord roared and swung his drill tail at his smaller ally.

As Chazz moved to evade his friend's strikes, Duncan turned to Brody. "Can't you do something? He's your Zord!"

The Blue Ranger nodded and spoke into his morpher, "Carl! Snap out of it!"

Carl simply roared again and continued attacking.

The Rangers looked on in dismay before a large blast of energy knocked them off their feet.

Seven-Up chuckled, "Perfect! With your Zords fighting each other, I can crush you all like bugs!" Before he could do any crushing, however, he was struck by Dickson's Hydro Pump.

"You still have me to contend with," the Dicraeozord stated boldly.

"Speaking of contenders, where's that brown Zord I've seen sometimes?" Cooper wondered as he picked himself up. "We need all hands on deck for this one."

Despite being engaged with Carl at the moment, Chazz managed to answer his question, "Kelly's out collecting gems! There's no telling where she is!"

Meanwhile, Dickson was on the defensive in his battle against Seven-Up. Due to his lack of speed, he was unable to dodge any of his enemy's blasts, which forced him to waste time shooting the attacks down in midair.

"Cooper, I could use some assistance right now," the Pink Zord admitted.

"How am I supposed to help?" his human partner asked.

"You don't have to get close," the sauropod said, "but we could sure use a distraction!"

Cooper summoned his cannon before turning to his teammates, "Alright, boys, I'll go help Dickson while you two try and get our big blue friend under control."

Fortunately, the shots from his cannon were strong enough to grab Seven-Up's attention, allowing Dickson some breathing room.

Meanwhile, the brothers were at a loss as to what to do about Carl. "Maybe we should try shooting him?" Duncan suggested.

"Normally, I might criticize an idea like that, but I don't really have a better one, so okay," Brody replied as they drew their Switch-Guns.

But their shots did nothing as Carl lunged at Chazz again. The Chasmozord dodged, leaping back from the blows and firing an ice beam from his mouth. Carl responded in kind, resulting in a beam-o-war, with Chazz on the losing side.

Holstering his gun, Brody sighed, "I know I'm gonna regret this."

"Regret what?" Duncan wondered.

Without answering, the Blue Ranger raised his morpher to his mouth. "Carl! Get yourself under control!" The Carnotaurus responded with another roar, prompting Brody to say something that shocked everyone, "Carl, are you talking back to your mother?!"

"…Say what?" Cooper blinked. Chazz, Dickson, and even Seven-Up were speechless while Duncan just started cracking up.

Fortunately, Brody's exclamation had the intended effect: Carl stopped in his tracks before lowering his head in remorse, "I'm sorry, Mother."

"Apology accepted. Now, combine with Chazz so we can beat this monster," Brody instructed.

Carl nodded and transformed into the main body of the Megazord, with Chazz attaching as the right arm. The main two Rangers entered the mecha, switching it to sword-and-shield mode and heaving their sword at the monster.

Seven-Up caught the sword again with his dragon hand. Glancing to the side, he noticed Dickson firing a Hydro Pump at him, which he countered with a blast from his fox head.

Unable to free their blade from their enemy's mouth, the Rangers fired an ice beam from the Megazord's chest head. Seven-Up responded with a beam from the boar head on his own chest. The close-range collision knocked both combatants away.

Dickson fired another water beam at the monster. Seven-Up met the blast with several of his own, overpowering the Pink Zord.

The Rangers moved in, bashing the chimera with their shield. They then had the Megazord fire its ice beam. This time, however, when Seven-Up countered their blast, they caught him off guard by firing their eyebeams immediately afterward, hitting him in his goat head.

The monster stumbled back before growling, "Alright, now I'm REALLY—"

"Hey, arsehole!"

Upon being cut off, Seven-Up looked to his right shoulder to see Cooper standing there with his cannon fully charged.

"This is for me friends!" the Pink Ranger shouted as he fired.

The shot hit Seven-Up right in the eye, making him yell in pain, "Ahhh! When the hell did you even get on my shoulder?"

"Five seconds ago!" Cooper replied as he leapt to safety. "Hit him now, boys!"

The brothers geared up for the Cryo Slash, only for Seven-Up to stop them in their tracks with his next statement, "You don't want to kill me! If you do, all the sins fermenting within me will be released! The entire town will become infected!"

Duncan, Brody, and the Zords hesitated.

"Now what do we do?!" the White Ranger shouted.

"I have an idea!" Cooper replied. "Can you guys launch him into space somehow?"

Brody grinned under his helmet. "Probably!"

He had the Megazord thrust its sword through the monster's torso before lifting the blade up quickly, launching him into the air. He then fired the mecha's eyebeams and ice beam at once, propelling Seven-Up further. "Full power, Duncan!"

The ginger teen nodded, focusing his energy into his control orb. Both boys let out a battle cry as the beams from their Megazord intensified. Thankfully, their efforts paid off, and Seven-Up was launched so far into the atmosphere that none of the Rangers could see him anymore.

Cooper turned to his Zord, who had recovered from the beam-o-war. "Dickson, you're up!"

"Say no more!" the pink sauropod reared up to face the sky. "Boys, hold me steady!" The Blue and White Rangers had the Megazord drop its weapons and place its hands on Dickson's torso, making sure he didn't fall back to all fours. The Dicraezord's head and neck split down the middle as he charged his strongest attack. Just as he fired, the two halves of his head cried out, "Hydro Cannon!"

Calios and his lackeys looked on in bemusement as their most recent monster floated right past their ship.

"You need any help?" Moses asked the chimera.

Seven-Up waved him off, "Nah, if I use my sin blasts out here, I can just propel myself back to Earth. Watch this!"

As if in response to his statement, a large blue beam of energy surged forward from the planet's surface and struck him, blowing him up almost instantly.

"Hmm, well, that just happened," Calios said before chuckling, "Normally, I'd be a bit mad, but I have such a despicable plan for next time that I don't mind."

With the battle won, the boys exited the Megazord and de-morphed to talk to Cooper.

"Nice plan back there, man," Duncan complimented him.

Cooper grinned. "Thanks. Would you believe I came up with it on the fly?"

"Eh, it's not that weird," the younger Branson brother chimed in. "That's kind of how we do things here."

There was a pause before Cooper inevitably brought up something from the fight, "So, Brody…I had no idea you were a mother."

That made Duncan start laughing all over again.

Hope you all liked the title sequence.
