Another day of classes had passed at UA, and with that came another few hours of relaxation. Deku didn't mind not knowing what each day would bring, because even if there was the possibility of a villain attack, he at least had the satisfaction of knowing that he could spend his free time with his darling Todoroki, aka His Favorite Girl Ever. When he heard knocking on his door, he figured it was her:

"Come in, Shoko!"

Of course, Todoroki entered, and she exchanged a big hug and kiss with Deku. When they broke away, however, Todoroki sighed.

"Shoko, you don't seem well. Is everything OK?"

Todoroki nodded. "Technically, nothing's wrong. It's just…Uraraka told me about this book club that she and Tsu go to, and I decided it would be a fun thing to go to, but…I'm nervous about going."

"Why?"

"It's just…" Todoroki averted her gaze. "I kinda know what a book club is, but at the same time, I don't know exactly what to expect."

Deku smiled and put his hands on Todoroki's shoulders. "It's OK! Basically, you discuss the book that the club picked out. It should be fun! If it makes you feel any better, though, I'll go with you as moral support!"

"That's nice, but…it's a women's book club."

"Hey, I'm sure they won't mind just once! Besides, if Uraraka and Tsu are going, I'm sure they'll vouch for me!"

Todoroki looked back at Deku and smiled. "Oh, what the heck!"

Deku smiled too. "Grand!"

This book club – the Musutafu Young Women's Book Club – was being held in a private room at the Musutafu Public Library. The building was a thoroughly modern building covered by energy-efficient windows on the outside. The room in question was clearly marked by a portable whiteboard with the name of the group on it. When Deku and Todoroki arrived, Uraraka and Tsu were already there, along with a young woman with long, voluminous emerald green hair. Immediately, she took notice of Deku:

"Sir, I'm glad you're interested, but this is a women's book club. I'm afraid you'll have to leave."

"Oh, I uh…I'm just here as moral support for my girlfriend. This is her first time, and she's nervous about the whole thing, so she asked me to come along."

The woman gave Deku a look of disbelief. Then, she smiled:

"Well…OK…I can allow it this once."

Deku bowed. "Thank you!"

"By the way, glad you could make it, Shoko!" said Uraraka.

"Yeah, it's nice to have a friend along, ribbit," said Tsu.

"I'm glad too," said Todoroki. "I wasn't sure about the whole thing at first, but I guess it could be fun."

"Really, you'll enjoy it!" said Uraraka. "Everyone here is super-friendly!"

Todoroki smiled. "Well, that's encouraging!"

"Hey Uraraka, hey Asui…wait, why are Midoriya and Todoroki here, and isn't this supposed to be a women's book club?"

Deku turned to see who'd entered: Mei Hatsume, of all people.

"Mei, I told you to call me 'Tsu'."

Deku smiled. "Oh hey, Hatsume. I'm just here to support Todoroki."

"Ochaco recommended this club to me, and I thought the book we picked out looked interesting, so I thought I'd give it a try!" Todoroki turned to the leader. "By the way, I don't believe I've introduced myself. I'm Shoko Todoroki, youngest daughter of Endeavor."

The leader gasped. "You're Endeavor's DAUGHTER!? Wow, that is too cool! Anyways, my name is Asuka Kobayashi; I've been leading this club for six years now."

"Nice to meet you!"

Todoroki took Asuka's hand and kissed it, causing her to giggle.

"Hey Asuka, how you been?" asked someone else. "Wait, since when did we become a co-ed book club?"

Deku turned to see who'd entered: a somewhat-older woman of average height and build with blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Don't mind me, Miss; I'm just here as moral support for my girlfriend."

"Oh, how nice of ya! My name is Michi Mizuno."

"And I'm Izuku Midoriya. My girlfriend Shoko Todoroki is the one attending this book club."

Todoroki stood up and smiled. "How do you do?"

Todoroki bowed before Mizuno.

"So, what brought ya to this book club, Todoroki?"

"It was Ochaco's doing. I heard about her talking about this book club at school, so I figured I'd give it a try."

"Oh, you and Uraraka go to school together? Awesome sauce!"

"Indeed. Her and I have become good friends since the UA Sports Festival."

"Hold up! That was YOU in the Sports Festival!? But you were a boy back then!"

Todoroki chuckled and shrugged. "It's a long story."

"Good afternoon, Asuka!" said another unfamiliar voice. "Oh, no one told me we'd be bringing this cute boy!"

Deku turned to see who'd come in this time: a woman with her blue hair in a bun.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't mean to cause trouble; I'm just here to support my girlfriend."

Todoroki waved at the woman. "Hi, I'm Shoko Todoroki! And you are…?"

"I'm Mie Serizawa."

"Pleased to meet you!"

Todoroki bowed before Serizawa.

"So, is that everybody?" asked Asuka.

Everyone looked around.

"All right, then! Welcome to the Musutafu Young Women's Book Club! I'm Asuka Kobayashi. Since we have a new member here tonight, I'd like to go over our three simple rules: 1. Respect everybody regardless of orientation, religion or anything like that, 2. If you make a commitment to show up to a meeting, either show up or let me know if you can't make it, and 3. Have fun! Now then, would you care to introduce yourself, Todoroki?"

Todoroki stood up. "Hi everyone! As some of you know, I'm Shoko Todoroki, youngest daughter of Endeavor. I'm a hero in training at UA High School, and I enjoy all kinds of books." She sat down.

"Now then, the book we will be talking about today is Payback's a Witch, by Lana Harper. Would anyone care to give their thoughts on this book first?"

Todoroki eagerly shot her hand in the air, as if reaching for the sky.

"Yes, Todoroki?"

"Personally, it was a bit hard for me to get into the book at first because even though I always preferred girl stuff, I never was big into women's literature. However, the more I read of it, the more I sank in. My personal favorite part of the book was the relationship between Emmy and Talia. That was hot. Of course, Emmy, Talia and Linden's pact against Gareth had me giggling, too."

"Shoko, I agree that Gareth was a bad person, but I think you're enjoying the 'revenge' bit a bit too much, ribbit," said Tsu. "Having said that, I think the author had an excellent grasp on worldbuilding.

"Oh, totally!" said Mizuno. "I loved seeing stuff like Instagram mixed with witch stuff like spells and all that! Having said that, I felt the relationship between Emmy and Talia kinda lacked chemistry."

"Oh? Why do you think that?" asked Uraraka.

"Well, the reasons for Emmy's leaving Thistle Grove and the setup between her and Talia seemed weak. I was thinking to myself: why didn't Emmy try to patch her relationship to the town?"

"While I do agree the relationship between Emmy and Talia could've been improved upon, I do think Emmy had valid reasons for doing what she did," said Asuka. "That being said, I liked how this book felt like a combination of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and John Tucker Must Die."

Serizawa dropped her jaw. "Huh, I never noticed that, but that makes so much sense!"

Deku smiled as the discussion continued and how Todoroki was getting into it. It meant a lot to him to be there for her, and he could tell she felt the same as well.
