Episode 9: Emotions Running Wild, Among other Things

ll

ll

ll

Shingo's worried look, reminded Usagi, that she didn't only have the World to take care of. She still had parents and a little brother to take care of.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Sure, what's up?

ll

ll

Usagi sat up, giving room for Shingo to sit down next to her.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Thanks... but we shouldn't talk here. I don't want them to be woken up.

ll

ll

Shingo nodded towards the direction of their parents room.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Um... okay. Where should we talk then.

ll

ll

(Shingo) I'm not sure... but anywhere that isn't here.

ll

ll

(Usagi) How about I take us near the beach? There's no one there at this hour and the nice scenery take the edge off of heavy topics.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Sounds good.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Alright, but I'm gonna need your help pushing my car out of the neighborhood.

ll

ll

The tension in the air just vanished, as if it were vacuumed out instantly.

ll

ll

(Shingo) What.

ll

ll

(Usagi) C'mon. You know how loud my car can get. And at this hour? No way. I'll push while you steer.

ll

ll

Shingo, silently remembering she was a Sailor Guardian, just accepted her offer.

ll

ll

After an hour of moving the car and driving to the beach without music, Usagi found her favorite spot to perch her car.

ll

ll

The two got out of the car and sat on the bench that faced the beach.

ll

ll

Shingo took in the beauty of the area. It was a way away from the city, meaning that there were hundreds, if not, thousands of stars shining above them.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Wow Usagi... this view... it's incredible.

ll

ll

(Usagi) I know, right? I like to come here whenever either I or someone close to me, has something they need help with or just want to pour out their emotions.

ll

ll

(Usagi) I remember I came here a while ago. All my friends were finding their successes and such, but me? I was just the same as ever. But things are getting better.

ll

ll

(Shingo) That's actually the reason I wanted to talk to you.

ll

ll

(Usagi) About my friends? What about them?

ll

ll

(Shingo) Usagi... I...I need you to prepare yourself for what I'm about to tell you, alright?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Um... okay... So, what is it? Did you fall in love with one of my friends?

ll

ll

Shingo blushed as he hid his face away from her. It made Usagi smile a little, reminding her of the little kid her brother used to be.

ll

ll

(Shingo) THAT'S NOT IT AT ALL!

ll

Shingo took a second to steady himself.

ll

(Shingo) Here I go then...

ll

ll

(Shingo) Usagi. I know that you were Sailor Moon.

ll

ll

Trying not to panic and possibly give herself away, Usagi hid her fear with laughter.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Oh silly, how could I be Sailor Moon-

ll

ll

(Shingo) Ami Mizuno was Sailor Mercury, Minako Aino was Sailor Venus, Rei Hino was Sailor Mars, Makoto Kino was Sailor Jupiter, Hotaru Tomoe was Sailor Saturn, Haruka Tenou was Sailor Uranus, Michiru Kaiou was Sailor Neptune and Setsuna Meiou was Sailor Fucking PLUTO!

ll

ll

As he named every Sailor Guardian, Usagi's already weak smile faded. She was horrified. How long had he known? How long had he worried about her and the others. She was frozen with shock and terror.

ll

ll

But Shingo was angry.

ll

ll

(Shingo) NOW do you believe me? Or do I have to add that Mamoru Chiba is Tuxedo Mask!?

ll

ll

(Usagi) H-H-How long...? How long have you known?

ll

ll

(Shingo) Well... after you and the others disbanded, I saw that Michiru, Setsuna, Hotaru and Haruka, all seemed to just, disappear. Thinking this was odd, I looked into it out of curiosity. I thought it was strange, a famous musician, a famous racer AND the former daughter of famed Scientist, Souichi Tomoe. After that, I dug deeper, after the Sailor Guardians disbanded, you and your friends also separated, going your separate ways to achieve success. Back then, you were alwasy going to the Shrine to study with Rei and the others. Sure after a while, your grades did improve, it seemed odd that you went there sporadically, one week you were there two days, then other weeks, you would be there everyday of a given week. But at the same time, you would be there when we all got attacked.

ll

ll

(Shingo) After that, I pieced everything together, and it made sense. You and your friends were the Sailor Guardians, protecting us, the town, the WORLD!

ll

ll

(Usagi) Is this why you wanted to come here? So Mom and Dad wouldn't hear us?

ll

ll

(Shingo) unfortunately, no.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Those same patterns, the sporadic visits, the defending, all of it... you're doing it ALL AGAIN! But this time, your going somewhere else to transform. Also, your reconnecting with your friends, and they are resonating with you!

ll

ll

ll

(Usagi) Shingo... where are you going with this?

ll

ll

(Shingo) You and I both know where I'm going with this.

ll

(Shingo) Usagi. Please... just be honest with me. What's going on? Are you putting yourself in danger again? Are you gonna be okay? Please, I don't want to be left wondering what you're doing, or if you'll come home tonight. Not after I just learned about all of the shit you've been through.

ll

ll

For a second, Usagi wondered... should she make her brother one of her confidants? Should she really trust that telling him everything, that he won't try to stop her every chance he gets? Or won't try to use it against her when he wants her to stop? She only had a few moments to think about it. Shingo seemed to be holding his breath, waiting for her to answer.

ll

ll

Then she figured. She didn't have to tell him everything, but she did have to tell him a partial truth. If she went with either extreme, telling him or not, he'd never be satisfied. If she told him everything, he would probably do anything and everything to get her to quit. If she didn't tell him, she had no idea what he would to get info out of her, or if he would recluse himself from her like when he was a little boy after their relationship had just become positive.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Okay, I'll tell you a part of what's going on. But I can't tell you everything, and I hope you can understand why.

ll

ll

(Shingo) But that's!- *Sigh* Okay... I understand.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Thanks. So a few weeks ago, I was called to the Moon by someone, a person who was from an advanced alien civilization. I went there, poking around, and found something. A suit of armor of sorts, former known to the civilization as a "Warframe". After that a couple of the others joined me, Haruka, Setsuna, Michiru and Hotaru.

ll

ll

(Usagi) When we found these Warframes, that being that drew me there, told us how to use them, then we started to fight a real threat from beyond the Solar System. An alien group, created to colonize the Tau Star System. They gained sentience and came back, twice, to take control over the entire Solar System and now... they're back and they adamant that they'll win this time, now that the ancient civilization is gone, along with their advanced technology, except for the Warframes.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Wow... that's pretty scary... can you really beat them?

ll

ll

(Usagi) So far, we've done better and better against them. The only time they've gotten past us, was when they attacked the Earth. But even then, they didn't stand a chance against us.

ll

ll

(Shingo) I see... if that's the case, then thank you Usagi. For trusting me enough to tell me this. I swear, I won't ever tell anyone about this stuff, not even Mom or Dad!

ll

ll

(Usagi) (But will you really?) Okay!

ll

ll

Usagi drove the two of them home and she finally went to bed. When she hit the pillow, she almost immediately passed out. She was surprised by how tired she was from just talking to Shingo.

ll

ll

ll

She fell into another dream, this time, it wasn't a memory.

ll

ll

She was thrown into a dream. She was inside her house. It was oddly dark outside, she couldn't see anything from where she was in the living room.

ll

ll

Her family was in their rooms doing what they would usually do during the evening.

ll

ll

But something told her that there was an imminent danger outside. All of the tiny hair on her back stood straight up as she ran around the house, turning off every light she could find.

ll

ll

Then, she went upstairs and turned off her families lights after debriefing them. They all went downstair, when suddenly, Excalibur tackled Usagi to the ground.

ll

ll

He had both of his hands around Usagi's neck, trying to crush her windpipe. She could hear the Warframe... breathing?

ll

ll

With her panic and inability to breath, Usagi tried to push Excalibur off of her. When that didn't work, she resorted to punching him on his helmet.

ll

ll

As she punched Excalibur, she could see from the corner of her eye that her family was watching with horror, unable to move or look away.

ll

ll

She punched the Warframe endlessly, until it jumped off of her, to which, she summoned Garuda and punched Excalibur again.

ll

ll

This time, she could hear a loud, inhuman howl coming from the Warframe. It was covering a portion of it's face, as if it was in pain.

ll

ll

She was about to motion for her family to run away when Excalibur removed its hand to charge her again.

ll

ll

She wouldn't be able to forget any of the detail of the image. The image of the partial human head. There was a thick muscle lining between the human's head and the Warframe's synthetic flesh, but Usagi was certain that she was parts of a human being within Excalibur.

ll

ll

She had punched it so hard, the part of it's helmet was severely damaged, exposing what was beneath it. She could see the edges of a human head, a blind eye and a decomposed nose.

ll

ll

Immediately afterwards, Excalibur healed the damage and charged at her, howling with rage. It had drawn it's Exalted Blade.

ll

ll

But as soon as it made contact with Garuda's sharp talons, the clanging of metal turned into an alarm clock going off.

ll

ll

She thought about the realism of the dream, but brushed it off as nothing new.

ll

ll

She woke herself up and got ready for work. She said bye to her parents going to work as well, and Shingo, already running off to school.

ll

ll

She drove to the Shop, where she was already met by the Amazon Quartet, happily waiting for her.

ll

ll

Since there was no customers to take care of when they opened, Usagi began working on her own car while the four of them talked and watched her in the garage.

ll

ll

After a few hours, the winter's cold bite was lessened as the Sun got closer and closer to it's peak in the late morning.

ll

ll

Usagi was deep in her car's engine, taking old parts out and putting new ones in.

ll

ll

ll

(Juno) Hey Usagi?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Yeah Juno?

ll

ll

(Juno) We were all kinda wondering, what made you want to work on this car in particular? I mean, aren't there much better cars nowadays?

ll

ll

(Pallas) Yeah, it's a little old and dirty. Why not get one that's newer?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Well you four... I'll tell it to you like this. This was my first car, and I intend to keep it that way. The engine is good, the mileage is great and it sounds wonderful. Also, have you ever SEEN the prices of cars these days? No thanks. They look great, but in my eyes, nothing compares to this thing... and besides, what are you to be calling it old, it's not even 15 years old yet.

ll

ll

(Ceres) SO you're gonna fix it up and make it like new!?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Over time, yes. Parts ain't cheap so I can't be doing it all at once. But I don't mind at all. This is what I like to do, so why not.

ll

ll

(?) Wow, you really have grown up over these two years.

ll

ll

Everyone shot their heads towards the source of the voice and there was Mamoru, leaning on the garage door, smiling at everyone.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Good morning everyone.

ll

ll

Usagi nearly dropped the tool in her hand. Mamoru, he was really home.

ll

ll

The Amazon Quartet just stared at him like he was an alien. They hadn't seen him since before the final battle with Sailor Galactica.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Wow, the Amazon Quartet! Lat time I saw you, you were only up to my hip!

ll

ll

(Ceres) Yeah, it's been a while Mamoru.

ll

ll

(Pallas) Where have you been Mamoru?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) I've been overseas, getting my degree my master's degree in medicine. I just wanted to come home for a little while, so, surprise!

ll

ll

ll

(Usagi) Wait, Mamo! How long will you be back!?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) I'm gonna be staying here for a couple weeks, for the duration of my winter break.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Really!?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Yes, really.

ll

ll

ll

Usagi was elated to hear from him, but at the same time, her phone began to ring.

ll

ll

She picked up without thinking and answered.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Hello?

ll

ll

(Setsuna) Hey Usagi, sorry to bother you, but it's your rotation this time around. A Sentient Orphix is heading towards Uranus' Moon, Titania.

ll

ll

(Usagi) (Of all times for it to be my turn!?) Alright, I'll be there in a minute. By the way, Mamoru just came to town, so say hello if you get the chance.

ll

ll

(Setsuna) Oh? If you have plans, I'm sure one of us can-

ll

ll

(Usagi) Oh no, it's fine. I'm gonna bring Rei with me.

ll

(Setsuna) Okay, better to train her now in a real combat scenario. And I'll say hello if I see him.

ll

ll

The call ended and Usagi quickly put parts into the 86. After she was done and it ran properly, she began backing it out of the garage while Mamoru was still there.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Watch the garage okay you four. Mamo, you need a ride to your hotel?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Oh, sure! Thanks.

ll

ll

Mamoru got in and Usagi threw the car into first gear, and sped away. After Mamoru told her where he was staying, she drove as fast as she could, sliding around corners, speeding and racing to her destination.

ll

ll

Mamoru kept his composure, but held on for dear life.

ll

ll

When Usagi dropped him off, she sped to pick up Rei and the two went to Setsuna's apartment.

ll

ll

They were surprisingly early, as they transferred into their Warframes.

ll

ll

After transferring, the Lotus presented Rei with her arsenal.

ll

ll

Before Rei was a beautifully ornate set of weapons.

ll

ll

(The Lotus) These weapons are now apart of your arsenal, Rei Hino. They are Baza, Akbolto and Glaive.

ll

ll

(The Lotus) The Baza, is a submachine gun that fires quickly and silently, but does trade these excellent qualities for damage. The Akbolto, are a set of twin pistols that fire bolts deep into your enemies, making up for your Baza. And as for your melee weapon, you are given an ancient weapon that has been mastered by Tenno from the very beginning, the Glaive, a weapon, that when thrown, can rip and tear through your enemies, but it will always come back to you.

ll

ll

Rei picked up the weapons. She slung the Baza on her back and the pistols at her sides. When she picked up the Glaive, it seemed to expand before her, the blades extending outwards in a circular motion. They retracted when Rei hid it under her wrist, where it seemed to stick to her magnetically.

ll

ll

ll

The two went to Titania, Uranus. Where they were to intercept a group of Sentient Orphixs.

ll

ll

Rei seemed nervous, but with Usagi to support her.

ll

ll

As the two descended upon the battlefield, so did the Orphixs.

ll

ll

The two charged into battle, Usagi with her Golden Talons and Rei sending out her flames, prepared to sweep up any survivors with the Glaive and one of her Akbolto pistols.

ll

ll

The two made quick work of the fleet, Usagi slowing down her assault to allow Rei some experience with battle.

ll

ll

She did better than Usagi expected. Rei stood her ground, sending out her flames and even summoning small meteors from the sub zero atmosphere. She would throw the Glaive with unbelievable strength, as it shredded through a few sentients, then came back to her as it flew across the sky. She also made use of her Baza, accurately hitting enemies in their most vulnerable positions.

ll

ll

By the time the two were finished with the sentient fleets, they battle ground was full of a light blue energy, emitted after a Sentient is killed and their particles vaporized.

ll

ll

After the battle, Rei could see Usagi tapping her foot. Impatience? After Rei had started back at the Hikawa Shrine, she saw that, in daily life and with the fighting, Usagi had become much calmer, more patient then when they were with the Sailor Guardians.

ll

ll

ll

After leaving the Moon, Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru watched as Usagi seemed to sprint through the apartment, swing the door open and closed, jump into her car and race out of her parking space, the sound of her tires screeching against the pavement loud, even through the apartment walls.

ll

ll

The three looked at Rei, expectantly.

ll

ll

(Haruka) Rei...? What happened?

ll

(Rei) How the hell should I know!? After the Lotus debriefed us after the mission, Usagi just said she had to be somewhere and sprinted through the portal!

ll

ll

(Michiru) Well, it seems you two forgot something that happened recently in Usagi's life.

ll

ll

(Hotaru) Yeah, went right over your heads I guess? She did tell everyone, didn't she?

ll

ll

(Haruka) Tell us what?

ll

ll

(Michiru) Mamoru's on break from school in the U.S. So he came to Japan, to visit Usagi.

ll

ll

(Rei) Oooooh. Yeah, now it all makes sense. She was super quick to pick me up and get here. I thought she was just really worried or something.

ll

ll

ll

Usagi raced through the streets of Tokyo, determined to make it to Mamoru and spend time with him.

ll

ll

She made it to his hotel and ran to his room, hoping her dropping him off at the hotel wouldn't put him off to spending an evening together.

ll

ll

Mamoru opened his door when she got to him. She stood in the doorway, her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath.

ll

ll

Seeing that she was still as silly and busy as ever, Mamoru couldn't help but smile.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) So, a little busy this morning?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Y.. Yeah, you could say that.

ll

Mamoru invited her into the room and gave her some water, to which she downed quickly, thanking him afterwards.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) So, how is everything? I've seen a few of the girls around recently. Minako's a music artist, Rei's the Official Shrine Maiden of the Hikawa Shrine... Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru seem to be taking a break from their castles... it's like I never left Tokyo.

ll

ll

(Usagi) I'm glad... it really hasn't been the same without you here. It just feels different.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) I know... and I'm sorry to be gone for-

ll

ll

(Usagi) Hey don't apologize! No, I would rather you did this for double the time than if you had stayed here, just for me. You're going out into the world, trying to make a difference, but not only that, you're going out into the world and learning about other cultures, seeing new things, meeting new people... some things you wouldn't be able to do if you had stayed here.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) That's... very kind of you Usako.

ll

ll

(Usagi) It's nothing, really. But let's switch the topic. What do you want to do on your first night here? We could go to a new restaurant... check out one of the many places that make Japan special... just tell me and I'll make preparations.

ll

ll

Mamoru looked outside and saw Usagi's car. It was an old 80's icon, but it had been modified to be faster, agile and even more stylish. He had an idea, but knew he would regret it.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Do you... race, that car down there?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Oh, yeah, and I do a little bit of drifting with it, but only during some events.(Lie) Why?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Well... is there any events today that we could attend together?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Well not today, sorr... WAIT!
ll

ll

(Mamoru) (Oh no.)

ll

ll

(Usagi) There is something we can go do, but it's gonna be late at night, and it's a little far from here...

ll

ll

(Mamoru) I don't see why not. (Alright, we're committed! We cannot back down now.)

ll

All the doubt in Mamoru's mind was erased when he mentally committed to the event that Usagi mentioned, as well as seeing her squeal with delight, promising that Mamoru would love it.

ll

ll

As the day went on. Mamoru found some nice clothes to wear to the event. After getting ready, he waited for Usagi to show up.

ll

She came wearing a nice pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket. Her car seemed to have been cleaned up in some way, the paint seeming clearer and shinier that he last saw it.

ll

ll

After he got in, Usagi warned him that the ride might be a little scary, and told him to buckle up.

ll

ll

He didn't feel nervous as he put his seatbelt on. But he started feeling something as Usagi revved the engine and drove away.

ll

On the freeway, as Usagi drove, a group of cars blasted past her and breakneck speeds. They swerved around traffic, threading the needle between trucks and cars, not slowing down. Mamoru was about to comment on them, saying something along the lines of "Jeez, don't they care about their own safety, what if they crashed!?".

ll

Before he could get the words out, he heard Usagi revving the engine again, and he could see a grin forming on her face as she shifted into a higher gear and sped up to chase the group.

ll

ll

She was going faster. She started at a cruise of 40 miles per hour, then, as she began racing to chase the group, her speed increased, 50, 65... all the way to 80, when she caught up to the group. She followed the last car, which sounded like one of those F1 cars (1992 Mazda RX-7). She followed the last car, swerving through traffic, dodging cars and moving wildly. Although Mamoru was terrified as he held on for dear life, he couldn't help that there was a sense of excitement rising within him. He felt excited, here he was, breaking multiple laws, and Usagi was in the drivers seat, wildly moving the wheel, accelerating and breaking heavily. He saw the happiness in her eye, that spark that was lit when she fought as a Sailor Guardian.

ll

ll

After a while Mamoru still held on, but found himself enjoying the ride with Usagi as she followed the group, each car modified and customized to be a one of one in the owners eyes.

ll

ll

But the wild ride came to an end as Usagi seemed to be heading for a parking lot, called the "Daikoku Parking Area" as indicated by one of the signs.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Oh, do you need to rest for a bit?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Actually Mamo... we're here.

ll

ll

As Usagi descended the loop, Mamoru could see something shining under the lamp post scattered throughout the parking lot, obscured by the concrete walls of the loop.

ll

ll

But as they made it to the bottom, Mamoru's mouth hung open as he looked out into the parking lot. There were cars and people everywhere. It was a sea mixing of shiny cars and people.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) What the... what is all of this...?

ll

ll

(Usagi) This is just a little hole in the wall. People bring some of the coolest cars in Tokyo here, just to show them off, talk and look at other people's cars. The people here are friendly, so don't worry. But this was my idea. We'll go for a walk, looking at some of the coolest cars in town, all gathered in one place.

ll

ll

Mamoru looked at the cars as Usagi looked for a spot to park. "So this is her world..." He thought, looking at the different cars, and how their owner imagined them to be.

ll

ll

ll

ll

Around them, the basic, all the way to legendary, cars with different designs, sounds and looks dazzled the lot. As Usagi looked for a place to park, a car, the symbol. In white, there was the letters "GT" and then beneath the two, was a giant red "R" at the bottom. The cars blonde and blue-eyed driver smiled at Usagi, revving his engine, the turbo spooling as the car drove by.

ll

(Mamoru) So... THIS is why you went on to own a shop after high school instead of doing something else?

ll

(Usagi) Yeah... during my junior year, I was walking on the bridge near my house, that overlooked the expressway. I was watching the cars, but as I watched, I saw an old, blue Nissan...240z racing at top speeds with an old Ferrari Testarossa, going waaay over the speed limit.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Just watching them go so fast... dodging traffic, going fast... it seemed so... freeing, to me. So after that, I researched cars, saw stuff in magazines... then one thing led to another and well... here we are. OH A PARKING!

ll

ll

Usagi found a parking in the middle of it all.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Get ready... (Mamoru noticed that she sounded a little annoyed.)

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Hm? What is it?

ll

Usagi started walking away from the car immediately.

ll

(Usagi) C'mon, hurry before all of the anime and car nerds get here!

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Wha...?

ll

ll

Usagi seemed to nod over to people who seemed to immediately take interest in the car and walked away from it.

ll

ll

Walking through the isles of cars parked in the lot, Mamoru couldn't help but get caught up in the details of many. Some were easily some of the more expensive cars that the two knew of in Japan. But there were also imports from other places. There were some cars that Mamoru had recognized as from the U.S.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Hey... Hey! I know what those are!

ll

ll

(Usagi) Wait what! You know what those are?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Yeah, I know people into old American classics. And those are called Chevys, Ford's and Dodge's! My friends told me that they're heavy, but powerful. The ones here are Chevy Impala's, Camaro's, Ford Mustang's along with Dodge Chargers and Challengers.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Wow... and they look pretty old. Must be from before the seventies, right?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Yeah, almost all of those are from the late sixties, early seventies! Can't believe their here in Japan though.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Are they common over there?

ll

ll

(Mamoru) No, they're super rare according to my friends. Apparently just seeing one is pretty uncommon, let alone so many in one place!

ll

ll

The couple walked through more cars, passing by the crowd surrounding her own. Usagi talked Mamoru's ear off on certain cars, and Mamoru Usagi's on the few he himself knew. They had a great night, ending it by getting some local street food that had parked itself in the lot, not even sticking out due to some of the crazier vehicles that had appeared.

ll

ll

But regardless of the time, place or event, the two shared a wholesome night together, talking and laughing together, something that the two hadn't had since Mamoru had first left, and since Usagi had went to the U.S. for a week.

ll

ll

Afterwards, the two had made small talk on the way to Mamoru's hotel. But as they spoke, there was an electricity in the air between them, something neither wanted to accidentally break or threaten their good time.

ll

ll

ll

After Usagi dropped him off, Mamoru walked to the elevator, then to his room, every step feeling like he was on cloud nine, every step feeling like the entire night was just a fever dream.

ll

ll

Usagi drove home, euphoric that the date had gone off without a hitch. She drove way beyond the speed limit, drift around corners and turns with ease as her mind replayed every moment of the date. As her driving was more and more reckless, but precise, Usagi, if you saw her on the street, held an eternal smile, as her eyes seemed to be stuck in a euphoric dream as she sped home.

ll

ll

She snapped out of her euphoric dream as she approached her street, stopping her recklessness and parking a street away, hoping to cool down her tires and get rid of the smell of burnt rubber.

ll

ll

After 30 minutes, she couldn't smell her tires anymore, and she drove into her driveway, and went inside. Upon entering the house, Usagi saw that her parents were asleep, as for her brother Shingo... he was a different story.

ll

ll

As she walked inside, she could see Shingo in the kitchen, dreary eyes on his face as he questioned her, annoyance on his face.

ll

ll

(Shingo) What the...? Holy Shit Usagi... ... do you even know what time it is?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Huh?

ll

Usagi looked at the clock. It read "2:04". It was 2:04 A.M. ... She left to pick up Mamoru at 11:00 P.M. ... She had been gone for over 3 HOURS.

ll

ll

(Usagi)Oooohh... I may have lost track of time...(HOLY SHIT THREE HOURS!?)

ll

ll

(Shingo) Seriously!? You drive like a psychopath, how do you get home so late from a date!?

ll

ll

(Usagi) What are you, our parents!? I went on a date and well... we didn't really look at the time...

ll

ll

(Shingo) *Deep Sigh* Usagi... there's a clock in your car... how did you NOT see what time it was?

ll

ll

(Usagi) Look, we didn't really look at what time it was when we were on our date, it wasn't important. When you get a girlfriend, you'll know what I mean.

ll

ll

(Shingo) As if...

ll

ll

(Usagi) Oh don't put yourself down yet, I'm sure there are plenty of girls your age that'll find you... acceptable.

ll

ll

(Shingo) *Chuckle* Screw you, I meant looking at a damn clock.

ll

ll

(Usagi) Sure you did. Good night Shingo, stop trying to act like a parent for once.

ll

ll

(Shingo) Good night...

ll

ll

The two went to bed... Shingo tired from waiting up for Usagi, and Usagi tired from her date, seeing all the walking she did.

ll

ll

ll

The rest of the week, Usagi went on more dates with Mamoru, showing him what had changed, going to the cafe to see Motoki and Unazuki, both of which who were like excited children to see Mamoru again.

ll

ll

During the second week, Mamoru visited his parents, seeing home again until he came back perminently after he graduated.

ll

ll

But during the middle of the second week, things took an unexpected turn.

ll

ll

During the day everything seemed normal, but during the afternoon, Mamoru was looking up at the Moon. It was a full Moon, hiding behind the thin blue veil of the sky it's white radiance. But as he looked, he could see something red beginning the eclipse the Moon, then it faded just as quickly.

ll

ll

Mamoru scrubbed his eyes. He looked again. The Moon was normal.

ll

ll

Mamoru sighed.

ll

(Mamoru) Hm... Must've got something weird in my eyes.

ll

ll

As Mamoru began to head back inside, where he would read for a little before going into Tokyo for a walk.

ll

ll

But as Mamoru got up to walk back to his room, he felt the ground beneath him shaking wildly.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) An earthquake!? Shit! Usako!

ll

ll

Mamoru was about to sprint through his hotel room when a harsh gust of wind blew him through the room and onto the floor, shattering the glass of his balcony windows. It felt and sounded like an explosion had gone off behind him.

ll

ll

As he got up to look outside, he now saw four massive pillar looking objects, now planted into the Tokyo harbor.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) What... the...?

ll

ll

But before Mamoru could fully ask himself what they were, the pillar like objects seemed to unlatch something, a flashing orb that released smaller entities, similar in color to the larger obejects, these beings began popping out of the pillar object, swarming the Rainbow Bridge and the surrounding roads. One of the smaller beings seemed to see Mamoru, going straight up and into his room as he back away from it.

ll

It looked at him with, Mamoru being unsure if it had optical ports or eyes...

ll

ll

Mamoru, thinking it might be a new threat, turned himself into Tuxedo Mask, throwing a sharp rose at the being. The rose tapped the being, and it hovered in his room, unfazed.

ll

ll

Mamoru then punched the being, to which it responded by hitting Mamoru with one of it's long, pole-like arms, sending Mamoru into the wall, hard.

ll

ll

Mamoru looked back up at the Sentient, wondering what it was. But before he could formulate a plan, a long, golden claw ripped through the being, deactivating it... or killing it... Mamoru didn't know. But then he saw her. Garuda. The terrifying being that had eluded him memory, now in front of him.

ll

ll

Garuda looked at him, then silently ran out, and jumped into the fray, firing a rifle that rang in Mamoru's ears.

ll

ll

Terrified, but excited, Mamoru went out onto his balcony to watch. Garuda went around, gracefully and efficiently dispatching groups of enemies. But as Mamoru looked out onto the scene, she wasn't the only one. There was four more of them. Three flew in the sky. One being covered in what looked like a musical score, another looked like a golden astronaut and the other, looked like a warrior, seeming to have a crown of fire. They fire from heavy weapons on wings of steel, striking devastating blows to enemies on the ground. The other two fought in the streets along with Garuda, one looked like a cowboy, twin pistols shooting everything in her sight, with deadly accuracy and speed, the other looked like a ghost, creating a silence around her before decimating her confused opponents.

ll

ll

As he was dazzled by their display of power, Mamoru wondered, "Where were the Sailor Guardians?". He had expected them to at least be at the scene, but in the back of his mind, he was thankful they weren't, because then that would mean Usagi would be in an extreme amount of danger, something he wouldn't ever want to happen to her.

ll

ll

He wanted to jump into the fray, so he jumped down near Garuda, throwing down one of his home made smoke bombs from his previous life. As he landed, he could feel Garuda pin him to the ground, a golden claw right above his eyes, ready to bathe themselves in his blood should she deem him a threat.

ll

ll

But she immediately released him. But as she did, he could've swore he heard a gasp of surprise.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Wait! Can you speak!? Who are you, what's going on? Who is the enemy?

ll

ll

Garuda looked at him with no emotions, her helmet hiding the operator within.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Please... say something at least...

ll

ll

Garuda looked at him and pointed him away from the fighting with her claw outstretched.

ll

ll

("Garuda") Not safe. Leave, Now.

ll

ll

Through the voice that came out, Mamoru sensed some familiarity.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) Just who are you? A friend or foe?

ll

ll

("Garuda") Friend.

ll

ll

(Mamoru) But just who are you!? I MUST know!

ll

ll

Garuda walked up to him, seeming annoyed with her heavy footsteps.

ll

ll

("Garuda") Leave. Now.

ll

ll

Feeling ashamed, Mamoru ran away, seeing if he could find people to get them away from the fighting. He felt like a coward, running from a fight he should've been apart of. But the more he thought about it, he remembered how none of his attacks even affected the strange beings. He would've been seriously hurt, or even killed should he have been reckless. But the way she spoke, it was a flat and robotic tone, but there was no missing the female voice behind it. He wanted to talk to her more, but he knew his current abilities, along with taking Garuda from the battlefield, he didn't want to feel anymore useless than he already did. So he continued his efforts to get people away from the fighting.

ll

ll

ll

But then a thought occurred to him that terrified him. If he couldn't even touch one of them, how would the Sailor Guardians even survive and ordeal with these things.

ll

After securing some civilians, he ran from the fight, running as fast as he could to Minato, hoping Usagi and the others hadn't gone to fight these... things... these... monsters come to life.
