I do not own Naruto or High School DxD.

In a small little compound outside the city of Kouh, near the seaside, an old man sat in an old wooden rocking chair smoking his pipe- as he thought back on his life, he was the Son of Sasuke Sarutobi, the former leader of the Sarutobi clan in japan. A race of monkey yokai not associated with their chinese counterparts.

He had lived through the Sengoku Jidai, and even worked briefly under Oda Nobunaga. Before the demon had gone and torched the Iga region- and later aligned with the Tokugawa shogunate however their policies had made the ninja all but obsolete.

For the past couple of centuries, Hiruzen had simply watched Japan evolve from a distance. Having only taken students once in the nineteenth century- and watching the disaster that became his one time student Orochimaru became one of the biggest villains in Japanese history.

However, his student Jiraiya had taken on a student of his own a few years prior to his death, a student Hiruzen himself had come to see like family.

A Cambion, a boy born of devil and human ancestry. It was better to say that Jiraiya found the boy abandoned and without a name. Jiraiya found the boy on the beach- and thus was given the name Minato Namikaze.

He was an excellently skilled and gifted fighter, who took to the ninja arts like fish on water. He would eventually meet his wife, a Japanese woman who also had mixed supernatural ancestry, by the name of Kushina Uzumaki. Who had a human mother and a fallen angel father.

And much like Minato, Kushina too was also abandoned. They eventually had a child of their own, and to Hiruzen Sarutobi, it was the most curious thing, out of the mixed blood of humanity, devils and fallen angels. A perfect hybrid child was born- if he could guess, the supernatural aspects somehow mixed with the mortal aspects to create something new.

Hiruzen could tell the boy, Naruto Uzumaki, had inherited something excellent from the gift his parents.

There was still some dilution of magical power within the child due to the mixture of typically incompatible energies, however, Hiruzen Sarutobi knew better than to overestimate the boy- and knew he would have to constantly enforce humility to make sure he didn't grow an arrogant head.

The monkey yokai exhaled the pipe smoke. That Naruto boy was now under his care, his parents had originally dropped the boy off so they could have a night to themselves for their anniversary. It wasn't a problem, Hiruzen considered his student's students to be family, he was always available for them.

But unfortunately, they never returned. He found later that night they had been killed under mysterious circumstances.

The old ninja in him understood well that the supernatural had likely struck, either devil's or fallen angels who wanted to tighten up the loose ends.

Naruto should theoretically be safe, he was only a human baby at first glance. Not much of a threat to anyone, but the old monkey knew exactly too well how much the biblical factions, particularly devils feared and coveted human potential. It was better for Naruto to grow up thinking he was human, and reject his ancestry beyond what it could do to help him survive. Rather than embrace a dangerous contradictory heritage.

Hiruzen inhaled from his pipe as he pondered on the problem, he was growing old, older than when he first taught jiraiya or helped Minato refine his techniques.

But- he was old and bored, old age and treachery never mixed well anyways. He could train one more ninja.

5 years later

Uzumaki Naruto was now eight years old, he was a cute boy for his age, with spiky blonde hair and blue eyes really giving him that western foreigner look. Along with three whisker marks like scars along each of his cheeks.

Hiruzen was happy to note that Naruto was generally a happy child. Not always the sharpest tool in the shed when it came to his school based education. But much like his father, the blonde boy had a natural knack for the ninja arts, and a frighteningly high combat IQ which impressed the old monkey, combined with a rather impressive base speed and reaction time.

Indeed, Hiruzen pondered as he watched his adoptive grandson practice his strikes against the wooden post.

Naruto was a natural born talent, and once he was taught how to access his magical abilities, Hiruzen knew he had gained an ideal apprentice.

The ability to create light based weapons, just like angels and fallen angels did. And the ability to control fire and wind, along with a more passive regeneration that gave the old monkey a clue or two as to who Naruto's devil ancestors were.

But it hardly mattered now. The boy was under his care, and he would see to it that the Uzumaki boy had a long happy life.

"Naruto," the old man called out, "Enough, it's dinner time. Go wash up and change into dinner."

"Okay grandpa," the boy said as he walked inside.

Meanwhile Hiruzen took some time to prepare a quick meal, just some rice with some leftover curry from the day prior, a couple of fried eggs and some juice.

The dinner itself went relatively normal, with the old man and the blonde boy discussing their day, how the boy did at school.

Then, Hiruzen noticed his grandson frowning and looking thoughtful, so the old man asked, "Is something on your mind?"

"Yeah," Naruto said, as he asked, "What happened to my parents, how did they die? Why do I have these powers? Why does it all have to be a secret?"

Hiruzen thought about it for one moment, but one moment was all it took as he let out a deep breath and began, "Naruto, I am not going to lie to you, even I am not entirely sure why your parents were killed. But I do have a fair idea. You see, it all ties into your powers, your father was a cambion, the son of a devil and a human. I have my suspicions, but it is likely your father's ancestors had your father and mother killed to tie up loose ends, because your mother was a nephilim, a daughter of a human and an angel."

"Wait, you mean- like… the bible is real?" Naruto asked with wide eyes, "my mom was part angel? and my father was part devil? What does that make me?"

"You are a human my boy," Hiruzen said reassuringly, "You are human, though your devil and angel ancestry haven't been diluted so much given that you are still capable of using light and demonic energy. But very human."

"So- if my mom and dad were part angel and devil, does that mean you are also from the bible?" The blonde haired boy asked, tilting his head to the side.

At that, the old monkey let out a full belly laugh, wiping a tear from his eye- he was eventually able to calm down and explain, "No my boy, I am a yokai, particularly A monkey yokai of the Sarutobi Clan."

Naruto hummed, before asking, "So how did you meet my parents? Did you teach them?"

"Your father, Minato, was a student of my student, Jiraiya," Hiruzen explained, "He and your mother would come by and visit this old man once Jiraiya passed away and kept me company. The night they were killed, they had dropped you off here for me to babysit, it is likely the only reason you are still alive."

"Who do you think killed them?" Naruto asked solemnly.

"My suspicion, young Naruto, is not an easy one. I believe it was your father's family who did so, devil's are afterall, known for their darker and evil nature. The fact that your father married the daughter of their enemy," Hiruzen stated, adding on, "Besides, they look down on those who are not pureblooded devils. I am afraid of young Naruto, even if you have relatives- you will not find Family amongst devils."

The blonde boy remains silent, understanding what Hiruzen hadn't said out loud, but implied with his words. Then he asked, "So, because I am human, they won't like me?"

"Don't worry about it Naruto," Hiruzen said as he set his chopsticks down, "I have been alive for a long time, I can tell you. Gods, Dragons, Angels, Devils, Yokai- the wars between them. It is all overrated!"

He paused for a moment, "My father, Sasuke Sarutobi, lived a long time ago- he told me once that it was all a lie. Just a continuation of the same old battles. The gods would goad us with promises of treasures, rewards for the worthy, a pathway to divinity if only we believed and followed their ways and fought for them. For millennia this same drama unfolded."

"Yeah, it sounds like it would suck to be immortal," Naruto replied, crunching his nose, "I think I wanna stay human, we don't matter don't we?"

The old man couldn't help but laugh, as he explained, "No, Naruto. That's not what I wanted to say. What I mean was, for millennia us supernatural species fought each other. We always dismissed humanity as worthless ants. The few with sacred gears may have been worthy, but the rest were dregs… or so i once believed,"

"Mortal Arrogation never stops," Hiruzen said with a distant voice, "but yet, i think that humans like you Naruto, you have humanity. A strange condition, you could fight each other to the death one moment, and be ready to sacrifice for each other the next."

The old man paused for one moment to take a drink, and finished his explanation, "Even the god of hosts was impressed with your species. So seemingly powerless one moment, and the next you are ready to defy the powers of this world with a power of your own."

"So," the blonde boy started deep in thought, "Being human is a good thing?"

"Yes," Hiruzen replied, "And I think you have the talent and potential to be one of the best there ever was. Maybe one day, you could even find justice for your parents."

Naruto thought about it for one moment, and then said something unexpected, "Grandpa, can you teach me more jutsu?"

Hiruzen laughed as he said, "Tomorrow my boy, tomorrow."

7 years later

Seven years had come and gone for the young Uzumaki Naruto, as he stood in front of the small cemetery. His parents were buried here, his grandfather and his two students were also buried here as well.

It was his first day of high school, and he wanted to pay his respect to his family. It was early morning, the sun hadn't even risen up yet over the horizon.

But he was already dressed. He was one of the first few males who would be attending as part of the program that made Kouh academy Co-Ed. It helped that it was supposed to be the best school in the town.

Despite the fact that Naruto himself had little interest in school. But his grandfather insisted on him not being a charlatan.

Naruto practiced his kuji kiri, moving through the nine hand signs methodically yet quickly and he conducted the meditation exercise.

He bowed in front of the grave and finally pulled his mask to cover up the lower part of his face.

He left the small graveyard and into his car, a blue Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec

Yes, He shouldn't be driving, he was only 15 years old. He also shouldn't be drinking either, but Naruto popped open his canteen's top and took a swig of the whiskey he hid inside.

He pressed the clutch and brake down and turned his car on, and shifted from neutral into first gear, carefully let go of the clutch and the brake and pressed the gas pedal and drove away from the little cemetery.

As he drove he reached for the radio, he pressed the play button and then the first track button and turned the volume knob a good bit.

An English voice came through the radio as he sang along, "Raise a cup up for all my day ones.

Two middle fingers for the haters! Life's only getting greater.

Straight up from nothing we go

Higher than the highest skyscraper.

No Little League, we major

The proof is in the paper

We put the good in the good in the good life

We put the good in the good in the good life

We put the bad in the past, now we alright,"

As Naruto continued to drive and sing he noticed the sun rise cresting over the horizon as he drove closer into the town proper, giving the sky a golden hue which was pleasant.

Of course, driving in Kouh itself was a little less pleasant as he found himself encountering city traffic. However, prior to making his way to school- he stopped at a convenience store to purchase some food.

"Ah Naruto-san, morning," the convenience store clerk said as Naruto walked in, "Ready for your first day of high school?"

"Ah Kazuha-san," Naruto greeted the clerk back, as he grabbed a breakfast sandwich and four cups of ramen, a chocolate milk and a soda, "Yeah you know, promised the old man I'd finish my education."

"That will be eighteen hundred and sixty five yen please," the clerk said as he totaled up the items, and placed them in a bag, "Don't eat all the ramen up all at once, Naruto-san!"

Naruto grabbed the bag and said, "Nah man, one cup to eat with the sandwich, two cups for lunch, and one cup for after school- I gotta go work after that ya know?"

"Right, right," The clerk said as he waved the blonde farewell.

Naruto waved back and got back into his car, and finally made his way towards the school. Now with it being an elementary through college campus, he'd figured he would be able to find some parking right?

How wrong he was, he did find a small teacher dedicated parking spot.

"Oh well," Naruto said as he pulled into an empty spot, "I'll just have to use some mind tricks on someone to save me this spot."

and he did just that, Naruto used some mind altering spells to secure himself the parking spot for the rest of the year after thirty minutes.

Truly magic was something amazing. He found himself a secluded spot on a tree branch after heating up his ramen, and just as he had promised the clerk, he had his breakfast sandwich with a nice cup of beef flavored ramen.

He looked at the schedule he had nabbed when he had gone to mess with minds up for his parking spots. He looked at his home room number and decided to head there once he had finished his breakfast and disposed of it in one of the trash bins near the entrance.

As he was walking towards his homeroom however, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and he walked by someone, someone who definitely had supernatural origins.

With discretion, Naruto looked back and saw a red haired girl with blue-green eyes, definitely a foreigner talking to a bespectacled girl with short black hair and pink eyes.

Thankfully, he naturally suppressed any supernatural aura he gave off. It was better to say that he suppressed and rejected anything that would make it look like he was anything but human.

Afterall, Naruto Uzumaki did not trust the supernatural. It was a healthy fear and respect instilled in him by his grandfather. As it was likely devils killed his parents, and if not the devil's then definitely the fallen angels did.

He walked away from the duo making sure not to be seen or detected by either. But he now knew he needed to make sure to be extra careful with two devils- while Kouh had a fair few supernatural residents, as far as Naruto was concerned the devil's shouldn't have set up shop here, it was technically territory that belonged to the Sarutobi Clan and strictly marked ninja territory, and while Hiruzen had passed and Asume Sarutobi was nowhere to be seen, Naruto remained there.

And he was a ninja afterall.

Eventually Naruto made it to the outskirts of his homeroom, and as he stood by the door- he noticed another foreigner. A blonde with blue eyes just like him.

Another devil.

"Is this Devil Academy central or something?" Naruto muttered as he put his hand into one of the pockets in his bag, the particular pocket carried his side arm.

A good ole Desert Eagle chambered in 50 AE.

Why would a ninja- one who was underaged at that bring a gun to school?

As his grandfather used to say, "A good Ninja carries a gun with him at all times. If you have to resort to your ninja-to, you are either on a stealth mission, or shit done hit the fan and splattered everywhere. We're mercenaries and assassins not sword saints"

Of course being the americanophile he was, there was a lot that could be said about a pretty blonde boy bringing guns onto school grounds. But nobody needed to know that.

Besides, he used it to deal with some of the peskier creatures that ended up around kouh and he didn't feel like getting up close and personal with a stray devil.

However, in that same pocket in his bag was also a pack of gum. And that was exactly what he was reaching out for as he placed the chewy and minty treat into his mouth and walked into class.

And of course, as soon as he sat down, stupid fangirls had to crowd around him. Asking him all sorts of annoying questions.

With a devious smirk, he said, "Why don't you go talk to that guy, he seems lonely?"

While pointing at the blonde devil in his class.

As the girls started crowding around the other blonde, Naruto too that chance to send a look of disdain his way- then set his head down at closed his eyes.

He assumed they would have a division wide school meeting before they got too deep into the day- and he would have a chance to learn more about the supernatural people within this school without being noticed.

Of course, they eventually did have a seminar, and he was able to count at the very least a total of 7 devils. Fortunately, he only had to suffer sharing a homeroom class with one. His class was large enough that there was no other overlap.

Naruto was glad to hear the bell ring, he didn't even bother listening to the teacher yap about some last minute homework as he stuffed his books into his book bag and walked out of the classroom.

He didn't want to give the impression that he was invested in his education, that would be too troublesome for him. He still had a reputation as lazy and unbothered to upkeep from middle school.

Not deadlast of course, he kept himself a couple points from the bottom scorers. Which of course as he was leaving the academy, happened to bump into.

"If it isn't Uzumaki-san!" A familiar voice called out.

Naruto turned around to see three unwanted faces as he narrowed his eyes, "How did you three jackasses end up here? Doesn't the administration know what menances yall are to females everywhere?"

"Nuh uh, Naruto-san. We passed the entrance exams all the same," the pervert with the glasses said as he wiggled a finger in front of the blonde's face.

Which of course Naruto was quick to snatch and twist away from his face, as he exclaimed, "Keep your filthy fingers away from me."

"Owawawa! Let go! My finger! My finger," Motohama cried out.

Of course Issei Hyudo had to step in to try and save his friend, "Come on man, it ain't that serious. Argh! Let go! Let go!"

Unfortunately for him, who had tried to grab Naruto's hand, found himself on the floor as Naruto twisted his wrist.

"What's going on here?" A soft but stern voice called.

Naruto let go of the two perverts, matsuda having long since ran away. Then the blonde turned around, and saw one of the devil's running around in the school in front of him, it was a beautiful girl- if he could guess she was in the second year. She had long white hair and blue-green eyes, and she wore the Kouh Academy's uniform.

"Oh my, look at those oppai!" Issei said as he got up quickly and tried pushing past Naruto to get a closer look at the white haired devil's breast.

Of course, Naruto was already tired of dealing with the perverts from the year prior swiftly knee'd Issei in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him as Naruto said, "Nothing, Miss, just a little bit of horseplay between old friends. Ain't that right Issei? Motohama?"

"Yes!" The two boys replied, too terrified to say anything else.

The gentle voiced devil gave the blonde boy a look that said she wasn't buying it, but after a moment, she relented and said, "Fine, just don't do it again or I will have to get Kaichou involved."

Naruto acted sheepishly as he said, "I'll make sure it won't happen again, miss. Boys, have fun, I gotta go."

Later that night

Naruto sat on the tallest roof in Kuoh town, unfortunately that also happened to be the school he went to.

Over him he had a blanket, the same color as the roof covering him as he used a pair of binoculars to observe a black sedan type of vehicle as it made its way across the small city.

As the vehicle came to an intersection Naruto knew would take forever to change from red to blue and set his binoculars as he moved slightly to the right where his Anzio 20mm anti material rifle was positioned overlooking the same intersection.

He attacked the 3 round box magazine in the undersized and racked a round.

He flipped the optic cover up and lined up the range finding reticle with where he could guesstimate where the engine of the vehicle was, and did some quick calculations in his notebook, using a wind measuring device and adjusted his sights accordingly- then he flipped the weapon off safety, and then depressed the trigger until-

Click

Bang!

The follow-on concussive force kicked up a lot of dust and debris, providing Naruto the perfect cover to escape from.

Quickly gathering his blanket, wind device and binoculars Naruto stuffed them into the backpack as another explosion rang in the distance as his target's vehicle exploded in a massive fireball. Courtesy of a high explosive incendiary round of course.

He then strapped the giant oversized rifle into his back and then put his backpack on. Then he quickly used the quick access staircase to get down from the school building to where his car was waiting nearby.

He then tossed the hundred inch rifle into the passenger side of his Skyline. Which had the front and back passenger seats down so it could fit comfortably, and then drove away.

As he drove away, he made a call to his client.

"Hello?" The voice on the other side of the call answered tentatively.

"Seven million, five hundred thousand yen." Naruto' replied, "Itama Sadako is dead."

There was silence for a brief movement- as the blonde ninja waited for a response he depressed the clutch and shifted from 2nd to third and sped away into the highway.

"Good, very good," the voice replied on the other side of the line, "I'm seeing it now, engine explosion. No one suspects anything- transferring the money to your account now."

"Pleasure doing business with you," Naruto said as he checked his bank account balance, once he was satisfied with the payment. He hung up the call, and said to himself, "Today was a good day."
