Chapter 8. A bit of an odd but also story meaning chapter. Sorry for the terrible posting schedule. Trying to take it a bit slower now as I get burnout way too fast. Tbh I don't really have a set plan anymore. Just gonna let it happen naturally, ya know. Vilgax is still a threat but he will come later. The team is still preparing for his arrival, with Ben still learning magic from Gwen and Hope. Gonna try and make this a much longer chapter too. Hope you all enjoy!!

Chapter 8: Family Values

Tennyson Household

It was the middle of November. The air was turning crisp and very cold.

Ben was at the kitchen table, writing down some brief notes and drinking his coffee. He and his girls had recently came up with a brilliant idea: dates.

All week he would spend a day with each of the girls for a very special day. He looked at the list as it shows who is doing what each day.

Everyone was out today doing their own thing. Julie took Evie to meet her family so she would be busy.

"Hmmm…let's see…" He said to himself. Unfortunately, he was interrupted by his phone ringing.

He answered. "Hello?"

It was Max. "Hey, Ben. You best get here soon. Warlord Gar is here for you."

Ben looked up. It had to be about Looma. "I'll be there." He hung up, grabbed his coat and locked the door behind him.

Plumber Base

Ben arrived through the teleporter, where Rook was waiting for the hero. "Ben, I am glad you could make it."

Ben nodded. "Glad to be here. Where's Max and Gar?" He asked.

Rook pointed to the meeting room. "In there. I will take you there."

The two made their way to the room and Rook opened the door.

"Gar, you know I have your back no matter what, but that request is out of the question!!" Max said as he sat at the table with a large Tetramand that was missing his lower left arm and lower left eye. He wore a fur cloak and had a horned helmet that was missing a horn. Warlord Gar.

Gar sighed. "Maxwell, I know you have apprehensions about the tournament, but it's the only option. None of my warriors are in the condition to fight the other champions."

Max sighed, but then noticed Ben standing there. "Ben, I'm glad you could make it."

Ben nodded. "What's the issue?"

Gar started to explain. "House Red Wind is about to be overthrown by four different clans. Clan Berthrout, Clan Ivory, Clan Razor and lastly…Clan Mōrder. They've all challenged me for the throne and...for Looma."

"So why can't she be your champion?" Ben asked.

"Because she already has the throne. I need an heir that will earn it. Someone like you. Tennyson, you are with my daughter...I see how over the moon she is for you. This is your opportunity to solidify your relationship. When you win, you will be next in line to rule." Gar touched Ben's shoulder. "All of it is up to you…"

Max looked at Ben. He knew Ben could do it, but didn't want to force it.

Ben thought carefully, before nodding. "I'll do it...I'll be your champion." He smiled.

Gar cheered. "Wonderful!! I will update you when the meeting is. There, me and the other clan leaders will decide when the tournament is. Be ready, son. It's going to be tough. You, my boy, will be cemented in galactic history!!"

And with that, Gar bid his farewell and left.

Ben took a deep breath. "Grandpa…did I really just agree to do that?"

"Yes, you did. But you should be fine. Your training in combat and magic is going well and you're one of the best fighters in the universe. You can do it, son." Max told him.

Ben smiled. "Thanks, grandpa…"

The alarm went off.

Rook came up to them. "Ben, there is a situation on Earth. Animo is attacking."

Ben nodded. "Then let's go handle it."

Meanwhile on Earth

Julie was with Evie. They had just left her family's house and were in town. As the weather started to get colder, they needed new clothes.

Evie wasn't as affected as her alien DNA loved the cold. But Julie still wanted to get her some warmer clothes for her human side. So they spent the rest of the day shopping.

But just as they were on their way home, there was an attack.

Animo was on his rampage with a mutant gorilla. He had just robbed a reserve, with the gorilla carrying the pallet of gold bars.

"Not this guy..." Julie groaned.

"Who's that, momma Julie?" The little girl asked.

"It's one of daddy's enemies, Dr. Animo. He makes these weird animals." She grimaced as she had memories.

Speaking of Ben, he arrived at that moment with Rook. The two sprung into action.

Rook was blasting the gorilla with his blaster, making the beast rage and drop the gold.

"Noooo, you bulbous ape!!!" Animo shouted. "You dropped the gold!!"

Ben had transformed into FourArms and he began to fight the mutated gorilla.

But it was strong and Ben went flying across the street, hitting a car.

"Ben!!" Rook yelled. He tried to run over to Ben, but was knocked unconscious by a hit from the gorilla.

The hero got back up. "Gotta change the playing field…"

He turned into Spidermonkey then slammed the dial on his chest, turning ultimate.

Ult. Spidermonkey looked different than his previous look. Instead of looking like a gorilla on stilts, he looked like a Mandril mixed with a tarantula. (Think InkTank Ult. Spidermonkey.)

The two apes clashed and Animo fell off. Ben and the mutant bashed and clashed each other. Thanks to his mutiple arms, he was able to overpower the gorilla and tied it up with web.

Ben made monkey noises and turned human. "I'm too old for this."

"Oh, Tennyson~" Animo said.

Ben looked over and Animo had Evie in a grasp and pointed a blaster at Julie. "One step and I will kill the brat and your whore."

Ben stood there. "You touch them…and I will rip your head off."

Animo laughed. "You don't have the- OWWWW!!!"

Evie had chomped down upon Animo's hand

The scientist growled and tossed Evie. She hit the ground and started crying. Julie ran over to her when Animo got hurt.

He growled and pointed the blaster at the girls. " I will kill the both of you!!"

But before he could pull the trigger, Ben grabbed Animo by the arm. He looked at the hero and saw nothing, but pure hatred in his eyes. They had turned red and he had a red glow around his body.

Animo felt fear for the first time in years. This wasn't Ben but something else...something of pure malice and anger. And he would feel the wrath.

Ben threw Animo across the street into a wall. He walked over and began to slam Animo's head into the ground over and over. He then grabbed his head and began to pull, making Animo scream in pain.

Julie covered Evie's eyes as Ben ripped Animo's head off. It was gruesome and quite messy.

Animo's body dropped as Ben held his severed head. Luckily for Animo, he had installed a device that would keep him alive.

"Look at what you did!!! You removed my head!!" Animo said in despair.

Ben calmed down. "You're lucky I don't use your head like a football." He sneered.

When the Plumbers got there to clean up, Max walked over to Ben who was taking care of his family. "Are you three okay?" Max asked.

They nodded. Evie held onto Ben tightly, almost shaking. She was still traumatized from the incident.

"Think we're gonna take her home…she's had enough for the day..." Ben said.

Julie nodded. "The others will wanna hear about this. And we have to try and keep them from trying to kill Animo themselves."

Ben replied. "You got that right.

"We'll keep you updated on what happens. But you go home and get some rest. You earned it." Max told him before walking away.

The trio went home and got Evie comfortable. She still held onto Ben, but eventually fell asleep.

The two tucked her in her bed and Ship cuddled with her.

Ben and Julie left her to rest and sat on the couch. Once all the girls got home, Ben told them what happened that day.

They just about flipped their lids and checked Ben over.

Ester and Helen checked Ben over for injuries.

Attea and Looma were pissed.

"Who was the unlucky bastard who hurt our man and our little girl?" Attea scowled.

Looma cracked her knuckles. "I'll rip his spine out." She growled.

Julie raised her hand. "Don't bother. Ben already ripped the guy's head off."

"But he's still alive." Ben added.

The girls sighed.

"We can't leave you alone for one day, can we?" Helen stroked his hair.

Ester cuddled close. "Guess we gotta…teach him to behave~"

Ben gulped. He would definitely not be walking tomorrow.

The girls dragged him to the bedroom, which was soundproof and the bed was extremely durable. It had to be or else they'd have to replace the frame every weekend from their…"adventures".

And what a night it was. All night and the lovers were all tuckered out.

Over the next few days, things settled down. The family was preparing for Thanksgiving dinner.

Ben was hosting it at his home as it was big enough for everyone.

The entire known family came. Ben's parents, Gwen's parents, Max, Verdona, Kevin, Gwen, Rook, Rayona, Manny and his girlfriend Swift, Alan, Cooper, Lucy, Vera, who is Max's sister, Sunny, and a few others.

Ben was thrown out of the kitchen as the women were preparing the dinner. It took a lot of effort but he was chased out by Gwen, who had a carving knife and was ready to give Ben another face scar.

Ben came into the living room where the guys were watching football. Kevin was on the edge of his seat. "I got money on this game. They better not drop the ball."

Carl chuckled. "I think the Mustangs will win. They had a damn good season." He drank his root beer.

"I don't know. The Wasps have a very talented draft pick this year." Frank interjected

Ben drank his soda. "Why don't we have a bet? Loser has to do the dishes."

"I'm down." Max replied.

"Ya, let me get a piece of that." Manny said.

"Me too." Alan replied.

"I do not know what is happening but count me in." Rook smiled.

Gwen and Helen watched from the kitchen entrance.

"Men." They said as they rolled their eyes.

Evie was helping Sandra make a side: the mashed potatoes. It was a staple.

The little girl felt so proud of herself as she had a talent for cooking.

Sandra smiled. "Good job, sweetie!!! You barely needed my help."

Evie giggled. "Thank you, grandma. You taught me how." She said as she was COVERED in flour.

Attea chucked. "And you're a mess." She held Evie's hand. "Let's get cleaned up for dinner." She took Evie upstairs to get cleaned up and a fresh pair of clothes.

Soon it was time for dinner.

Ben was carving the turkey and said. "Before we stuff our faces, let's go around the table and give thanks."

The family nodded and everyone gave what they were thankful for.

Once that was done, it was time to eat. They all had a good amount to eat and there was a lot to eat.

Sandra smiled. "Thank you for having us over, sweetie. You've been an amazing host."

"Well, I couldn't do it without these lovely ladies in my life." Ben chuckled as he looked at his girls. The ones who made his world continue to exist.

Looma replied. "Well, beloved…you also give us meaning as well. Without you, I'd still be a lonely princess."

"I'd be an evil warlord..." Attea said.

"I'd be a scorned tennis player." Julie added.

"I wouldn't have found peace and solace.." Helen answered.

Shar said. "I would be stuck on Revonnah."

Ester spoke. "And I would be a criminal."

It was then that Ben realized the difference he had made in these women's lives. He changed them for the better.

He raised his glass. "Here's to many more happy holidays."

Everyone raised their glasses.

After dinner, everyone helped clean up and put the food up. They said their goodbyes and out the door.

The girls were tired and full, lying in the living room.

Attea groaned. "Soooo full…but soooo good." She laid down on the floor.

Shar simply whimpered.

"Shouldn't have eaten that much ham…" Helen cried.

Julie curled on the couch. "Gotta go on a diet…but not today…" She moaned softly rubbing her bloated food baby.

Looma was fast asleep on the floor, with Evie curled up to her.

Ester said. "I'm not eating for the rest of my life…"

Ben sat on the couch. "Definitely worth it though." He relaxed.

"Definitely." They all agreed.

And with Thanksgiving over, they had to start planning the next holiday. And it was a big one: Christmas.

Not to mention the other events they had.

But that could wait.

For now, Ben had other things to do.

One being training with Hope.

He was learning so much. Conjuring, levitation, spell casting, everything that Gwen learned, he did. She'd probably be jealous because it took her so long to learn, whereas it took him a few months.

Hope smiled. "Ben, you're a natural at this!! At the start, you were a little rough around the edges. But now, you got the hang of it."

Ben chuckled. "Most people don't believe I'm paying attention sometimes. But I have a really good memory." He explained as he was doing a teleportation spell.

"Remember: concentrate and don't lose focus. It could be disastrous." Hope explained.

Ben nodded and opened a portal successfully.

"You've done it." Hope said as she patted his shoulder. "No backfires." She smiled.

Ben then said. "Let's go through it."

Hope nodded and the two walked through. It took them to Mr. Smoothies.

"Want a smoothie? I'll pay for it." Ben offered.

Hope nodded. "I would love one."

The two got their smoothies and sat at a table. They talked about the progress he was making and it evolved into their interests. They became really close these past few months and it was nice.

From enemies to friends. Who would have seen it coming?"

Ben nodded. "Hope, I want to thank you for what you've done for me. Let me take you to dinner."

"Dinner?" Hope tilted her head. "Won't your lovers be mad?"

"It's not going to be anything extra. Just a simple thank-you." Ben promised.

Hope nodded and replied. "Alright. I accept. Friday?" She suggested.

Ben smiled. "Count on it."

They got up and threw their trash away before teleporting away.

Life was good.
