Charlie and Vaggie were getting ready for bed after another day of work at the Happy Hazbins Resort.
"Today was such a great day!" Charlie beamed as she put on her pajama shirt. "Only one of our human clients ran off after seeing Courtney without glamor!"
"Mm." Vaggie sat on the side of the bed, staring at the wall, seemingly deep in thought.
The blonde demon turned to look at her. "Are you okay?"
"Hm? Of course! Why wouldn't I be?"
Charlie sat down next to her. "I just noticed that you seem a little distracted by something."
Vaggie gave her girlfriend a reassuring smile. "Charlie. Honey. I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
The angel squeezed Charlie's shoulder. "Charlie, I promise nothing is wrong. I'm okay. Really."
Charlie wasn't very convinced. She said her girlfriend's name sternly, yet gently, "Vaggie."
The gray-skinned woman's smile faltered, and she let out a sigh as she took her hand back and cast her eyes to the floor. "It's just that you've been working really hard on this whole 'resort' thing, and I know how determined you are to make it work… and you've been getting so much help from Fingers, and Courtney, and Stolas and the imps… I just feel like you don't really need me around as much anymore."
"Ohh, Vaggie." Charlie placed a soft hand on the angel woman's cheek and gently pulled her face towards her own. "Just because I've been needing less of your help lately, that doesn't mean I don't still appreciate having you around. We're still a team." She squeezed her shoulder. "You're still my partner. And I promise I wouldn't ever, ever replace you."
Vaggie smiled and reached up to put her hand on Charlie's. "That's good to know." And she leaned in for a soft kiss on the lips.
Charlie got into her side of the bed. "Now let's get some rest, okay?"
Vaggie yawned as she got under the covers on her side. "Goodnight, Charlie. I love you."
"I love you too, my angel. Sweet dreams."
