Chapter 1. Medical Attention and Visitors
Lurmen Village, Planet Maridun
On the planet Maridun, a village of Lurmen were living their lives in peace. The young played while their parents worked. Their leader, Tee Watt Kaa, was hobbling about amongst his kin.
The Lurmen colonised the planet to escape the violence and bloodshed of the Clone War between the Republic and the Separatists. While it wasn't easy at first, the Lurmen were able to adapt to living on Maridun. Their number one was no killing.
But little did they know they were going to receive a visit from an unlikely guest.
Far from the village near a tree with giant pods, a strange portal opened up and out of it came a male human youth. He looked to be 15 years old, tanned skin, short dark red hair that reached his shoulder blades, teal eyes, and a muscular physique. He had on a blue gi that was tattered and torn with the right top part being destroyed and showing his muscular chest, his fingerless gloves were damaged, his left pants leg was gone, and his shoes were beyond use.
Next to him was a big brown bag, a small and portable rectangular container, and a red rod. This is Rayne. A member of the Time Patrol.
Rayne was groaning in pain as it hurt too much to move. Let alone speak. Even trying to open his eyes felt like a challenge.
The reason for why he was in this terrible state was because of his battle with the Demon God Demigra. Their fight was intense and caused some damage to the Time Chasm. As well as themselves.
Demigra felt both angered and insulted that Rayne, a mere human who wasn't even a man, caused him such damage. So he charged up his attack to annihilate him.
Rayne sent a kamehameha at him but, his body was injured. As he was being pushed back, the spirit of his mentor's Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin appeared and shared their energy with him. Giving him a boost in power. He was able to overpower Demigra and send him into oblivion.
Thankfully his blast didn't harm Toki Toki. Before the Time Bird could take them back to the Time Nest, a portal opened up behind the young Time Patroler and began to suck him in.
With his strength being too low thanks to his fight with Demigra, Rayne was unable to get away. This he was sucked into the vortex.
He didn't know how long he was inside that tunnel but, his injured body did not take kindly to it. Before blacking out, he saw something rolling his way and unfurled into some bipedaled lemur.
A Few Hours Later
Rayne slowly opened his eyes after feeling some of his strength returning. When he did he saw that his torso was wrapped in bandages and something wet was wiped on his arms.
Next he saw the strange lemur like being from before. And he looked to be cleaning his hands in some water.
The little lemur's attention was brought back to him when the young warrior let out a groan.
Going over to him, he said "Easy there. You're hurt bad. It's a miracle you're even still alive. So just rest for a bit."
Seeing a familiar brown bag tied to his waist, Rayne let out mutter to which the lemur leaned in to get a better understanding.
"What? I can't hear you." the lemur said.
"Se-nzu.. bean." Rayne barely managed to say.
The little lemur was confused while repeating "Senzu bean? What's that?"
Since he was unable to lift his arms, Rayne gestured to the brown bag. Following his line of sight, the little lemur saw what je was talking about.
Removing the bag from his waist, he opened it and pulled out a senzu bean. Looking back at Rayne, he asked "Is this what you're talking about?"
Barely managing a nod, the Time Patroler opened his mouth. Wanting to eat the medicinal vegetable.
For whatever reason unknown to him, the little lemur brought the bean to Rayne's lips and put it into his mouth. Who was barely able to chew it before swallowing it.
A few seconds later, Kai felt his injuries getting better and his energy going back to normal. He then got back to his feet much to the little lemur's surprise.
Giving a sigh, Rayne say while stretching "Ah, I needed that."
"Wha-?! How-?! But you-!" the little lemur tried to say in absolute astonishment.
Turning to the little lemur, he said with a smile and a grateful tone "Thanks for that, little guy. I owe you one."
Before anything else could be said, an elderly lemur hobbled into the tent. Upon seeing the human up and on his feet, his eyes widened as he turned to the young lemur and said "Wag Too, I thought you said he would be unconscious for three weeks."
The one called Wag Too said "I did, father! But he somehow got better when I gave him that senzu bean of his!"
"Senzu bean?" Wag Too's father asked wanting his son to elaborate.
"He's referring to the beans inside my bag, sir." Rayne said while pointing at the brown bag in his son's hand.
Which he willingly returned while still having a shocked face. The elder then said with a firm face "Well, then perhaps you can repay us by telling us how you ended up in such a condition and from where you hail from."
"I will, sir. But I think an introduction is in order first. My name is Rayne and it's a pleasure to meet you." the warrior said with a respectful tone.
Giving a simple hum at seeing the human youth showing manners, the elder said "My name is Tee Watt Kaa. And as you already know, this is my son Wag Too. Who is also our village's healer. He and his friends found you a few miles from our village. Then he brought you here to be nursed back to health."
Turning to Wag Too he gave the little healer a grateful smile and a bow while saying "Thank you, Wag Too. I owe you and your friends my life."
Giving the human a smile of his own, he said "I'm glad I could help. I couldn't leave you out there."
Rayne then turned to Tee Watt Faa and said "Elder, I am grateful to your kin for bringing me to your home. But would you please tell me where am I?"
"You are on the planet Maridun. A remote planet on the Outer Rim." Tee Watt Faa answered.
"Outer Rim?" Rayne asked iin confusion.
Both father and son looked at each other before looking back at their guest with Wag Too asking "Don't you know what the Outer Rim is?"
"Can't say that I do. Nor do I know anything of this world. Is this place your home world?" Rayne asked.
"No, this is a colony. We came to this system to escape the Clone War." Tee Watt Kaa said with a grimace at the word.
"War? What war?" Rayne asked making both turn to him surprise.
"Did you hurt your head to the point it caused you amnesia?" Wag Too asked as the war was well known to the entire galaxy.
"Wag Too, if I knew about any war do you think I'd ask about it?" Rayne pointed out. He then asked "And forgive me but could you please tell me what manner of species you are?"
Tee Watt Kaa answered "We are called Lurmen. Now care to tell us where it is you hail from?"
"I come from a planet called Earth." Rayne said.
"I am afraid that planet is unknown to us." Tee Watt Kaa said which was no surprise to Rayne.
"That's ok. I'd be surprised if you did know about it." Rayne said. He also had a feeling that he was in another universe completely different from his own. He was told of the Tournament of Power. Warriors from the twelve universes took part in it. Including the Z-fighters and Frieza.
"And it would seem you are also stranded here. If you wish to stay in our village all I ask is that you keep any form of violence out of it." Tee Watt Kaa says firmly.
"I understand." Rayne said in a respectful tone.
Six days have passed since Rayne was stranded on Maridum. He was grateful to the Lurmen for saving his life and choosing to nurse him back to health.
The young human wasn't idle. He helped wear ever he could. By carrying heavy baskets of fruit around and helping in cultivating the field.
What shocked them the most was him bringing giant pods to their village to act as homes for their people. Many of the children hung around him and asked him how did he get so strong.
He simply told them that it was his training that helped him get stronger. He also told them stories of his many adventures.
Wag Too was more curious about his senzu beans. Rayne told him that a friend of his named Korin was the one who grew them on his planet. And it takes a long time to grow even one bean.
He also said that Korin was the only who could grow them. Much to Wag Too's disappointment since he couldn't grow the senzu beans. Surprisingly, Rayne let him have the bag as he had three more bags.
Thanks to the Supreme Kai of Time, the senzu beans grow more faster in her domain. Now twenty senzu beans can be grown at least once a week. It took three weeks for him to get one bag filled with at least sixty. So in total he had a hundred and twenty senzu beans left that were sealed away in capsules.
He also amazed them with the capsule's he had on his person. One was house capsule so he would have some place to rest at night. The second had his clothes. Plus the weighted clothing. The third and final one was a small refrigerator like the one Trunks took back to the past after he traveld from his time line to warm Goku and the others about the androids.
He explained that the capsule's were created by a company on Earth. A man named Dr. Briefs was the founder before his daughter, Bulma, took over the family business.
After getting rid of his torn up clothes, he changed into another gi that was similar to Goku's but, was blue like his old one. The weighted clothes, wristbands, and boots were black.
He left the red rod in the same pod Wag Too treated him in. It was actually called the power pole. It originally belonged to Gohan Sr. until it was passed down to Goku.
But ever since he settled down, he never used it. Even after he became a Super Saiyan. Not wanting that which was his family heirloom to gather dust, he decided to pass it down to Rayne. The young warrior vowed to handle his mentor's weapon with honor.
Of course he did adhere to the elders rule about leaving violence out of their village. At times he would leave the village and find a good spot to do some imaginary sparring. As well as some meditation.
Wag Too warned him of the creatures that roam the plains. The predators were called mastiff phalone and the always hunt in packs. He gave his thanks to the young healer before departing for his usual routine.
As he was meditating, these very creatures tired to sneak up on him. Emphasis on tried. Rayna's ability to sense the energy of other life forms helped him pin point them.
Coupled with his years of combat training and experience in fighting fast opponents, these beasts stood no chance against him. The bird-like beasts were tenacious but, even they knew when to give up.
Many left with more than a few bruises. Although, Rayne never killed a single one. Mostly because he was still full from the senzu bean.
While he was meditating, he perked up when he sensed some new life forms a few miles from the village. They were close to where the Lurmen found him.
Three of them felt awfully powerful but, one of them seemed to be injured as his life force was depleting. But not at a rapid pace. There were five others but, for some reason they felt lke they were same person. Plus they felt weaker than the other three.
Deciding to check it out he went back to the village and grabbed his power pole. He told Tee that he was going to check something out for a bit. To which the elder gave him his blessing.
He chose to stick to the ground as he didn't want to risk being spotted from the air. Especially with there still being daylight.
At the crash site, two female aliens and five men in white armor were getting their bearings. The first female was an adult Twi'Lek with blue skin, hazel eyes, and DD-cup breasts. She wore a brown tank top with only one sleeve on the left while the right side was bare. On her hip was a lightsaber. This is Aayla Secura. A master of the Jedi order.
The youngest female was a Torgruta with red skin, white markings, and B-cup breasts. She wore a red tube top, white pants, and red boots. This is Ahsoka Tano. A padawan of the Jedi Order.
The men in armor were clones. Three wore armor that looked similar to each other while two wore armor that had different colors.
One had blue markings on his armor with a left black pauldron and a battle skirt. On his hips were two blasters. This is Captain Rex of the 501st Republic Army.
The other had yellow markings on his armor and binoculars mounted on his helmet. He had a DC-15A blaster rifle. This is Marshal Commander Bly of the 327th Star Corps of the Republic Army.
Rex was setting up camp for the only human male in their group. He had white skin, short sandy-blonde hair, blue eyes, a right cybernetic arm, and a scar on his right eye. He wore a dark tunic, brown pants, and brown boots. On his left side was a lightsaber. This is Anakin Skywalker. A knight of the Jedi Order.
Anakin was injured saving his troops, his padawan, and Aayla from an explosion when the Separatists destroyed Aayla's ship at the Quell system.
The group tried to dock with Anakin's ship but, an explosion killed the pilots and caused him to sent the ship into hyperspace. As they acme out of hyperspace they almost flew into a sun. Thankfully they managed to miss it. Only to end up crashing on Maridun.
The survivors managed to get out the wreckage of their ship and go find help while Rex remained behind to guard his Jedi general.
An hour later, Aayla, Ahsoka, and their troops made it to a giant tree. Bly looked around before saying "I don't see any signs of life."
Suddenly, Aayla looked up and in alarm tackled the SIC while saying "Watch out!"
Crashing where Bly was standing was a giant pod. Ahsoka got out of the way as another came down hard where she stood.
The group moved away from the tree with Ahsoka saying "No wonder it's deserted! It's a death trap! You'd have to be crazy to want to dodge those on a daily basis!"
Aayla looked over to patches of dirt where there use to be pods. She said "It looks like someone or something intelligent enough to figure out a use for the pods has dragged them away."
Bly shined his helmet light at where his general was pointing and saw what she was talking about. There indeed were trails leading away from the tree. But another spot caught his attention.
Going over to it, he examined the spot of interest. He them said "And it looks like whoever was dragging those pods away also was dragging someone in the same direction."
The group went over and also examined the area Bly was looking over. One clone Flash said "There's a few darker splotches in the dirt. I'd wager it to be blood."
"Do you think they dragged whoever was lying here for medical aid or for something sinister?" Ahsoka asked the Twi'Lek.
"I don't know, Ahsoka. But we have to chance it if we are to help Skywalker." Aayla answered as they followed the trail. She also sensed they were being watched.
As the group continued on their way, Rayne was watching them from the brushes. He could tell the blue one was in charge with the way she carried herself. He also could tell she was stronger too.
The orange one who was only a year under himself was also stronger than the men in white armor but, only second to the blue one.
'Who are they? And how did they get here?' Rayne thought to himself. Judging from how dirty the two women looked, there's a good chance they crashed on this planet. But then again it could be a ploy.
'Although, that weakened energy signature doesn't support that theory.' Rayne thought.
It was then he sensed one of the men in white armor was sneaking up on him. Deciding to wait for him to get closer, Rayne remained absolutely still.
The moment he felt the cool metal of the man's gun at his head, he struck. Faster than the man could blink, the martial artist spun around and knocked the man's gun arm upward. Making his shot go off in the air.
The next thing that happened was the man getting punched in his helmet wearing face. Rayne pulled back enough strength so as to not smash through the man's helmet and cave his face in.
He then grabbed him and tossed him into two of his fellows. Rayne then charged out of the brush. The one with the binoculars fired at him but, to his surprise and that of the females he either dodged them or swatted the blaster bolts away.
As soon as Rayne was upon him, he disarmed the soldier before giving him a few punches to the gut before throwing him over his shoulder.
-Pshew-
-Pshew-
Hearing a searing sound, he turned and saw the two female brandishing some energy swords. The youngest had a green one and the eldest had one that matched her skin.
"Stand down, stranger." the blue one demanded.
"Why don't you make me?" Rayne countered as he drew his power pole.
The orange one smirked while saying "You really think that stick can stand up to a lightsaber?"
'Lightsaber. So that's what their called.' Rayne thought before saying "Let's test that, shall we?"
Before they could go at it, the two aliens and human sensed something coming their way. Which Rayne was all too familiar with.
Three mastiff phalone moved to pounce on the downed soldiers. But these men wouldn't become these beasts dinner tonight.
Rayne disappeared from where he was and then reappeared next to the soldiers. He sent the three predators flying in different directions with his weapon.
The Jedi were surprised by how fast he was. They didn't even see him move. Suddenly they sensed two more of these creatures coming at them. But like the other ones, they were sent flying.
The mastiff's began to realize that this hunt wasn't going to end well for them. So they decided to cut their losses and retreat.
After sensing the predators were all gone, Rayne turned to the two aliens and their soldiers. The latter of whom managed to get themselves up from the pile he made of them.
Rayne then asked while getting into a defensive pose "So shall we continue our dance?"
The group stood still as they were still processing what they just witnessed. This kid literally defeated four highly trained soldiers with little difficulty and bested five predators in only a few seconds. Not even a Jedi could do that.
The blue one was the first to deactivate her lightsaber. Much to the confusion of the troops and the orange one. She then said "Perhaps there might not be a need to fight."
"Master Secura?" the young one asked.
"Stand down, Ahsoka." the one called Secura ordered.
"But Master, he attacked our men." the one called Ahsoka pointed out.
"Yes and he also saved them from those creatures. He also did the same for us. If he wanted to harm us he would've done so. Now everyone stand down." Secura said to which the young one and the soldiers did but still kept their weapons at the ready.
Turning to Rayne Secura asked "Can we expect you to also not attack us?"
Rayne gave the woman a brief look before retracting his power pole and putting it away. But he was still poised and ready to fight.
"Now, might we know your name, young one?" Secura asked politely.
"Only if you give yours first." Rayne said.
"Very well. I am Jedi Master Aayla Secura. This is Jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano." Aayla said introducing herself and Ahsoka.
"And who are they?" Rayne asked indicating to the soldiers.
The one with the binoculars stepped up and said "Marshal Commander Bly of the 327th Star Corp of the Republic Army. These are Flash, Lucky, and Cameron."
Deciding to return the favor, the human warrior said "My names Rayne."
"Now that we got the introductions out of the way, why were you spying on us, Rayne?" Aayla asked.
"You're all strangers and I had no idea if you could be trusted. In fact I still don't trust you." Ratne answered.
"You are the last one to be talking about trust. You spied on us and then attacked us." Ahsoka said.
"Like I said I don't know if I can trust you. Plus, some friends of mine colonized this world to get away from your war and I won't have anyone bringing it here." Rayne said.
The group looked at each other for a bit before Aayla said "These friends of yours have little to fear from us. We require medical aid. One of our own is hurt badly."
While Rayne still didn't trust them, he could tell they were telling the truth. The one he was sensing was getting worse.
Giving a sigh, he turned to the group and said "I can't make any promises but, I think my friends can help you. So long as you keep any form of violence out of their village." Rayna said firmly.
"That won't be a problem. Can you take us to them?" Ahsoka asked.
"It's best that we go back the way you came. I have a much safer means of getting your friend the medical help he'll need. One that's much safer than traveling on foot. As you already know, those things are pack hunters. They'll be back with bigger numbers." Rayne said turning to where the group came from.
"You mean you have transportation? Then why aren't we head there instead of our camp?" Lucky asked.
Deciding to later ask why the soldier sounded like the one with the binoculars, Rayne said "Who said I came here by vehicle?"
The group looked at each other in surprise before choosing to focus on helping Anakin. It was a few minutes until they returned.
Much to the surprise of the soldier with blue markings. When he saw Rayne, he pointed his gun at him and said "Hold it right there! State your business!"
"Stand down, Captain Rex. He's going to help us." Aayla said to which the soldier calmed down a bit.
Rayne went over to the man and gave him a look over. It was then he noticed the cybernetic hand. He knew giving him a senzu bean was out of the question. He had no idea if it would grow back but, if so then it would be a painful experience with that metal arm.
Fortunately, Wag Too was a great healer. Even before he was given those senzu beans.
Ahsoka stepped forward and asked "You said you have a way to reach these friends of yours. So how are we going to reach them without transportation."
"Simple. My way. You and Aayla can grab onto my shoulders. Your men can do the same with you two." Rayne said as he placed his hand on Anakin.
"And what is touching your shoulder going to do?" Rex asked.
Turning to the group, Rayne asked "Do you wanna play twenty questions or do you want to your friend to some help?"
Still looking a bit unsure, the group did as instructed. Aayla and Ahsoka grabbed onto his shoulders while their men did the same to them and each other.
Rayne placed two fingers onto his forehead and imagined the Lurmen village. In the blink of an eye, the Time Patroler, the Jedi, and soldiers were gone.
The Lurmen were just about to turn in for the night until they let out some surprised yelps at seeing Rayne appear with some stranger's at his back.
The Republic group looked around wildly in shock. One moment they were back at the crash site but, now they were in a village.
"What the hell?!"
"How did we get here so fast?!"
"Where are we?!"
"How did he do that?!"
These were questions the clones asked as they were trying to make heads or tails about what happened. Ahsoka was wide eyed from the experience and was unable to come up with any words. Aayla had been a Jedi her entire life and she never seen or heard of anyone with the ability to teleport themselves.
Tee Watt Faa hobbled over and asked "Rayne, how in the heavens did you show up like that and who are these people with you?"
"I can explain the first part later, Elder. But these people need help. Their friend is in need of help." Rayne said gesturing to the group that's with him.
Aayla was able to table to questions she had for a bit and focused on the task at hand. She stepped up and said "We are peacekeepers. We are Jedi from the Galactic Republic. Our ship ceashed a few miles away, and as you can see one of us is bladly injured. We need your help."
Tee Watt Faa then said "Violence breeds violence. Jedi are no peacekeepers."
Ahsoka and Aayla were confused at first before they looked at their lightsabers. The former stepped up and said "We're fighting for freedom."
"And freedom and peace require fear and death?" Tee Watt Faa asked in turn. He then said "We colonized this system to find solace from your wretched war. We came here to find peace. You must leave. You will only destroy what small amount of peace in thos galaxy. You will only bring the destruction of us."
Before Aayla could say anything, Rayne stepped up and said "Elder, no doubt you were against Wag Too bringing me here as you suspected me being a warrior, you still allowed me to stay when I needed help. Are you really going to ignore another strangers need for help? Their friend is dying."
Tee Watt Faa turned to Rayne and asked "Why couldn't you just give him one of those senzu beans? If they could get you on your feet then they should do the same for him."
'Senzu beans?' the Republic group thought while looking at each other confusion.
"Because the man has a metal arm where his old one is. I don't know if it'll grow back but, if it does it could cause some further problems with the metal being in the way." Rayne pointed out.
Tee Watt Faa went over to the downed Jedi and saw the metal arm in question. With a deep sigh, he turned to his son and said "Wag Too, go to your tent and get your things ready."
"Yes, father." Wag Too said going to the medical tent.
"Thank you, elder. We will not forget this." Aayla said with her and Ahsoka giving him a bow of gratitude.
"Just keep any acts of violence out of our village. For now you best get some rest." Tee Watt Faa said before addressing Rayne "You however have some explaining to do."
Giving the elder Lurmen a nod, he followed him to his tent while the clones helped carry their general to the tent.
But in a few days, the Lurmen and Republic group will soon learn of Rayne's power.
End
