When they got back, Cinder was absolutely ecstatic to have her roommate back. 'Spinner! My homie! You alright, sis?' She greeted, hugging Spinner and tenderly patting her on the back. 'absolutely, my one and only arsonist!' She responded. Linda called out back to them 'you girls enjoy yourselves, I'm gonna get the rest of the family back together as soon as I can!'
There were 2 more doors left for Linda to open at that moment: Siren's and Miss Mecca's. She decided to go and save Siren first, as she seemed to be more generous, which would probably equal a fairer fight. Linda took a deep breath of motivation as her scarf opened the door and she entered confidently…
She found herself at the base of a small hill, surrounded by grass-covered, pleasant-looking mountains. Before her, the hill looked to have a shallow gradient and she could just about hear 'Ave Maria' being sung, presumably by Siren, at the top.
'Ave, Maria, grátia plena
Maria grátia plena
Maria grátia plena
Ave, ave Dóminus
Dóminus tecum
Benedícta tu in muliéribus
Et benedíctus, benedíctus
Fructus fructus ventris tui, Iesus
Ave, Maria'
Linda wasn't sure Whether to climb up the hill or wait until the singing had concluded. After all, Siren did have a lovely singing voice and she was known to get really angry if someone even dared to interrupt her. Linda decided to wait, when suddenly, a small creature no bigger than a rabbit pushed past her and briskly hurried up to join many other creatures like it. They all identically looked like glove puppets, with white heads, blue bodies and pink arms. She then noticed they were all here to watch Siren perform, so she followed the strange Puppet-Creatures to the peak of the hill just as her sister's last notes faded away.
'ah, Linda! I'm so glad you came to visit me!' Siren greeted in a soft, welcoming tone as Linda reached the top. 'and you're just in time to hear me perform Sumer Is Icumen In, too!' She looked like some sort of motherly, angelic figure in her demon form, which also felt somewhat misleading from Linda's perspective. Her loose, cream dress covered quite an area of the ground, and her long, teal hair shone brightly in the warm, hazy sun.
With that, Linda observed her elegant stature and requested 'I know you look very lovely in your demon form but pretty please can I exorcise you? You're only the 3rd out of us 12, not counting me, of course' Siren replied 'oh, but come! You haven't listened to my absolutely beautiful choral singing yet! Let me begin, everyone!'
And so, she cleared her throat and took a deep breath, before belting this out like the angel she was:
'Sumer is icumen in,
Lhudely sing, cuccu!
Groweth sed, and bloweth med,
And springeth, the wide nu!
Sing, cuccu!'
As she was doing this, Linda noticed all the Puppet-Creatures were grouping up and lying down on the hem of her dress. Siren was also singing a little more vigorously now-
'Ewe bleateth after lamb,
Loweth after calve cu,
Bullock sterteth, bucke verteth,
Murie sing cuccu!
Cuccu! Cuccu!
Well singest thou, cuccu,…'
When the song reached a crescendo, she concluded then bowed, saying 'gather round, children.' as she did so. Just then, Linda was extremely shocked to see a huge earth monster emerge from where Siren was standing, then snapped its powerful jaws shut on her and the Puppet-Creatures. Linda took a few paces back worriedly as it span around, still with everyone in its mouth, before reopening said mouth as the sky swiftly transformed from bright and sunny to drab and cloudy. The Earth Monster retreated back into the ground, revealing Siren and her Puppet-Creatures, who looked entirely different, compared to when they were being eaten.
Siren now had a malevolent expression on her face, her hair now pointed upwards and was bright green, and her dress was now more jagged in some places along with being dark red in colour. The accompanying Puppet-Creatures had a similar facial expression and colour scheme, and they now had strange, thick antennae on their heads, were floating midair and were carrying large scythes which looked sharpened to a point.
'I AM REBORN!' She shrieked in fulfilment as lightning flashed from way above her and the Puppet-Creatures started to swarm around Linda, as if to slice her into the smallest fragments possible. Her demon scarf grabbed one of the creatures before it could possibly cause any harm, and miraculously, it turned back into its original, peaceful self. She released it from the scarf's grasp, where it proceeded to wander around aimlessly like nothing had ever happened. Linda smiled to herself satisfiedly. She had a plan on how to exorcise her second-eldest sister.
Racing around as fast as her little legs could carry her, Linda weaved her way around the hilltop and tried to 'cure' all the Puppet-Creatures with a single touch of her scarf. She even threw one at Siren who, being agitated as ever, furiously threw the oblivious creature back at her and cried 'what in the Zako lord's name are you doing to my minions?!' then shouted 'fine, if that's what you want to do to me then I shall have it my way! I AM SIREN, AND I DO WHAT I WANT!'.
She then proceeded to wave her arms in a way that bought down brilliant streaks of lightning, which struck in various spots of the arena. Linda screamed intermittently as she tried her best to expertly dodge being fried, but this didn't last long as Siren now looked a bit tired and dishevelled. She slouched and stated to herself 'alright then, I've had as much fun as I can get. Time to go back to being…normal! Hee hee hee!'. And so, the Earth Monster from earlier reappeared to clamp onto her with its jaws. It span around once more, then reopened that large gape with Siren returning to how she was originally and the dull clouds in the sky parting to reveal the sun once again.
'I'm terribly sorry I had an outburst!' She apologised 'it was a complete accident and I'll make sure it never happens again'. Linda was about to say 'no it wasn't, you totally did that on purpose!' but she didn't want to rub anymore salt in the wounds, so she just nodded and stayed where she was, her demon scarf clenching its fist as if to facepalm itself quite weirdly.
'anyway, I think I might be getting ahead of myself…' Siren continued, '…so I'd like to introduce my next performance.' and her fellow Puppet-Creatures all cheered happily. 'this one will be sung on special behalf of my dear sister, Linda!' The Puppet-Creatures cheered again and Linda thought 'but….! I didn't request anything!'. She tried to put a halt on this but it was too late. Siren had already started singing some other generic traditional opera song Linda didn't know or care about. But then she noticed the Puppet-Creatures crowding around her dress again and had another idea…
Linda proceeded to tiptoe carefully around the hem of Siren's dress and gradually picked off each of the Puppet-Creatures, with them whining deafeningly as they were removed. When all this was said and done, Siren wrapped her song up only to realise her Puppet-Creatures had somehow disappeared. Irritatedly, she screamed 'HELP! I'M HAVING A PARALYSIS ATTACK!', waving her arms helplessly. Then, the Earth Monster showed up once again, but this time it actually bit its master, and from within it a faint cry of 'you- hit me!' could be heard.
Once it sank back into the ground, she was standing there with a huge bite mark around her waist, and her otherwise perfect hair was tousled and covered in dirt in some places. Siren shook her head in disbelief and commented 'alright, Linda, I have HAD IT with you ruining my performances! This is the final straw, I'm going to make you suffer in the worst possible ways and it's going to be very pai- actually, you know what? I give up now and I surrender. Go on, sweetheart, exorcise me all you want. I deserve to be freed of this vanity demon.'
Linda felt absolutely thrilled to the core by this as she jumped up and punched the air with her demon scarf's fist. This was the first time one of her sisters had actually surrendered!. She stamped her foot on the ground 3 times and called out to the Earth Monster waiting below 'oh, Earthy, it's din-dins time! Do you want to eat who's holding you captive?'. And right on cue, it shot up from the ground and violently crunched on Siren several times, all the way up until the vanity demon that had been causing her all that distress was freed and ceased to exist. The Earth Monster then angled itself towards where the hill sloped down, and spat her out, where she had returned to her normal form but appeared as nothing but a teal and cream blur from Linda's point of view as she was thrown at such a velocity, before landing somewhat painfully with a THUMP.
After all that had happened, Linda strode carefully down the hill to see if Siren was alright, but not before making sure to grab a teal-coloured egg that lay in the ditch where both she and the Earth Monster had been. 'I don't even know how I got into that situation…' Siren muttered as she stood up slowly but surely and brushed herself off. She looked very elegant for her age, with her natural highlights of makeup, intricately dyed teal hair and simplistic cream dress with three-quarter, puffy sleeves and a rose gold belt to secure it. However, this purity was somewhat tainted, as she was caked in a moderate amount of dirt and had a few cuts and grazes from that harsh landing.
Linda looked up at her, beaming with pride. 'I'm glad you surrendered. Honestly, it's been tricky enough trying to exorcise my sisters on my own.' Siren smiled slightly and patted her on the head tenderly in response ' I know how you feel, Linda, but you've saved me, and what has occurred before is in the past now. Finally I can go back to giving my beautiful gift of music to the world!' then she noticed the egg Linda had bought down with her and observed it curiously ', and do pray tell, what is that in your hand?'.
'well, take it and maybe you'll find out!' Answered Linda. She took the egg, and it opened without warning before a tall pure Zako climbed out and did some fort of praying and bowing movement. It looked oddly similar to siren herself, only its hair was shorter and it was wearing red bracelets. She admitted 'oh my, it looks just like me!' and Linda replied 'so it does! Anyway, let's get out of here so I can get a shimmy on with saving everyone else'. And thus, they exited without another word.
