So this chapter is mostly a transition chapter to show what Glass Joe was talking about with Little Mac and Doc Louis before we get into some strange stuff in the next chapter also I realized that in After the Bomb second edition mutant domestic animals can have a flaw of domestication that means they can sometimes have trouble resisting orders humans give them with dogs having it the worst having a sub-variant called subservience Dana isn't quite as bad as the flaw is described in the book but she is first and foremost a dog and her instincts are to fulfill a task given to her to make her...Well her human happy…
Meanwhile at the apartment Doc Louis and Little Mac shared Glass Joe told them about what he Bimbette told him in French and what he felt that meant.
"I think…" Joe said quietly as he closed his eyes "...From what I learned with my experiences with Dana is that Bimbette is so nervous because she fears her master is still out to get her...She wants to lay low and probably fears doing anything to stick her neck out...Like being with a famous human will be what alerts her Master...And what Bimbette speculated is true that her Master has his own psychic powers then he could indeed be a very dangerous man…"
Doc Louis and Little Mac looked at each other
"Geez Louise…" Little Mac sighed "...That's probably the reason she had to leave New York the first time! If only there was something we could do to make sure she was safe!"
"Unfortunately…" Joe sighed "...She didn't even mention her master's name! Whether it's because she genuinely doesn't know his name or she just fears to speak it because she fears it will summon him like speaking of the devil I don't know but I…"
Just then Joe's cell phone rang he could see it was from Dana "Excuse Moi…" He said "...I have to answer this."
"Joe, I'm sorry…" at the small table they were sitting at Doc and Mac could easily hear what Dana was saying because of the Mutant Doberman's loud and boisterous voice "...I was talking with Bimbette and I brought up the subject of pregnancy and there is a chance she could become pregnant with a human's child…"
(Little Mac blushed deeply at this as he hadn't even thought about having babies)
"...And I think that caused another panic attack and I might have made things worse! Oh Joe I'm so sorry…"
"Ma Cherie!" Joe quickly said "You have nothing to apologize for! You have no control over how other mutants react! I was just talking to Doc and Mac and telling them my theory that the reason Bimbette is so nervous is because she fears her creator!
Later that night after Bimbette had spent some time calming down in her apartment as she thought about the possibilities of a human/mutant animal hybrid child and strange and horrifying possibilities that might result from that! She emerged late at night when all but the most nocturnal of mutants were in their homes mostly sound asleep…
Joe was right...What she primarily feared the most was her Master finding her and how getting in a relationship with Little Mac who had become a world famous boxer would probably alert him because it would be all over the celebrity gossip columns!
But what to do? If she stayed here in Forest the question of Little Mac would keep hanging over her head like the Sword of Damocles...As she stepped toward the edge of Forest where the Tree Apartments ended and the true wilderness began she thought about leaving Forest and go and wander the deep wilderness again...This time alone.
As she thought...A wasp...Not an intelligent mutant wasp, an ordinary insect crawled out of its hive very unusual to do so at midnight...Buzzed down and stung Bimbette's tail!
The Mutant Doe screamed with pain and fright and began to run on all fours not knowing she was about to run into a strange and trippy experience!
OK...Next chapter might take a while because I need to think about how this strange mystical experience will go
