A/N: I DID IT! With Caffeine, Music and the need to stay awake, I had finally finish the last chapter for the First Story Arc that I hopefully was Okay. After this chapter will be the Epilogue to wrapp it up and couple of filler stories before I start the next story arc. I enjoy writing the fight between Kaiser and Yuichi as I tried to give both my OC's a challenge as I feel that stories should have struggle even if we know that the outcome will be in the protagonist's favor because it's the journey that matters and how the destinations ends. Anyways with this I hope I have at least met some expectations if not only a little for those who enjoy what I have to write.
Well enough Yapping and let's get on with the story.

Chapter 10
The Beast and The Stray
Part 4: The Departed and The Promise
A guard came in to check in on Kaiser but was not to thrilled as he heard the screams form the cell as he remembers the rumors that this kid was supposed to be some hotshot psycho Taimanin who single handily destroyed half of the underground hell city, Yomihara.
The Guard opened the door as he saw the Kaiser hanging from his wrist as he notice that the wounds on his body were mostly gone?
"Hey, can you get me some water? My? My fucking throat is drier than a desert." Kaiser croaked out as he couldn't even lift his head to look at the guard.
The guard scoffed as he ignored Kaiser's request.
"Quite prisoner. Yuichi and the higher-ups want you to be as uncomfortable as possible."
Kaiser clicked his tongue as this was going to be hard than he expected but an idea popped as memories of training with father, Kenichi, was more than just combat but also subterfuge. Kaiser started to focus on his breathing as he slowly focused.
'This is gonna fucking hurt...'
Kaiser proceeded to have a heart attack as he was flailing around as he was still hanged up while all chained up as he finally appeared to be dead. The guard panicked and ran over to check on Kaiser while barking out on his radio. "CODE BLUE! I REPEAT CODE BLUE! I NEED MEDICAL PERSONNEL AT CELL BLOCK D-3 CELL NUMBER 206!"
The guard panicked as he was worried that if this guy died before Lord Kuroi or Yuichi have had their fun with him then it would be his Neck on the line as Yuichi did not tolerate failure of any kind. The guard got closer to the body as he reached towards Kaiser's neck to check for a pulse
….nothing
…...still nothing
…...then a single beat
Kaiser woke up from his fake heart attack and wraps his legs around the guard the guards neck. The guard struggled as he felt his throat being crush as finally he heard a loud snap as a sharp pain shot through his boy after which everything went numb as his vision faded to black. Kaiser didn't waste any time as he used his feet to grab the guard's pistol that was strapped to his vest, with some finesse he was able to throw the gun up to his hands with his feet as he used it to shoot the chain that was keeping him hanged up. The chain broke as Kaiser shot at it but his hands were still locked up in chains as he quickly picked the guards body to fins a key ring as he used it to unlock his restraints. The guard was on the ground, laying lifeless as Kaiser exited the cell as he looked at the dead body in the cell with no remorse for him as he moved forward. He saw that he was in an rundown hallway with a bunch of rooms that seem to be like the holding cell that he was in. Kaiser made his way down the hallway as he passed the other cells filled with humans being kept prisoner by these bastards.
As he walked down the halls of the prison, he ran into another guard who was making his rounds. Kaiser quickly attacked the man before he could see him or even call out for help from his radio as he dash towards in seconds, First strike was in the throat crush his larynx, Second strike was his sternum as the air was knocked out of him breaking a few ribs in the process, the Third and Fourth Strike hit the Shoulder and Liver as the left shoulder was dislocated while the liver was ruptured, and the Final strike was the at the temple of the head as his skull was caved instantly killing the guard as this all occurred in a span of seconds. As the man was on the floor dead before he knew what him his only thought was who was that young man that was smiling at him with such... savagery. Kaiser smiled with enjoyment as he enjoyed seeing his enemies fall before him as he reveled in bloodshed the sound of cracking bones and the sight of blood being spilled gave him feelings of such euphoria as the man's body went limp.
Kaiser continued deeper inside the corridor until he passed a cell that held a familiar face.
"Huh...hey, your that woman from before." Kaiser said as he saw the figure of Azuma in her cell with a collar around her neck. Azuma looked up to see the face of the person talking to her as she gave out a weak chuckle.
"I know you, your that freelance reporter from before. What are you doing here?" Azuma asked weakly as she was not expecting the so called weak and her own opinion cute looking guy to be here.
"I suppose I got too close, and now I'm in some deep in the shit." Kaiser explained as he noticed the collar around the woman's neck.
Azuma scoffed as she looked at him closer now seeing how strong this kid was up close and knew immediately he could break her out of this place, but something was off about him. He didn't look... alright as he had the look of a Wild Dog looking to hunt. The guy who she had pinned down in the alley was totally different than the one who stood before her.
"So what are you gonna do now write an article about it?" Azuma joked as she was hoping this kid had a plan.
"Well, I guess you can say I got my big scoop, but no... My real name is Kaiser Wrath, and I fortunately, am not a freelance reporter... I am a Taimanin." Kaiser responded as he saw Azuma walk over to the cell's doors as he opened it and entered.
"Well then, now ain't that a surprise...how about I cut you a deal? You break me out of here, and I'll put in a good word for you with Hayato Private Academy." Azuma smirked as Kaiser pondered this; he hadn't done anything yet because she wasn't in immediate danger, but he liked what he heard so far.
"Well, I would say no in most cases, but having an esteem vampire hunting academy owe me a favor would be a boon. Sure, why not?"Kaiser said as approached Azuma. He noticed the collar and seeing Kaiser eyeing it up and down before he approached her, touching it.
"Do you know how to remove it? asked Azuma with curiosity.
"Well, the problem is that this thing has what seems to be an auto-injector. As soon as I fiddle with it...well ever is inside that collar will be inside of you. " Answered Kaiser as he examined it, "But don't worry, I have a solution."
Kaiser grabbed the collar as Azuma gave him a worried look.
"I guess... there's not much of a choice... do it and see what happens." Azuma said as she gave Kaiser a look of confidence. " And What happens... is not your fault, kid"
Kaiser nodded as he took a deep breath as he focused his mind on removing the collar around Azuma's nex.
A Second Passed...
With a swift pull the collar was ripped apart quickly before the autoinjector could pierce Azuma's neck.
Crimson Energy faintly flickered throughout Kaiser's hands but neither him or Azuma notice it.
Kaiser dropped the two pieces of the collar to the floor as it came off of Azuma's neck with an audible thump on the floor.
"Woah! That was...rather simple?" Azuma said with relief.
"Well, when your collared by these, they just plug into your nervous system, so tampering with the collar will trigger it's release of a bomb or chemicals, making you feel sick from all whatever is being pumped into you. So I decided to just rip it apart before it could... Hey, simple works best, as they say." Kaiser joked around with Azuma.
"Thanks, boy. I appreciate this, really. So what's your plan? Azuma asked as she rubbed her neck.
For days these assholes had her locked up, and even some molested her while she was restrained. It also didn't help that they were pumping here with drugs and other aphrodisiacs to get her in the mood, but none of the thugs ever tried to rape with her as they said that she was to be offered as a gift to the Incubus King, unspoiled.
"Not sure yet... but first I have to find and see if there is any info or something that I can bring back to Gosha Village for my mission. If you would like to tag along, then that would be fine." Explained Kaiser as he made his way out of the cell to check the corridor.
"Alright, Kid, no problem. After all, Big Sis here would feel terrible if a cutie like you were to get lost or hurt." Azuma said with a smile as she was blatantly hitting on Kaiser, who was oblivious to the woman's advances.
"I'm not a kid, alright. I'm 17 years old and about to turn 18 this year, so I'm basically an adult, and my name is Kaiser." Kaiser grumbled as he hated being treated like a snot-nose brat.
"Hehehe, sure thing whatever you say, cutie. After this, why don't' you let Big Sis here treat ya to some grub because I know this amazing Chinese place nearby if you are interested? It's really good too." Azuma asked. "You know, normally I don't trust people very easily, but for you... I got a good feeling about you. It seems like you know more than you let on.
"Free meal sounds like a motivator for me. Okay, that sounds great. We will eat when we get out of here, and shit, I'll buy the first round of drinks. How does that sound?" Answered Kaiser.
"Oh hell yeah, I wouldn't say no to a free drink from a cutie like you!" Said Azuma with excitement.
Kaiser and Azuma were in agreement as Kaiser was headed to go find the admin office or something like where data or intel would be stored in order to find information on the Red Dragon's operations or anything useful that he could take back to the Taimanin. The duo made their way around the prison facility as they avoided patrols and guards who were looking for them. As they were looking for what resembled an administrative office, Kaiser discovered that they were in a underground facility that was somewhere near the bay area of tokyo and the most important discovery was that the production of the drug "Devil's Breaths" was being produced here.
"Well, I at least accomplished one objective, but how to get rid of this shit... is there anything useful here?" Kaiser asked Azuma as he looks around.
Azuma eyes scan the area until she saw a gas valve as an idea popped in her head.
"Hey Kai... do you got anything to cause a spark?" Asked Azuma mischievously with a large grin on her face.
"Hmm...I see. Yeah, I think I got just the thing." Replied Kaiser as he unloaded the pistol magazine that He got off the guard that he killed earlier as he took out a single bullet from the magazine.
He approached the gas valve and broke it off as it was starting to release some pressurized gas into the facility, he then place the bullet at a spot where the the valve was as the pressure was building up as it would cause the the bullet to shoot out and cause spark in the gas filled area.
"Hey Kai...when this goes off it's going to cause a big bang...how long before it blows?" Azuma asked with a scowl on her face, signaling to him that she was ready to make a run for it.
"If my math is right and don't quote me on that, but we got about 15 minutes before the big bang goes off. You can leave now, but I still have a mission to finish." Kaiser as he started to head out on his own before he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder as he turned around to see Azuma have a look of concern on her face. "I know you must think that your mission is more important than looking out for me and that you think you don't need my help, but it wouldn't hurt for you to take someone with you would it." Azuma asks, looking at him with her violet eyes, showing sincerity and concern for his well being.
Kaiser had a look of genuine acceptance on his face as he responded, "If I take you with me, that means that your ass would get caught in some bad shit or worse, killed along with me, and no amount of pretty looks or even sex appeal would save you then. Also, I promise to buy you a round of drinks after this, and as a gentleman, I can't go back on my word to lady." Kaiser said jokingly as he winked at Azuma.
Kaiser broke into a run as he made his way deeper into the facility looking for any information or additional data on the Red Dragons.
Azuma was blushing as her heart skipped a beat. "You don't have to flatter me... I wonder if he is single." Azuma mutters softly, hoping Kaiser didn't hear it. The thought of that strong and capable boy—no a man—like him treating her like a woman and not like a delicate flower appealed to her as she thought of his arms around her waist or perhaps something more...
As Kaiser made his way through the facility looking for anything that resembled an admin office, he avoided the guards who were on high alert due to them discovering the bodies he left behind and his escape. Keeping track of the time he had left before this place went up in flames, he finally made his way up some stairs and led it to what seems like a large set of double doors. Taking cover behind a corner, he saw that the doors swung open as Yuichi and a couple guards walked out, most likely going off to find him as they probably knew he had escaped. Once they were gone, Kaiser quickly made his way into the room and stepped into a large office-like room that was well furnished with a couch, tables, and drawers on the side. A laptop was sitting on top of the desk.
"Bingo, this is just what I was looking for now to find info and get the fuck out of here." Kaiser said as he made his way to the large desk and turned on the laptop.
Kaiser found multiple unencrypted folders with documents about Red Dragon operations that went beyond Japan's borders and into other factions as well. Information like new recruits and where they come from is listed, as well as bank accounts, multiple client's information, and possible buyers written on a spreadsheet. One document mentions something called Project Argent that is currently being run in Japan as well as their main base located in Australia, and that all will be concluded soon. There were several other documents related to it, but unfortunately Kaiser did not have time to read them all, so he broke the laptop and extracted the hard drive with all the information. Having got what he came for, he got up from the desk and made his way to the exit as he mentally noted that he had 5 minutes left until the big bang happened and this entire place went up in a huge explosion.
Upon reaching the double doors, he made a few steps out as his instincts kicked in, and he ducks down as the door is blown off its hinges and bullets are flying all around him. From his side, several guards began firing their assault rifles at him.
"Fucking perfect! This just fucking couldn't wait, huh? Well, bring it!" He shouted as he took cover behind a corner and quickly raised his pistol and took some precision shots while shouting, "Is that all you got, bitches?
Some of the thugs got hit after realising they could not get close without getting killed. They stopped when one of the soldiers shouted at him.
"Stay right there! We know you are by yourself, so come on out slowly with your hands up and we might let you live!"
Kaiser moved from the spot he was hiding in as he stepped out into view. Once he did, several guards came rushing towards him firing their guns, but Kaiser's quick reflexes were able to avoid the bullets as he dove forward and rolled forward to gain close to the distance between him and them before grabbing one of the thugs and using him as a shield while firing his pistol at the rest. This move shocked and stunned the group in front of him, who did not expect him to charge at them like that. Kaiser's marksmanship was spot on as every shot hit its mark, killing the thugs, including the one being used as a human shield, as his comrades had no reservation about firing on one of their own. After having dealt with them, Kaiser scavenges their ammunition as well as taking a combat knife from one of the dead thugs. He proceeded to run towards the stairs, as he knew stealth was a forgone option at this point.
As he was running towards an exit, he faced a couple guards here and there, knowing that he was slowly running out of time. The exits were being blocked off as the thugs and guards were trying to corner him or pin him for a prolonged battle of attrition, but Kaiser powered through, knowing that if he stopped to fight then they would overwhelm him with numbers alone in no time. As he fought his way out, Kaiser found that the stairs led him to the roof top of what seems to be a building surrounded by shanty buildings and was near the Tokyo Bay as he saw they were in the slums of Tokyo.
A ship's horn sounded off in the distance as the wind and city would bare witness to what was to come.
It was there that Kaiser saw the one man he knew he would see waiting for him as he was staring off into the city's Skyline off in the distance.
"Yo... Yuichi... enjoying the view?" Kaiser asked in a calm and friendly voice, but he pointed his gun at the man as the gesture said otherwise as he kept his eyes trained on Yuichi.
"Hey Buddy, you weren't going to leave without saying goodbye first, were you? Here I thought we had a connection and a heart-to-heart moment back in that cell." Yuichi said with a fake sorrow in his voice as his face betrayed no emotion.
"Yeah, sorry about that... but I got a date after this, and I'm kind of strapped for time right now... so how about we do this another time?" Kaiser said as he stared down at Yuichi, not once taking his eyes off of the man, knowing how dangerous he was.
"Well, I guess I should keep this short then. Join us. Join us, Katsuo; together we can survive this cruel world as well as become a powerful force in the criminal underworld. You and I are cut from the same cloth that is dyed in Crimson. We are Beasts pretending to be men. We don't belong in a society that lies to itself or anywhere other than on the battlefield filled with the blood of our enemies. You know this to be the truth." Yuichi said as he had his arm spread out as though he wanted to embrace a brother he had longed for.
"Sorry, Yuichi, but the Katsuo you know was a lie, just like the Yuichi I met that day on the park was a lie too. We are just both liars looking for a place to belong, but my place isn't here. It's back with my family, with those who I care for. Maybe that's the one difference between us. You live for no one but for yourself while believing in nothing but killing, but I live for those who love me and kill those who are evil. I will put my love and faith in the people I trust. Yuichi, I am only going to say this once. Stand Down, and I won't even try to kill you for what you did to me." Kaiser solemnly as he aims his pistol at the man who he felt some twisted form of kinship with over their short time together.
If things were different, if Shiranui hadn't been the one who found him and gave him a family with love and kindness. Kaiser thought to himself that he might have turned up like Yuichi. Hell, if Yuichi was the one who met Shiranui, Shiranui, then things could be different for him... but there was no point in thinking of what could've been and what should've been; the only thing that matters now was the here and now.
"Wow, I never thought you would reject me like this, Buddy. That'll make this harder... We still have to fight each other, don't we?" Yuichi said in a mockery of sadness in his voice, but the small smirk on his face told a different tale as he felt his blood begin to surge with excitement.
"It's not my job to understand you, Yuichi. I can just tell what kind of man you are, and regret isn't something you would know or feel. Here let me give you a warning since I respect your abilities." Kaiser said as his finger slowly moved towards the trigger, ready to squeeze the first shot. "I. Will. Kill. You...so don't hold back because I won't."
"It's getting late...so let's get this over with...Kaiser." Yuichi said as he finally said Kaiser's real name, accepting that things had to be this way.
As Fate Would Decree, There Can Only Be One Apex Predator.
"Yeah, let's get this over... Buddy." Kaiser said as he pulled the trigger of the pistol as he fired on Yuichi, who proceeded to dodge the bullets and pulled out two customised KA-75 pistols with bayonet knives attached to them.
Yuichi always took pleasure from hunting as it made him feel in his most natural element, but this was different; no, this was not a mere hunt of predator and prey. It was a battle between the Hunter and Monster, but who was the Hunter and who was the Monster was the question. Regardless, this fight was almost like something he was born for.
Yuichi dodged every bullet with grace and fluidity that seemed beyond natural for him, dodging in ways that defied all laws of physics as his body contoured in ways that it shouldn't. Yet Yuichi continued to fire back, letting loose three shots with each hand, which Kaiser once again avoided until finally one shot grazed the side of his cheek as Kaiser smirked.
"Haha! Your.. Pretty Good!"
The Battle of The Beast and The Stray continued as it was starting to turn against Yuichi after the small nicks and close calls, with Kaiser opening fire on Yuichi's location only to find that the man had already disappeared from his line of sight and then reappeared behind Kaiser, kicking him in the back and knocking him off balance. The blow wasn't the first time he was hit, but unlike in the cell, where Yuichi was holding back as to not kill him out right as to prolong his suffering, this time the kick felt hard as there was power behind it. Yuichi really is on a whole other level than the common street thug.
"You son of a Bitch! How did you move that fast?" Kaiser growled. He knew exactly what Yuichi did; it was a simple trick that most Taimanin and seasoned warriors knew how to pull, but there was just no way the man should have been able to disappear like that or move as fast with Kaiser losing track of him. It didn't make sense physically, as the man wasn't using Taima Particles, Spiritual Energy, or even Magic to reinforce his body. Even for an A-rank Taimanin like Kaiser who uses pure physical strength and skills, there is a limit to what his body can do.
Yuichi simply shrugged his shoulders while spinning the two bayoneted pistols around his fingers as he showed off his skills. "I learned how to use my body the best way possible from my old teacher, but even that is not enough... which is why I took something to give me an edge. You're welcome to try it if you want."
Yuichi produces an empty vial from his pocket as he tosses it over to Kaiser.
"Devil's Breath, one shot of this drug can give a weakling the power and strength to fight the strong, so for someone like me, it will only amplify my power. It can also dampen the senses, such as pain or even fear, allowing one to react faster and sharper than most normal humans. The Red Dragon's are the only ones that can produce this drug, and it's becoming quite popular, but the down side is that it is very addictive, but I guess I can worry about that later after I've killed you." Yuichi explained as he got in a gun-fu stance.
Kaiser smiled as he took out his combat knife. "You crazy son of a bitch. I can see you're taking this seriously. Good, then I guess it's time to take off the gloves. Now get serious too." Kaiser got in a CQC gunfighting stance as he held the combat knife in a reverse grip underneath the pistol and charged at Yuichi, who shot at him.
Kaiser used his superhuman reflexes to dodge the bullets as he got closer with his knife. Once Kaiser got close enough, he tried stabbing Yuichi, who proceeded to parry him with the bayonets on his pistols.
The sound of metal clashing against each other filled the rooftop along with grunts from both men as they fought to kill one another, with Kaiser keeping the pressure by attacking Yuichi with his knife along with a few gun shots, only for the latter to dodge every strike as if reading his mind and then counter with a kick, sending Kaiser flying back. This made Kaiser realize just how dangerous this opponent was, but even so, Kaiser wouldn't lose yet—not when he had his family waiting for him. Kaiser felt the blood dripping from his cheek and clenched his teeth in anger. It was then that red energy sparked around Kaiser as he felt power course through him, making it look like there were veins glowing red pulsing through his body.
Yuichi had no idea what was happening to him, but it didn't take long before he noticed a massive buildup of something within Kaiser.
"What the..." was all he managed to get out of his mouth before Kaiser charged at him at incredible speed and force. Yuichi barely dodged out of the way by quickly side stepping while trying to keep his distance but saw Kaiser still coming at him with more speed than he had trouble keeping up with. Kaiser swiped at him again with his knife, but Yuichi evaded once again, pushing his body into moving faster than what a human being was supposed to be capable even with the Devil's Breath drug running through his system but still he was only barely able to dodge as Kaiser pressed on his attack. Kaiser slashes and stabs at Yuichi, who can barely keep up with Kaiser assaults, as sooner or later Kaiser would land a fatal hit in.
Yuichi tried to cut or stab Kaiser with the bayonets of his guns, but he anticipated Yuichi's move and dodged each one while giving Yuichi a big Bloodthirsty Grin on his face. Yuichi didn't know if he could win against this opponent but he knew for sure that he had to end this soon, so he stopped playing around and got serious. Yuichi clenched his teeth and unleashed hell upon Kaiser by unleashing an onslaught of kicks and slashes from all sorts of angles.
Kaiser looked calm as he kept taking some hits but none of them prove fatal until it looked like Yuichi had enough and fired one shot from his pistol. Kaiser saw his chance at an opening in Yuichi's defense as he dodged it and stabbed at Yuichi's chest. Yuichi caught the knife with his bare hands as to stop it from piercing his heart, but he and Kaiser were now stuck in a deadlock, as they knew if one of them relented, one of them would take this chance to kill the other.
The two men stared each other down for several long moments before Yuichi grinned at Kaiser.
"So, this is your true strength, huh? You have some real fight in you."
"Likewise, punk. It's been years since I've met such a tough guy."
"While I am good at what I do, even I know my limits. Tell me are you stronger than the strongest of demons?" Yuichi said as he struggled to keep the knife from entering him, "Humans can't possibly win against the Dark World or it's legions... So why struggle... why suffer needlessly against the inevitable?"
Kaiser chuckled and put more pressure on the knife, causing Yuichi to groan and give a forced smile. "Yeah, sure, for some there's no way for a human to beat the demons power or corruption. I know don't have chance in hell of beating the Dark World on my own, but even if there's no hope for me to beat you or the Demons, I still have to try... Because unlike you, I'm not just some weakling who is concerned with the what if's or what not's." Kaiser gave Yuichi a confident smile. "IF ONE MUST FIGHT, THEN THEY MUST FIGHT OR BE VANQUISHED!"
Kaiser roared as, with one final push, he drove the knife into Yuichi's gut. Yuichi gave a pained gasp as he dropped his guns and stared down at the blood seeping out of his chest and onto the rooftop. Kaiser looked over at him with a sad smile plastered across his face as he placed a hand on Yuichi on the shoulder.
"It's not in my nature to run away from the truth or from the inevitable. Your right about me enjoying bloodshed and battle, but unlike you, I have something more. People who are worth dying for. I guess this is goodbye, Yuichi."
Blood pooled underneath Yuichi's body as he tried to stop it by placing his hands on the wound. He gritted his teeth as he clenched his fist, with Kaiser looking down on him with pity as he too could've ended up like Yuichi.
"You ask, why do humans always fight against the inevitable?" Kaiser said, shaking his head, "Because... nothing is set in stone. Humans will rage against the dying light as they fight to the bitter end towards the night."
Before Yuichi could even think to reply, his vision began to darken around the edges as the Devil's Breath began to wear off. With his fading consciousness, Yuichi could barely make out Kaiser's form walking away from him as he left alone on the rooftop. As Kaiser walked away, the building shook as an explosion began to go off. Kaiser remembered the time limit as the bullet must have gone off and ignited the gas. It wasn't long before the entire place blew up with him still on the rooftop.
The ground gave way as though Divine Providence, Karma sought to claim The Beast, who had once terrorized Tokyo for so long.
A burning sensation shot through Yuichi as he felt the skin around his body begin to melt away from the intense heat of the inferno that he was falling into. If this was death, then it wasn't what Yuichi imagined at all. He knew that his life was slowly slipping away from him, but oddly enough, he didn't feel afraid or even sad. Yuichi looked up into the night sky, the smoke now surrounding him, as the Moon looked down on him as if to mock him to the very end. He smiled as he knew that his time had come; he was at least happy that someone like Katsuo—no, someone like Kaiser—came by and granted him the fight and death he so desired. As his thoughts faded into Darkness, Yuichi wondered that maybe in a different life, he and Katsu—no, he and Kaiser—could've been Buddies or perhaps brothers.
Kaiser looked around the rooftop to see if there was anywhere for him to escape, but he was stuck on the rooftop of the now-exploding building. Kaiser looked for an escape route but couldn't find one until he peered on the side of the building and saw a trash container filled with garbage near it.
Kaiser knew his plan was crazy, but he had to try or else be burned alive in this collapsing death trap. Without hesitation, he threw himself off the edge of the roof and fell onto the pile of garbage and debris as it cushioned most of his fall. The impact of his landing forced the metal container to rattle and shake violently as he lost consciousness when the warehouse roof collapsed completely on top of him, burying him into darkness. A loud scream filled the air and echoed throughout the city as the explosions continued throughout the night.
As police and firefighters quarantined the area as a burning "abandon building" was crumbling.
Kamimura Azuma was among the bystanders watching and hoping that Kaiser made it out, as it seems that there were no survivors. Later after the explosion, all the news stations mention how all the residents in this neighbourhood just saw a building being destroyed along with the block that surrounded it, as most knew it was a drug den of some crime syndicate. As soon as word spread about the building/drug den being blown up, everyone went back to their business, as such things were common in the crime-ridden slums of Tokyo.
Kamimura waited with baited breath and saw the ruins of the destroyed building but no Kaiser. As the fighter fires tried to control the fire, a lone figure who was out of sight stepped out with a dishevelled appearance.
"Fucking hell... that's the last time I jump off a burning building." Kaiser said as he limped out of the rumble, hoping to avoid the cops or, worse, the news reporters. Though luckily, he still had his cover of being a freelance reporter, so if they ask why he was here, Kaiser could simply brush them off by saying he was investigating a lead on a drug den and got caught in the blast. Someone called out to him, and Kaiser quickly hid in the shadows, not wanting anyone to recognise him at the moment as he wasn't in the mood for other reporters or authorities who wanted to ask him some questions. They weren't about to catch him like this, but from the shadows stood Kamimura, who stared at him speechless before she spoke up.
"You survived... I thought that you might have perished from that explosion and rumble."
Kaiser blinked in confusion and realised who it was. "Miss Kamimura?"
"Yes! That's me, cutie, but please call me Azuma." The Yankee vampire hunter said as she walked towards the young man, wondering how he survived as he looked so beat up with a trail of blood falling down his head.
"Well, I got lucky and jumped off the roof and into a dumpster that protected me from most of the blast and falling debris... but I wouldn't recommend it." Kaiser said jokingly.
As the firefighter fought to extinguish the fire, Kaiser knew he had to get out of there and figured now would be a good time since their attention was occupied at the moment . As he turned around, Kaiser gave his female companion a smirk. "Well, if you are going to ask for my number then..."
"Woah, slow down, Tiger. How about we get those drinks you promised first?" She interrupted and caught the young man off guard.
"Oh yeah...almost forgot about that, hehehe... alright, let's go get those drinks then?" Kaiser asked as his appearance was dirty and bloodied while his shirt was half way burned off showing of his chiselled chest and abs.
"Sure thing! But first, let's clean you up. Your clothes are all too messed up from all this blood and stuff." Azuma said with a slight giggle while looking at his clothing getting stained with blood. "Or should I say your lack of a wardrobe?"
"Huh...oh right... I got a hotel room nearby; mind if we stop by there first and get freshened up?" Kaiser asked as he gave his appearance a look over as he saw that he was dirty and bloodied while his shirt was hanging by a thread. He chuckled at her comment on his attire since it seemed that he could never seem to find anything other than tattered rags or worn-out clothing after his missions.
Azuma smiled and nodded at his request, as she didn't see why not, so the two decided to leave before police found them and asked questions. While they walked away, Kaiser stopped to grab something that he dropped on the ground but noticed that Azuma saw what it was as she looked like she wanted to say something, and so he let her speak.
"Hey...is that a hard drive?" Azuma asked curious.
"Oh this... yeah, but I need it to accomplish my mission." Kaiser stated as he put it away.
Azuma sighed, seeing that he was not going to explain himself. "Ok, well maybe some other time then," she said, hoping to get a response from him on the matter later but was met with silence as she realized that he was not going to divulge any more information on it.
A/N: And that's, that. Yuichi had the fight he always wanted from the person that he felt understood him the most but in the end he was just a person who was scared of the world.
