Chapter 15
Reflections in Blood for the Unforgiven.
Kaiser left the café and made his way back home as the Red Sun was setting into the mountains the sky was light with a orange and blood red blanket. As he was walking along the dirt path passing through the farmland fields towards his house, he spotted a little girl on the other side of the road who seemed to be crying while holding some sort of stuffed animal that she clutched tightly in her arms. Kaiser could feel himself being pulled over to where she was located by an invisible force; he couldn't explain exactly what that feeling meant as he felt something...familiar towards her. Kaiser then remembered when Yukikaze was a little girl that he need to protect her but this girl...he felt no such feeling. The urge to save someone that is in pain was always something that overwhelm his own senses as all he wanted to do was help someone who was reaching out but that young child... there was something wrong... something very wrong that his instincts screamed to him danger and he could not explain why it did.
"Hey princess...is everything okay?" He asked while crouching down beside her so they were eye level. "I heard you crying out here and thought maybe you needed some help." He continued, but then saw she was clutching something really tight into her arms, almost as if she were using it like a lifeline. She just stared back at him with her big emerald eyes and replied.
"My kitten fell down the drain!" She cried out as she pointed towards the storm drain ditch out in the fields that connected to Gosha Village irrigation system and water canals. Kaiser walked over to investigate to see if he could find the little girl's lost cat.
"Alright (sigh)...here kitty, kitty...come one lil' kitty...damn...cat." Kaiser called out as he tried to find the cat that was stuck in the drain pipe system as it was dark inside. As Kaiser was looking for the cat, his danger senses were warning him of an immediate threat.
"!"
Without even knowing why, he jumped back on instinct, narrowly avoiding a blade from what appeared to be a scythe.
'Aiming to kill, huh?' Kaiser thought to himself before counterattacking with his own Three-Barrel Revolver and firing three shots. He made direct contact with the assailant, whose little girl he was helping.
"Man, this day is really starting to suck... this all troublesome." Kaiser sighed as he faced the little girl. "Pretty nice disguise you got there...got a name, ya little shit?"
The little girl giggled as her appearance changed into a young-looking girl with pink ankle-long hair tied into twin tails with red eyes and wearing a simple white dress with cuffs and a collar.
"(Giggling) Hey, Mister, wanna play a game?" The girl asked as she summoned a blade made from her blood and shadow. "If you can keep me entertained, then I'll let you live as my plaything, but if you can't... well, I wonder what expression you'll make when I cut your head off... I hope it's a funny one because you look pretty ugly for a human."
The little girl's voice started to get creepy and dark before she disappeared into thin air.
Kaiser's eyes widen at this, but he knew his danger senses weren't lying about her being a serious threat, so he quickly reloaded his three-barrel revolver, loading in some "special" ammo into it.
"Wanna play? That's fine, I hate to disappoint, but...let's play a game called 'Scythe against Gun'...ready!?" Kaiser exclaimed as he fired his revolver right through her as he flipped a 500 yen coin. As the coin was flipping in the air, Kaiser shot at it as the 'Special' ammo wat was loaded ricochet off the coin hitting the girl but soon disappeared as it was only a shadow illusion. Kaiser continue to shoot at the girl as he was able to bounce his shots off the ground or on near by objects; even though they didn't hit their mark, he was able to see her silhouette by the burst of fanning fire.
"There you are..."
Kaiser growled out as he opened up on the girl with his three-barrel revolver, the bullets tearing through the young girl and breaking her illusion, as she dropped down to one knee in pain from his attack. Before she could recover, Kaiser grabbed the little girls by the head, squeezing as hard as he could without crushing her skull, and slammed her into the ground below him. With all his might, he made sure to stomp her hand, which held her scythe, until it broke along with the wrist that held it in sickening crunch. The young girl looked up at Kaiser in disbelief that a human was capable of this much strength as her own blood stained his shoe's red.
"Owwie, how rude, Mister. I was having so much fun too." The little girl groaned out in agony but refused to give into the pain from her lost limb. It was then that Kaiser's danger sense kicked into overdrive as he quickly jumped back as the blood underneath the girl turned into spears that would have near turned him into a pincushion. "Damn... I'm hoping you fall for that. Oh well, let's have more fun, Mister."
The girl's injuries began to heal almost instantly as her broken bones began to snap back into place with a sickening crunch.
"Ah Shit. This is going to take a while." Kaiser said as he readied himself for a tough fight.
In truth, though, he was quite excited for this new challenge, since not many beings can make him work hard for their lives. A sinister smile crept across his face as his blood boiled from the excitement of battle as his bloodlust began to surge.
He started to fire off shot after shot at the girl, trying to hit her multiple times with his revolver. She seemed to dance around the hail of lead, just dodging and weaving through the gunfire like a ballerina. Then, right before Kaiser could finish reloading, she sent a blade made of her own blood flying at him from her bleeding wrist. Luckily, he was able to jump back and avoid it by just a few inches as it left a deep gash on the ground; if he didn't have reflexes, he might not even have been able to dodge that last attack.
'She's definitely not someone I should let my guard down. One bad move and off with my head.' Kaiser thought to himself as he reloaded his gun.
The young girl laughed as she was having fun in this life-or-death battle.
"I want see you in pain. I want to see you bleed, broken and bruised. Please let me feel pleasure after I kill you now, Mister!."
Her laughter seemed to echo in his mind as a third blade made of blood appeared right behind him as it launched forward to miss him before it went around his back like boomerang. He didn't have time to even turn around before the blood blade impacted his back, as it knocked him off his feet as Kaiser tumbled into the ground as he fell down a hill and slammed into a tree so hard that it cracked on impact.
Blood gushed out of the wound on his back as his gun fell to the ground while he was down onto his knees.
"FFFFFFUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKK!" Kaiser yelled out as he gasped in pain.
The young girl looked at him with curiosity, wondering if he would keep fighting or stay down.
"HAHAHAHAAH. It looks like you're not dead, Mister. You look so funny right now. Mister show me more! I could easily cut off your head right now and show it to my Daddy!" She said as another set of blood blades appeared in her hand. "It's been fun, Mister but it's over, now die."
Kaiser just laughed again, but there was a dark tone to his laugh this time.
"You better finish me quickly ya fucking brat...because if you don't then... I'll tear you apart." Kaiser got back on his feet as he ignored the pain in his back, as a feeling he once thought was gone was slowly coming clawing its way back to him.
Rage...
"Heh, what are you going to do about it? Nothing can stop me. I'm stronger than anyone else here in the whole village!" As she walked closer, still confident of her victory, she didn't notice him begin to smirk as his eyes started to glow a bright red.
Bloodlust...
"Foolish stupid girl." The words left his lips, and it seemed like they were echoed by an otherworldly voice.
...Wrath
As the girl got within five meters of Kaiser, she suddenly felt an overwhelming amount of pressure as the human dog she was tormenting disappeared in one quick flash. She couldn't see Kaiser, but she could sense that he was getting closer to her with each passing second as he moved like a Hound on the Hunt. Without even turning around to look at him, the girl instantly knew he was standing right behind her. She started to feel uncomfortable as goosebumps broke out on her skin as cold shivers ran down her spine as her enjoyment from eariler was replace by something she was not used to... fear. Then, without warning, something hit her in the back so hard that it sent her flying through the air. It was like her body was hit by a huge truck.
The girl flew a couple hundred meters before crashing into the forest as she impacted one of the many trees that grew near Gosha Village. The impact left her nearly left her unconscious as she lay there unmoving.
Kaiser stood there still bleeding and panting from the massive effort it took on his bod to just strike at that little girl.
"Ha...Ha... Ha, whatever that was needs some more training for me to use it more effectively." He said, looking down at his hands as the flickered with faint crimson energy. Kaiser started to wonder what kind of power this was and what all of this meant. Why it was happening now? He didn't have time to think about it because he suddenly heard footsteps coming up behind him.
"You did well... I didn't think you'd awaken to that power so soon... This changes things."
A man in a business suit with white spiked back hair stepped into view. Kaiser immediately felt danger coming off in waves from this man as he felt that this was someone who he couldn't defeat just like Asagi, but that same feeling from before with her was now stronger than ever when it came from this man.
A rage and hatred that Kaiser has never felt before threaten to overtake his mind as it began to consume when he addresses the man in front of him.
"And who the fuck are you? Santa Claus?" Kasier said in a cocky and disrespectful tone as he grinded his teeth, barely keeping his anger in check. The man seemed amused by what Kaiser had to say but also like he wasn't surprised or annoyed in the least.
"No, I am not; however, I am happy to see you haven't forgotten about your instincts and have actually put this power to use already," the man said without showing any emotion at all on his face. "Kaiser Wrath, for my part in all of this well... I'm sorry to say, but it's time that we parted ways as it is not yet time for me to face you."
This statement instantly caused rage to explode out of Kaiser as he was instantly transformed into a berserker-like state as he charged at the man.
In his blind rage, a memory deep within Kaiser awakens. This memory was foreign yet familiar as it began to play out in his mind as time around him slowed down.
***A long-forgotten memory***
A memory of a distant battlefield, knights in advance suits of armor were fighting legions of demons in a war of apocalyptic proportions. The advanced technology and powers these Knights wielded defy the laws of physics, but the demon had numbers that seemed nearly endless. These two sides showed no mercy towards one another, and no quarter was even given. This was a war of extinction, as only one will survive while the other will become a memory.
Throughout the battle, a single knight was seen rallying his fellows to join him in pushing the demons back in a desperate stand. This lone knight's armor was more flourished with damages and scratches, but it still shines with dignity and grace as it seemed that this Knight was of significant Rank. This knight faced off against another being in black armor as they held their swords in front of each other, ready to duel to death.
"BLACK! You bastard! This day is ours; retreat now, and I may let you take your wounded with you, but if you decide to stand and fight, then their lives are forfeit. Black, surely you must value your comrades lives to concede defeat for their sakes." The Knight was a man of honor and mercy, traits that seem valued in a benevolent ruler who sought the best for all... but he was not facing against an enemy who valued such things or anyone's lives for that matter.
Black pointed his blade towards the knight, who has done his best to use the lives of thousands under him as they were all pawns to his ambitions.
"How bold of you to claim that these soldiers have any worth outside of this battlefield, the only life I care about is mine; even then, I would gladly sacrifice them if it meant that my mission here was a success."
With those cold words, Black lunged at his foe. Both men met with their blades clashing in between them. Their might was like two raging storms crashing together. The clash echoed throughout the battlefield, and every knight could see that this was not going to end until one of them fell.
"BLACK! YOU RUTHLESS, HEARTLESS, BASTARD! YOU WOULD CONDEMN THOUSANDS FOR YOUR OWN SELFISH GAINS!" The knight yelled as he locked swords with the armored demon. "Fine then! Let it be said that I, Ryzer Dal'Rathas, Prince of Luxaude and Chief Commander of the Validusverð Knights, have given you, Edwin Black, a fair chance at mercy. Now fall here and now to my blade, Foul Vampire!"
With those last words, Ryzer swung downwards towards Black, forcing the vampire to block the powerful blow.
A sinister chuckle came from within Black's helm as he deflected his opponent's sword away.
"If you wanted to talk your way out of this, then you should have just stayed quiet...MUHAHAHA!" Black charged forward, forcing Ryzer on the defensive. This duel would take place under the dark light of a crimson moon bathing the land with its madness as there was no ideals, no just cause or even goals...there was only Slaughter. Both men had the same idea in mind: they were both going to win at all costs, even if that meant killing their enemy to the last warrior.
As the battle raged on, it had seemed that the demons had lost, but not before exacting their revenge by killing many Knights of the Validusverð Order. The black-armored vampire left with his retreating army, but not before looking at the knight, who was barely standing.
"Not bad—not bad at all for a Livorigem Human. I must say you're the first to ever push me this far or draw my blood. You are quite skilled, Ryzer." Edwin Black said as he turned his back on the knight.
"BLACK! GET BACK HERE, YOU WHORESON! WE ARE NOT DONE HERE!" The knight howled at him as Black escaped with his army. "BLACK! BBBBBLLLLLAAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKK!"
***End of the Memory***
Kaiser charged at the man as he screamed his name, "BBBBBBBLLLLLLLAAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKK!"
The man in question had a surprised look on his face as Kaiser ran towards him.
"Oh my... have you regained your memories?" Hmm, no, maybe only a fragment or glimpse of the past. Well, it matters not."
The man known as Edwin Black, Vampire King of the Dark World, held out his hand as great force pushed Kaiser back into a tree as he was being crushed by the force. As Kaiser was then lifted into the twilight sky he was then brought back down to the ground as though he was but a rag doll. This continued as Kaiser was thrown and crushed as his bones were broken and his flesh was rend but still he remained... Unbroken.
"I see your body is as tough as ever." Black started to laugh Kaiser as he said while looking down at the beaten and wounded Taimanin.
With effort and grit, Kaiser stood up and faced Black, staring deep into the vampire's eyes.
"Who are you?...and what do you want from me?"
"My name...well, I suppose you are worthy of that...at least in the past you were. Remember my name, human; I am Edwin Black, Vampire King of House Black, and what I want... Your death, for starters but most important the Secrets to Kermesanima."
The vampire replied with an evil smile on his face, but before he could enact his final act on the young Taimanin, voices in the distance were heard.
"The demonic presence is over here quickly now."
As Edwin heard the voices getting closer, he decided to cut his meeting short before the Taimanin reinforcements came.
"It seems our fight will have to be for another time... I see that you are calling yourself Kaiser Wrath now... appropriate considering our past together, but for now I have come to pick up my daughter...until next time... Kaiser Wrath." As Edwin said, this portal of darkness opened as he and his daughter walked into the darkness, but not before the girl that Kaiser fought earlier waved goodbye at him as she smiled.
"Maybe next time I'll be able to kill you, Mister... don't go dying before then...because your mine." and with that she followed after her father as the portal closed, leaving Kaiser by himself in the forest by himself wounded.
Kaiser stood in a daze from what happened as his brain processed everything that had happened over the past few hours. He looked at the trees all around him, trying to make sense of his memories. His body brusied with multiple fractures was nearing the breaking point with him wanting to sit down for a moment before he was greeted by Sakura and Murasaki, as well as his mother, Shiranui, and finally the Leader of the Taimanin, Asagi Igawa.
"Wrath-san!? What happened here? My God, Kaiser! You're hurt and rather badly." Asagi observed an injured Kaiser who was bloodied and bruised with assassin's blood blades stuck in his back.
"KAI! My Beautiful Baby Boy! WHO DID THIS TO YOU, SWEETIE?" Shiranui panicked as she ran over to Kaiser checking his back and body as well as trying to comfort him. "Oh my, this looks painful, baby. Don't worry, honey, I'll make sure you get the best medical care possible."
"Mama, I'm fine; it's just a scratch; I'm not dying; just got roughed up a bit." Kaiser said as he tried to stand up but stumbled back down as he felt a couple of his ribs were broken.
"Just a scratch, he says... Kami-sama, Kai-kun, whoever did this did more than just 'rough' you up; they did a number on you... Murasaki-chan, go get the medics, please, and hurry." Sakura observed Kaiser's wounds as suspected, some broken bones on top of his lacerations.
"Right away...Mr. Wrath...don't go dying yet; remember you promised me to have dinner at my place. Okay..." Murasaki said as she saw one of her best students in bad shape.
"Hehehe...don't worry, sensei, I wouldn't give you that satisfaction." Kaiser said as he chuckled before Murasaki left to grab her problematic student some medical attention.
"Kaiser, you have to tell me what happened here. We all felt massive demonic energy in the area and pin pointed it here. What happened?"
Kaiser sighed as he began to explain that after he left the café that Kirara was working at, he was making his way back home when he ran into a little girl who was crying about her lost cat. Kaiser was helping look for the cat when she attacked him, as she shed her disguise and they were to fight. Their battle was taken into the forest, and from there she was able to wound him as she was extremely durable and strong.
"Not to mention she was batshit insane... Like she was really crazy, I swear if I see her again I'll keep her at a distance if there one thing I know is that you don't fuck with crazy." Asagi and Sakura looked at Kaiser with a serious look before Shiranui decided to ask a question. "Sweetie, was she the cause for that demon power we all felt?"
"No, Mama, she was strong and crazy but not that powerful. No, the one who had that crazy demonic power was some other dude who stepped in when I punched that little psycho into the ground. I could tell from his presence alone that he was strong—like super strong. I felt danger just by looking at him." Kaiser as he remembers his encounter with Edwin Black.
"Did he tell you his name or who he was?" Sakura asked curiously, as she was concerned as to who this mystery man was that gave even a hot head like Kaiser some hesitation to fight.
"Hmm. He said his name was...Edwin Black." As Kaiser said that name, everyone went silent.
Shiranui's face turned pale as Sakura had a shocked look on her face, but the one who was affected the most upon hearing the name was Asagi, who had a serious and stern look on her face.
"Kaiser... I want you to be serious with me. Are you sure that man said his name was Edwin Black? I need you to be as accurate as possible and tell me every little detail that you can remember as best as you can." Asagi said as her eyes were completely focused on Kaiser.
"Uhh... yeah, I mean, the dude had an ego on him that made mine look humble in comparison, as well as calling himself the "Vampire King." He has white spiked back hair and black eyes; he appeared to be tall and middle-aged with a brown suit on... but I can't shake this feeling... like...we met before... I really hated the guy, but... it felt like I had this grudge against him for a long time. Anyway, why are you so scared of this prick?" Kaiser asked, not knowing the implication of the question, as Sakura looked down, clenching her fist, as Shiranui looked at Asagi with concern as the woman herself had an undiscernible look on her face as she stood there in complete silence. "What's going on here? ...There's no way a douchebag like this black guy is that big of a deal... right?"
"Kaiser uhh..." Sakura tried to answer his question but was stopped by Asagi before she decided to speak.
"What I'm about to tell you will not be spoken again, nor will it leave this place... Is that understood, Kaiser Wrath? I am serious." Asagi said with a tone that left no room for arguments.
"I guess this is serious... (sigh) fine. I promise to not talk about this to anyone. So who is this Edwin Black Guy?" Kaiser said in a serious tone that it surprised Sakura and made Shiranui nervous that her son was now getting involved in serious matters beyond her control.
"Tell me, Kaiser, do you know of an organization known as NOMAD?" Asagi asked as she stared at Kaiser eye to eye.
"Yeah, they're some big shot multinational corpo. They do humanitarian and egalitarian shit, but other than that, no." Kaiser said as he lay there waiting for Asagi's response.
"Well, on the outside, they are considered altruistic in their goals, but the real intent is much darker. NOMAD is using the technology of the demon realm itself to create chaos and corruption here on earth. Nomad makes money with illegal fighting arenas and weapon sales, and their CEO is none other than Edwin Black." Asagi said grimly.
"(Whistle) Now that is a bombshell reveal, but so what? Some asshole who runs a corrupt company is nothing new; what makes this guy so special?" Kaiser said ignorantly.
"Because Wrath... The end goal of Nomad and Edwin Black is total destruction of the old world and rebirth into a new age of demons. The group will ally with any organization or nation that might give it a temporary advantage. Specially, certain parts of the UFS are pro-Nomad in the hope of gaining more Hell technology. Black's approach here, unlike other Demon Nobles that wish to rule, has been rather subtle, using money and political influence instead of brute force." Asagi explained as Kaiser started to realize what he had gotten himself into.
"Ahh Shit...great, so I just got the attention of the world's biggest megalomaniac with a god complex of wanting to destroy the human world... fucking great... just fucking great. So, guy is a demon whose got a penchant for destabilizing crap... is he strong?" Kaiser asks as Asagi immediately got in his face with an angry look on her.
"KAISER! Whatever thoughts you have going on in your head end immediately... you are not going after Nomad nor Edwin Black." Asagi said through gritted teeth.
"And what let some cartoon lunatic run around with an evil secret organization to fuck things up! Yeah, no, not going to happen on my watch. Tell me how long until that fucking psycho decides he doesn't want to play nice anymore and bare all his resources in destroying Gosha Village or the world for that matter!" Kaiser fired back, unwilling to back down from the strongest Taimanin there is.
"Because we have tried everything to take down NOMAD and Black, all attempts failed. They have so much influence over the Japanese-UFS governments and even the Chinese Union. Officially, as they hide their criminal activity very well, they cannot be attacked directly by the Taimanin. There are some factions inside the UFS that support or fight against Nomad as well, as the group has strong connections to America, so even trying to investigate them will result in nothing but red tape and stalling until they take care of that nuisance. The Taimanin are still under the Japanese government, and anything that could expose us, Nomad will use the government to get Gosha Village shut down and the Taimanin to be decommissioned... So you better listen and listen well, Boy," Asagi said in a harsh tone as she grabbed Kaiser by his torn shirt's collar as she brought his face close to her's. "You are not going to go and pick a fight with them. The Elders overlooked your insubordination last time because of your mother and the other clans sticking up for you, but I will assure you that if you pick a fight with Edwin Black... you're going to lose more than just your life... you could lose your entire family too."
Asagi with finality as she let go of Kaiser's collar and let him drop back down.
"Nee-san..." Sakura said solemnly while Shiranui stayed silent.
Kaiser lay quietly before he decided to speak again. "So he's that strong, huh...and judging by your reaction, he must have hurt you bad...really bad...?" Kaiser said as Asagi and Sakura gave him a surprise look. "What? ...Look, I may be stupid when it comes to social stuff, and I'm not good with reading the room, but even I know when someone is hurting or scared... fine, I won't try to take on NOMAD or that Douche Bag, Edwin Black."
Asagi let out a sigh of relief as she gave Kaiser a look of understanding on her, which made what she was about to do next difficult.
"Thank you, Kai-kun... I know you want to protect Gosha Village and your family from NOMAD, and trust me, I too want to kill that bastard Black with all of my heart, but we can't be foolish. They have agents everywhere, and their reach extends far. They are masters at deception and know how to circumvent the legality of laws in place, but we will catch them in the act one day, and when that day comes, I want you beside me, ready and able to fight Black... together." Asagi said as she gave Kaiser a soft but reassuring smile. "Which is why what I am about to do next will be something you will not like."
"Huh?"
That was all Kaiser could say before Asagi threw a tranquilizer dart being injected on his shoulder.
"Ouch! The fuck Asagi!" Kaiser yelled as he glared at Asagi.
"I'm sorry to do this, Wrath-san, but as of now you are being taken off of active duty and will be placed under house arrest. You will have a veteran or teacher chaperon with you at all times until further notice... I'm sorry that this isn't what you wanted, but Black has taken an interest in you like he did with me, and knowing him, I don't want to take any chances... I hope you can forgive me for this." Asagi had a look of regret on her face, but she knew this was the only way to assure Kaiser's safety and security.
"FUCK THAT! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME, YOU BTICH! WHO ARE YOU TO KEEP ME...HERE...AS...A...prison...ner...this...is...such...bull...shit?" Kaiser was starting to feel woozy from the tranquilizer. "Fuck...You...Cunt..."
With his final action Kaiser flipped Asagi the bird as he fell asleep.
"Really, Nee-san...(sigh), you know that is a bit extreme even for you to do that to Kaiser." Sakura said she looked at Asagi with disappointment, but it was nothing compared to Shiranui, who took out her Naginata and pointed directly at Asagi's throat.
"Asagi, you have 10 seconds to explain to me why you drugged my son and why you decided to treat him like a criminal. No lies, because I am fighting right now between being a concerned mother and being a Taimanin." Siranui said coldly as all emotion left her eyes as her son lay unconscious next to her.
"Shira-san, I don't blame you for being upset or mad, but I will need you to put down your weapon. We have spies everywhere, including those on our side, and therefore we need to be very cautious and take this to a more secure place, especially with Kaiser here. I don't want NOMAD's people hearing us." Asagi replied, looking at Shiranui's Naginata, still pointed at her throat.
"The only reason I haven't taken your head right now is because of our friendship, but right now you are really putting it to the test, so I want answers now." Shiranui said as tone left no room for a debate.
"(Sigh)...Black never does anything without reason and the fact that he showed up here, in Gosha Village, the home of people that are willing to kill him just for your son...He has plans for him and will do anything to see those plans come into fruition. I know this personally after I lose my fiancé to Oboro... Shiranui, I don't want you to go through that kind of pain after losing your husband. Could you bear to see anything happen to your son too?" Asagi as calmly as she gave Shiranui a sympathetic look.
Shiranui stared hard at Asagi, trying to pierce her soul with her stare, but soon enough let out a deep sigh, lowering the Naginata down and resting it on the floor before putting her hands over her face. "If something were to happen to Kaiser... it wouldn't just destroy me, but it would destroy Yukikaze too! Even if they both aren't blood-related, Yukikaze looks up to Kaiser as her older brother and would never be the same if she lost someone so dear to her! Do you understand that?"
Asagi gave a sigh of relief at Shiranui's reaction and had a slight smile form on her face. "Yeah... I do understand how you feel, which is why we need to keep a close eye on him. The Elders would use any excuse to get rid of your son, and I would rather not give them a reason to."
"So, what does Black want with my son anyway?" How is he connected to Black?" She asked once again in an annoyed voice.
"To be honest...I don't know... if we had an idea what Edwin wants from Kaiser, we would use it to our advantage to take him down, but for now we have to wait and see what his next move is... I will try my best to keep your son safe, but even with me looking out for your son, you can never fully predict Black's movements, and he seems to be in league with or manipulating people who may know something we don't." Asagi said as Shiranui seemed to have calmed down. This put some suspicion about Shiranui and her adopted son's relationship, as Asagi had never seen Shiranui act so irrationally before; it was as if... no thoughts like those were none of her business.
Shiranui felt conflicted as she knew that she was being unreasonable, but whenever she saw her son in distress, her maternal instincts kicked in, and she wanted to comfort her baby boy, but she knew that Asagi was right. Edwin Black was a serious threat and mortal enemy to Mankind and the Taimanin after what he did during the Koukawa Massacre and what he had done to Asagi personally. She knew that the vampire was devious, strong, manipulative, and a schemer who had contingencies to his plans.
"...Fine. I don't like this, but..." Shiranui looked back to her son, who was snoring loudly and had a small bit of drool coming off from the side of his mouth. "Nothing is worse than the pain that a mother feels when she sees her own children get hurt in front of her. No parent should have to bury their child." Shiranui vowed to protect her children, even if it meant taking their freedom away.
As the two women agreed on what to do with Kaiser, Sakura joked around, saying that Kaiser was sure popular with the girls and what this meant for Kotaro. Both women shot a glare at the younger Igawa as she kept her mouth shut as Murasaki had arrived with a medical team, who then proceeded to treat Kaiser's wounds.
A/N: Ooof, that's rough for Kaiser of getting your ass kicked and being in big trouble...again, but hey what else do you expect when facing off against a Multiverse, Dimension-Jumping, Immortal Vampire who can control gravity and apparently has a god-complex. I wanted to sprinkle in some of OC's lore as well as a mixture of Latin, Old English, and Norse languages to give it a unique feel to Kaiser's pasts. So what will happen to our protagonist and what will his fate entail now that gears are set in motion. find out in the next chapter.
Chapter 16
Barking up the Wrong Dog... or Evil Secret Organization?
