Taimanin Part II
Chapter 17
May The Heavens Smite Those Who Dare Coveted The Oniichan
***Back at the Classroom***
The students had finished their training exercise as Kotaro and team were the only ones who passed with flying colors as as Kaiser's team barely passed. Everyone was listening to Sakura's lecture on aerodynamics and operational infiltration theory as Kotaro was focused on others things, more specifically on his partner and second-in-command. What happened during the training simulation was not how Kaiser would have done things even more so with someone one like Momoka ordering him around. If there is one thing that Kotaro knew for a fact is that Kaiser listens to nobody who isn't him, his family, Asagi, or anyone who hasn't earned his trust, and Momoka has definitely has not earned any of Kaiser's trust or respect.
So the big question is... Why?
Why did Kaiser let someone like Momoka treat him like...like...
Kotaro clenched his teeth as he couldn't imagine someone like as proud free as Kaiser be dragged down to such level. Kotaro knew something was up with him and Momoka as the young man begant go over analyze everything he could possibly know in his head as another was worry to about the wayward warrior.
Yukikaze was sitting at her desk as she couldn't believe what she had saw during the training simulation. To see her beloved older brother be hurt and insulted like that, to see everyone who had once praise her older brother now speak ill of him. None of it made sense to Yukikaze as her brother was someone who was strong and never falter in the face of adversity but after seeing him be treat like a stranger and even a... outcast, it made her realize something.
Yukikaze's eyes drifted towards the heir of the Fuma Clan.
Maybe her brother and Kotaro... maybe they weren't so different after all.
The bell rang signaling the class that has ended and that the start of the lunch break as everyone got up and began to gather in their friend groups and cliques as they left the classroom. The only left were Kotaro and his friends along with Yukikaze as they remained at their desks.
"Umm... Ser Fuma?"
Kotaro was taken out of his thoughts as he looked up to the see the concerned face of Sharon Orleans who was Kaiser's teammate during the training simulation.
"Uhh...Sharon right?" Kotaro asks as she gave a her a disarming smile. "How can I help you?"
Sharon fiddle with the hems of her school uniform skirt as she was internally debating whether or not she should confide in Kotaro until finally she decided to put faith in the young man for the sake her lord.
"Ser Fuma umm...You are close to Ser Wrath, correct?" Sharon asked as she sounded nervous. "Could you please talk to him and convince him to stop seeing that witch!" Sharon said the last part a bit louder than what she had meant to be which cause both Shikanosuke Uehara and Hebiko Aishu to overhear her statement and give a look of disbelief to the American transfer student.
"Please, I cannot bear to see my lord in such a pitiful state anymore." Tears began to well up in her eyes. "I know it is not my place to interfere in the relationship between Ser Wrath and his personal life, but this is different. That woman is using something to manipulate him like some kind of... pet."
Kotaro listened to Sharon as he was trying to piece together everything she said to confirmed that his friends was in trouble.
"What makes you say that, Sharon?" Kotaro questions as he needed more information, however small, to help him piece together a most likely scenario.
"Well... umm I don't know what exactly but I know that Ser Wrath is not the kind of man to allow someone like... Momoka to order him around." Sharon explains to the best of her abilities. She knows that if anyone can get to the bottom of the mystery is the heir to the Fuma Clan, Kotaro. Even though the young man was not the brightest bulb in the shed, Kotaro was a very resourceful and determined individual once he set his mind to doing anything.
"Then was the anything you can remember that was out of the ordinary between Kaiser and Momoka?" Kotaro asks. "Anything at all that may have caused the change in their dynamic."
Sharon thought long and hard before her eyes widen and she remembered an important detail. "Yes, I remember that before we started the simulation Momoka showed something on her phone to Ser Wrath when he was about to protest..."
"What did She show him?" Kotaro asks with his interest peaked. He was so caught up in his conversation with Sharon that the Young Fuma failed to notice that his two teammates were eavesdropping on the conversation as they were just as curious on the current situation that their friend was in and wanted to help too. They both had their reasons for wanting to save their mutual comrade but it mostly revolved around the fact that they owed their friend a great deal of gratitude.
"I'm sorry I couldn't see it but whatever it was it made Ser Wrath hold his tongue and let that Witch run all over him." Sharon said apologetically. "All I know is that it must have been something important enough that my lord has not told anyone else."
Kotaro nodded his head in understanding and gave the girl a soft smile. The young Fuuma then grabbed Sharon's hands gently. "Thank you, this is very helpful information that can aid me in finding out the source of the problem. You can count on me to get to the bottom of this and bring back our friend." He vowed to the grateful woman.
Sharon smiled at the man and thanked him before turning to leave. However, she turned around one last time to say.
"Please... help My Lord...Kai... Kai is a good man deep down, regardless of what everyone else might say I know that Ser Wrath has the heart of a Noble and Honorable Knight." Sharon pleaded to the Taimanin as her eyes began to well up with tears.
Kotaro was taken aback by how sincere the young girl was being but the honesty in her voice moved him to reassure her that everything would work out in the end.
"We'll get to the bottom of this Sharon... I promise." Kotaro said softly to the Knight, who was touched by her kindness. She gave him a shy smile, that was only seen once in a blue moon, which made the young Fuma blush and turn away from her to hide his own red face.
"Thank you, Ser Fuma."
"It's no problem at all." the boy replied, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
Sharon left as Kotaro and his friends were the only ones left in the classroom as the young Fuma Heir was thinking what he can do to help his troubled friend.
"Fuma-chan... Do have any idea on why Wrath-kun has been acting differently?" Hebiko asked. The young Taimanin had a worried look in her eyes. It was obvious to him that she was concerned about their friend's strange behavior and wanted to help in some way possible. That was just like her; always willing to lend a helping hand no matter who it was or what the situation might be. Kotaro admired this trait of hers.
Of course, that didn't mean that Hebiko or Kaiser got along perfectly, on the contrary, they tended to butt heads quite often, but their arguments usually ended up being resolved quickly thanks to their mutual respect and trust in one another. They were good friends despite their differences and disagreements.
"Yeah is Kaiser... is he in some kind of trouble?" Shikanosuke asks worryingly. Shikanosuke was also very concerned for their comrade in arms and dear friend. His face was full of worry lines as all of them trusted their leader to take care of whatever problems may arise, and when something went wrong, it was natural for everyone to come together and work things out. Afterall, a Taimanin's strength comes from the unity between comrades. At least that's what the teachers in class taught, and the three knew firsthand how true those words were. Without cooperation, the entire mission would fall apart. And right now, their mission was to save their teammate and fellow student from whatever it is that was troubling him.
"Don't worry guys, nobody messes with our friend and comrade." Kotaro said with confidence as Hebiko and Shikanosuke nod in agreement, knowing that there was nothing to fear when they stuck by each other's sides. As long as they had one another, no matter what dangers lay ahead, the trio was confident that their bonds would see them through. That was just the way of the Taimanin: stick together or die alone.
With a renewed determination in his heart, Kotaro made up his mind. He would help his friend and find a solution to the problem.
"Hey Fum...I mean, Kotaro...my Oniichan... umm... is my Oniichan...okay?" Yukikaze asks hesitantly as she looked down. Yukikaze knew that she was the last person the Fuma Heir wanted to talk to. Yukikaze was worried that Kotaro would tell her off but instead she fell a gentle hand on her shoulder which caused her to look up at the face of the young man standing in front of her. His expression was warm, comforting and caring, and his eyes shone with kindness and understanding. It was clear to her that he meant her no harm or ill will whatsoever. In fact, it seemed like the exact opposite; that his intentions were to comfort and reassure her.
This surprised Yukikaze greatly, considering how cold and distant she acted towards him before this moment. Maybe there really wasn't anything to worry about after all, she thought to herself hopefully. A smile spread across her lips as she felt relieved and happy at the same time.
As Kotaro and his friend headed out to lunch a fire ninja from the Fuma Clan called out to Kotaro. The fire Ninja approach Kotaro from behind as he was followed by his subordinates and they did not seem too friendly.
"Hey, Fuma... come with us for a while." The fire ninja said as his tone did not leave any room for debate.
Kotaro noticed that these ninja were Gaiza's subordinates in school. However, it didn't seem like they didn't joined in the rebellion.
"We're about to go have lunch. What business do you have with Fuma-chan to force him to go with you like that?" Hebiko contested as she stood in front of Kotaro.
"We don't have business with, octopus girl. Get lost." The fire ninja said in an aggressive tone.
Hebiko did not appreciate being called an octopus and got mad at the remark.
"Haa? Are you looking for trouble? I'll cover you with ink!" Hebiko threatened as she got in the fire ninja's face. "When I'm hungry, I can spit out more than usual too!"
"Ku... We have business with this guy, the Fuma clan leader. As part of the clan, aren't we allowed to talk with the leader!?" The Fire ninja fired back as he backs away from Hebiko.
The ninja's attitude had changed when threaten with Hebiko's ink, which was pretty (in)famous throughout the Fuma clan after all.
"Speak with the leader, huh? Well, from the look on your faces, I'm guessing it's not a fun topic... Fine, I'll play along. You want to me alone, don't you?" Kotaro replied in a nonchalant manner. He looked at his friends who were ready to defend him if things went south. "It's alright. Go have lunch without me. If I get beaten up to badly, please come and find my corpse later."
"Yeah. Come with me" The fire ninja said as Kotaro followed behind him him.
Yukikaze eyes were looking at Kotaro's back as the young man went with the fire ninja. Her expression unlike Hebiko and Shikanosuke, meant more to say 'Hmm, interesting.' Rather than express a worried sentiment.
***Gosha Academy Pool***
With that, Kotaro walked away, followed by Gaiza's henchmen. Once they were far enough from the main school grounds and were at the school's poolside, the four fire ninja cornered Kotaro. The atmosphere was tense, like before a fight, but the young man remained relaxed, waiting for what was coming. His composure just pissed off the other Taimanins even more.
"You're a fire manipulator, right? Why did you bring me here?" Kotaro asked casually as the others were losing their patience. "Did you want your leader to teach you how to swim? I'm sorry to tell you I'm not that good at swimming, alright?"
Kotaro smirked as he was taking a page out of Kaiser's book in how to piss people off.
"So what business do you have with me?" Kotaro asks as he figure there was no point in prolonging this discussion any further as he had other more important things to take care of.
"As the leader, don't you have anything to say?" The fire ninja said as he had his arms cross as his tone did not recognize Kotaro as his leader.
"As the leader?" Kotaro question in a confused manner at the accusation of the Fire Ninja. He had to admit that was a new one on him since it came out of nowhere. Still, the fact that the fire users were the subordinates of Gaiza, the guy that had tried to kill him, made him somewhat anxious to not offend them. But, once again, the fire user was not being helpful in letting him know what they wanted.
"Because of the Gaiza rebellion, our clan's reputation has fallen. So what do you plan to do with the Fuma clan now?" The fire ninja asked.
"Before I do anything else, first, I'll have to track and capture Gaiza, I guess." Kotaro replied. After all, the young man did not have any concrete plans regarding the Fuma Clan. Still, he could understand their worries, especially after the whole mess his childhood friend had caused for everyone in the academy, not to mention his own issues.
"That's an order from the higher ups. An order from the Taimanin. What we want to know is that , as a Fuma, the leader and the person in charge of recovering the clan's reputation, aren't you thinking of any plan or something!?" The fire ninja asks in frustration which was shared by his fellow followers of Gaiza.
"Even if I tell you that, it's not like you guys are going to follow my orders...?" Kotaro said in a sarcastic manner that made the other ninjas angry, but there was nothing wrong in his response. " So, why don't you go ahead and change your allegiance then?"
Kotaro knew these guys would never follow him and were opportunist at best... it made Kotaro miss his best friend's presence and words. With Kaiser at least you knew were you stand with him as he would tell it to you straight with no hint of deception in his intentions. Kotaro counted himself lucky that he had the trust and friendship of such a person.
"Tch'..." The fire ninja clicked his tongue appearing to be tried of the young Heir's ramblings. "It's only because you're like this... I guess we were right to follow Gaiza then."
"What did you say?" Kotaro glared at his subordinates for insulting him and his leadership. This is not missed by the other Fuma Clan members, who are shocked that the timid and gentle heir was capable of displaying such anger. It was the first time that Kotaro ever shown his emotions in a way that was so aggressive, and they had to wonder if the rumors that his personality had changed recently were true. Even then this did not stop the fire ninja from voicing his complaints to the younger Fuuma.
"For us proud Fumas to live in a village like this, do you even know how suppressed and ashamed we are!?" the fire ninja yelled. "And yet, the leader of the clan doesn't have any plan, and just follows the orders from the higher ups. What the hell can we expect from him?!"
If the others hadn't held him back, the Fire Ninja would have attacked the boy in front of him with his own fists. Although his body shook in rage, his eyes still reflected the hatred he had for the young man. It was a feeling that had slowly been growing within him, and which was shared by many of his companions in the academy. This causes the others to agree and chant their former leaders name, Gaiza. It appears that they still believe in that man, even though he was a failure. But, once again, the new Fuma leader could understand where his subordinates were coming from, especially when it came to the topic of the family's reputation in the eyes of the other clans, including the Igawa and Mizuki factions, who had a certain level of power in the academy and in the government.
"Good grief... So, what do you want me to do about it?" Kotaro asked the other clansman in an annoyed manner that surprised the older clansman. "How naive. Even if I joined the rebellion, we'd probably ended up dead."
"What did you say!?" The fire user was furious. His hands ignited, ready to attack. However, he was stopped again by the other Fuma Ninjas, but they were, looking at him, as if they were waiting to hear his answer.
"You fucking heard me, shit for brains... I was there... I saw so many lives of comrades and people who had a bright futures ahead of them were cut short... Kaiser was right in that Fuma needed to let go of their useless pride and to for us to move forward. Gaiza was a fool who accepted a deal with a demon and attack his own comrades. The fact that an Outsider like Kaiser trust me more than my own clan tells me that I was right to listen to him." Kotaro spoke in a harsh tone that made his subordinates shiver in fear. "Kaiser stands with me even if I wasn't the Head of the Fuma Clan because he respects me as my own person... Kai treats me more of a leader than anyone else from the Fuma Clan."
With this statement the fire ninja and his subordinates were stunned in silence at their lord's proclamation. It was not the first time Kotaro had gone against the wishes of the village council, and the other heads of the clans, but his words were not those of an idiot, or a rebel, but someone who understood his mistake, and was trying to fix it.
"Gaiza may have failed, but his ideals and his goal of strengthening our clan and giving us a chance to rise in the ranks were correct!" The Fire Ninja proclaims loudly.
"What a hassle... Besides,my old man is dead. There's nothing that can be done to bring him back or the Fuma Clan past glory days. Gaiza was an idiot to think that siding with demons would have ended up in anything less than failure. But we have to stop thinking of the past. If the rest of the of you are still blinded, then to hell with you all."
And with that the fire ninja of the Fuma clan had lost his temper.
"YOU BASTARD! YOU'RE AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE FUMA CLAN!" yelled the older Fire ninja at the top of his lungs. He couldn't take it anymore. He had had enough of this insolence. How could the son of the great Danjo, how could he have become so... foolish? The only answer that came to him was that the boy had been poisoned by the Outsider. That bastard stray of a mutt, it had to be his fault that this brat had ruined their family's reputation. The worst thing about it, was that he was the head of their whole clan, the future of the Fuuma. "You and that Bastard Mutt of yours will pay for your insolence! You two are the biggest failures to our people since that whore of a traitor, Oboro!"
'Oops... I didn't mean to go that far... Ah shit, I think Kai's attitude is starting to rub off on me but this doesn't feel bad. To speak my mind and to follow my own path... well I guess I'll have to take a few punches until they are satisfied and leave.' Kotaro thought to himself as he prepared himself for a beating.
Just before the fire ninja and his subordinates were about to attack Kotaro they were interrupted by a third party.
"It's you guys who are the embarrassment to the Fuma Clan! Complaining about this and that. How despicable can you guys be? It's no wonder why Wrath-kun doesn't respect or acknowledge any of you and ganging up on someone who can't even fight like Fuma-kun? Hebiko won't forgive you for that!" Hebiko shouted down from a building nearby as she had already transformed and was ready to.
But on the other hand... was that out as that last comment about him not being able to fight really necessary?
"Uuuu, I don't have anything to do with this Fuma Clan stuff though..." Shikanosuke cried out as the coward was wrapped up in Hebiko's tentacles and clearly forced to be here. "You guys should just stop fighting. If you really want to fight, then do it somewhere I don't have to get pulled in."
Hebikos shook her head as she wished Kaiser was here as he would have whipped the scared femboy into shape as he just had that... charm(?) to make people want to perform their best.
"What are saying, Shikanosuke? Fuma-chan is in a pinch! We're going! And if you wimp out I'll Kai-kun and he'll give you some 'Extra Training'! Now here we go! Tako Jump!" Hebiko shouted as she jumped off the building and landed on the poolside.
"Hiiiiiiiiii!" Shikanosuke screams out as he held on for dear life.
"Get Them all!" the fire Ninja shouted out as him and his subordinates surrounded Kotaro and his friends like third rate villains.
'So this is how it ends, huh? How annoying...' Kotaro thought to himself as he really was noticing that without Kaiser around everyone seem to want to take their shot at him and his friends.
"Without that stupid dog of your's around, you guys are weak and powerless. How foolish of you to rely on that Disgrace of an Outsider... Should've ditched that Mad Dog and instead stand by Lord Gaiza's side but it's too late now to regret it."
"Who are you calling a Bastard Mutt, Stupid Dog, and a Disgrace!"
Just as the fire ninja and his good were about to attack another voice made themselves know. The group turned their heads around and all were surprise at the sudden appearance of ...Yukikaze Mizuki.
"What the...?" the fire ninja was startled at the turn of events. "Yukikaze Mizuki? What are you doing here! This is a private Clan affair. Now buzz off."
Yukikaze ignored the fire ninja as she approached Kotaro with a serious look. "Those things you said about my Oniichan... about him trusting you and you standing by him... did you really mean that?" Yukikaze asks as she was staring directly into Kotaro eyes.
Kotaro took a moment before he responded with sincerity. "Every word... Kai is my friend, partner, and more importantly... my Equal. I want to be strong enough to stand by his side as I make my dream for the future a reality."
It was then that Yukikaze saw the same drive that her older brother had inside. The Fuma's heir was the same as her who looked up to Kaiser as someone that they wanted to fight along side and be around with. Yukikaze then understood why her older brother was right to trust in the Fuma's Heir as while everyone else turned their backs on Kaiser, only Kotaro and his friends continue to stand up for him loyally.
"... Alright then it's settled!" Yukikaze declared as she turned to face the fire ninja and his goons. "For now on you mess with Fuma here then you're messing with me and also I won't forgive any of you who insulted my Oniichan. Anyone who talks ill of my Oniichan will get a lightning shock from me!"
The fire ninja was stunned by the sudden intervention from the Mizuki Heir who was considered a prodigy of the Most Destructive Ninja Art which was the Lighting Arts.
"Grrr...fine then! Just because you are apart of the Mizuki Clan doesn't mean we are gonna hold back on you!" the fire ninja declared to his fellow Fuuma clan mates.
The team of four readied themselves as the fire ninja and his underlings charged at Kotaro and his friends. The fire ninja arms were ablaze in flames that he had conjured from his Ninja Art and the others had their respective weapons drawn out. However, the attack never came as suddenly the sound of thunder boomed across the area and a powerful blast of lighting strike the ground right in front of the group of four. This forced them to recoil and stop in their tracks before they could even reach their intended targets. All heads turned to the direction of where the source of the attack had come from, and the sight of Yukikaze Mizuki standing tall with a hand up in the air greeted everyone's eyes. Her fingers were covered in electricity and she had a stern expression on her face.
"Okay then...but don't cry if you get shocked too much because even if you cry out for mercy...I won't stop." Yukikaze said in a sing song tone as her words meant anything but mercy.
One of the fire ninja tried to attack Kotaro with his kurika knife as it was blocked by one of Hebiko's ninjato short swords. Hebiko parried the kurika blade as she and Shikanosuke rallied to their leader who then began to analyzed the battlefield as he already had a battle plan cooked up.
"Hebiko spit out your ink on the ground around them, Shikanosuke use you shuriken to keep them suppressed, Yukikaze fire your lighting at them to keep Hebiko and Shikanosuke covered!" Kotaro shouted as his team followed his orders.
Hebiko began to spit her ink around the fire ninja and his goons as the fire ninka fired a couple balls of flame at her but was soon stopped as Yukikaze fired her lighting to incept them and cover Yukikaze. This made the four Fuuma clan members a bit uneasy since now they were on the defensive and had no way to retaliate. Soon, the ink had completely surrounded the group of four were preoccupied with the shurikens that Shikanosuke was throwing at them as they tried dodging them or parrying them. Kotaro smiled as everything was going according to plan as the Four ninja were bunched up together as he grab and nearby lifesaver ring.
"Argh! You, fuckers seriously think that these shitty little distractions are gonna stop us?!" The Fire Ninja scoffed in annoyance at this situation before smirking in confidences. "We have you all in the bag, once we break through then you all are done for!"
Kotaro smirk at the man's ignorance
"Well if that's the case then... THINK FAST CHUCKLE NUTS!'
Kotaro with all his strength chucked the lifesaver ring at the group causing it to bounce off their heads like a pinball, which cause them to step on the Ink and making them lose their footing as they were slipping on the floor before they finally fell into the pool. The pool water put out the flames that the fire ninja was creating as the rest of the goons were trying to swim to the edge of the pool to pull themselves out.
"Hmph! You guys are all just talk. Go cool your heads!" Hebiko shouted out as Shikanosuke and Yukikaze stood at the edge of the of pool. "And maybe I'll cover you with ink too!"
"Uhh, let's not do that Hebiko. If we dirty the pool, we'll have to clean it up." Kotaro suggested before he walks over to the edge of the pool and looked down on the fire ninja and his subordinates.
"Oh, you're right. Hebiko doesn't really want to get punished because of these idiots." Hebiko said in agreement.
"Hey, are you going to keep on talking? Don't think that things are settled yet, you brats." One of the flunkies of the Fire Ninja threatened the group. "We swear that not even that Mongrel Mutt will be able to protect you!"
It was then that Kotaro gave the Goon a cold and dead glare as once again his best friend was insult.
"While I don't mind you insult me, but if you continue to speak ill of my second-in-command and partner...well. your gonna have to answer to her..." Kotaro pointed to the girl behind him who was not all pleasure to hear someone no name mob insult her precious Oniichan in her presence.
However, the four ninjas were having a hard time getting back onto the dry land. They were struggling to climb to the rim of the pools but were unable to do so due to the fact that the ink gave them no friction to grab on. It was almost funny at the moment if not when Yukikaze came into the picture.
"I agree, I don't mind if you speak ill of the Fuma but My Oniichan... No One insults My Oniichan and gets away with it." Yukikaze says threateningly as her hand were sparking with electricity.
"Uuuu, Why do I have to be brought into this because of these stupid guys... I'm not even a Fuma , you know?" Shikanosuke whined.
"Shikanosuke-chan, that's cruel. Aren't we friends right?" Hebiko said as she fake a hurt feelings.
"I know, but... If this kinda thing continues happening, Then I feel Like I'll get pulled into this again...?" Shikanosuke sighed, the Fire Arts User and his henchmen were still stuck at the bottom of the pool.
"I guess..." Kotaro said as he didn't want to drag his friends into his personal clan affairs but he remembered the words he said to Kaiser back at the cave and when they were in that alternate universe... maybe having friends to rely on wasn't always a bad thing.
"Well, I could care less about your guys personal Clan drama and stuff, but just so that you don't talk bad about my Oniichan again... I think some punishment is in order." Yukikaze said as her hand that was surging with electrical sparks was aimed at the pool. With a sadistic smirk Yukikaze let loose a bolt of lightning into the water as the fire ninja and his goons were shocked as they felt a current of voltage flowing through them and causing the four to scream in pain.
While Kotaro and his group were feeling sympathy for the guys, but at the same time also finding it funny that those dumb asses were getting what was coming to them. Soon enough after a few moments of screaming and yelling from the Fire Ninja's group the electricity stopped and the four ninjas were twitching and spasming from the intense shock that they have experienced and were on the verge of passing out from the ordeal.
"Well now that's over, I'm hungry. There should still be some time for lunch and Oniichan is probably out of the infirmary now!" Yukikaze said cheerfully as she just didn't electrocute her fellow students just a few seconds ago.
"Sounds good to me. We should hurry to the cafeteria and have lunch. The place is probably packed right now." Kotaro agreed, he was also hungry.
"Hey about what you said...when the Nisha Rebellion happened... what do mean about seeing about our comrades future being cut short?" Yukikaze asked curiously as Kotaro flinched as he remember that scene of the hallway being littered with the dead Taimanin and students of Gosha.
"(Sigh)... I am assuming that your brother didn't talk much about it?" Kotaro asks as Yukikaze nodded her head. "I see... Well, it's a long story and not one that should be talked about on empty stomachs." He answered back, remembering the hellish landscape. It was a sight that still gives him nightmares at times and was not an easy subject to discuss on a normal day let alone on an empty stomach.
***Gosha Academy Cafeteria***
As Kaiser was leaving the infirmary with his head down as he was mad.
Mad at the situation he was in.
Mad at the fact there was nothing he could do.
Mad that his family and friends were being threatened because him.
Mad that someone like Momoka made him...
Kaiser gritted his teeth in anger as he couldn't explain why his body reacted the way it did but he knew it was something that Momoka did to him.
Kaiser made his way to the cafeteria as his stomach growled with hunger. Maybe some food would help him clear his head figure out a way to get out of this situation he found himself in.
As Kaiser step into the cafeteria he made his way to the counter and place his order for some Spicy Beef Ramen with mushroom, bamboo shots, green onions, and some kimchi. He had also ordered some fried rice and shrimp tempura as his sides as Kaiser had a big appetite. A few minutes passed as the lunch staff called Kaiser's order up as he walks up to the counter and picks up his meal.
Kaiser looked around for a empty seat when he found one by the window as he made his way to the empty table. Kaiser took his seat and sat down as he was ready to eat someone sat in front of him.
And once again it was the last person he wanted to see.
"Heeeey, Doggy Boy~..."
Kaiser sighs as he gave the short stack brat a furious scowl that promises pain and suffering to the girl in question.
"Oh you... What the hell do you want, Pipsqueak?" He said in an aggressive felt a tingle on her spine from the sheer animosity that was radiating off of the young man before her.
It was then that she notices a difference in the man that she knew. She noticed that his eyes were more intense and that they had a dangerous glint in them, his posture was a lot straighter than usual as there an air of authority about him that wasn't there before.
"Kufufu~ Well I saw that you were sitting by yourself. So I decided to be charitable and keep a lonely boy like company." Momoka said with a small smirk on her face.
This causes the larger male to sneer at the smaller female. If anyone that was watching the interaction would say that it looked a Wild Dog was sizing up an annoying Little Rabbit, and was getting ready to pounce and devour the poor creature, and if looks could kill. The look that the tall male was giving the short female would have killed her 1000 times over. Kaiser would have been happy to oblige and actually do so but that would have to wait for later. Right now, the male was hungry and want to eat his meal in peace.
"Well I'm eating right now. So fuck off." Kaiser growled as he slurped his noodles from the bowl of his ramen. Momoka just huffed in frustration at the rude behavior of her pet.
It seem that the Mutt was still not broken in yet and was still disobedient.
It looks like needed to assert herself once again.
"You don't have to be such an ass! I am trying to be nice here and talk to you!" She exclaimed angrily at the large young man. Who was the first to ever make her feel this way, no matter what the brown haired youth did, he was able to rile her up like no one else could.
She was the great Momoka Yatsurou, and was the heir to the powerful Yatsurou Family. No one dared to treat her in the manner that the disgraced outsider had done, it was insulting!
"Kufufu~ Well then maybe I should release those pics of your sister and that boring woman that hangs around her all the time." Momoka said with a mocking tone and a smug grin on his face.
Kaiser stopped eating as his face was furious as he wanted to throttle the little shit was sitting in front of him but he stopped himself as he say her phone was out and on the screen was pictures of Rinko and Yukikaze in various states of undress as it seems that these photos were taken without their knowledge.
"Remember, you dog. I am the one who holds your leash." Momoka said mockingly to the larger boy who looked ready to strangle her if given the chance too. "and speaking of leash... I'm feeling a bit parched so go get me something to drink."
Everyone in the cafeteria was silent as they saw Momoka who was the spoiled brat of the academy and whose father had connections with high ranking officials in the Taimanin and in the Government was ordering around the most notorious rebellious and strongest student like some servant.
Kaiser was about to tell the short stack gremlin to drown herself in a public toilet but held his tongue before he complied and walked over to the vending machine as he looked at the selection of drinks that were available. It was then that Kaiser realized that he didn't know what kind of drink that Momoka drank and it was then that he decided to choose a something that she would like.
As Kaiser made his selection the machine spits out a can as he reached down to grab it as he walked over to back to Momoka at his table. Everyone was whispering wondering the relationship between the School's Richest Brat and the School's Notorious Delinquent.
Momoka was giggling as she was basking in the attention that she was getting from her pet dog as she was on her phone posting on her social media account the picture of the mighty rebel bowing to her whims. She was a very popular and liked person in the school despite being a bitch and this was due to the fact that her father was a wealthy and powerful man, the people feared him and respected him. But that was not the only reason, many male and female students saw her body and they could not help themselves but be enchanted by her beauty. There were only a couple of people that Momoka couldn't manipulate to do her bidding and that to her was unacceptable in her eyes.
"Here, take it." Kaiser said sharply as the young man slammed the canned drink on the table in front of Momoka.
Momoka did not appreciate that her dog would still be unruly with her. Momoka frowned as the students were starting to question if Momoka was pushing her luck as they went back to meals and conversation but Momoka had an idea.
"Hmm... you stupid mutt. This is not the drink I wanted." Momoka she opened the can and took a drink out of it as she spits out the contents in her mouth in disgust. "This is absolutely disgusting, a pet should know what their master likes and dislikes."
Momoka got up from the table and stood next to Kaiser.
"But don't worry, this will teach you to behave properly like the obedient mongrel mutt you are." She said seductively and started to pour the cold can of sweet tea all over Kaiser's head and down on his he clothes to the amazement of everyone in the cafeteria. The sheer audacity of the girl to pull off such a stunt and in public no less had impressed them that not even Rinko could believe the scene before her.
It was at this moment Kaiser stood up and stare down on midget who dared insult him. The entire cafeteria was silent and everyone held their breaths as not even a fly was moving. As the two stared at each other, one with a look of smug arrogance and the other a look of barely contain wrath, it seem to last forever when the truth of the matter was that the tension was only five seconds.
It was also at that second when Yukikaze and Kotaro arrived as they watch the scene unfold. Yukikaze was going to get involved but was stopped by a hand of Kotaro. When Yukikaze looked at him, Kotaro shock her and silently told her to not interfere that this was between the two.
"What are you gonna do about it?" Momoka said pompously.
Kaiser was silent as his knuckles were turning white as he was breathing heavily.
It would have been so easy...
Not even that much effort really...
If he could just apply a bit pressure and...
It was then that Rinko decided to intervene and stop an incident that could've ended very poorly for parties involved.
"Yatsushiro-san! That's enough!" Rinko said as she walked towards the two and stood in front of her friend's adoptive brother. "Please, stop this foolishness!"
"Hmph, fine...I'm sure the mutt has learned his lesson." Momoka huffed in annoyance and turned away from the scene. "And don't get too arrogant just because your from the boring Akiyama's clan... you better watch out or else you might fall hard from the top."
Momoka had her fill and left the cafeteria with a victorious smirk on her face, leaving behind the stunned students who were speechless of the stunt that was pulled. It was at that moment that the tension was finally broken and the room erupted into murmurs and whisper of the event that transpire. The air in the cafeteria was filled with gossip and rumors of what had happened, but no one knew for sure what had truly occurred. Everyone was looking at each other, trying to make sense of the situation. Some were shocked and others were confused, while some were even amused by the whole thing. However, no one dared to say anything out loud, as they all knew the consequences of speaking up. As the murmur grew louder, everyone in the room felt the weight of the atmosphere in the room remained tense and uneasy.
Yukikaze, Kotaro, and Rinko came to where Kaiser was at and saw his shaking fists, along with the clenched teeth as he was humiliated in front of the whole school.
"Kai-kun are you alright?" Rinko asked with concern in her voice.
"Oniichan! Oniichan are you okay!?" Yukikaze cried out as she wanted to comfort her brother.
Kotaro was the only who was quite as he saw his friend be treated in such a shameful manner as he knew that Kaiser would never tolerate be treating in such a way no matter who it was.
This made Kotaro uncomfortable of being in the same place of that vile woman, Momaka. But then something was off about the situation, Kotaro could feel the murderous aura from his friend, and wondered why didn't his classmate go berserk and that bitch a lesson? She certainly deserves that fate, if not worst. So, Kotaro couldn't help but wonder what was going on in his mind. Was there something that he didn't know about that was holding him back? He was curious and couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this than meets the eye. It was like a puzzle, and the pieces weren't fitting together yet.
"I swear I'll make that bitch pay!" Yukikaze said as her hand was sparking with electricity as Rinko did nothing to stop her best friend as she too want revenge for her lover's indignity.
Before Yukikaze could go and chase after Momoka she was felt a hand grab hers as the large, rough, and gentle hand prevented her from moving.
"Yuki-chan...Rin-Rin...It's okay...I'm alright... everything is fine." Kaiser said softly as he gave Yukikaze and Rinko a pained but kind smile.
"Kai-kun..." Rinoko said softly with concern in her voice. She could not believe that her boyfriend was telling them that it was fine to be treated in such a manner. It was almost like a mistress treating her slave in the bedroom, and that thought did not sit well with the swordswoman at all.
"Oniichan! No its not!" Yukikaze yelled in disbelief at how her brother was acting. This was not normal at all. Her brother would normally break that bitch in half or at the very least maimed a person that dared to treat him in that manner. So why is Oniichan so calm about the matter?
"Please... trust me... I'll find a way to fix this... I'll protect you and everyone."
And with that Kaiser left the cafeteria without further incident as Yukikaze was left standing alone in shock. The only thing on her mind was how could her brother not go crazy and beat that woman into a stain on the ground for the dogs to shit on and the for the crows to feast upon. If it was her in his shoes, she would have zapped that cunt to a bloody mess, but her older adoptive brother was far more stronger than her, in every aspect, that was something that the younger and immature Yukikaze had to admit. However, the situation was still confusing and unsettling. What was holding her beloved older Brother back from unleashing his full fury on that bitch? She needed to know the answer, but at the same time, she didn't know where to start.
Rinko knew that something was up because she knew Kaiser better than most people did. Rinko noticed that Momoka was looking at her boyfriend in a strange manner. One that sent shivers down her spine that made her feel uncomfortable, and to be frank, it was a look that was starting to piss her off. It was a predatory smile that the girl wore that seem to scream 'I win' and was aimed right at the both of them. However, the fact that her childhood friend was just allowing this to happen did not sit well with her at all when he mentioned that he would protect her and everyone...what did Kaiser mean by that.
***One of the male restrooms in Gosha Academy***
Kaiser was in the men's bathroom as the was washing off the sweet tea from his head as he let the water run through his hair. After he had finished washing out the sweet tea from his hair Kaiser looked up in the mirror inside the bathroom as his wet light brown hair was covering his face, dripping and soaked, while his bangs were obscuring his eyes, giving him a dark and ominous expression. Even though his face was covered, his glowing red eyes pierced the darkness that was cast over him.
A fist clenched.
Glass was broken.
A hand covered in blood and shards.
Kaiser saw his reflection in the broken mirror as he hate himself more than he had ever before as the young man could not believe that this had happened to him. He had to do the unthinkable to keep his family and friends safe. To him, his life did not matter if that meant that they could live their lives in peace, but now, the situation had become much, much worse. Now, his adopted younger sister and her best friend have gotten involved. If things continued the way that they are going, then his secret would not remain a secret. He would have to find a way to deal with the problem in a more discreet manner before the rest of the Taimanin and his adoptive mother, Shiranui Mizuki, found out.
