The chill musician looked around the studio room before sitting down. "Looks the same as when the guys and I last came here during Celebrity Manhunt," he noted.
"Gee, what a compliment," Josh muttered. "Anyway, let's get started on the interview. We'll start with Ezekiel."
"Well, we didn't really chat much aside from the Playa de Losers episode. And like most of the cast, I felt bad when he got turned into that feral beast. Just glad that he got cured."
"Now, Eva."
"She's pretty tough to be around. I heard of her reputation from Bridgette, and seeing her compete in the first merge challenge was kinda scary. I don't really chat with her."
"How about Noah? Any interactions with him?"
"Uh, not really. He was kinda bad during the dodgeball challenge, hence why we voted him off. We didn't talk after that, but I did hear about his luck improving in that spin-off show with his pal Owen and his girlfriend Emma."
"Now, let's move onto Justin, one of your bandmates and one of the reasons you were cut in Action."
"About that last bit, I could understand the guy's point of view. I mean, if you overheard that your teammate was throwing challenges, you'd be pretty upset. Really, the only time we ever come close to bickering is when he tries to play my instruments. Guy's good with singing, but the only instrument I trust him around is a tambourine."
"He also mentioned in his interview that he tried to set you and Gwen up, correct?"
"Um...could we maybe get to that later?"
"Fine, fine. We'll move onto some of your biggest fans." Trent sighed as he saw the picture of Katie and Sadie. "Yeah, they acted like your typical fan girls," he admitted. "Squealing included. Not saying it as a bad thing, but it can get a bit tiring after a while, and when they start invading your personal space...well, let's just say I do have to remind them of that fact from time to time."
"Okay, then," Josh continued. "Did you and Tyler interact any?"
"Uh, can't say that we have. But I do admire the guy for trying his best during the competition. And I really admire how he was regarding his relationship with Lindsay, even with people like Courtney and Al trying to take advantage of things. Wish I had his skills at the time."
"Oh, I bet you did, Romeo. Now onto crazy girl Izzy."
"Crazy is quite accurate. I mean, she dressed up like a bear and scared us half to death just for a good laugh. She wasn't any easier to deal with during Action. It's no surprise she was first boot on the team. Though I'll admit the way she came back was very clever. Still, I usually want Owen around whenever I speak with Izzy."
"Makes sense. Now onto another band mate of yours." Trent smiled at Cody's picture. "The guy's like a little brother to me," he admitted. "I'll admit we did bicker from time to time, and I honestly thought he had pulled my leg regarding Gwen, but he quickly cleared things up. I felt really bad for him regarding him dealing with Sierra. I mean, yeah, he could definitely push the boundaries with his attempts with Gwen like with the infamous bikini picture, but he definitely did not deserve getting harassed like that! Anyway, me and Cody are still pals to this day."
"He shares the same sentiments, last I checked," Josh noted. "Let's move onto Beth. You two were both on the same team in your two seasons."
"Yeah, Beth was pretty cool during her runs. While I admit I hung out with the dudes Cody and Owen a bit more often, she was still sweet. Though I did have to vote her off for cursing our team with the tiki totem, but I did believe her when she said she didn't know about it. In Action, I thought she'd be a good choice for my team. And she was, especially in the beach challenge. I understood why she and the others voted me off. That was my own fault. We chatted a little more after Action ended, but I can't say we're super-close or anything."
"Next comes Courtney. What did you think of her?"
"First of all, I am NOT a fan of the fanfics that ship us. We just wouldn't mesh well together. And she did act a bit entitled during Island and especially after her debut in Action. I still don't understand how she gets so far with her attitude in the competition. Her relationship stuff with Duncan was arguably much worse than how me and Gwen went down in Action. But I can still hold a talk with her if I have to."
"Now we move onto the last Drama Brother. Harold mentioned you and him often butted heads."
"Yeah, we do butt heads at times. For me, I think he can be too much of a risk-taker regarding our music. I get being ambitious, but you also gotta know when to play it safe. I still respect the dude's talents."
"What about during the Island and Action seasons? He said you talked a little."
"Yeah, we did. After we were both cut, I helped him hide from Courtney and gave him a few scraps of food when I can. I mean, I know he cheated her out, but I didn't want him getting pummeled or starved to death. I was cut early from Action, so we didn't spend a lot of time together. We're still pretty good friends, though."
"Now we'll move onto Bridgette. She did take your side regarding the fallout of your elimination."
"Personally, I didn't like that people were taking sides regarding that. That was my mistake. But I can't say me and Bridgette talked much. She mainly stuck with Courtney or Geoff and sometimes Gwen and Leshawna during the merge. She was eliminated early in the next two seasons, so less time for us to talk. But I felt a bit bad for her regarding the troubles she had in her relationship. First Geoff's Captain Hollywood stuff, then with the cheating stuff...girl can't catch a break."
"Okay. Now onto the next person." Trent smiled at Lindsay's picture. "She's a pretty sweet girl," he began. "Sure, she isn't the sharpest tool in the shed considering she was stuck to Heather for a long time and she poisoned me with a blowfish by accident, her big heart makes up for it. It's one of the reasons I picked her first to be on my team."
"And because she was attractive..." Josh teased.
"No! No. That was just...stupidity. She was pretty good in her Action run, even if a simple mistake took her out instead of Duncan, though I also think that was Chris meddling his nose in it, as well. I wouldn't put it past him. Her World Tour run wasn't bad, even if the tie-breaker was against her. And I can't say I blame her for wanting out early in All Stars. She's still a good person."
"Next comes DJ, and I think you talked a little when the teams merged in Island."
"You mean with the boys versus girls challenge. Yeah, he helped me get through that disgusting ordeal. But we weren't, like, super close or anything. I got cut early in the merge, then early in Action, so no chance to talk. And honestly, the poor guy had much worse luck on the show. He didn't deserve any of that. I heard he's doing better now and we do chat from time to time."
"Alright. Now we move onto Geoff, another guy you met on the eating challenge."
"I guess he's okay, but the dude nearly lost it while he was the host for Action's Aftermath. It got worse after the second show when he threatened anvils and piranha tanks for the guests. Luckily, Bridgette snapped him out of it before he turned into Chris or Blainley. Speaking of which, I totally get his anger at her considering all the trouble she put us through in World Tour. And his payback was pretty clever, even if it meant none of us could return. I even heard him get on that spin-off show and even make it to the finale."
"Yes, I did hear about that MANY times. Let's go ahead and move onto the next person." Trent smiled at Leshawna's photo. "She was fun to have around," he admitted. "Sure, she could occasionally be a bit bossy, but it wasn't like how Heather was. She made sure everyone did their part and got a say in things."
"But wasn't she indirectly responsible for you getting kicked off in Island?" Josh pointed out.
"True, but she did admit that she made a mistake. I think that's one of her best qualities. She isn't afraid to admit she goofed, like how things went down with the spa trip. I was kinda bummed she got cut early in World Tour because she was one of the people I was rooting for."
"These next two ought to be JUICY! Now we move onto...Duncan. The guy that stole your girl in Action..." However, Josh was shocked to see Trent holding back a smirk. "Yeah, I was a mess back then, wasn't I?" Trent commented. "So, at first, I didn't think of him as anything too special. Just your run-of-the-mill punk from juvie. But things started to change come the start of Action when I suddenly saw him and Gwen getting all tight. I mean, I heard the two had a few moments together like in the horror movie challenge, but nothing like what I saw. And...I'll admit I let my jealousy spin out of control."
"So be honest," Josh continued, "How did you feel when Duncan finally hooked up with Gwen?"
"Well...I had some anger at first. And I did focus most of it on Duncan. After all, out of everyone, he was most at fault for how the love triangle went down. But after some time, and it was A LOT of time, I began to understand his point-of-view. Considering how Courtney was treating him, who wouldn't want out of that? The guy should've made things clearer to both Courtney and Gwen before the kiss even happened."
"And how are things between you two today?"
"We actually got to talking after he got released from jail after his lawyer argued something along the lines of 'emotional duress'. And we settled things like civilized people. He's still doing good with his new motor shop and his new partner there. I'm actually one of his regulars when I take my bike there for a tune-up."
"That was actually the opposite of what I was expecting. I wonder if the same will be for our next person." Trent frowned at Heather's photo. "I'm afraid I have no positives towards her," he began. "She is as manipulative as they come. I still can't believe I was gullible enough to fall for her lies, ESPECIALLY in my elimination episode. I tried my best to avoid her in Action and I did technically get my wish with that. And really, the reason I along with most of the others cheered for her in World Tour was because Al was just that much worse. I made sure not to contact her after the show."
"Ooh, quite the detail!" Josh exclaimed. "We'll save Gwen for the end, so next we will have Owen to talk about."
"He was just a fun dude to hang around, always bringing some good energy to whatever we're doing, from him belching the alphabet to getting in his 'hunting spirit' in the paintball challenge..."
"And also knocking you out in the cooking challenge."
"Which was an accident. I liked hanging around Owen as much as I did Cody and Leshawna and Gwen...although I know now I'm not gonna ask him for relationship advice again considering what happened last time. I guess I should've known better since his crush was Izzy, but... Um, anyway, I heard about what happened with him getting into debt and Chris getting him to work as a mole to pay it off. And what happened to him in World Tour...yikes. But we're still great friends to this day."
"Now we'll move onto the World Tour newbies, starting with Sierra. You two never interacted since you weren't in the season."
"We didn't, but I did see what Cody had to go through with her. And I thought our fans can get a little crazy. Stealing his toothbrushes, unwanted foot rubs, that tea stuff... But I could also see there wasn't any maliciousness behind it. She's just a fan with WAY too much energy and Internet dependence. When I heard how she spiraled in All Stars, I suggested to Cody that she gets some therapy before she got arrested for harassment. And trust me, it helps. After the show ended, I actually decided to go see a therapist myself."
"Really? I did hear from another that you had some mental issues, but you actually going to therapy for it..."
"Yeah, I did. After what happened during Action and all that, and you know that aura girl Dawn from season four? She's actually putting her talents to good use with it. I'd say everybody went to see her at least once, whether they want to admit it or not. Sierra and I actually went together when she first started getting help, just to make sure she was comfortable. I'd say we're now cool with each other."
"Very interesting indeed. Onto the other World Tour newbies, who you already expressed some disdain for." Trent sighed at Alejandro's picture. "I already said how bad Heather was," he began, "But Al here is twice as bad. I mean, the guy tricked Harold into quitting, Bridgette into cheating, Leshawna to throw the challenge, messed with DJ's head about his curse, got Tyler to spill the stuff about the love triangle, and poor Owen got hit the worst with how Al warped his head. It makes me a little grateful I wasn't on that season."
"Yes, I can tell," Josh commented. "But now we're onto the main event. Your love interest in Island and Action. The one you were willing to throw challenges for. Your thoughts on...Gwen?" Trent took a breath before beginning. "Ever since the first day on the island," he started, "I just felt...drawn to her. She has this mysterious aura to her that I just wanted to get to know."
"Really? I thought goths like her usually drove people away."
"Believe it or not, Gwen actually wasn't the first goth I've met. You know that duo Crimson and Ennui that competed in the spin-off? Those two actually go to the same school as me. Course, they're a few grades up, but I did meet up with them on occasion."
"Wow. Did not expect that from you of all people."
"Yeah. But anyway, I genuinely wanted to get to know Gwen better, so we started to chat whenever we can, like in the Awake-a-Thon or the talent show. And during that talent show, I just felt a...spark come between us, like it could be so much more."
"Yes, if that song wasn't a big-enough sign. All that was left was to write it in neon letters. But anyway, you two had a bit of some rough ground after the phobia challenge. You know, after you left her buried alive after promising to stick by her side."
"Hey, I couldn't help that the mime freaked me out! But...you're right. I screwed up with that. After that, Gwen was a bit wishy-washy regarding us. Can't say I blame her. Some days, we were great like in the canoe challenge. Others were harder, like with the trust challenge. We finally cleared things up in the merge."
"And then by the time the next episode came, you decided to lock lips with Heather."
"I DID NOT!" Trent protested. "Heather ambushed ME! But...it was also my own fault for believing her lies so easily. I just wanted to get along with everybody. And after I was booted, I regretted what went down with that. Luckily, me and Gwen were able to patch things up in the finale."
"And things seemed perfect," Josh continued, "Until Action started, that is. And boy, were you just a MESS! What exactly caused that downward spiral?"
"I guess I was worried about losing Gwen to Duncan. When I saw them starting to get close during the alien challenge, then in the first team challenge, and I know Gwen explained how Duncan was still heads over heels with Courtney, but I still couldn't help worrying over it."
"Then came your little nine obsession, then you decided to throw challenges for Gwen."
"Yeah... From what Dawn explained, the whole nine thing was a bit of a 'coping mechanism' of mine to help with the stress. Plus, I thought Owen's advice about wanting Gwen to win was good. God, how wrong I was. I did understand why Gwen decided to end things between us after the Western challenge as my mental health was getting worse and she was simply looking out for me. When I heard that she asked the Grips to vote me out, I was shocked and a bit heartbroken at first, but I did understand why she did what she did. Which is why I get so upset when people villainize her regarding the fallout and take sides over it! It was MY fault things went as bad as they did."
"Now, you and Gwen seemed to be on good terms in World Tour even after she hooked up with Duncan. Kinda shocking back then regarding how you felt."
"Well, my care for Gwen outweighed any hatred for Duncan and I just tried my best to be civil. I was just glad we were able to hold a regular conversation."
"And how did you react to Gwen's All Stars performance?"
"Well, seeing and hearing the fact that she only returned to settle things with Courtney...I wasn't sure what to make of it. I mean, yes, Gwen got thrown into the ringer more than enough regarding the love triangle and it's great she was trying to make things right. But then again, this is Courtney we're talking about. It would only end in disaster. Kinda sad to see. Um, are we finished yet?"
"Not yet. We've heard rumors that you've actually got back together with Gwen thanks to Justin's interference." Trent got a slightly embarrassed look. "Well...it took quite a lot of time," he admitted. "Between therapy and a LONG break from anything romantic. Then one day, us Drama Brothers were at this artists' festival to perform when I saw her again. She was displaying some star paintings in another section when we noticed each other after all this time."
"So how did Justin get involved with this?" Josh asked.
"With, admittedly, a bit of trickery. I got a call from him asking to meet up at this old diner, but when I got there, I was kinda stunned to see Gwen instead with the same confused look. And would you believe Justin sealed the door shut and wouldn't let us out until we came clean with each other? Said to talk things out and all. But the dude made a point. Communication was me and Gwen's biggest problem. After a bit of reluctance and once Justin left us alone, I confessed that I still cared for Gwen and I was stunned when she said she still harbored some feelings for me. But we both agreed to take things nice and slow so we didn't repeat our old mistakes. Now things are great between us."
"Amazing! So, we're almost done. Just a few questions left. Have you met any of the other cast members of Total Drama?"
"I've already told you about Dawn, but that's about it from the second generation. I did meet up with both Ella and Sammy and they're really sweet. I've also met Beardo through Harold and he's a cool guy once he gets to know you."
"Alright, final question: what do you think of the newest cast of the show?"
"Uh, well, I don't really follow Total Drama much anymore, but I did hear some good things about Damien. He kinda reminds me of a mix between Harold and Cody."
"Thanks for your time, Trent."
"Thanks, man. Hope you have good luck with the others." Trent walked out of the studio.
The chill musician is done! So, while he didn't have as much as his other Drama Brothers, I made sure to give him some good spots, like Trent being pals with his bandmates and being kinda cool with most of the cast and even becoming friendly with Duncan after all this time! But the biggest highlight was definitely Gwen. Yes, I did decide to bring the couple back together, but I also wanted it to feel natural, in a sense. Hopefully I worked it right.
Next comes the kindhearted surfer girl who won't eat dolphin dogs but will kiss poles. Until next time, this is Dunsparce519 saying enjoy and have a good day.
