The gentle giant was just outside the studio door. "Are you sure you wanna do this, Deej?" a woman with short brown hair under a blue beanie, a blue-and-pink shirt under a gray vest and graffiti shorts asked him. "You said this show brought a few bad memories."
"It also brought a few good ones, too, Sarah," DJ explained. "Plus, I kinda have to since Josh is doing all the TD guys."
"Well, okay. If you're sure."
"Hopefully it won't be too long. Um, maybe you can join me?"
"For real? Sure." The duo stepped into the studio room. "So the rumors ARE true," Josh noted. "DJ did get himself a girlfriend!"
"This is Sarah," DJ introduced as the duo sat down, "And we have been dating about...fourteen months now. I hope you don't mind her joining us. I kinda want a little support."
"We can do that. Just try not to interrupt too much, okay?"
"Yes, sir," Sarah nodded. "So, what's gonna happen?"
"I'll simply ask DJ his thoughts on the cast and we'll go down in elimination order."
"So, first is Zeke, huh?" DJ guessed. "I'll admit the guy was a little weird, and when he opened his mouth about the girls...lets say it took a LOT of willpower not to lash out like Bridgette and Eva did."
"That bad, huh?" Josh asked.
"Well, where I come from, my mama and I are a huge supporter of equality for all groups of people, whether it's for women, people of different colors or if they're part of the LGBT community. And I have seen some girls kick butt in stuff with guys. I know Sarah can beat me in most sports."
"Well, it's just mainly in skateboarding," Sarah humbly shrugged.
"So you definitely voted him off in Island," Josh continued. "What about in World Tour?"
"He did make us lose the challenge," DJ recalled, "And the whole curse thing wasn't in full swing yet. I was still kinda unsure but I decided to vote him off again, though him going feral was kinda sad to see."
"Next we have Eva. Any thoughts on her?"
"The girl definitely had some anger issues to work on, but I had heard that she did improve. Can't say we talk much, though."
"Eh, makes sense. We'll move onto Noah, who lasted quite long alongside you in World Tour."
"Well, I think he's quite nice despite all the layers of sarcasm he covers himself in. We weren't super-close during my third season because I was pretty swept up with that mummy dog curse junk, but I'm glad to hear that he's doing well for himself now."
"Next we have Justin. Any thoughts on him?"
"He's okay, I suppose, but I never really got a chance to really talk to him. He got booted early in Island, I was roped into Chef's alliance in Action and we didn't compete together in World Tour. He seems good from what I've heard, though."
"Next comes the duo that you're often shipped with." DJ looked at Katie and Sadie's picture. "I don't know why," he shrugged. "We don't really have anything in common. Um, maybe we can move on."
"Sure thing," Josh replied. "What do you think of Tyler?"
"Well, I honestly think he shouldn't have left in the phobia challenge. That thing was rigged against the Bass from the start. I wish I could've talked with him more in the third season but I was a bit wrapped up with that stupid curse. But we're still cool with each other. In fact, Sarah is one of his biggest fans."
"A little bit," Sarah meekly admitted.
"I've never seen much Tyler hate on the fandoms," Josh noted. "But let's move onto a more...eccentric person: Izzy."
"Oh, boy," DJ breathed out. "That girl can get downright crazy at times. Honestly, I'm not sure how Owen can handle her. Though I think she has some wits mixed into that head of hers. Can't say we talk much."
"Okay. Next comes Cody. Any thoughts on him?"
"Um, well, he's a nice enough kid, but I can't say we're super close or anything."
"Ah. Well, next comes Beth. If memory serves me right, you chose her over Duncan in Action's vote for a winner."
"She just seemed more deserving of the million over Duncan. I mean, Duncan wasn't a villain exactly, but he definitely pushed the limit at times. Beth played a pretty clean game in Action. We still talk now and again."
"I wonder if you'll say the same regarding the next person." DJ looked at Courtney's picture. "Oh," he nervously said. "Well, Courtney is...um..."
"A bitch?" Sarah finished.
"Sarah!"
"What? It's true. She literally tried to kill you, Tyler, Owen and Cody in the Island special. Did you forget that? And how she treated Lindsay, Gwen, Duncan-"
"Hey, Duncan wasn't exactly innocent in that mess, you know."
"Are you serious, Deej? He-" A sharp whistle cut the duo short. "We have a bit of a schedule to keep," Josh told them. "DJ, thoughts on Courtney?"
"We can chat occasionally," DJ replied, "And she sometimes visits the cafe I now run. BUT I did not approve of her actions during the show. She became a monster in the competition...and not in a good way. It's no wonder why most of us are wary of hiring her as a lawyer."
"I don't blame you in the slightest. Now, next is Harold, who you picked on a bit back in Island."
"And I do regret doing that. Wasn't my finest moment and things went completely overboard with the whole bed thing. After that, I apologized to Harold and he did forgive me for that. After that, things were relatively peaceful between us. We worked well together in the following seasons and after the show, we sometimes exchange relationship advice."
"We heard similar stuff from Harold. Next up is Trent. Any thoughts on him?"
"Not much. The only time I recall talking with him was in the challenge before the big merge, and I was mainly helping him get through the challenge. Other than that, I can't say we talked much."
"Let's move onto the next person, then." DJ smiled at Bridgette's photo. "Bridgette's a pretty sweet girl," he said. "We worked pretty well together back in Island, and I do feel bad for voting for her then. Action had her and Geoff make out A LOT, and I was at least happy the duo left together, though I felt bad for her dealing with Geoff in his Captain Hollywood phase. World Tour had us on the same team again, though she sadly didn't last long. But we still stay good friends."
"I think her kids call you Uncle DJ," Sarah mentioned, making DJ blush a bit.
"Yeah, sweet," Josh commented. "But let's continue. Lindsay lasted nearly as long as you did in Island and was your teammate in World Tour."
"She's another sweet girl," DJ began. "I felt bad for her having to be Heather's partner in Island and I was glad she stood up to her. In Action, after I was booted, Lindsay was one of the people I was rooting for to win. In World Tour, she was my rock regarding that awful animal curse and she hopped my luck would improve. After I got cut, Lindsay explained that she let me win the tiebreaker in Paris because she believed I could win. After that season, Lindsay didn't wish to be on the show anymore, but we were both dragged to cameo in season four. And even if she put on a smile in the show, I could tell she was frowning on the inside. It's o wonder why she wanted out quickly in All Stars. We're still pretty good friends, though. She even gave me and Sarah some new clothes."
"She was right in saying you looked cute in baby blue," Sarah giggled.
"Another sweet one," Josh said. "Next up is Geoff. You two seemed close in Island."
"Yeah, we were," DJ replied. "I often helped him with his relationship with Bridgette, and I hated him getting in that position with the guys' alliance. Not one of my finger moments. But during Action, he got a bit worse with fame getting to his head. I was relieved when he snapped back to his senses. We didn't speak during World Tour since he wasn't in the season. We're still good pals to this day."
"Not too surprising. Are you still friends with Leshawna?"
"Yes, I am. We were pretty chill in Island and she was another person I was rooting for in Action. Course, I was wrapped up with Chef's alliance, so I couldn't spend too much time with her. In World Tour, we were on the same team again and she did try to help with the curse stuff. I only found out about her getting conned after I was cut. I even heard about her and Harold finally making things official and them trying to adopt a kid of their own. Aw, so sweet. Hopefully it pans out soon."
"I'm kinda hoping for that, too. Now, onto the next camper." DJ looked at Duncan's photo next. "Duncan's another interesting case," he admitted. "At first, he was this tough dude who kinda roped me with his pranks and such. But soon, he showed his nicer side starting in the trust episode. And even though he definitely has his bad moments like him bullying Harold in Action or the love triangle in World Tour, he definitely didn't deserve going to prison because of Chris."
"I definitely agree with you there," Sarah chipped in. "But I personally think the love triangle stuff was mainly due to Courtney, not Duncan. You saw how she treated him, forcing him to change and bend to her will. Can you blame him for getting fed up?"
"No, but he should've been clear with both her and Gwen regarding that and not went behind Courtney's back to kiss Gwen. That's the issue: poor communication. In fact, quite a few couples had that problem. But we're good, right?"
"Of course, Deej. You know that."
"Okay, lovebirds," Josh cut in. "We get the idea. Now, let's move onto the OG villainess, Heather."
"Heather was definitely a pain to deal with back in Island," DJ began, "But after she lost her hair, I think some more of her vulnerable side started to show and she acted a tad nicer. In fact, in Action, she actually treated me like a brother. Same in World Tour. Of course, the latter was to get me into an alliance, but at least she wasn't as sneaky as the other guy."
"So, onto Gwen. She considered you one of the five sane people in Island in a confessional."
"Yeah, she's pretty nice. Sadly, most people define her by her relationships and that's not her only thing. She's an incredible artist and even got some artwork in a local museum. I even asked her to make a painting for Sarah."
"Which was gorgeous," Sarah added.
"And another good trait of Gwen's is that she'll try to make things right whenever she did wrong," DJ continued. "Like in Action and All Stars. I heard she's doing better nowadays and she sometimes comes by the cafe for fresh cobbler and coffee."
"Not too surprising," Josh commented. "Now we move onto Owen. Your thoughts on him?"
"Well, he really liked my cooking. He's still a great guy. But like Geoff, fame got to him with the whole mole stuff. But at least he had an understandable reason for it, with his family going into debt. It's the same reason I wanted to join season three, with my mama and I getting into financial trouble. We're still pretty good pals."
"So next up is Sierra. I don't recall you two interacting any."
"Well, we didn't. She was, admittedly, a bit on the...um..."
"Odd side?" Sarah finished. "And a girl that harassed a innocent guy?"
"Okay, that's a valid point," DJ admitted. "I definitely don't approve of her actions, but I do think she's a good person deep down. I think she was getting therapy for that stuff, last I checked."
"So the last camper you competed with was Alejandro," Josh continued. "Any thoughts on him?"
"Honestly, he's the only guy I actively dislike. I mean, people like Heather and Duncan did do some awful stuff, but they also have some good things to them, and they are honest about the bad things. But Alejandro does even worse stuff while pretending to be the good guy! And honestly, some of the things he did was simply uncalled for, like the stuff with Harold, Bridgette, the love triangle...I don't bother trying to speak with him if I can."
"Ouch. Pretty harsh. But really, that's the most negative thing you've said about anyone. You know how not to burn bridges. So, did you meet up with the other two casts of Total Drama?"
"Well, let's see...I've met up with Dawn and she helped me with removing that curse junk. I also met the Final Four of Revenge during my cameo episode, though honestly, I think Leshawna was supposed to appear but had a last-minute thing. Anyway, Cameron, Zoey and Lightning were really nice, but Scott was...a bit mean. Still, he didn't deserve getting mauled by a shark. Um, from the third cast, the only ones I've really talked with are Beardo and Ella."
"That Beardo was super cool!" Sarah gushed. "The way he can do any sound is just epic! It's a crying shame he got cut over the pretend wizard."
"Yes, like I haven't heard that one before," Josh sarcastically quipped before continuing. "Okay, last question: what do you think of the new cast?"
"Honestly, I don't follow the show any more after World Tour," DJ replied. "But I did hear about what happened with Emma and I do wish her luck will turn around."
"Thank you for your time, DJ. And nice meeting your girlfriend, too."
"I'm just glad I got this over with."
"You were great, buddy," Sarah assured DJ. "Hey, why don't we grab some mint chocolate chip ice cream down at your cafe? I'm sure it'll settle any nerves you're feeling."
"I think that might be a good idea, DJ breathed out. "Let's go." The duo walked out of the studio. "You know," Josh muttered to himself, "I'm kinda happy for the big guy."
The gentle giant is done! So, aside from Alejandro, DJ has either neutral or positive interactions with everyone, even Duncan and Heather. Just goes to show how swell a guy he is. Plus, I did confirm the girlfriend theory that has been mentioned a few times with Sarah, an OC created by LaCuevademisgustos.
Next up is the gnarly party dude who went by the title Captain Hollywood for a short time. Until next time, this is Dunsparce519 saying enjoy and have a good day.
