Let's go.

"Woah, check this thing out." Felix said as he saw the video that was released on his data pad. Apparently, every trooper that was sent to scout were given some special devices that could let them be notified if something new has been released from command. Right now, everyone's attention was on his pad's screen as they took a short break to refuel. Beacon was not far already, maybe a forty-five-minute road trip at least, or an hour at most.

"That shit's awesome" Tucker exclaimed with awe, much to everyone's agreement in the vehicle. "It appears that the military have been experimenting and utilizing dust to the fullest to help us gain some advantage." Locus mused as he took a sip of some takeout coffee from the gas station's convenience store.

The group were watching a video of a weapon's demonstration of new experimental tech. One of the field testers was wielding a very alien-esque weapon that wasn't seen before. Its body had a distinct curved shaped, with a handle and triggered in between the gap of the curves. The most prominent feature of the weapon was its huge crystalline spikes that was sticking out of its back. The crystalline spikes were its ammunition as it was shown that when fired, streaks of pointed dust needles came shooting and impaling themselves at their target which caused a combined explosion. The audience in the video clapped at the demonstration while the group in the van sounded off their remarks.

"Holy shit, that was so cool!"

"Couldn't agree more"

"It's a god sent weapon, that's what it is!"

"I need to know the physics and science behind it and see how it works."

Felix snorted with amusement as he read the description of said weapon. "Apparently, this guy is called the 'Needler'. It's said that it uses highly experimental dust crystals as its ammunition and when fired at an enemy, the spike needle imbeds it into the host and explodes shortly inflicting burns. And when more needles hit their mark, a supper combine happened when all needles detonate at the same time killing the victim."

"Boy, I do not want to be the unlucky person who becomes the target of that gun." Doc muttered as he shuddered of the effects of the new weapon.

Felix nodded as he replied. "Yeah, and apparently, the needles also can track down a moving target. Which means as you go around, the needles somehow follow and try to make their way to hit you."

"That gun is so OP." Church gawked. "Boy, if only I had that as a weapon."

"Does it mean you're giving up the sniper rifle?" Tucker grinned as he cheekily asked the blue's leader.

Church looked horrified at the thought as he retorted "Oh heck no doofus! Nothing can ever replace my passion for this baby.". He replied as he patted his gun.

The aqua sim trooper scoffed as he shot back. "Except for when you tried to trade it so you can fly that Falcon."

"…Yeah you're probably right."

"Apparently, they are also making other equipment." Locus spoke up. There in the video were also demonstrations of newly made gizmos their military can use. There were drop shields and bubble shields made from hardlight, a power drain and a healing unit, and a large hammer that was supplied with gravity dust and generators as its power source.

Lastly, there was an energy sword on display that caused Tucker's and Felix's eyes to bulge at the sick looking blade.

"" DIBS ON THE SWORD!"" both of the guys yelled.

"Oh hell no, I saw that thing first dickhead. I want that sweet blade for my reward" Felix tried to nab the eye catching energy blade.

"Over my dead body you fucking cockbite!" Tucker argued.

"Enough." Locus ordered. "there is no point in fighting over a weapon that is still currently being tested. Focus on our mission first, that is our priority."

"Fine." Both of them relented.

"Damn, I want one of those too." Grif pointed at a strange looking grenade launcher with a large blade attached to its end. "Look at those explosions, and I bet that blade could probably slice and dice at everything! I'll name that baby the Grifshot!"

Simmons looked at Grif dumbstruck because his partner assumed that he had the rights to name such fine weaponry. "I don't think that they'll name that weapon after yourself idiot. And seriously, the 'Grifshot'? Your weapon labels need some work."

"You're just jealous because I'm getting that annihilator soon."

"And how do you know you'll be receiving it?"

"Meh, just a hunch."

On the other end, there was Donut who saw what probably was an odd type of purplish orb that glowed and trailed blue smoke when being thrown.

"Is that a spider?" he asked.

Doc who was sitting next to him was appalled by Donut's unawareness of the exploding device. "That's not a spider Donut, that's a new grenade."

After a while, the new grenade on the video stuck itself to a training dummy, then exploding leaving nothing but only broken, mutilated parts and debris.

"Oh my…"

"Mhm, that was the new plasma grenade."

"I would like to have some of those in my collection." Donut beemed.

"You collect grenades?" Doc asked. "Of course!" red team's grenadier replied. "It would add a nice touch to my group of frag grenades. This army needs some new style so I approve on what they're doing." He smiled.

Doc nodded as he spoke back. "It will also be good if they can make some passive equipment."

"There is need for no such thing Doc." Sarge rebutted. "What this army needs is more violence, and more war. If they spent more time researching on new shotguns then boy, they have my full support."

"Don't you like that new shotgun of yours?"

"I didn't say that I didn't like it you pacifist charity worker.", Doc frowned at the nomenclature, "what I meant was that they could have improved those boomsticks Like say, they can shoot grenades, or can be combined with a rocket launcher. Or, fingers crossed, they can shoot lasers instead of bullets! Oh how I would enjoy subjecting Grif and the blues the impressive firepower from those instruments of destruction."

"That's just a pipe dream at best you war crazed buffoon!" Tucker threw a dig at the red sergeant.

"Can it you blue-tard. No one asked for your opinion."

And finally, after their refueling, the motley crew of soldiers have finally arrived the renowned combat academy that trains Remnant's protectors. It was a majestic sight to behold. The building looked like it was pulled from a fantasy story book. It was built to perfection that instilled awe at the troopers.

"Would you just look at this place." Church breathed out as he was amazed by the magnificent façade of the huntsman academy.

Everyone followed him as they picked up their things and parked the van at the schools' garage for students who brought vehicles with them.

"Damn, look at that view. It's a nice idea to make this place built on a cliff side." Tucker remarked. It was indeed true. The academy was built on top of a cliff that granted them a nice view of the sea and the city of Vale in the distance.

*Snap*, a camera flicker sounded

"Huh?"

Tucker turned to see Donut bringing out his camera as he took pictures of the Academy and the landscape around it. Locus did the same, albeit it was for a different purpose. It was to be part in his report that they have arrived and sent pictures as evidence. Not only on the academy's exterior, but also the interior when they have the chance to go inside.

"Hot dang, this place is appealing if I say so myself." Sarge said to himself as he took in the sight of the school. "Lopez, time to execute operation Secret Intelligence."

"No tenemos esa operación. Además, ¿no nos hacemos pasar ya por espías?" (We don't have that operation. Besides, aren't we already posing as spies?)

"Your batteries are running low!?" Sarge mistranslated "Grif, didn't I tell ya to pack up spare batteries and chargers along with those rations!?"

"I didn't bother to listen, sir. It seemed so important that I couldn't even trust myself with it." Grif snarked.

"You insubordinate pile of grease. Protocol clearly dictates that amount of batteries brought is tantamount to how may rations of MREs are issued to each and every soldier!"

"I don't care."

Meanwhile with the Blues, Church was inspecting his gun for any malfunctions and was happy that it is still in good condition. He heard Tucker approach him and turned his attention to his teammate.

"What is it?"

"Yo Church, do you remember when General Doyle said he planned to make Huntsman Academies a thing back at Gulch?"

Church rubbed his chin before replying. "You know, now that I think about it, why would he want that? Huntsmen have no use back at home, we are already a military powerhouse. Besides, back in the early days, all grimm have been exterminated in Gulch because of how fast our technology was developed and produced that we murdered them to extinction. They only now exist outside our country. If there is crime in the cities, we do have the police forces and SWAT teams to handle them."

"Hmm good point." Tucker nodded.

"Hey where's Caboose?" Church looked around for his other teammate who wasn't present and was dreading that he could have caused trouble without them watching.

"Hello!" Caboose suddenly piped up from behind them.

"Holy crap Caboose, you scared the heck out of us. Don't wander around without us okay buddy?"

Caboose saluted and smiled. "No promises!"

Church groaned as he placed his palm on his forehead. "Damn it Caboose, we need you on your best behavior so we can-"

"OH MY GOSH A FOUNTAIN!" the childish member of the blues cut off church as he saw the stone décor and dashed straight towards it with Tucker chasing right after him.

"Caboose no!"

Church sighed as he watched his teammates do their usual antics. He went over to a bench to chill until he heard an explosion.

*BOOM*

"What was that!?" Doc, frightened asked to the group.

"Is that the enemy I hear!?" yelled Sarge.

Grif panicked and threw a grenade then ran around crazily. "Every man for himself!"

"Woman and children last!" Tucker did the same.

"It's important that I live!"

Usually, it was Locus who ordered everyone to be intact but surprisingly, it was Church who did it.

"Calm down you morons!" he ordered. The Blue's leader peered through the scope of his sniper to where the source of the noise was and saw that there was a white themed girl berating a red themed girl over something, for the life of him, he didn't know what was it about.

"It was just two girls arguing about something." He said to everyone as he slung the sniper onto his back and stuffed his hands into his hoodie's pockets.

"Huh, and they say that us guys are the ones who are noisy." Felix quipped.

"Why did it explode though? I've heard about explosive arguments but never witnessed one that literally exploded." Grif asked.

"It was probably some volatile dust." Locus explained. "Dust in its raw form tend to cause explosions which could probably mean that one of the girls had mishandled it."

There was a moment of silence after that with each of them not knowing what they should do afterwards.

"So, what now?" Church questioned the group.

"I say we head inside. Everyone else is doing it." Locus replied as he saw some new hunstmen and huntresses' trainees depart from the airships and made their way to the academy.

"Let's go then. I want to see what the interior looks like." Suggested Donut.

"And I want to see the cafeteria and the rooms to sleep in." Grif chimed in after Donut's statement.

"Well men, I say we go because time's a wastin'" Sarge marched towards the entrance who was closely followed by Simmons. Everyone then did the same and went inside as their operation of infiltrating the school and communicate with the headmaster is officially underway.

A/N: Hey guys, sorry for the delay. My desktop computer is currently being repaired so I had to do this using my laptop. So I decided to add some things from Halo and made them utilize dust like the equipment. Also for the Needler, humanity has manufactured them and in lieu of the blamite, I instead made the spikes some highly experimental Dust take its place. And as for the Energy sword, Gulch is far more technologically advanced than all the other kingdoms so making plasma shouldn't be too hard for them.
