This chapter went a lot smoother than I was expecting it to. Turns out, character interactions are fun to write.

Questions To Be Answered

Ruby Rose went through a rapid recovery. The worst of it was when she woke up, as it turns out that some water and a good meal were the key to getting back to 100%. But, there was still the mental trauma she was going through. On top of losing Pyrrha and her school, Ruby had to live with the fact that she was the one who killed her girlfriend.

The remaining members of Team JNPR came by to visit from time to time, Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie didn't have a place to go when Beacon fell, so they stayed at the Arc house, with plenty of extra space there.

Ruby was in the living room and cuddling up to Zwei. Yang and Taiyang were training in the back, while Qrow and Kirby were getting ready to head out for some unclear reason.

The red-haired girl was depressed. She had no motivation to go out and train with her sister and father, even making up the excuse that she was still in pain. Ruby moped around and took a sip of her water, she couldn't even bring herself to play her video games, they reminded her too much of the Bléunette.

"Alright, don't stay out too long!" Yang laughed and shouted to their dad as she walked in and saw Ruby on the couch with a gloomy face. Sighing, the blonde brawler walked over to her little sister. "Dad said he was gonna chop up some firewood so we could save on Dust."

"Kay…"

Yang frowned a bit when Ruby was acting so passive. "Rubes… I thought we said that we weren't just going to sit around."

"I'm still in pai-"

"Ruby. You're a good liar, you might be able to pull the wool over Dad's eyes, but you can't trick me." Yang sat next to the redhead and nudged her. "See? Not a wince." Yang rubbed her hands, warming herself up from the snowy outside. "I get it… I miss them too. But I doubt Penny or Pyrrha would want you to stay inside all day."

Ruby narrowed her eyes and was about to say something. "What about Bl- Oh, you're right, she'd probably wanna just stay inside, huh?" Ruby mumbled and leaned on the blonde. "There's no knight in shining armor in my life that'll… wake me from this nightmare… what's the point?" Ruby said in a monotone voice. Qrow looked over to his youngest niece and sighed.

The door opened and Taiyang walked in with a single log of wood under his arm. He walked by Ruby and gave her a pat on the head as he walked by. Kneeling down next to the fireplace, he set down the piece of wood and put his hand on it. Using his Semblance, the wood duplicated into two and he started a fire. Placing the wood in the fireplace, he rubbed his hands together and enjoyed the fire for a few moments before using his Scroll to turn off the heating.

Ruby used to be so full of life, so full of energy and determination. But now she was nothing more than a sulking grump to be around. The mature older sister knew exactly how to pull Ruby out of this slump she was in. "Alright, Fuck this."

"Yang!" Taiyang looked over at his daughter and frowned.

"No, I'm tired of being in the dark." She pointed at Qrow who was halfway out the door. "You get back in here too!" Qrow was surprised by this sudden outburst. What was more surprising to him was that it didn't happen sooner. Yang got out her Scroll and pointed it at the hard-light television. She played the recording of the fight between Cinder and Ozpin.

"Yang I-"

"Mom came to see me when I was out the other day." Yang had a glare on her face. "She says that you two are hiding things from us, and I think this proves it, right? I've been talking with Jaune, he said that Pyrrha was hooked up to some kind of machine, and it failed."

Tai and Qrow shared a glance. With everything going on, it was only a matter of time that they knew. "Alright then… Guess we don't have a choice, do we?" The dad stood up and turned off the television. He and Qrow told Ruby and Yang everything. The Maidens, the two godly brothers, and with Taiyang there, he told Ruby and Yang about the Relics. Qrow also explained to everyone what he learned from Kabu. And for shits and giggles, Tai also tells the girls how Ozpin reincarnates.

On the funny boat

Sun groaned as he was finally let up from the seven other teenagers and a black cat.

"Whoa! Where the hell are we? Guys? Oh shit, this is a weird dream." The loudmouth blonde boy rubbed the back of his head.

"We appear to be on a boat." The tallest boy with short dark blue hair noted.

"What?! How are we on a BOAT? Isn't it supposed to be nighttime?!" A platinum-haired girl shouted.

"Ugh… stop shouting!" There was also a girl who seemed to be closer to Ruby's age. She had long orange hair and big-ass headphones. She and the rest of the mystery teenagers looked like they had just woken up.

Blake and Weiss walked over to Sun and the other kids. The black-haired girl helped the monkey boy up. "Sun?! What are you doing here? Did you follow us?" She had a frown on her face, clearly upset that she was followed.

"I came to make sure you guys made it to Menagerie okay! I know you guys would be fine on your own but… you're not all there." The white-haired girl blinked and looked down at her arm.

Blake wanted to be upset by how Sun was following them in secret, but she couldn't bring herself to be angry with that response. She sighed and relented.

"Mrow!" The black cat with deep blue eyes walked around the group of strangely clothed teens.

"Hnng… Why are we in our normal clothes? I could have sworn that I got into my nightgown…" The short-haired brunette looked down at her clothes.

"Who are you guys?" Sun looked over to the group, helping a few of them up. "Did all of you mean to jump off the roof and land on me?"

All of the teens were dazed and confused by their surroundings. They made it to their feet and saw the boy with the monkey tail and two girls with odd features. "Oh uh, sorry about that, yeah. We didn't mean to land on you." The slouching blonde boy said to the taller blonde boy.

"Whoa, kitty ears and a monkey tail? And look at the way they're dressed!" The orange-haired girl whispered to her fluffy-haired friend. "You think we're at an anime convention?"

The fluffy girl whispered back, "Somehow I don't think that's right. Conventions don't really take place on boats, do they?"

"Hey, no worries dude. Are you guys students too? None of you look like Faunus." The cheery monkey teen waved it off.

"That is weird… What are a bunch of human teenagers doing on a boat to Menagerie in a time like this?" Weiss leaned on the railing, using the bars to support herself. Blake narrowed her eyes, something about these kids was off.

None of them knew how to answer, they didn't even know where on Earth they were. Surprisingly, the quiet mousy boy with glasses walked forward and started first. "My name is Ren Amamiya and we are the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. We come from another world."

The rest of the teenagers looked at their leader with bulging eyes and all let out a confused gasp as their identity as the Phantom Thieves had just been revealed. "WHAT?!"

The teens from Beacon blinked in confusion at this sudden declaration. "Another world?" Blake frowned, immediately even more suspicious now. "And why should we believe you?" She reached behind her back and placed a hand on her sword.

"So wait, we're not even on Earth anymore? Then where the heck are we?!" The platinum twin-tailed girl frantically asked Ren.

"Earth? Wait wait, hold on." Weiss pulled Blake's hand down. "Do you guys know the Teen Titans? Are you superheroes like them?" Everyone except Blake blinked in confusion at the one-armed girl's words.

"Wait, Teen Titans like… the American comic books?" The girl that was Ruby's age perked up.

Weiss and Blake shared a glance. "Comic books?"

"Hey!" The captain of the ship walked up to the group of teenagers from Earth. "I don't recognize you, kids, how did you stowaways get on board?" The kids sweatdropped, (almost) all of them were plucked out of their beds and forced to be in this situation.

The boat shook a bit as waves crashed into them. Everyone wobbled to stay on their feet as the boat rocked back and forth. "Guys, I just saw something out in the water. What the fuck was that?" The foul-mouthed boy shouted.

The large Sea Feilong Grimm emerged from under the water. It let out a mighty roar as everyone ran to the front of the ship. Blake and Sun led the charge with Weiss close behind. "By the gods…" The captain said before running inside and getting the ship's defenses ready to attack.

Blake and Sun jumped into action and fought the sea serpent up close while Weiss stayed on the ship. Even when she was down an arm, the former Heiress had ways to fight from afar.

The Phantom Thieves shared a few knowing smirks as they got themselves ready to fight as well. They all shouted out confidently. "PERSONA!"

They all posed dramatically for a few awkward seconds before realizing that their powers weren't working. Morgana hopped out of Ren's bag and landed in front of them. "Did ALL of you forget that we don't have our powers in this form? This may not be our world, but it's still very much a real world!" The cat yelled at the dumb kids. "I expected this from Ryuji but you all look like idiots right now."

The Phantom Thieves stopped their over-the-top poses and blushed a bit. "Well, what do you propose we do then?" Yusuke asked as everyone was mortified by the giant dragon/hydra/serpent thing that almost destroyed the ship with lightning breath that was blocked by the strange monkey boy.

"I think we should watch them." The totally-not-a-cat stated, referring to the Huntsmen. "They seem to know what they're doing."

Everyone watched as the 3 teenagers who weren't much older than them fought off this giant nightmare monster. The two people with animal features were up in the air, jumping around off of each other like gymnasts with powers, while the white-haired girl stuck to the boat and was using a weird circle design to summon a giant white knight. The knight jumped into the air and grabbed hold of the serpent.

Between the three superpowered teens and the ship's crew, they were able to lead the sea serpent to a watery grave as Weiss and Blake clipped the wings and the cannon shot the water beast's head clean off. The Phantom Thieves were left amazed by how they were able to move and fight so freely in the real world.

Cheers were heard across the boat as the Grimm began to slowly fade away to ash. But even in victory, something bad always happens because it's the FUCKING world of RWBY. Weiss's summon faded as she fainted, falling to the floor.

Yusuke was the first to notice this and ran over, he lifted the one-armed girl in his arms and she blinked a few times, regaining consciousness. Weiss's eyes widened as she found herself in the arms of a beautiful boy with dark blue hair. "Are you alright, miss?" His voice was buttery smooth and calming. The Grimm fell into the ocean, causing a massive splash of water.

With the mist falling on them both, Weiss was speechless as this cute boy held her. Snapping out of her daze, the girl responded, "Uh-uhm… yes. Thank you…?"

"Yusuke Kitagawa. You fought beautifully. Might I ask your name?" He said as some water dripped from his hair.

Weiss couldn't help but blush at this compliment. "Weiss Schnee." The secrecy of her family name slipped her mind as she was completely enamored by this suave boy.

Yusuke helped Weiss up and the girl looked away, hiding her blush and clenching her chest, trying to calm her beating heart.

"Weiss!" Blake yelled for her teammate as she and Sun jumped back to the boat. "Are you okay? I saw you fall."

"I'm fine." She turned to Yusuke and bowed politely. "Thank you again for checking on me."

Yusuke smiled and nodded. "Of course."

"Huntsmen! You did amazing!" The captain of the boat approached the teenagers again. "I can't thank you enough for your help, we sure got lucky having you aboard."

"It's no problem," Sun said with a chuckle and wrapped his hands around the back of his head. "Just doing our jobs!"

"And then there's you. You kids didn't buy a ticket. I know every passenger that climbs on my ship, and I haven't seen you before."

Weiss interjected, "They're with us! We can pay for their tickets!"

Blake and Sun looked over with concerned looks on their faces. "Unless Sun has a stash of Lien, I don't think we can." The catgirl stated before looking over at Sun who yanks his cartoonishly large pockets out and a fly comes out.

The captain narrowed his eyes and scratched his beard as he thought about what to do in this situation. "You saved all of us today. I suppose we have some extra food to spare." The old sailor grumbled to himself as he thought. After a long pause, he finally made up his mind. "Fine, but I don't want to hear any complaints about the emergency food. And keep the cat in your room, we have a policy to ensure that no pets fall overboard."

With a big sigh of relief, the group agrees and heads back to Weiss and Blake's now very cramped room. "Thanks for that, you guys." The blonde boy was the first to show his gratitude.

"We greatly appreciate your kindness!" The fluffy-haired girl said.

"Yeah, I don't wanna know what the captain would have done if it weren't for you." The twin-tailed girl stated before letting out a big sigh.

"Nah, he seems like a big softie. The worst he would've had you do is the dishes." Sun batted those worries away. The monkey boy said as he hung upside down from the curtain rods.

"Whoa wait, how are you doing that with a fake tail!?" The orange-haired girl shot up and adjusted her glasses.

"Uh… it's not fake…"

"Right, you said that you were all from Earth." Blake wiggled her ears. "And while it's not the same Earth that Weiss and I know, it's at least similar to the Teen Titans' world?"

All eyes fell on the orange girl. She slinked back behind the foot of the bed as everyone was now looking at her expectantly. "Well, Futaba? You seem to be the most well-versed here."

"I never really read any of their comics. All I know is that they're from DC Comics… But yeah, their world is more or less the exact same as ours… Just with super-powered beings that are stupidly busted and overpowered."

"Oh wait! Isn't that also the same comic company that does Superman and Spider-Man?"

Futaba looked over in disgust at this outrageous mistake that the twin-tailed girl made. "Ann, Spider-Man is obviously from Marvel. Don't you remember when we binged the first three acts of the MCU?"

Weiss had a flashback to when Ruby and Bléu were berating her for not knowing similar obscure nerdy things. "huh…" She muttered to herself as she experienced her deja vu. "Well, all that aside, who are you guys and what are you doing in our world?"

The Phantom Thieves shared a few concerned glances. The short-haired brunette spoke up first. "Well, I don't think any of us know why we're here. But I suppose at least introductions are long overdue. You already know our leader, Ren Amamiya. My name is Makoto Nijima." Makoto then began listing everyone else off. "The loudmouth is Ryuji Sakamoto, then there's Ann Takamaki, Yusuke Kitagawa, Futaba Sakura, Haru Okumura, and finally, Morgana."

Morgana hopped up to the bed and let a little meow out. Weiss fell in love with the cat. "Well hello there! What a pretty girl you are!"

Morgana's eyes narrowed. He wanted to be upset, but this girl looked like she had just recently lost that arm, she was the only one in bed after all. "Seriously?!" He said with a grumble. This garnered a few chuckles from the Phantom Thieves.

Weiss flinched when the cat started growling at her. "He's actually a boy," Makoto said with a soft smile, she was also chuckling at the inside joke. "Don't worry, he won't scratch you."

"Oh, sorry Morgana. You're a very handsome boy. I'll be sure to make it up to you with some tuna when we get to Menagerie." The pale white-haired girl furrowed her brows in an attempts to express her sorrow.

Morgana had the self-restraint of a simp with the incredible desire to please his mistress… So Morgana. "Well, I guess I can forgive your slip up this one time…" The cat person stepped closer to Weiss and started purring, laying in her lap.

From Weiss's perspective, she could only hear a cute little meow. With a tiny gasp, the animal lover started petting her new friend. "Such a polite little man you are… so cute!" She said as she scratched behind his ears.

"Can we back up a bit? How is that tail real? Are you guys animals or something?" Ryuji turned back over to Sun, reaching out to poke his tail.

"Dude. You can't just touch another guy's tail." The monkey boy said as he did a sick flip, landing on his feet and looking over at Ryuji.

"Right, my bad man."

"Sun and Blake are Faunus," Weiss said as she gently stroked Morgana's back.

"One of you said that word before. What is a Faunus?" Makoto asked, clearly interested in Blake's wiggling ears.

The children of Remnant blinked. It was odd, everyone on Remnant knew what a Faunus was, it was as natural and common knowledge as much as needing water or air. Even Blake was taken aback, no one ever batted an eye when she went out with her cat ears in the Teen Titans' world, heck, one of them was full-on green!

"Faunus are the same as humans, but way cooler!" Sun happily answered. "We can see in the dark, some have great senses of smell, and some even have gills so they can breathe underwater!" The monkey boy had a cheeky grin on his face.

"You make it sound like there aren't any problems with being one…" Blake frowned at how casual her friend was making it out to be.

"Sounds pretty kick-ass to me."

"It is!" Sun shared a smirk with Ryuji and they gave each other a little fist bump.

"Faunus are treated like second-class citizens. Our people have been owned as slaves for almost all of known history. Even today, there's ridicule and prejudice for people like us…" The cat Faunus looked away.

The room went silent as the humans of Earth processed this. Makoto was the first one to share her condolences. "Our world has similar issues. But rather than animal parts, people often treat one another differently based on their skin color."

"Skin color? That's even more stupid! At least the humans here are scared of our extra abilities." Sun griped to himself and crossed his arms.

"All that aside, we have to find a way back to our world. We still have school, people will start to worry about us." Makoto stated.

"I'm still worried about my father… Did he really change when we stole his heart?" Haru spoke up, still unsure as she was the newest member of The Phantom Thieves.

"Stole his heart? What are you talking about?" Blake's expression darkened again.

"Right, I guess Ren did kind of just let that secret out." Ann said. The Phantom Thieves trusted their leader with their lives at this point.

He must know a little bit more of what's going on. They had some explaining to do over the next few days until they reached Menagerie.

Yaknow. About a quarter into writing Blake and Weiss's side of this story, I was cringing at myself with how many characters I had to deal with. But as I kept writing, things began to click into place. A good 70% of persona 5 is just them yapping amongst each other, so I think I did better than I expected.

Imma have to get used to it. We're only gonna get more characters from here on out.
