~~~(POV: Ryan Sunrider)~~~
It's been 2 weeks since I awoke in here. While the comfort and warmth of this place are heavenly, I find myself bored. Keeping track of time hasn't been hard, thanks to the stats list. There is an age counter, and I'm currently 20 weeks old. Unfortunately, the only thing I've been able to accomplish is kicking.
I've yet to use or unlock any Force Powers. It was said that Vaylin moved things while she was in the womb, but I figure it probably started happening close to Senya's due date. Meaning all I can do right now is wait.
At least, that's what I think.
The prologue quest I've got has been on my mind. More specifically, the rating and bonus objectives. While the only objective needed to complete the quest is to survive birth. There is obviously more I can do while I'm in here.
I believe that's why I've been given so much time in the first place. I can't say for certain that I know the intentions of the ones who put me here, but there was a reason to do this to me. Sure, I'm the one who picked age 0.
But they could've placed me here anywhere between the second I was born and the day before my first birthday. During that time frame, I'd still be 0 years old.
It makes me seriously think about why they gave me consciousness now.
I've been unsuccessful when it comes to using a form of the Force in terms of Telekinesis, but there are other Force Powers.
Meditation and Concentration have helped greatly in the passing of time and thinking things through. Those aren't Force Powers, though. If they were, they'd appear on the Force Powers list. Instead, they're on my Skills list.
That tells me Force Powers such as Force Serenity or Altus Sopor are something I can try. I haven't tried yet since I've been focusing on heights I don't think I'm ready for yet. Both physically and mentally.
But the process of growing here has been intense. Not in the sense of pain or discomfort but more in how quickly it's happening. If I'm not mistaken, a person grows the most in the shortest amount of time while they're in the womb.
I don't want to waste any more time, so instead of focusing on Force Powers revolving around Telekinesis, I think going for the ones that fall under Sense and Control is better.
'Alright, let's give this a shot… I remember from comics, wikis, and movies that sensing the Force isn't as hard as one would think. If you're sensitive to it, that is. Photographic Memory is coming in clutch here. I remember a lot more information than I originally did.'
My mind relaxes, and I stop all conscious efforts. Letting myself sink into comfort. Reaching out with my mind to that distant feeling that I know is there.
After a few seconds, I feel an overwhelming rush of power. One that I feel is going to crush me if I give it a reason to. The feeling fills my entire little body, and an awareness makes itself known to me. For the first time, I can feel the Force.
It's everywhere and in everything. I feel it outside of the woman carrying me. I feel it with every beat of my heart. I can feel life itself.
And it scares me.
Only for a moment do I feel a form of panic. But before anything beyond a fraction of a second, it's gone. All thanks to Player's Mind coming into play. The feeling that was almost rushing through me has disappeared, but I can still sense the Force.
I've become aware of it.
'Wow! I've done it! I've used the Force for the first time!'
The interface appears for the first time without me calling upon it. Showing me that I've indeed used the Force for the first time since arriving here. A feeling of accomplishment and pride appear in me, but they're tempered and controlled.
Knowing this is the first small step on a large and long journey is what'll keep me focused. In my old life, I was someone who rested on his accomplishments and let laziness take over. I may not have been a failure in the eyes of society and the people that loved me.
But that didn't mean I saw myself as that. It took me a long time to realize your opinion of yourself is what matters most, and I hated who I was.
'This is only the beginning. Now that I know how to sense the Force, it should be easier for me to do other things.'
The first thing that comes to mind is what's changed on my Force Powers list. There is important information there I haven't seen yet.
'List Force Powers.'
FORCE POWERS
These are the powers you've learned or discovered that use the Force to work.
Many of the more advanced powers require training from a master Force user to learn.
You may discover many on your own by simple trial and error, however, this is frowned upon by the groups around the galaxy that can use the Force since control is needed to truly use the Force.
As to what the Force is, well, it simply is.
It's neither good nor evil [which in most cases are open to interpretation], but emotions of all kinds do influence what you can do with the Force.
Importantly, the better you get at using a power, the easier it is to use.
Currently, you have the following Force Powers:
Altus Sopor
Novice 5
This is the fundamental power that all Force-sensitives learn at some point.
Increases your focus on the Force and enhances your Force powers.
Force Powers cost 3.5% less FP.
Costs 125 FP +10 FP/s
Force Serenity (Trance)
Novice 10
While in this state, your meditation bonuses improve, helping you recover much faster.
You also stop your need to eat and sleep for days at a time.
Currently grants an additional 5% bonus to meditation and self-healing.
Costs 90FP
'My first two Force Powers and both of them are incredibly important. Using these two alone will make it easier for me to increase my control over the Force. I take a look at my FP count, and it's slowly regenerating back to 1300.'
If I use Trance in conjunction with Meditation, my FP regeneration is 105%. Using the SKP during character creation to max out Concentration and Meditation has greatly helped. Since Force Powers fall under skills, the 50% XP gain from Concentration to skill levels is applied.
'Add that to the 10% I get from Boosted Growth, and I'm looking like an FP and XP machine. I get a boost of 60% to all my skill levels. Along with boosts from my stat levels. Since WIS and INT are stat levels over my current level, the skills associated with them grow faster. No wonder I got so many levels after using it for the first time.'
I'm assuming that the FP costs for Trance and Altus Sopor will increase as time goes on, or it's possible it'll go down. I don't know yet.
Now that I know how to sense and use the Force, I want to try something. I don't expect results yet, but I want to see if it'll work.
'Here goes nothing…'
With all my might and muster, I reach out with the Force to anything outside the walls of the womb. After a couple of seconds, I feel something. Not wasting this chance, I move it in any direction. After my attempt is finished, I hear a single muffled voice.
The woman that's carrying me stands up and starts walking. Since I've been in her, I've learned what certain movements pertain to. I feel her bend down and then stand up again. After a little bit of standing still, she moves again.
Coming to a stop and gently sitting down.
At higher levels, this can grant self-levitation.
'I've done it! Haha, I've actually done it!'
Never in my life have I felt so proud about something, but that feeling is quickly controlled. I have to take a moment and celebrate the fact I've done it.
'List Force Powers!'
I can't contain my excitement as I see the new list.
'That's one expensive Force Power! My FP has been eaten to almost half, and that's just to activate it and use it on some random object to make it barely move.'
I've got a total of 3 Force Powers now. I made the mistake of trying to jump to a skill I wasn't ready for. Looks like starting from the beginning was required. The Force feels amazing to use. I can't really put it into words, but it's not something I've ever experienced before.
I should try to level these up as much as I can. I've got nothing but time.
'And I get a quest!? This is amazing! Yes, accept!'
The quest is added to my Quests List. I've got two quests going before I'm even born into Star Wars. I can't help feeling this is a bit broken, but I don't see a reason to waste time.
'However, I need a nap…'
Despite my eagerness to start training these abilities, I need to sleep. Even if I can use Meditation and Trance to recharge my FP, I don't have the physical energy to do it.
I take a quick look at my Stat List, and I see that my Stamina is near 0. No wonder I'm so tired. Little physical exertions would exhaust a growing fetus. No reason to stay awake, and sleep soon finds me.
You have slept for over 8 hours.
HP, FP, PP, and STAM are 100% restored.
All negative statuses and aliments have been removed.
NOTE:
You only need to sleep for 8 hours to fully restore HP, FP, PP, and Stam.
While a minimum of 4 hours is required to get any restoration [50%]
The familiar message greets me as I slowly wake up from my deep slumber. For the past 10 weeks, I've been training my 3 Force Powers. It hasn't been easy due to the FP costs and STAM I'm using to struggle inside this woman.
But I've got nothing but time. It's allowed me to focus solely on leveling up these 3 Force Powers. However, my actions inside haven't had repercussions.
Whenever I start training Telekinesis and use it for the brief moments I can, the woman carrying me has a tendency to become vocal. While I can't hear what she's really saying, her muffled voice is something I can hear.
I don't know what she's saying or if she's talking to me or someone else. But by deduction, it should be me. After those moments with Telekinesis, I feel the vibrations and sensation of her rubbing her belly. It's a strange feeling, but one that I enjoy.
'Altus Sopor and Trance are at much higher levels than Telekinesis, but dividing my time as I have has proved useful.'
Instead of focusing on leveling the Force Powers up simultaneously, I focused on leveling up one at a time. First, I started with Trance, and after I got that to Novice 50, I shifted to Altus Sopor. It was quicker upgrading Altus Sopor, which is now at Novice 50, too.
That took me 5 weeks to do both, but the last 5 weeks have been specifically training Telekinesis. It's taken much longer to upgrade this Force Power. I've reached Novice 20 with Telekinesis, but I think I can get it to Novice 50 by the time my birth comes around.
'List Force Powers.'
'The costs to use Trance have risen as I've leveled it up. However, the bonus to FP regeneration connected to Meditation has increased along with the cost. Altus Sopor leveling up has helped me connect and use the Force easier.'
Then there's Telekinesis.
'The initial cost to start using Telekinesis has lowered just a bit, but the ability to keep using it after the initial cost has risen. All the progress over the last 10 weeks tells me every skill can either be similar or completely different in terms of costs and how that cost works.'
It's been valuable. What I find interesting is even though I've fulfilled the initial objective of the user-generated quest, it's not completed. It does say to level the 3 Force Powers to Novice 20 before I'm born, but I guess the quest doesn't end until that day.
'The bonuses to the quest must be related to the full progress I make until I'm born.'
Over the last 10 weeks, I've grown to love how much I can achieve in this new life. I don't know what's in store for me after I'm born, but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying my time now.
The only thing really holding me back right now is my body. I can only do so much movement before I'm ready to sleep. I won't be able to increase my Stamina without Stat points. And while I have two unused ones, that difference after using them would be negligible.
'3 Stamina doesn't go a long way. Simply moving my little arms or giving a kick against the womb costs 1 STAM. It's why I can only do so much.'
Using Telekinesis does require some bodily movement. No matter how minor, that ends up costing STAM. I'm only able to attempt 1 or 2 Telekinesis movements a day before I'm knocked out again.
The 60% XP boosts I'm getting from Boosted Growth and Concentration have been life-saving. The fact of the matter is, it's gonna take me a while to get Telekinesis to the same levels as Trance and Altus Sopor.
'While Altus Sopor's FP reduction isn't coming in all that handy right now, I know once I get it to higher levels. It will be.'
All in all, everything is progressing smoothly. I've got 10 more weeks until the full term needed for pregnancy is finished. So until then, I'm gonna keep grinding away. I'm eager to meet the woman carrying me. It'll be strange to have another mom, but this is the choice I've selected.
And I'm not regretting it.
The weeks have passed by, and I've been doing the same thing every day. The only Force Power I've focused on since the 30-week mark has been Telekinesis. Now, I've reached the 40th week. It's starting to get cramped in here.
It's been around 5 days since the 40th week started, and I have a feeling the birth is coming soon.
Thankfully, I've got all 3 Force Powers to Novice 50. While the growth rate of power is absurd with the interface, I think there is gonna be something that balances it out.
If there isn't, then I don't see anything holding me back.
'List Force Powers.'
The list appears, but I only focus on Telekinesis since it's the one to have changed over the last 10 weeks.
Telekinesis
'All that's left is to be born, and I'll get the rewards for both 'A Child of Suns' and 'Unbone Power.'
It's crazy how fast the last 22 weeks have gone. Time flies when you're having fun, and that's exactly what I've been doing. I've learned a lot about the interface, and I've also learned how to connect with the Force. The feeling of using and channeling the Force is something I'll never get used to.
Its power is so raw and ever-present. When I open myself up to it, it's both a raging storm and a calming stream. It's extraordinary.
'I assume it's because of the perks Force Vergence and Heart of the Force working together. I've used Photographic Memory to help me remember information from my old life; it's a useful perk. Boosted Growth has come in clutch for my user-generated quest. I made some good choices.'
While I'm betting there was a better combination of perks I could've selected, these are the ones I selected to make my journey through my new life easier.
All of a sudden, a great tightness envelopes me. The warmth swarms me, and I can hear my mom's muffled shouts and voice. I feel her hand against her belly right where my head is.
'It's time.'
Looks like my birth has arrived, and it's time to see how everything goes.
My mom gently rocks me in her arms, and she stares down at me. However, from my perspective, the interface is blocking her view of me. But she can't see it. She leans down and kisses my head. Not saying a word, and only enjoying the fact I'm here.
Since there is nothing else to do right now, I think it's time I check what my new Stat List looks like.
'Looks like my age has changed back to 0 since I've been born. I leveled up twice, thanks to those two quests. My FP has skyrocketed by getting 1300 every level up. I've gained 4PP and earned 6 SP. Not to mention I've earned 80 SKP to spend on any skills I want.'
I won't be touching any of this yet. No sense in using this stuff for now. Now that I've been born, I don't think a super-intelligent baby using the Force at will is something I want to be.
'The smart thing for me to do is wait until I'm at least able to walk and speak. Then, I can start grinding again.'
There is another thing that's shown up and one that isn't, by any means, unwelcomed.
Friendship Level Increased!
Your friendship level with Sarina Sunrider has increased.
New level: Beloved.
'That's a level of friendship that wasn't shown to me when I went through all the tutorials. I didn't have to pass any tests of friendship either…'
It's likely because she's my mother. Carrying and giving birth to a baby is a long and grueling process, but the bond formed is strong. So, I guess the interface doesn't have a problem with this. Considering the circumstances.
"It's nice to finally meet you, little Ryan…"
The first words that I hear from… Sarina, is like honey and milk to my ears. Her voice is soft and smooth. Gentle and caring.
She leans down and kisses my forehead. Then, after a couple of seconds, opens her blouse and brings me to her breast. This is awkward, but I'm starving. So, I immediately latch on and start to fill myself up.
I close my eyes and start to think.
'I know there is a lot I don't know about where I am. All I know is I'm born in 7 BTC, or 3660 BBY. The room didn't give anything away as to where I am.'
I know all these questions I have will be answered in the next few days to weeks. Until then, I guess I should just enjoy this. Until I'm able to walk around and talk in a coherent manner, I'll be playing the role of baby.
Looks like my new life has started.
