I had walked away from General Hospital years ago and writing was done a lot less frequently but last month I broke my leg in two places and have had to have surgery. My children are all in high school and or at least old enough that they don't need me to hold their hands. My husband and I are remodeling the room over our garage and going through and getting rid of things in it. Including my old writing computer. I found a few stories that were almost finished and this one caught my eye. I had no intention of stepping up into writing mainly because I loath the way GH has turned out. Still, like an old friend or a comfortable pair of jeans and sneakers, I stepped into finish what little needs to be done to this story. -Miranda
Chapter Six
(The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls that chaos, both his own and the enemies)
Jason grimaced when Stan gave him the news three weeks later. "Box out Sonny. Set up a meeting with Alcazar."
Stan said "What about Max?"
"We need to talk to Lorenzo first, then find out where the Zacchara kid is." He replied with a heavy sigh. "We also need to bring in some of our people from the island and let Marco know that what we have talked about is now in play."
Stan went back to the computer and sent the message then told Jason, "That kid, he is a threat like I suspected. He was digging into your finances and background. He has also gone missing."
"Have our people locate him and pick him up." Jason ordered then went to speak to his former best friend who still believed he held that position. "Sam is still missing and now they have her on camera taking a shot at Ric."
Sonny wanted to snarl and snap at Jason but he had been talking to Max when he heard the guard getting shot, he knew that he had himself created this mess, if he had only listened to Jason when he had warned him that Sam was a loose cannon.
"We need to pin this on someone else." He snapped. He had called, he knew his brother was still alive, so they would have to go to Ric, talk him out of pressing charges. "Deal with this, Jason."
"Sonny, they have her on camera, from two different angles." He pointed out. "The best way to deal with this is for her to disappear."
"Things are too unstable, Jason. I can't have you going missing." He pointed out.
Jason controlled his expression, he had no intention of going anywhere, he had a plan, but he needed to have the idea brought up with Sonny, to lead him to where he wanted the other man to go. He had someone coming into town to take care of Sam, someone who would remain under the radar so to speak. He didn't trust the information regarding Sam shooting Ric because it showed up so much later but it was possible.
Elizabeth had taken the results from the envelope and was sitting by herself out near the old railroad bridge, not that far from the train graveyard. She had been worried about how certain the others were about Jason being the father of Cameron, but she had talked to all of them, asked them to give her the time to open them on her own.
She had been certain that Zander was the father, so sure, but Elizabeth as the last three days had passed since being told the results were ready had been having the sickening feeling that Georgie was right. Now she had plenty of questions and knew that she needed to read the results all on her own.
Taking a deep breath, she ripped open the manila envelope and pulled out the single sheet of paper inside. With shaking hands, she scanned through the legalities and soon came to the results. 99.9 sure that the results ran, the father was the person whose DNA was run against the sample.
Elizabeth leaned against the old bridge, not sure what to do next. How did she tell Jason this one? I mean if she hadn't even suspected it, it was going to be a total shock to the father of her son.
Claudia was slipping into her father's study, annoyed by the way that the men refused to obey her orders to follow her brother and to find out where he was. Still, that wasn't her biggest worry, it was the offer that her father had gotten from the five families backed by Maximus Giambetti for her marriage to solidify a deal with another family.
Her father had been wildly chuckling at whoever it was that he had sold her into marriage to, and was even now driving to a meeting regarding the situation. Since it was the first time in years that her father had left the estate, she was furious because she knew that it was not going to be good news for her even if Anthony had informed her that she wouldn't be marrying into the Ruiz family.
Trevor had returned from New York rather smugly pleased with himself and Claudia was sure that the man would betray her in a heartbeat. She walked to the desk and sat down, determined to find the paperwork that Trevor had handed to her father regarding the situation, knowing that he had locked into his center drawer of his desk.
Using his letter opener, she pried open the drawer, not giving a damn about the damage she was doing to desk and that her father would know that she had done it. Pulling out the papers, scanning through them, she found nothing at first, then a note written in her father's hand addressed to herself.
"Claudia, do I really look that stupid? I have the paperwork on me. Resign yourself to this. By the way, did you really take me for a fool? I know about your deal with Trevor and am dealing with it even as I deal with you."
Shoving everything off the top of the desk and swearing angrily, Claudia vowed to make sure that her father didn't breath another day than she had to allow him to. Storming out the study, she slammed the door as she exited the house, heading to the garage and determined to end this as soon as possible.
Maxie Jones was hiding in the long hallway heading towards the executive offices, it was her favorite way to exit the hotel, especially now that for some reason Lucky Spencer was constantly hanging around the hotel lobby.
Hearing the dulcet tones of Carly as she shouted at someone, Maxie ducked into a nearby staff niche when the blond woman came stalking her way, along with her best friend Courtney.
"What am I going to do, Carly?" She was asking as she strolled next to the other blond. "Emily confronted me when I was leaving General Hospital."
The taller blond stopped and turned to her friend, mere inches away from Maxie's hiding spot. "I don't know what you want me to do. How do you get yourself into these situations? Dillon and Lucky? What were you thinking?"
The blond had tears in her eyes as she said "I was trying to help Nik, Lucky needed some pain pills and I discovered he was getting addicted. I was trying to help him, then I needed to keep Dillon away from Lucky, he was trying to talk to him about Lulu and I couldn't think of anything else, so I slept with him."
"Well, clearly someone saw you." Carly said annoyed. "Why wouldn't you use condoms?"
"I did, I swear, Carly, we used condoms." She earnestly stated. "Now, what do I do?"
"Well thanks to Emily, you can't use the kid to get Jason to help." Carly said irritated. "It would have been nice to use this kid to get rid of Sam McCall."
"I could still claim that Jason is the father, after all he lied to help you with Michael. I mean Dillon is a Quartermaine." She replied hopefully. "Plus, Lucky is an addict, maybe...?"
Carly got a hopeful expression on her face and said "Let's go talk to Jason, and Sonny. Yes, that is what we do, we talk to Sonny."
Lucky was feeling vengeful but he had been avoiding going to the one person besides himself that would care about Elizabeth having sex with Jason. Courtney had been nagging him about the drugs and he knew that she was aware that he had stolen some pills from the Mercy County hospital pharmacy as well as that he had tried to do so from the GH pharmacy using his aunt's scan card.
He had gone to his father but Luke had merely told him to leave it alone, but Lucky had no intentions of doing so. He was going to try to be patient, and bring out the facts when it would hurt Elizabeth the most.
To his annoyance, he had intended to let Ric Lansing spread the news but Lansing had ended up shot by that McCall woman the next day which meant Lucky had to sit on the news. The detective had been tailing Morgan, almost certain that he would lead him to the McCall woman but instead all he had seen was Jason with his sister, his friends and to his annoyance, not a single sighting with Elizabeth.
"Lucky?" Groaning in annoyance as he heard Nik's voice, Lucky greeted his brother who had already introduced him to his new wife. Lucky didn't get it, why marry another woman when he still had Emily on the line.
"What is it?" Lucky asking when he saw that Nik had their sister with him.
"I'm pregnant." Lulu said.
"No, you're not. How could you be pregnant?" Lucky stated and went ballistic when his sister told him about Dillon and that they had slept together. "You're getting married."
"No." She sadly reported. "Dillon's mother is insisting on waiting until we get a DNA test and Dillon is listening to her."
"Tell him the rest of it." Nik said distastefully looking at his sister. "NOW!"
"No, I used condoms when I slept with Diego." She mutinously spat out. "This baby is Dillon's, after all he was the first person I slept with. And besides, Diego is dead, so no one can prove anything."
Lucky went to grab his sister by the arms but before he could, Nik stepped between them and said "Luke was told last night, I went to the Haunted Star this morning because Tracy kicked him out, he slipped out of town, with money from my safe."
Swearing at their father, annoyed with his sister, Lucky was not in the mood for this when Emily entered the Metrocourt and went over to speak to the trio. She had heard the word pregnant and felt a sense of relief. "So, she told you?"
"Yes." Nik said sounding furious as he was once again stuck dealing with his half siblings while watching Lucky slip away clearly about to do something idiotic. Right now, he found it hard not to go home and move to Greece with his new wife.
"I am surprised, I was worried she would avoid telling anyone but I guess, even Courtney can do the right thing once in a while." Emily stated.
"Courtney?" Nik asked wondering what that woman had to do with the situation his sister was in.
"I know its rare, but take heart it could be Dillon's" She replied.
"Of course it's Dillon's." Lulu shrilly announced not knowing that they weren't talking about her.
"Look, I get it, Lucky doesn't want to be the father of the child of the woman who faked being pregnant with his brother's child, but Courtney honestly doesn't know from what I understand. The baby could be either Dillon's or Lucky's.
"That is just perverted." Nik said annoyed with Emily. "Why would you say such a thing about Lulu's baby?"
"Lulu?" She asked looking puzzled as she looked at the young blond then her eyes went wide as she struggled to deal with the new thought process. "Uh, Nik, no, Courtney is pregnant, she just found out today. She admitted that there were two possible fathers, Lucky or Dillon."
"NO, Dillon the father of my baby." Lulu insisted.
"I uh, sorry Nik, but Courtney was heard admitting it at GH when I confronted her about sleeping with Dillon and several people have seen her with Lucky including her father who confronted her at Kelly's last week." She said as she quickly told Nik, she had to go, and quickly exited the hotel, hurrying over back to GH.
"Emily?" Turning to see Robin, the med student, listened as she asked. "What happened with Elizabeth?"
"She was going to open them later, but wow, I have something I need to tell you. Courtney is pregnant and so is Lulu." She said shaking her head. "Dillon is the possible father of both kids."
"Your aunt is going to go through the roof." Robin said with a hidden need to laugh.
Hearing the sound of arguing, they turned to see Lorenzo arguing with Bobbie Spencer, within minutes the two women saw Maxie arriving and the blond's eyes went wide as she heard what they were saying and with a shake of her head came and told them. "Hey, my dad is looking for Georgie."
Georgie was reading the letter from her publisher, they were thrilled with the success of her first three books and had begun the editing of her latest to be released at Christmas, and were inquiring about a new contact for the remaining three she had sent the outlines for.
To her shock, they had informed her that a British publishing company had paid for the rights to publish in their country and that they had had offers from Australia as well. Looking at the amount offered, she felt her hands shake as she realized that something Stan had done to get her the funds to pay for her Italy trip was giving her the money to never have to work again.
"So, what is the good news?" Stan asked as he joined her on the park bench.
Handing it to him, she said "Well, you won't be making the type of funds you do at your current job, your share as my agent should ensure that you can remodel your mom's whole house."
Laughing, he gave her a brief hug then said "Mom is already questioning where the money is coming from. Jason has been getting the side eye from her all month."
"I have to tell my dad." She said. "So, you should tell your mom."
"I wish I could be there for that." He said with a laugh that faded away. "I do need to tell you one thing. That computer geek, the one stalking Maxie, he escaped. Our people are tracking him, but you might need to warn Maxie."
"What? How?" She asked.
Stan steadily looked at her then said "I can't tell you what I know, but be careful. I looked at his file, he could be a threat to anyone he believes is standing between Maxie and himself. We are watching for him, but be careful, okay?"
Georgie thanked him and was walking away, her mind on while things with her writing were going well, she had gotten a few messages from Johnny but eventually even they had ended. She wanted to by angry, but he had made no promises.
Her heart was numb and her body still sung when she thought about what had happened between them, but she had to admit being grateful as he had taught her that with the right person, she could be so much more.
Stan let himself into the safe house and spoke to Jason who was speaking to the others gathered around. "We know that Max and Milo's father is willing to help, but the price he wants is something I am not willing to pay. The kid doesn't want to be part of this world."
"Jason, let us handle that." The burly dark haired guard said. "What about the McCall woman, should we take care of her at the same time?"
"Stan?" Jason turned to the computer tech who shrugged.
"She seems to have forgotten what she saw and heard at the penthouse but she was a con artist. She could be faking."
One of the out of town staff said. "We could make sure that she is convicted for shooting Lansing even if she wasn't the shooter."
"She could talk." Jason said pinching his nose as he tried to figure out what to do with the woman. "Plus, I don't trust her to..."
As his phone rang for the twentieth time in an hour, he pulled out and frowned. "Stan, do you have any idea why they are blowing up my phone?"
Shaking his head no, he stated. "Sonny believes that you are tracking down Alcazar's computer guy. Unless Carly is part of the group of sudden pregnancies from a bad batch of Endoros, no."
Jason tossed his phone down then after it rang again, walked to the hallway and called Carly hoping that Carly hadn't blown up her life again. "What is going on?"
"Jason, we need your help. Courtney is in the middle of a mess..."
"Carly, I am not even in the state." He snapped almost certain that while Carly wasn't pregnant it sounded as if Courtney potentially was. "Take whatever it is to Sonny."
The blond was annoyed then went to full on pissed when he hung up on her. "Courtney, go tell your father, tell him that you ran a DNA test, we can tell him later on that Jason is the father."
The blond left the hotel, unaware that another blond this one male who had been coming to speak to Carly had heard the whole thing. He had backed away, grateful that the two women were leaving him alone in the this mess. Carly had been hanging around and he had let his guard down and to his frustration, she had used him to blackmail her way into partial ownership of his hotel with her uncle's help.
Jax decided to let things go for now...but he now had blackmail material of his own and he had no intention of letting her stay partners, he was not a fool in spite of what some people believed.
Elizabeth was thankful for her grams being out of town as she let herself into the brick house on Maple Street. She had called Jason and had asked him to come speak to her there. Steven was babysitting Cameron as he had spent the day searching for new housing here in Port Charles.
He had found a small house and was currently considering buying it. He had been trying to convince her to buy the one nearby that was slightly larger but Elizabeth wasn't sure that she was ready to be dealing with all the maintenance that came with home ownership.
Looking out the window, frowning when she saw the dark four door sedan that she had seen rather infrequently driving past, she saw the bald head of the man driving and thought about what her grams had told her about her batty neighbor, Mrs Peabody and the body she claimed was in her freezer but when the police had shown up nothing.
A painted man... Elizabeth shivered as she realized that it might have a grain of truth to it. "Elizabeth?"
Turning to see Jason, she saw that he looked worried as he entered from the back door. "How is everything?"
"We might have a lead. A computer nerd who has been stalking Maxie Jones."
"The boy in the powder blue suit." She murmured. "She told us about his kidnapping her. I thought he was dealt with. That he was sent back home."
"He escaped from the hospital." He grimly told her. "I wish I could tell you more but..."
"No, that fine. Jason, when things are dealt with, there is something we need to talk about." She replied with a grimace.
Jason's mind went to the news that Stan had told him, they hadn't used any protection a month ago, maybe Elizabeth was pregnant. Torn between being thrilled and terrified considering the secret he was keeping, he asked if it was possible.
Elizabeth let out a sigh and said "Doubtful, I went and had a test done to be sure and will get the results later the week as I told Kelly not to put a rush on it. I don't know if you heard but Tracy screwed up. Emily told me when she went to be tested herself."
"I thought Nik was married to someone else?" He asked.
With a heavy sigh, she said "You have missed a lot while being out of touch. Emily is dating my brother, but thankfully they were not pregnant."
"What else is going on." He asked.
"Well, it all started with Georgie Jones." She said as she explained that somehow they had gotten onto the subject of Jason and herself and their past. "She claims that she saw us together, at Kelly's."
Jason felt his heart sink. He had believed for four years that no one had seen Elizabeth and himself, now in less than a month, he had found out that at least two people had seen them and more knew.
"She didn't say anything because she believed it to be none of her business until I stated that we had never slept together." She replied then looked sideways at Jason who was being remarkably still and quiet even for him. "Anyhow, I told her that it wasn't possible."
"Elizabeth?" Jason felt his heart sink as he sat down on the nearby steps. "You don't remember... finding out Emily was going to be fine...we went to Kelly's. You had gone into Lucky's room, grabbed a couple of bottles of tequila. We spent the night together. I asked for time and that we try to repair our friendship, you told me that it was all a mistake and for me to go, that..."
Jason thought back to that night and then said "When I left, I received a note the next day, from you saying that you wished to forget it ever happened and that you didn't want to talk about it, ever again. You signed it goodbye. Its why I walked way."
"Jason, what are you talking about?" She asked sounding bewildered.
"Elizabeth." Jason looked at her, and then at his hands. "Elizabeth, you really don't remember, do you? When I came to talk to you, after Courtney hit you, you said you remembered. I asked if you remembered. You told me to go back to my wife. I didn't... I didn't want to, but-"
Elizabeth thought about that horrible two weeks and said "You asked if I remember the accident that it was Courtney who hit me."
"No, I-" Jason swallowed hard then said "No, I asked if you...Elizabeth, we were at cross purposes that day. I was asking, if you still believed that I had to fix things with Courtney. You told me to go home, fix things with my wife, that you wouldn't be the other woman. I told you I would leave..."
Elizabeth went back in her memory and told him "Jason, I honestly don't remember saying that. I swear to you. I don't."
Sick to his stomach, Jason whispered. "I married her because you told me to go and do so. That there was not a chance for us as long as I worked for Sonny. We argued. You...when you were pregnant, Carly told me that you had to have a DNA test done. I went to you and you told me that you got pregnant at Halloween. I asked you if you were certain, you told me yes, that it was the only possibility."
Elizabeth did remember that conversation and told him. "Zander was drinking, I had a drink but was feeling sick, we went upstairs at Jake's. When we woke, he said that we had slept together. I wasn't sure, we were still dressed. I knew that Ric thought he was the possible father, but we didn't, but I knew that he had drugged me previously, I was such a mess. I didn't know what I believed, but Jason, I swear to you, I don't remember sleeping with you or sending you a note."
Jason had realized he could have pretended to not recall sleeping with Elizabeth, could have pretended that all of this was news to him, but he knew that keeping secrets when he wanted a future with the woman in front of him would ruin their chance so taking a deep breath, he said "When I got a chance, I ran a test."
"Jason, your test was wrong. We ran one, your the father, you're Cameron's father." She blurted out.
"I know." He quietly replied then closing his eyes said. "I knew at the beginning of -."
Elizabeth who was feeling guilty at keeping Jason from his child, who had been trying to figure out how to fix this, went still and interrupted him, asking "What?"
"I knew. I just thought that..." To Jason's shock, Elizabeth looked at him then seemed to gag before running to the downstairs bathroom and began throwing up. Quickly following her, worried about the woman he was in love with, he was about to enter the small room when she burst into tears and in spite of throwing up, slammed the door in his face. "Elizabeth?"
A few more minutes of puking then Jason heard the sound of water, then a toilet flushing then a door opening. The pale white face standing there looked like death warmed over and Jason went to reach for her only to have his hand slapped and for Elizabeth to move away. "Get out!"
"Elizabeth, please let me explain." He desperately stated, he had thought this out, had planned for this day, but he had been expecting to be the one telling Elizabeth the news, not hearing it from her. "I know that you are angry..."
"Jason leave. Now. I will talk to you in a few days but right now, I can't even stand the sight of you. Get out." She whispered, her anger growing as she struggled to contain her pain. "Just go please."
"I can't." He said. "This is what we always do, we get some news that one of us can't deal with and we withdraw. I am not doing that, never again. I told you the night we had at the penthouse. I am not running, never again."
"Jason, get out of here, now." She said her voice getting louder. "Right now, I mean it, I can't even stand the sight of you. You wouldn't even claim your own son and yet, you were lying about being the father of Sonny's child. Were going to adopt a child with Sam McCall, your fiancee, Jason. Get out of here and let me calm down, seriously, Jason go."
"It wasn't like that." He tried to desperately explain. "I swear Elizabeth it wasn't like that."
"I don't want to hear it, not right now." She said, her voice now sounding flat. "Jason, go, just...go."
When Elizabeth walked over and opened the back door, Jason hesitated then moved closer then to the doorway.
"This isn't over." Jason stood there, waiting for some sort of a response, needing Elizabeth to say something, anything.
Elizabeth could be heard muttering something and Jason took heart to realize that she seemed to be reciting the bones in the hand only to be told. "Your damn right this isn't over, Jason Morgan but right now, I want to shoot you with your own damn gun then go shoot those bastards who matter so much more to you that you would deny your own child and go raise hers. Now get out!"
Ric Lansing was furious, he knew that McCall hadn't shot him, that his father had been behind it. He had gone after the McCall woman because he had been sure that Jason loved the woman, now knowing the truth, he didn't give a shit about her.
Still, with everyone looking for her, with everyone believing that she had done so, Ric was able to maneuver behind the scenes and make plans to take out his father. He was going to set it up to make it look like Morgan had done so, and he was going to use Elizabeth to do it.
Hearing his wife speaking to someone outside of his hospital room, Ric was not happy to hear Alexis speaking to her nephew at first, until he hid the need to laugh as he realized what they were talking about. Courtney was pregnant with Lucky Spencer's kid or possible the youngest Quartermaine heir.
Hearing the news about the Spencer daughter, he decided to use that information to get Lorenzo to help him take down his father. An hour later, his wife had left, Ric getting the feeling that she didn't want him to come home from the hospital tomorrow from the way she had been speaking to his doctor.
Pulling out his cell phone, he called Lorenzo, asked him to come speak to him, that he had a proposition for the other man. Lorenzo was silent then responded. "I will be there this afternoon."
Elizabeth was numb when she joined her fellow movie buffs at Kelly's. When they asked how things were, she responded. "We need to meet at my place, later. I have learned a few things that I need to talk to all of you about."
Looking around the room, seeing Monica seated nearby with the new ER doc, a few nurses nearby who were wearing the bright pink of student nurses, and several of the younger high school crowd plus a few of the workers from Corinthos Morgan, she didn't want to talk to anyone while here who could overhear what they had to say especially Detective Cruz, Lucky's partner.
Emily and Robin nodded while Maxie was rushing in and threw her purse down telling them. "You won't believe what I just heard. Its good."
Georgie who was entering with Lainey told them "Kelly is busy, there have been a lot of women asking for pregnancy tests. Turns out the serial numbers for the defective condoms were all sold in the immediate area."
"Georgie, Lulu..." Emily started to speak only for the young woman to finish.
"Pregnant and there are two possible fathers." She said with a shrug. "I heard Nik telling Alexis today when I went to be tested. Thankfully, Kelly gave me good news. Mark me safe from giving birth in nine months."
"Me too." Emily stated with a sigh of relief. "Not that I don't want kids, but right now, things are too new with Steven."
Georgie was getting ready to order when Mike exited the kitchen and asked her to help out. "Lulu never showed up and as you see, we are busy."
"Sorry, Mike, I have not had anything to eat since yesterday. When I have eaten, I will help out if you still need it but I will take the order of our group." She said taking everyone's order and getting their drinks. She was surprised to see her Aunt Bobbie was even waiting tables.
Handing the drinks out, Georgie saw Maxie smirking and asked "What?"
"Courtney Matthews is also pregnant. Dillon and Lucky are the potential fathers but Carly and she are planning on asking Jason to play daddy." She offered with a smirk. "Just think of the shock they are going to get when Eliza-"
Elizabeth put her hand over Maxie's mouth and said "Not here, not now."
The blond froze then nodded. "Okay, but they are lying."
Georgie heard the the three dings that told her that her food was up, so returning the kitchen, she trayed everything up and was soon handing out her table's food. Everyone was teasing Robin about how she ate like a starving person and never gained any weight when Courtney entered the diner and not seeing who was there as they were busy, rushed to her father. "Daddy, I'm pregnant and Jason is the father."
Emily saw Elizabeth flinch and said "Nope, not going to happen." Standing she moved over and asked "Courtney, congratulations on the news, but what about Lucky and Dillon, I thought that they were potentially the father."
"Nope, its Jason. We ran a DNA test." She said just like Carly had told her. "The tests proved it was Jason's."
"Really?" She asked then told Mike congratulations on being a grandfather then turning to Courtney asked. "When did you get the blood drawn for the DNA tests? Did you ask anyone but Jason to be tested? Where did you run them and I can I see the results?"
Frowning at the dark haired girl she said "We ran them today, after finding out I was pregnant, and at GH of course. And no, Jason doesn't want anyone else to see them until he talks to Sonny because Sonny is going to be so angry that we were sneaking around behind his back again."
"You're a liar." Emily evenly told the blond never seeing her ex-lover and Courtney's brother entering the diner with his two sons. "See, a, if you ran them at GH, they wouldn't be back this quickly, and b, its too soon to be running them, and c, because Jason and Dillon are related you would have run a more complicated test that takes six weeks. So, why don't you admit that this is a plan Carly and you concocted."
"You-you just hate me because I TOOK NIK AWAY FROM YOU." she snapped. "Everyone knows that poor orphaned Emily Quartermaine can't hold onto her man. Just like you couldn't hold onto my brother."
"Courtney, from what I heard Nik didn't even bother to let you know that he had moved on, he just brought home his new bride to find your pathetic rear still freeloading in his house." Emily said. "Now, stop lying about my brother, it only makes you look like a loser."
"No, Jason is the father of my child." She shrieked. "Not Lucky, Not Dillon, Jason!"
Maxie went to get a refill and was returning and couldn't resist telling Sonny. "Nope, he isn't, I heard Carly and her planning to do this. Seriously, does your sister have any sense I mean, everyone knew she was sleeping with Lucky, even I saw them together and then there was Dillon, Georgie saw him with her after closing one night at Kelly's.
"Your sister is a peeping tom who has nothing better to do than sneak around chasing after a boy who no longer wants her." Courtney snapped. "I saw her that night, closing the diner just like poor pathetic Lizzie. Isn't that all Georgie is, Lizzie 2.0. I made sure that she saw me, kissing Jason, I hope that Lizzie choked on it. Jason belongs to me, not her. I made damn sure of that. Why can't she get the message, the sad little artist who is chasing after my man."
There was silence in the dinner as Courtney snapped and began spilling her guts including that she had been making sure that Lizzie saw her with Jason that night, which had Bobbie curious because she listened as Courtney screamed that she had taking Jason back to her car and had sex with him in it.
The blond man standing in the doorway was standing there horrified at what he was hearing as the former waitress added. "I didn't want Jason to know that I was getting Lucky the pain pills he wanted. I wanted to teach Nik a lesson, no one but no one leaves me. So when Jason came to the diner that night, I had to hide Lucky from him, because Lucky was so angry about Lulu, so I got Jason to his car and just sexed him up."
"Courtney."
The blond turned to the wild haired man and went white as she said "What are you doing here?"
"Shit, tell me that you aren't pregnant and that it isn't mine." He asked feeling sick as he looked around the room. "What you were saying, that was us, not Jason."
"Dillon?" Seeing Lulu standing there, the young man looked between the two women and his Aunt who was sitting there staring at the blond looking sick. "I really need to talk to you. You have been avoiding me since hearing that I am pregnant."
Sonny didn't know what to say as he watched Dillon pass out and fall onto the floor. Courtney was still shouting about how she got revenge on Georgie, no, Elizabeth, no Emily. Shaking his head as his sister had a mental breakdown, he went to get her out of there only for Monica Quartermaine who had gone to check on Dillon to warn him.
"Sonny, get her out of here, now."
Mike moved forward, his eyes on his daughter, looking broken as he helped her brother get her from the building and into the nearby waiting limo. "Hey boys, we can do lunch at a later date. Your Aunt Courtney needs some rest."
Sonny counted the time it took to get the boys home and when they were fed, called Carly and told his ex-wife that they needed to talk knowing that Carly had been making plans to get back together with him, he knew she would come over immediately.
Opening the door where he had Doc Dooley watching over his sedated sister, he asked. "Is she pregnant?"
"Yes, from the paperwork she had on her from GH about four weeks." He replied then went to leave after handing all of it over to Sonny. Taking his payment, he left and went to check on the other woman he was watching over.
Sam McCall was still groggy and unsure what was going on as she listened to the doctor tell her that Jason had arranged for her to be treated that she had been attacked. Sam didn't recall that, but she knew that there was something wrong with her as she struggled to stand and walk across the room.
Jason went to the meeting with Maximus Giambetti and took him to where his son was recovering from the bullet wound. "Lansing arranged for the hit."
The blond man nodded as the big Italian told him. "I am taking my son home, Sonny has had his chance, he didn't take it. Milo wants to stay, I will allow it. I think it is time that Max gets married, and I have a bride for him. Its going to be wedding season, my youngest girl, she is also getting married to a doctor."
Jason listened amused to realize that Maximus sounded like his own grandfather as he told him that his Isadora was a doctor, too. That he was throwing a huge wedding for his little girl but a more sedate wedding for his son then got back to business.
Jason looked at the older man and asked "When is this going to happen?"
This weekend. You asked for a favor, for your marker?" Maximus was curious because Morgan was owed markers by a lot of families and he himself owed the man several. Listening as the blond man poured out the whole story, Maximus hid the need to chortle as he waited until the end and snapped "Are you sure you want to take this on?"
"Sure, no, but I don't trust anyone else." Jason restlessly admitted.
"What about Alcazar?" He inquired. "He wants territory overseas. I can give it to him, it wouldn't be a hardship, but your sister..."
"Skye and I barely know one another." He replied. "The Zacchara territory is the contentious issue."
"No, its not." The older Italian said. "I have plans. I already spoke to Anthony."
Jason exited the room and Maximus looked over at his son and told him. "You are getting married. I have a bride for you and no, its not anyone here."
Anthony Zacchara spoke to his son and then went to speak to his daughter. "Maximus Giambetti wants you for his second in command. I have agreed. You will be leaving for Italy, when you give him a son, you get my territory."
Claudia looked at her father, then asked. "What is the catch?"
"Any sons stay with him, daughters come home with you." He replied, never telling her that her wedding day was going to be her last, deal or no deal. "Lansing had offered you to Sandoval. Sandoval beat his last wife to death. NO, not happening and we would be losing territory. Your Uncle Rudy gets Lucca, we get half the Alcazar docks as they are repositioning him elsewhere."
Claudia had seen the Irish 2nd in command of Maximus Giambetti. It would be no hard life if she took this deal. "What guarantee that I am your heir?"
"Johnny is being seconded to Morgan." He replied.
Claudia grimaced because she knew that that meant her brother was being groomed for bigger and better things but she would take what she was offered for now, but once she was in charge, even if it took two or three years, she would move in and take over the Corinthos Morgan territory.
Johnny was not happy to be stuck on his father's island. There was no phone service, no internet and very few people. He knew that his father was up to something and since he knew about Georgie, Johnny was determined to get home and protect the woman he was sure that he was in love with.
Jasper Jacks listened to the tapes he had recorded of Luke Spencer, thankful for his brother Jerry's paranoia . He had bugged his own office and now he had evidence that Carly and her wily old alcoholic of an uncle had attempted to blackmail him. Jacks had hired a PI, one with no Port Charles connections.
He had heard what had gone on at Kelly's Diner earlier that day, and then the man he had turned in Corinthos household had reported what had gone on when Carly had shown up at Sonny's estate.
The Cuban had screamed and shouted at his ex-wife and his sister, telling Courtney she was leaving town until he let her come back and had told Carly that he was done with her. The blond had then made the mistake of threatening Sonny with Jason only to be told by the dark haired man that Jason had warned him that she was up to something.
An hour later, Carly had crossed paths with a woman at Jake's, during which the woman had threatened Carly and his man had it on tape. Finally, Carly had returned to the hotel and had fired Maxie Jones blaming her for telling Sonny what she had said.
Jax had made a few calls and had gotten Maxie a job with an old friend of Alexis', before calling Mac and telling him what had gone on.
Trevor Lansing was feeling pretty good as he left his former mistresses penthouse, amused to be threatened by the blond who didn't realize that he controlled her fate. Debating calling Warren James tonight, he decided to wait a few days, letting Kate sweat.
He had warned her that he knew her secrets then had revealed the one he knew she feared the most coming out. His son was no longer an issue, not that Ric had ever really been a threat to his power, but Ric could accidentally grow a brain and become a threat, so Trevor kept him occupied with his petty little concerns in that small simple minded little town on the bay.
Claudia was by now learning that she was going to be stuck being a traditional wife to a man who didn't accept a wife like her. He figured that Sandoval would kill her within a month, bringing war to the Zacchara family which suited Trevor just fine, hopefully killing off the brat who stood in his way.
All that was left was to take down the kid of the woman who had dared to leave him, who had dared to choose her child over him. Before the end of the year, he fully intended to take down Sonny Corinthos and after taking down the brains of that organization, he would walk in and take control of the whole pie.
Javier Ruiz was not a happy man, he didn't like being manipulated by anyone let alone a pissant attorney. He had plans to deal with Ric Lansing and his father.
"What about Morgan?" His second son inquired.
"He isn't a threat. I agree with what you say about his past but how much of that is because of Corinthos. We wait until Corinthos is dealt with, if he still doesn't step up and do what is right, then we step in." Javier stated then asked. "What does your brother say?"
"Mateo has taken the position at St Timothy's." Manny replied brooding at the news about Claudia Zacchara. "Are you sure that I can't marry her?"
Javier looked at his son then with a chuckle told him who she was marrying. Manny threw back his head and laughed. "Its a damn shame."
"What about Angel?" He asked.
"I don't want my throat slit on my wedding night." Manny replied then went to find what his niece was up to. "With Javier's sons, we have heirs, it might have been interesting to take on a task like Claudia but with the latest news, I guess, she won't be long for this world."
"I have an appointment with a woman." Javier told his son. "You don't want to be here for this one but come back in a half hour, we will need to talk."
Once his son had left the room, Javier walked to his office and waited. When the Russian woman entered the room, he felt the temperature drop as she nodded at him then was seated. "Mrs Cassadine, what may I do for you?"
Helena Cassadine's ice blue eyes met his and with a small smile she said "I understand that I owe you a debt of gratitude and I always pay my debts."
"Spencer." He replied.
"Yes, I understand that your son dealt with him." She replied. "I am offering a half a million."
"Bah, he isn't worth that. You may have him as a gift. A marker for him will be generously accepted. His son is also in our cross hairs."
With a nod, she accepted his offer and within minutes, Luke Spencer who was being kept in what was essentially a human size dog cage was loaded into the back of a moving van. Helena told her people to bring him to the island. "I want the knowledge of my diamond."
Luke frowned. He had been expecting to deal with mobsters, why was Helena involved and what did she mean she wanted her diamond? He hadn't had that thing since Lucky had been brainwashed.
Helena was back at her hotel suite, eager to exit the Miami area, she preferred the cold to this humid weather only to receive a phone call from her man in Port Charles. Hearing what he had to say about what had gone down in the squalid little diner, she shook her head and asked her spy. "My grandson?"
"He is being pulled in by his mother's children." The man replied. "Thankfully, he and his new wife have closed ranks, but they are now looking for Luke who they believe helped himself to some funds and ran away."
"Mr Ruiz's gift keeps giving." She replied then with a chuckle told him. "What is my duplicitous former attorney up to?"
"He seems annoyed that his plan for the McCall woman didn't take, but pleased with his maneuvering to get control."
"I want him dead. Now if you would please." She replied then hung up.
Elizabeth had gone home and spent the evening with her son, her friends were all planning on coming over the next evening as she had asked them to allow her tonight with only her son.
As she held Cameron, she saw the same signs she had been seeing for the previous four weeks regarding Jason. Elizabeth wasn't sure what to think, she was sure that there was more to the story, that in Jason's mind things were simple and she needed to try and figure out what he had been thinking, so that she could deal with him.
But right now, she was so angry with him, that she truly was scared she would shoot him with his own gun. Once Cam was in bed, Elizabeth had sat down on the sofa, then did some thinking, sure of one thing, that at the very least, she was going to have to deal with her thoughts, because she had gotten a call back from a harassed Kelly Lee who had given her some uncomfortable information.
She was pregnant and there was no doubt that Jason Morgan was the father.
Maxie was clearing out her locker at the clothes store at the Metrocourt hotel, her boss clearly unhappy about having to let her go. Maxie wasn't thrilled herself but Jax had pulled some strings and had gotten her hired as a personal shopper at Wyndhams when she had been unable to accept the job out of town.
Heading home, she thanked her boss and just told her to let it go. "Carly will get hers someday and I really, really hope that I am there to see it. She has messed around with my family for the last time."
Georgie was sitting with a few girls from her study group, feeling so much more mature then them as they gossiped and discussed the latest rumors about celebrities, and their college classmates.
Seeing Stan, she told Serena Baldwin. "I will be right back. I need to talk to Stan about something."
Walking over to the computer tech, she told him that she had gotten her latest royalties check and that she was going to show it to her father the next day and clear the air. Stan told her that he had told his mother earlier that evening.
"What did she say?" She asked.
"Momma was silent for a whole five minutes then when I told her that you were the writer and she spent an hour lecturing me then telling me that she won't be sticking up for me when your dad throws me in jail." He replied with a laugh.
"I figure that dad will have a heart attack, I was considering telling him at the hospital." Georgie said with a laugh. "Got to go."
Crossing the bar, she was stuck by the crowd at the juke box, noticing that they didn't look like the local coffee workers, she was silently going around them when she heard the name Zacchara.
"Yeah, the old man put out feelers to get his heir married." She heard. "He wants it done like yesterday."
"I heard they were marrying into the the Giambetti's. That Max oldest son is leaving and returning home to get married as well. That the youngest, Milo is remaining."
"Father is probably leaving him, he is still a little green." The other man murmured. "Still, I wonder how the son is taking the news of his move to Italy to get married."
Georgie felt sick as she realized who they were talking about. No wonder Johnny hadn't reached out, he was getting married. Still not sure how to take this, the young woman got control of herself and went to tell the others she had to head home.
Arriving at her family home, she knew she couldn't stay, so leaving a note for her father, Georgie got back into her car, and made a hotel reservation at a nearby chain hotel out near Watertown and stopped at the local convenience store and stocked up on all the necessities. A bottle of wine, using her fake ID that Luke had given her a few years ago, four quarts of ice cream, a large assortment of candy bars, popcorn, some magazines, and last but not least a pair of sharp scissors.
As forces headed to Port Charles to collide, a very strange young man got off the bus from Syracuse, determined to reclaim his beloved and prove to the man he admired that he was meant to be his grasshopper to his master.
A 757 taxied to the runway, and several passengers exited, including one who hated to fly commercial but he needed to arrive unnoticed by anyone who mattered including his brother. His brother needed his kind of help, if he ever wanted his freedom.
A private jet arrived from the Caribbean, with an angry young man determined to win his lady love and deal with his insane family unaware that another one took off for Italy, with at least two very unwilling passengers and an angry father determined to make his daughter pay.
A very large yacht silently arrived and dropped anchor off the shore of the nearby Spoon Island, awaiting further instructions while in the cargo hold a man was being tortured for information about a shiny rock.
An Amtrak train had arrived, on time which was unusual with a trio from New York City, with at least one determined to ensure that no one got away with blackmailing them while the other two were curious as to why they were along on the trip.
A car had arrived back into town, with one who was going to unknowingly start a snowball rolling that was going to set off an avalanche of miscues, mistakes and marriages. Let the games begin.
