The cop in particular was Yuji Nakamura who had done one job with the Night Raider beforehand in Nagasaki, but now they were both in Tokyo.

"I see, you remember the drill, follow my lead and obey my orders," said Night Raider

"I am aware," said Yuji

"Raider, you should cut your partner some slack, he's still new here," said Mitsuko

"He needs to learn how to be competent otherwise he's going to make the same mistakes that I made," said Night Raider

"I still think you should go easy on him, he's only just become a detective," said Mitsuko

"We'll see, but I don't want any incompetency out of this new recruit," said Night Raider

Both detectives entered the Night Raiders Ferrari Testarossa which the Night Raider put a cigarette in his mouth before driving to the scene.

"Here is the written brief, remember my orders to you, don't mess it up," said Night Raider

"Raider, may I ask, why are you so blunt to new rookies," said Yuji

"Because I was one once and I saw a case slip through my very own eyes," said Night Raider

"Was it with regards to the Cats Eye case," said Yuji

"Who told you about that," said Night Raider

"The Chief back in Nagasaki," said Yuji

"I see he would tell you, just do one thing for me," said Night Raider

"What's that," said Yuji

"Don't mention the word Cats Eye again in front of me, okay," said Night Raider

"May I ask one question regarding that case, just one," said Yuji

"If you have to, but it's not a topic I like talking about," said Night Raider

"When were the Cats Eye group arrested," said Yuji

"December 27th 1984, their trial started a few months after and then on the 28th March 1985 they were found guilty and 2 days later, they were sentenced, the case is long over and I don't want to talk about it," said Night Raider

The group arrived at the gallery which was hosting a public exhibition of various art pieces. As the Night Raider and Yuji walked in, they spotted the painting that the Syndicate had planned to steal the 'Raining City' painting which was once part of the Heinz Collection.

"Curator, what's the situation," said Night Raider

"We have heard reports that the Syndicate plans to steal this painting, we need your departments protection to ensure the painting remains in this museum," said the Curator

"Very well, what's the paintings make," said Night Raider

"It's from the Heinz Collection," said Curator

The Night Raider stopped for a bit, he remembered when he investigated the connection between Michael Heinz and Cats Eye as well as when the trial unveiled that Cats Eye were Heinz's daughters and that his collection was what Cats Eye were targeting the whole time.

"Aren't they extremely valuable," said Yuji

"They are indeed, especially after the Cats Eye Case, hopefully you both will be adequate for the task," said Curator as he left the building.

"Guard the painting, don't let anything happen to it, I'll monitor the building," said Night Raider which Yuji saluted.

The Night Raider roamed around the building looking for anything that could indicate where and when exactly the thieves were going to strike, he found some various hints and clues indicating that the syndicate were going to arrive soon.

Soon the lights were shut off and a few sleep gas canisters were thrown into the room which prompted the Night Raider to put on his gas mask in preparation to fight off the thugs.

The first thug came in where in a flash the Night Raider defeated him by punching him.

However this person was just a decoy for the real thief who had entered the room which with Yuji passed out was unguarded.

The Night Raider sensed this through as Cats Eye in the past used to deploy distraction tactics to distract officers from their presence and rushed to any possible escape route which caused the Night Raider to roam around the corridors to look for the Syndicate which he found one of them who he defeated with lightning fast martial arts moves.

As the Night Raider continued moving, he could hear a window smash which indicated they were attempting to escape with the painting, the Night Raider put on his infrared glasses to detect where the smash was and he rushed in a flash to stop the criminals by leaping about of the window and using a portable gilder, the Raider was able to fly and land on the criminal with the painting.

"Tell me who put you up to this," said Night Raider

"Why should I tell you that," said the criminal

"Because you have no choice, do you work for the Cranaff Syndicate," said Night Raider

"What if I am working for them, what are you going to do, Utsumi," said the criminal

The Night Raider kicked the criminal in the stomach before aiming a pistol at the criminal.

"Talk," said the Night Raider

"Fine, I work for the Syndicate, what do you want to know," said the criminal

"Where's Cranaff," said Night Raider

"He's in America, we're just working for him," said the criminal

"Where precisely in America," said Night Raider

"He tends to move between New York and Miami, he tends to use multiple addresses," said the criminal

"Very well, you're coming with me for questioning," said Night Raider

Later

"Nice work, capturing the criminal, Night Raider," said Mitsuko holding a thumbs up.

"It wasn't difficult, did we get any more information out of him," said Night Raider

"We haven't managed to get any more out of him," said Mitsuko

"We do know that Cranaff is operating out of America, but we also have the know how that he has many agents in Japan," said Night Raider

"Which we have to clean up, I think you need to interrogate the criminal further," said Mitsuko

"Very well," said Night Raider as he tipped his hat in acknowledgment and walked into the interview room.

"Ah, it's the dreary detective roaming around the streets of the city," said the criminal.

"You know more about this Cranaff guy, don't you," said Night Raider

"I told you everything, he operates in America and tends to transit between New York and Miami," said the criminal

"Who is Cranaff," said Night Raider

"I don't have to reveal who my boss is to you," said the criminal

The Night Raider pulls out a taser, turns it to interrogation level and fires it at the criminal. After a few minutes, the criminal began to relent.

"Fine, he is Cranaff Heinz who is the brother of Micheal Heinz, the long lost artist and the father of Cats Eye, the same Cats Eye that your former lover was apart of," said the criminal mockingly.

"That's all I needed to know," said Night Raider as he fired a stun gun to knock out the criminal and left the room.

"Did we get more information," said Mitsuko

"Cranaff is the brother of Michael Heinz, the father of Rui, Ai and (he took some time before saying the last name) Hitomi," said Night Raider

"I think you should let other officers handle this case, your past might flare up in this case," said Mitsuko

"No, I've got to take this case, I need the assistance of you and Yuji to ensure the Syndicate is destroyed and to finally move on from the past," said Night Raider.

"If that's what you want to do, I'll back you, but keep in mind it'll be tough," said Mitsuko

Later

The Criminal was in his holding cell after being carried back to it following his interrogation when he could hear footsteps before a cop appeared

"You're with the Cranaff Syndicate, aren't you," said the cop

"Maybe I am, one of your friends already got what he wanted out of me, there's nothing else you can get out of me," said the Criminal

"Really, tell me what you know about Cranaff Heinz," said the cop as he hands him an card.

The Criminals face went pale as he read the card.

"You're with the..." said the Criminal before he was knocked out with sleep spray.

"Men, take him to the base, be as covert as possible," said the cop as two men with suits took the Criminal away from the station.
