CHAPTER 264
Seth and Kyra tiptoed through the rubble of broken walls, across the edge of the hanger, and back into the office. Behind them they could hear the carnotaurs crashing about.
Seth was working toward the front of the office where he planned to spy out the window when Kyra tugged on his arm.
"Seth, stop."
"What is it?"
"This isn't right. Something's not right."
"What are you talking about?"
"We have to go back."
"What do you mean? Daniel is going to be here in a second. It's not safe to go back."
"I don't trust him."
Seth looked at Kyra, studying the worry in her eyes.
Kyra continued, "Ms. Murdock doesn't trust him. She never took her eyes off him. She was acting like he was dangerous."
"Ms. Murdock is a little crazy."
"But I think she's right."
"Where the hell is she anyway? Every time we turn around she's ditching the rest of us. Daniel is actually here."
Kyra waved her arms in frustration. "But you know she's right about Daniel."
Seth mulled it over in his head. He as well did feel there was something off about Daniel, but he was reluctant to admit it.
Kyra plead, "Seth, please."
Seth looked out the window and then back toward the hanger. He sighed, "ok. Alright." His eyes darted around some more. "Stay here."
"Seth, no. I'm coming with you."
"No. If he's dangerous or something I don't want him getting suspicious. Just stay here. I'll be right back, ok?"
Kyra's face was full of concern, but she agreed. "Alright."
