Dracula flew carrying Emily for several miles before reaching his manor and landing. He gently set Emily down and she took in the manor before her. Emily recalled stories of Dracula living in a castle, but the manor before her was smaller then a castle, and though it did have a gothic style it had a homely look to it. The front doors opened up and a knight with a handlebar axe stepped out followed by what appeared to be some zombies dressed in servant clothes. The knight bowed to Dracula and Emily was a little surprised to see that there were no living beings in the armor and that it was hollow.
"Good evening Master Dracula and welcome back. I see you brought a guest with you." Said the knight armor.
"Yes I did. This is Emily, she's a newly undead, who I rescued from an angry mob. Please make her fill welcome, as she will be staying with us for a while, until further notice." Said Dracula.
"Yes sir. Welcome Lady Emily to Dracula Manor. It is very safe here and we hope you enjoy your stay." Said the armor with a bow followed by the other servants.
"Thank you very much." Said Emily.
"The servants parted to the side as Dracula lead Emily inside.
The manor was very homey with various pictures of monsters decorating the walls. Emily studied the pictures and thought she recognized some of the monsters in them from stories. One was of a hulking giant of a man with various stitches in his body and a couple of metal bolts in his neck dressed in a black suit, who Emily recognized as Frankenstein's monster. Another showed a picture of a pair of glasses that appeared to be levitating in the air, Emily believed it to be the Invisible Man. A couple other pictures showed a fat mummy, and a tired looking brown furred werewolf wearing a light blue shirt with a striped tie and blue pants.
"Some of my closest and oldest friends. They're due to visit in a few days if you care to meet them." Said Dracula.
"They seem like interesting characters. I would love to meet them." Said Emily.
They passed what appeared to be a living room and Emily saw a large portrait of Dracula with a beautiful woman with long dark hair dressed in black.
"Dracula is married?" Thought Emily.
Emily thought about asking, but decided not to. Dracula lead Emily down a hallway to a series of rooms. He opened one door to reveal a large bedroom, with some bookshelves, and a bathroom.
"You can stay here. I'm going to let you rest and process things to see if you can get your memories back. You are free to go about the manor and explore. If you need anything just ask either the servants or me." Said Dracula.
"Thank you so much Count Dracula. I really appreciate you saving me and housing me in my home." Said Emily.
"Think nothing of it. I'm happy to help a fellow monster in need. Good night." Said Dracula with a smile and a bow.
Emily watched Dracula leave and then she closed the door and took in her new room. Emily wondered when or if her memories would return and what did her new life as an undead hold for her. These thoughts went through Emily's mind, but she chose not to let them bother her. For the first time that night Emil felt safe.
To be continued.
