It was the afternoon, and team NCCL was in the training room. Each of them was dressed in their more comfortable fighting clothes. They were prepared for another intense round of training. It is a test of their ability to work together as a team. This was no small task, especially considering the distinct personalities and styles of each member.
Neia stood at the front, her sharp eyes scanning her teammates. Her Ultimate Shooting Star Super Bow gleamed in her hands, and in her quiver appeared the arrows enhanced with Dust-infused. Each one of these arrows carried different elemental properties: fire, ice, electricity, and more. She ran her fingers over the quiver of Dust arrows at the back of her waist.
To her right was Chizu, with a replica of her Magic Gun, which was enhanced to fire bullets and infused with various types of Dust. The replica was made recently after sending information back to the Sorcerer Kingdom, which not only includes detailed information about Dust, but also the different ways to use it. This information hurried the creation of the replica.
Across from them stood Lupusregina Beta and Clementine, their opponents for today. Lupusregina's bright and cheerful demeanor was betrayed by the intimidating weapon in her hand, a copy of her crosier tipped with a menacing scepter that gleamed with Dust. The replica of her weapon also added a spinning cross at its tip hummed with Dust power. Lupusregina was playfully twirling it as if the scepter was roulette.
Clementine, on the other hand, was silent and distant. She tapped her Stilettos, their edges shimmering with a deadly Dust infusion, ready to cause significant damage upon contact. She was annoyed about the idea of training in their teamwork.
Neia's voice cut the silence. "Alright, we need to focus on coordination today. CZ and I will take the lead in strategy. Lupusregina, Clementine, you'll handle close-quarters combat."
CZ nodded, holding her Magic Gun already aimed with precision.
Lupusregina grinned, her fangs showing. "I'm ready to try to play with this new toy."
Clementine remained silent, her gaze narrowing slightly, but she gave no indication of disagreement.
Neia walked to the control panel situated at one side of the room. She had familiarized herself enough with the technology to set up timers. Once she was ready, she walked back to Chizu's side.
The signal for the match began with a sharp buzz from the control panel, and instantly, Neia and CZ sprang into action, moving as a single, well-oiled unit. Neia took the lead, nocking an arrow and pulling the string of the Ultimate Shooting Star Super Bow as if she were an expert. The arrow she chose was laced with Ice Dust, and as she released it, the arrow flew with speed toward Lupusregina.
Lupusregina's eyes glinted as she spun her crosier, its tip glowing with fire Dust as it deflected the arrow in a flash of ice and fire. She twirled forward, closing the distance between her and Neia with a playful laugh. "Too slow!"
But CZ was already on her, unleashing a barrage of Dust-infused bullets from her Magic Gun. The rounds zipped through the air, crackling with electricity, but Lupusregina deftly avoided them, twirling and weaving her crosier as if the big weapon was weightless. The elemental forces clashed, sparks flying as the room heated with the intensity of their fight.
Meanwhile, Clementine silently darted forward, her Stilettos flashing with Dust-infused energy as she targeted CZ. Her strikes were fast, brutal, and precise, but Chizu anticipated her every move, countering each attack with calculated precision. CZ's unemotional demeanor seemed to frustrate Clementine, but the former Black Scripture said nothing, pressing harder with each strike.
Neia's eyes flicked between her teammates, calculating quickly. She switched arrows, this time pulling one infused with Lightning Dust, and fired it at Clementine, forcing the blonde fighter to leap back and break her assault. Clementine glared but still said nothing, her grip tightening on her weapons.
"Clementine, support Lupusregina," Neia called.
Clementine hesitated for a split second but followed the command, joining Lupusregina in attacking Neia directly. They worked in brutal harmony, Clementine's precision strikes paired with Lupusregina's wild swings of her crosier.
Their formidable offensive caused Neia to receive some damage but was aided by Chizu, who countered their strikes.
Neia fired arrow after arrow, covering CZ's position as the gynoid delivered precise, electrifying shots that kept Clementine and Lupusregina at distance.
It wasn't long before the tide began to turn.
Lupusregina couldn't parry one of CZ's bullets, infused with Ice Dust, freezing its spinning scepter for a crucial moment. Neia capitalized on this, shooting an Ice Dust arrow that struck Lupusregina's leg, freezing her in place.
Clementine let out an angry hiss, attempting to cover for her immobilized teammate, but Neia's next arrow, carrying a payload of fire Dust, forced her back. CZ advanced relentlessly, her Magic Gun's rounds whizzing through the air as she methodically dismantled Clementine's defenses.
The match ended when Neia fired a final electric Dust arrow at Clementine, forcing her to drop her weapons as the electricity surged through her body. CZ followed up with a well-placed shot to Lupusregina's crosier, knocking it out of her hands.
The training room fell silent, save for the soft hum of dissipating Dust energy.
Neia straightened, lowering her bow, her breathing controlled. "Good work, everyone."
CZ merely nodded in agreement, her Magic Gun retracting into standby mode.
Lupusregina, still frozen from the waist down, laughed sheepishly. "Guess we'll need to work on our defenses a bit more."
Clementine, on the other hand, said nothing. She only frowned as she silently picked up her Stilettos. She wiped them and sheathed them without a word and moved toward the exit.
"Clementine," Neia called after her. "We need to work together better. You can't go off on your own like that."
Clementine paused but didn't turn around. After a moment of silence, she muttered, "I am here to do my work, not to become friends."
Neia watched her retreating form, frowning slightly. She glanced at Lupusregina, who shrugged. The leader of team NCCL sighed, "And I thought that you and Clementine were already friends."
Lupusregina, already without ice, scratched her cheek, "yeah. Clemy-tan is not so easy, but she is opening up."
Neia raised an eyebrow, "really?"
The wolf Pleiade shrugged, "who knows? But I think so."
And with that, they left the training room.
Neia then walked close to the three remaining teammates. "After showering we could go to the city. I heard that Atlas' army is going to make a presentation. The Kingdom of Atlas is known for being militaristic, so we may learn more about them." Chizu nodded to that suggestion, but Lupusregina said nothing.
After a quick shower, Lupusregina received a phone call on her scroll. When she picked up the call, the number marked appeared as unknown.
"Oha!"
"Hey, Lupusregina!" A male's voice came through, dripping with his usual attempt at suave confidence. "It's Neptune. Cool guy, awesome fighter, and uh… the guy on your phone right now."
Lupusregina's eyes narrowed playfully, a playful grin spreading across her face. "Oh, you," she said, drawing out the words in a tone of mock realization. "How did you get my number?"
"I have my ways," Neptune said confidently.
"What? Are you trying to become a stalker?" she teased, laughing lightly.
"No-no-no! It was given to me by force." Neptune sounded desperate.
"Aha," said the Pleiade, rolling her eyes.
"I promise I'll tell you how I got it later, but I called you because I actually need your help. And it's kind of urgent."
Lupusregina's playful demeanor didn't waver. "Oh? What's so urgent?" she asked, already entertained by how this conversation was going to end.
"Well… um… I'm outside," Neptune said, his voice dropping to a lower, more conspiratorial tone.
"Outside where?"
"Team RWBY's room."
That gave Lupusregina pause, and her grin was replaced by a look of confusion. "You're outside their room? What, like… in the hall?"
"No, no. Outside their window," Neptune clarified, somehow it felt like his confidence left for a moment. "I was following my team leader, Sun. You know, doing the whole 'buddy system' thing, making sure he doesn't get into too much trouble. But now I'm, uh… standing on the edge of the wall outside RWBY's window. And I think this is taking a little too long."
Lupusregina blinked. She stopped in the middle of the hallway, her scroll still pressed to her ear as she processed what Neptune had just said. "Wait… so you're telling me you're hanging off the side of the building?"
"…Yeah."
"And you thought the best thing to do was to call me instead of jumping down like a normal huntsman?"
"…Well, Sun's doing the sneaky thing, and I didn't want to mess up his plan. Plus, it is quite high, and it seemed like a good idea at the time."
Lupusregina sighed dramatically, though her amusement was clear. "You know, Neptune, you really are something. But you're lucky I'm in a good mood today."
"Really? You'll help me?"
"Hmm…" Lupusregina grinned, her fangs glinting in the low light of the hallway. "No."
And with that, she hung up the phone.
She could almost hear the panic from Neptune on the other side as the call ended. Shrugging nonchalantly, she continued down the hallway until she found herself in front of Team RWBY's door. It wasn't locked. Typical.
Without a second thought, Lupusregina pushed the door open and strolled inside, the slight creak of the door announcing her presence. Once she entered the room, she found the whole team RWBY standing in the middle of the room, dressed in different outfits from what they normally wear.
"Do you know not how to knock the door?" said Weiss.
"Do you mind? We are in the middle of something," said Blake.
Lupusregina smiled, "Oh, I thought you may want to know that you have a peeping Tom when you were changing outfits."
"WHAT?" yelled the four members of team RWBY.
Lupusregina smirked and pointed at the window where a yellow monkey tail was haggling and suddenly moved up to hide.
"Sun?!" yelled Blake.
The monkey faunus then showed up upside-down in their open window as he was hanging using his tail.
Blake was with her face hiding behind her hands, ashamed of what Sun did after she tried to make her team look at Sun as a good person. In contrast were Weiss and Yang. Weiss was furious, but Yang was the angriest of them all as she thought that Sun was watching Ruby while she was undressing.
"I knew he was a degenerate," said Weiss.
"Wait, wait, wait," said Sun. He jumped inside the room to try to talk with the girls. "I have a real reason to do this."
"I don't care about your reasons. I care about how I am going to break all your limbs," said Yang, cracking her knuckles.
While team RWBY was ready to kill Sun, Lupusregina approached the window casually; she peered out to see Neptune gripping the ledge with a nervous expression as he stood precariously on the narrow edge. His scroll was still in his hand as if hoping she'd call back.
Lupusregina gave him a slow wave, her grin widening as she leaned against the windowsill.
"Hey there, Neptune," she called out. "Having fun?"
Neptune just laughed nervously. The Pleiade stretched out her hand to help him in. And when he reached out to her, she pulled him suddenly into the room. Neptune entered the room surprisingly with style.
"I swear I didn't see anything," said Sun, who was still talking to team RWBY. "I just wanted to talk to you and check if you were finally getting back at that Torchwick guy."
Blake sighed, "We are going to investigate the situation... as a team."
"Sorry, Sun," said Ruby. "But we don't want to get friends involved if we don't have to."
Sun waved his hand, "Pish! That's dumb! We should always get friends involved! That's why I brought Neptune!" Sun gestured out the window.
"Ah, I am here," said Neptune, who was standing next to Lupusregina at the end of the room.
Sun frowned and looked at the window and then at Neptune a couple of times. "When-How did you get in?"
Neptune shrugged and, with a charismatic smile, lied and pointed at the door, "a few seconds ago, and using the door."
"So," Lupusregina interrupted. "What's this whole talking about the Fancy Fop?"
"Who?" asked Ruby, scratching her head. Yang leaned to her sister, "She is talking about Torchwick."
Weiss face palmed, "look. This is a team mission."
Ruby put a finger on her chin as if thinking, "Yeah, but. Yang and Blake will be quite exposed out there. Maybe they can help us… you know, to cover our backs."
Blake sighed and looked at Sun. "I guess I do need a partner."
"Great!" said Ruby. "I'll go with Weiss. Sun, Lupusregina, you can go with Blake. Being a Faunus can help with gathering information from the White Fang."
Sun smirked at Blake, but then Lupusregina walked to Blake's other side, and Sun's confidence went down.
Ruby then pushed the remaining male, "and Neptune. You can go with Yang since she doesn't have a partner. Everyone good?"
"Actually, Ruby, why don't you go with Yang? After all, she is your sister." Said Weiss to her team leader.
Ruby turned to see Weiss once Neptune was next to Yang. Ruby's face was of confusion, "But, Weiss, who would go with you, then?"
Weiss tried to put a nonchalant face, "Well... I guess Neptune could come with me." And Ruby only snorted before saying, "Nah."
Ruby then took Weiss out of the room and left the place, leaving the rest inside.
"So," started Yang. "I guess it is kind of early for me to go visit my friend. I guess we can just chill for a couple of more hours."
Blake nodded, "the White Fang meeting normally takes place after the evening to give time to those who work to be present."
Lupusregina then turned to Blake, "Well, well, I see this was your plan all along. Making me get me into your old gang!" The Pleiade then giggled while Blake turned away.
Yang turned to see Blake with a curious look, and the Cat Faunus defended herself, "I-I didn't try to get her in. She is just messing with me."
Yang chuckled, "Easy. I know you were not." Then the blonde girl turned to see the rest and realized something. Blake and Sun were defensive around Lupusregina, and Neptune was influenced by Lupusregina, but in a completely different way. She realized that with only her presence, the Wolf faunus imposed herself among others.
"Say, Lupu." Started Yang. "Where is the rest of your team?"
Lupusregina scratched her head, "they were going to the city. Something about Atlas presentation, or something."

The air inside the grand halls of Nazarick's Fifth Floor was cold. There was frosty wind coming from nowhere. There was a thin mist floating above the floor as Shalltear, Cocytus, and the Great King Ainz Ooal Gown walked through the icy floor. The cold did nothing to the two undead and, of course, nothing to Cocytus. In fact, the weather was comforting for Cocytus, as this was his domain. Towering walls of ice around them, with intricate carvings and frozen relics on the walls like trophies.
Their stroll into the depths of Cocytus domain was something Shalltear suggested. Not so long after, she transported a machine thanks to the information Clementine had gathered. A machine whose appearance was closer to Cocytus, but unfortunately, they were not knowledgeable enough to know how it worked, and CZ2128 was the one who could be able to understand it.
Shalltear, though, has another reason to walk there.
Shalltear's red eyes looked curiously around. She watched the various weapons: blades, spears, and armor from adversaries who had been beaten by Cocytus. "Very impressive," Shalltear said. "Do you collect these as trophies? Weapons of those you've defeated, I take it?"
Cocytus, walking with a spear in his hand, his exoskeletal body glistening with frost, nodded slowly. "Each weapon… holds a story. The battle fought… the warrior who wielded it… and the moment they fell. A warrior's spirit… resides in their weapon. It is only fitting… to honor their strength… by preserving these."
Shalltear nodded. "I see. Do any of them stand out to you? Surely some were more of a challenge than others?"
Cocytus turned his insect-like face, and he caressed his mandibles as he considered the question. "Every battle… is a test of strength and strategy. However… there are those who… though weak in comparison… showed tenacity and bravery… that is worthy of respect. It is not only strength… but the heart of a warrior."
Shalltear was about to respond when her eyes fell upon a different sight, something not of metal or weaponry but a frozen figure encased in ice. Her playful smile appeared. The figure within the ice was the beginning of her mistake a while back, Brian Unglaus, the bandit who she should have killed right away. His body was perfectly preserved in the icy tomb, his face still the determination that marked his final moments.
She stopped, her heels tapping sharply against the floor, and turned toward Cocytus with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Ah, and what of this one?" she asked, her voice teasing yet inquisitive. "This is a rare trophy, surely?"
Cocytus stiffened, and his posture immediately bristled with irritation. His mandibles clicked with barely restrained anger, and a cold breeze blew, "He… is not a trophy."
Cocytus' insect eyes looked at Shalltear. "He was a warrior. He may not have been… our equal... but his resolve… his will to fight despite... his weakness… was commendable. This is not... a symbol of victory… but a mark of respect… for a warrior... who stood against overwhelming odds. He deserves... to be remembered… not as a mere prize… but as a warrior who... overpassed the limits of his race." Cocytus' voice was serious.
Shalltear's smirk vanished, and started to think. She placed a finger on her lip, considering for a moment before speaking. "Respect, you say? Interesting." She took a step closer to the frozen body, her eyes gleaming with a new idea. "If you respect him that much, then why not give him another chance?"
Cocytus' eyes narrowed as he tilted his head slightly, curious. "Another… chance?"
Shalltear turned to look at Ainz, gauging his reaction, before continuing. "Yes. Let's revive him. Allow him to stand once more and serve Ainz-sama. He was a strong warrior in his own way, was he not? Wouldn't it be the ultimate form of respect to give him the opportunity to do the right thing, to serve Nazarick and be loyal to Ainz-sama?"
Cocytus fell silent, thinking. The frozen body of Brain Unglaus reflected in his gaze as he mulled over the idea. Reviving a human warrior, a fallen adversary, was not a decision to take lightly. He turned to Ainz, seeking guidance.
Ainz stood calmly between them, his imposing skeletal form radiating authority. But inside, his thoughts were a tornado of confusion. 'Who is this man? Why does Cocytus care so much about him? And… another chance? What did he do wrong the first time? Wait, that man looks familiar. Wasn't he there when I killed Gazef Stronoff?' Despite his internal turmoil, Ainz maintained his composure, nodding solemnly.
"I trust both of you," the Great King said with a commanding yet calm voice, though inside, he did not know what was happening. "Cocytus, if you believe this warrior deserves another chance, then I support your decision."
Cocytus turned back to Shalltear, his expression thoughtful. After a long, heavy pause, he finally spoke. "Very well. If Ainz-sama… agrees, then I shall… honor Brain Unglaus… by giving him a second chance. But know this, Shalltear… his loyalty must be unwavering. He will be given the opportunity to serve… and he must prove himself worthy."
Shalltear smiled a dangerous, satisfied smile. "Of course. I wouldn't expect anything less."
As Cocytus began the process of preparing to revive Brain Unglaus, Shalltear glanced once more at Ainz, her red eyes dancing with amusement. Ainz gave her a silent nod, though inside, his mind was still racing. What have I just agreed to?

The moon was starting to show, and the streets of Vale were as busy as they could be, with people going to all places with their cars and walking. The noise of the cars and the buzzing of the people talking make it easier for someone to walk without getting too much attention, especially if they suddenly turn to enter alleyways.
Blake, Lupusregina, and Sun were in one of those alleyways. Lupusregina was guiding them, telling them that her nose was helping her find the place where more faunus were gathered, but in reality, she was only guiding them to the address where Clementine said she had found one of her victims.
Blake turned to see a mark on the wall, close to a corner. It was three scratch marks, and Blake knew too well what it meant. She stopped her partners and took a look at what was around the corner. She then saw a couple of Faunus as they were guided into a building by a bearded man.
"This is it," said Blake with a calm voice but with a frown look.
"Are you sure?" asked Sun.
Lupusregina leaned to Blake, "You sure we need him?"
Blake sighed and continued walking and then took some masks from her bag and handed them to Sun and Lupusregina. "We're going to need masks," she said matter-of-factly.
"I'd prefer going without one. I don't like wearing masks. I... didn't have a good time last time I used one," Lupusregina admitted grudgingly.
"Yeah, me neither," said Sun. "In fact, why do the White Fang use masks? If you believe what you're doing is right, why hide who you are?"
Blake removed her bow and revealed her ears, and Lupusregina took her cap for a moment to show her pointy wolf ears, and for some reason, she looked more feral.
Blake adjusted her mask before responding to Sun, her voice steady. "The masks are a symbol," she explained. "Humanity wanted to make monsters out of us, so we chose to don the faces of monsters."
Sun grumbled, crossing his arms. "Always sunshine and rainbows with you."
Without further words, the three of them moved toward the entrance of the warehouse. At the doorway stood a tall White Fang member dressed in the organization's signature uniform, his mask covering his face. He stepped aside, allowing them to pass without a word.
Inside, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. The warehouse was crowded, with numerous faunus gathered. On the right side of the room, some wore civilian clothing but had the same kind of masks that Blake, Sun, and Lupusregina were now wearing. Uniformed White Fang members filled the majority of the space, all eyes focused on the stage at the far end of the room. A giant black flag with the White Fang symbol, painted in a striking red, hung behind the platform, adding to the ominous atmosphere.
After a few moments, the murmurs of conversation died down as a masked man in a White Fang uniform stepped onto the platform. He raised his hands, commanding attention. "Thank you all for coming," he began, his voice projecting across the place. "For those of you who are joining us for the first time tonight, allow me to introduce a very special comrade of ours! I can assure you, he is the key to obtaining what we have fought for so long!"
His words hung in the air, stirring murmurs from the crowd as they awaited further revelation. Then, from behind the curtain, a familiar figure emerged, and the murmur of the crowd turned into angry shouts. Roman Torchwick, wearing his usual smug grin and holding his signature cane, gave a mocking bow to the faunus gathered before him. His voice full with sarcasm as he addressed the crowd. "Ah, thank you, thank you! It's always lovely to receive such a warm welcome."
The faunus, seeing a human before them, erupted into boos and angry shouts. Blake and Sun exchanged tense glances, staying silent and observing how everything evolved, but Lupusregina joined in, booing enthusiastically with the rest of the crowd. Blake frowned and held her arm. "What are you doing?" she asked in a hushed tone.
Lupusregina flashed her a grin. "Mixing up with the crowd," she replied cheerfully and then grabbed Blake's wrist, making her let go of her arm. Blake stepped back and caressed her wrist.
Suddenly, a deer faunus from the crowd shouted, "What's a human doing here?"
Roman took that as a queue and started to talk. "I am glad you ask deery," Roman began, his tone slightly condescending. "I know, I know. Humans are the worst, right?" He moved his hand to himself, "Case in point."
He paced slowly across the stage, his cane tapping against the floor. "So, I understand why you would like to see us all locked away or, better yet, killed!"
"But... we have a common enemy, don't we?" At that moment, the crowd started to calm and listen to him. "The ones in control, the people pulling the strings, the dirty, rotten humans that run our kingdoms! Government, military, and even schools. They're all to blame for your lot in life! And they're all pests that need to be dealt with!"
The crowd began to settle, their anger shifting focus as Roman's words stirred something inside them. "Fortunately for you," he continued, a sly smile spreading across his face, "I'm the best exterminator around. No offense to any rodents in the room."
At that moment, it was clear he was winning the crowd over, but then he continued gaining more popularity among the White Fang. Roman moved to the side of the platform, and with a dramatic flourish, he unveiled a massive machine hidden behind the curtains. The crowd cheered at the sight. Standing at least twice as tall as Roman, the machine had hinged piston legs, large guns for hands, and a rectangular head that gave it an imposing, almost monstrous appearance.
Lupusregina's eyes widened in awe. "I bet CZ knows how to ride one of those!" she said excitedly.
Blake and Sun, on the other hand, exchanged worried glances. "How did he get his hands on that?" Sun muttered under his breath.
Roman answered that question as if hearing Sun's thoughts. "This fine piece of engineering? Courtesy of the kingdom of Atlas." He patted the machine affectionately. "Thanks to my employer, we've managed to snag a few before they, uh, 'hit the shelves.' And now, they're all yours... if you're ready to fight for your future."
The crowd was clearly into it, some murmuring in agreement with Roman's words, others cheering. "Now, many of your brothers have already moved down to our new operation in the southeast," Roman continued, "You can stay in Vale, sure. But if you're truly ready to fight for what you believe in, this is the arsenal I can provide you. Any questions?" And just as Roman ended his speech, the whole White Fang was already cheering.
Blake nudged Sun and Lupusregina. "We need to leave. Now," she whispered.
Lupusregina pouted dramatically. "But I wanted to see more of the show!"
"We've got what we came for," Blake insisted. "We need to move before things get worse."
Just as they turned to leave, one of the White Fang members stepped forward. "New recruits, step forward!" he called, eyeing the crowd.
Blake and Sun remained perfectly still, trying not to draw attention, but Lupusregina leaned toward them. "We should move, at least slowly," she whispered. "We're sticking out more by not moving."
Unfortunately, it was already too late. Roman's eyes scanned the crowd, and when they landed on Sun, his grin faltered for just a second before throwing his cigarette.
Sun leaned in to whisper to Blake and Lupusregina, panic creeping into his voice. "He sees us."
Blake's eyes darted around the warehouse and spotted a junction box on the far wall. "He can see in the dark," she murmured, unsheathing Gambol Shroud and transforming it into its pistol form. Without hesitation, she fired a shot at the junction box, and the warehouse plunged into darkness.
"The window!" Blake yelled.
Lupusregina wasted no time. She leaped toward a nearby window and smashed through it, landing gracefully outside. Sun and Blake followed right behind her, tumbling into the alley and then jumping over the rooftop of another warehouse.
As they were still running away, Lupusregina smirked and glanced at Blake. "You didn't pay attention in class, did you?"
Blake, still running, asked. "What?"
Lupusregina grinned. "Some faunus can see better in the dark, and that machine back there? I bet it can too."
As if on cue, the wall of the warehouse exploded outward, debris scattering across the alley. The massive machine Roman had unveiled earlier stepped through the wreckage.
Blake's eyes widened in horror. "You've got to be kidding me!" she muttered as the machine's heavy footfalls echoed behind them.
The three kept running from the machine, jumping from roof to roof. Then Sun asked, "So you wouldn't happen to have... oh, I don't know... some form of backup?!"
Blake, still jumping, took her scroll, "on it!"
She opened the scroll, opened the group chat of her team, and made a call to all of them, "Everyone! If you can hear me, we need backup." Behind Blake, Sun yelled "Help!" to the scroll.
The robot then used its arms to attack, Blake and Sun jumped to the sides to dodge it, but the scroll ended up in Sun's hands.
"Big robot! And it's big! Really big! That Torchwick guy is in it! But not, like, it didn't eat him; he's, like, controlling it or something!" said Sun, panicking.
"Guys!" yelled Lupusregina. "We should move this…" Lupusregina stopped when she realized that she was alone. She looked around and heard the sounds of cars hitting breaks and using the claxon. She turned to see in that direction and then used [fly] to check what was happening from the skies.
She saw how Blake and Sun were jumping above some cars while they were on a highway road. She noticed that behind the robot was Yang's motorcycle, but also did the robot as it started to throw some of the vehicles toward them.
The Pleiade facepalmed, "Are they trying to save the place or to destroy it?"
More cars were sent towards Yang, and then Neptune used his weapon, and I stuck it in the machine. Suddenly, Sun used what appeared to be his semblance, some kind of 'light' clone. He used it to try to help Neptune, but with a quick movement, Neptune and Sun were thrown away.
Suddenly, another member of RWBY's team appeared at the center of the road, Weiss. She turned the road into ice, making it difficult for the machine to stay running, and fell to one side, but it recovered quickly.
Lupusregina saw how the whole team RWBY was assembled and wondered what she should do. She was sure that team RWBY could handle it, but she also wanted to have fun. She was starting to decide to go and help them when she remembered when she was scolded by the Supreme One.
'Think, think. What would the Supreme One have done?' She then tried to recall what he had done and remembered that her mission was to be the best huntress, and that meant helping people. So, instead of going to the fight, she flew down to the highway and started to help the people trapped in their vehicles.
She descended, landing gracefully beside an overturned vehicle. Inside, a family of four was trapped, their terrified faces peering out from the cracked windows.
"Hang tight," Lupusregina said, and with a quick motion, she gripped the car's door and wrenched it open, freeing the family. One by one, she helped them out, guiding them to safety on the side of the road.
As she moved to the next car, Lupusregina spotted a small boy, no older than five, lying on what was the roof of the car. Blood trickled down his forehead, and he was crying loudly while his mother desperately tried to comfort him.
Lupusregina threw away the door open and helped the family out. Then she went close to the small child and smiled playfully at him. The mother looked at her confused, but then the Pleiade placed a hand over the boy's wound, and Lupu's hand glowed briefly with a soft white light. The bleeding stopped instantly, and the cut closed as if it had never been there. The boy's crying stopped, his wide eyes staring at Lupusregina in awe.
His mother, tears of relief welling in her eyes, thanked her profusely. Lupusregina grinned, scratching the back of her head. "No problem! Just doing my job." With a cheerful wave, she continued moving through the wreckage, helping anyone else who was trapped.
By the time the police and paramedics arrived, most of the civilians were already safe, standing in groups on the side of the highway, shaken but unharmed. Lupusregina stood back, watching as the paramedics tended to those who still needed help, though there weren't many. The police then began directing traffic and preparing to escort the civilians to nearby hospitals.
The next day, in the Beacon Academy cafeteria, Team RWBY and Team JNPR sat together, enjoying breakfast after the previous night's intense battle. The large screen mounted on the wall displayed the morning news, which caught Yang's attention.
"Hey, everyone," she said, nudging Blake and pointing at the screen. "Looks like they're talking about last night's fight."
The rest of the group turned their heads, watching intently. The reporter on-screen was standing in front of a section of the highway that had been heavily damaged during the battle. Behind her, the remains of vehicles were being towed away, and construction crews were already working to repair the road.
"Last night, Vale witnessed a terrifying encounter involving a giant machine that wreaked havoc on one of the city's main highways," the reporter began. "The machine, controlled by the notorious Roman Torchwick, was confronted by several huntresses who engaged in a fierce battle that caused significant destruction."
Yang's eyes lit up with excitement. "I bet they're going to mention us!"
She leaned back in her chair with a proud smirk. "We did kick some serious butt."
However, as the footage continued to play, the CCTV cameras captured various moments of the battle: the machine throwing cars, the chaos on the highway, and Team RWBY fighting against it. But instead of praising the team's efforts, the reporter's tone grew more critical.
"While the huntresses managed to stop the machine, the fight itself resulted in extensive damage to the highway and left dozens of civilians in harm's way," the reporter said. "Many vehicles were thrown by the machine, causing numerous injuries."
Yang's smile faded as she exchanged a confused look with Weiss. "Wait… they're blaming us?"
Blake's ears drooped slightly as she stared at the screen, visibly frustrated. "We did fight in a populated area."
Then, the reporter's tone shifted again, but this time with a note of praise. "However, amidst the chaos, one individual emerged as a hero. This faunus huntress, identified as Lupusregina Beta, was seen helping numerous civilians, personally saving many from harm's way. Thanks to her quick thinking and bravery, many lives were saved last night."
The screen then cuts to an interview with Lupusregina, standing casually with her usual playful grin. "It was nothing, really," she said to the reporter, waving her hand dismissively. "Just saw a few people who needed help and figured I'd pitch in. It's my duty as a huntress in training to protect, right?"
The camera then changed to show some clips from the civilians who had been caught in the fight. One woman, holding her son, the same boy Lupusregina had healed, spoke tearfully to the reporter. "She saved us. My boy... I don't know what would've happened if she hadn't been there. But... those other huntresses, they didn't care that we were in the middle of all of it."
The boy's mother wasn't alone in her sentiments. Other survivors, while praising Lupusregina, expressed anger and frustration toward the huntsmen and huntresses involved in the fight, blaming them for the destruction.
The screen now presented the reporter again, "We still don't have an official report from the Atlas Kingdom on how their machinery that had just been unveiled ended up in the hands of a notorious criminal."
Ruby slumped in her seat, her excitement now completely deflated.
Weiss crossed her arms, her face tightening in annoyance. "We did damage the highway, but we were not the ones who threw their cars. That is just typical. The media always twists things to make it look like we're the bad guys."
Yang groaned and rubbed her temples. "Unbelievable. We risk our lives, and they're calling us reckless?"
Meanwhile, Lupusregina strolled into the cafeteria, her usual carefree attitude unchanged as she spotted the group watching the news. "Oh hey, they're talking about last night!" she said, plopping down at the table with a wide grin.
Jaune leaned forward, impressed. "Oh Lupusregina. They are talking about you on the TV. People love you, it seems."
Lupusregina shrugged casually. "Well, I do what I can. Plus, you know... it's good PR."
Yang couldn't help but let out a small, frustrated sigh. "Well, at least someone came out of this looking like a hero."
