Chapter 23 Kitchen Chaos

Mavis sensed something was up when she headed into the hotel and entered the lobby to find no sign of Johnny. She immediately asked one of the enchanted suits of armor if they had spotted Johnny or anything unusual recently.
"Chef Quasimodo was seen carrying a tied up Johnny towards the kitchen. Some guest asked Quasimodo what he was doing with Johnny and he told them, Johnny had insulted his honor as a chef, so he was going to make Johnny assist him in making a special dish." Said the suit of armor.
A feeling of fear went through Mavis that quickly turned into rage as she quickly flew towards the kitchen.
Johnny was still tied up and gagged laying next to one of the kitchen walls as Quasimodo chopped a few vegetables up and put them in a large pot that looked big enough to put a full grown person in. Quasimodo hummed a little tune as he he sharpened a few knives, before he went over to Johnny and removed the gag.
"Look man, I get you're a monster that doesn't like humans and is just trying to protect your people, but I'm not a threat! Dracula and some of the other monsters know what I am and we're friends. So why don't we just calm down and talk before we do something we regret." Said Johnny trying to defuse the situation and use diplomacy.
"Not going to happen human. I don't believe a word you've said. You're kind are notorious liars and manipulators. I've been betrayed and mistreated by humans way too many times." Said Quasimodo.
"I'm sorry about that, but I'm telling you the truth! Please just untie me and I'll prove it." Said Johnny.
"The only thing you're going to prove is how tasty you are when I serve you as the main course for the guests." Said Quasimodo.
"That's pretty dark man. I don't taste good!" Said Johnny.
Quasimodo just laughed as he raised a large clever up in the air. The doors to the kitchen were then thrown open as Mavis flew in on the scene.
"Don't you dare touch or season him!" Yelled Mavis as she marched towards Quasimodo.
"Lady Mavis! What a surprise! I caught a human pretending to be a monster! He was most likely spying on us and planning to tell the world about the hotel! Don't you worry I'll make him pay and serve him up for dinner! I'll even let you decide what bit of him you want!" Said Quasimodo thinking Mavis would be pleased at what he had done.
"Johnny is a guest at the hotel and a friend to me and my family. You will not be serving him up or telling anyone about his real identity!" Said Mavis as she glared at a confused Quasimodo and untied Johnny.
"Sacrebleu! The human must be using his powers to get you to side with him and his kind! Never fear Lady Mavis, I shall quickly put an end to this!" Said Quasimodo as he tried to lung at Johnny and strike him.
Mavis quickly grabbed Johnny and pulled him away from Quasimodo. The chief let out a snarl as he hurled the clever at Johnny, but Mavis pulled him away in time and the cleaver became stuck in the wall. Quasimodo cursed as he grabbed more knives and some forks and hurled them at Johnny, but Mavis quickly dodged about keeping Johnny from getting hit. The chef grabbed a frying pan and leaped at Mavis, who just about had enough of the chef and used her vampire powers to freeze Quasimodo's body and made him crash to the ground frozen like a statue.
"Stay down!" Hissed Mavis her eyes glowing red.
"Awesome! You were amazing Mavis and you really saved my bacon." Said Johnny looking at Mavis in amazement.
"Thanks." Said Mavis with a smile.
Dracula and Emily then burst into the kitchen and saw everything.
"Are you two ok?" Asked Emily.
"We're fine mom, though I did have to freeze Quasimodo. He found out Johnny was human and tried to kill him." Said Mavis.
"Impressive." Said Dracula looking at the frozen and stiff form of Quasimodo.
"So what should we do with him?" Asked Mavis.
"Don't you worry, will make sure he forgets everything about Johnny." Said Dracula.
"You two go relax and have fun." Said Emily.
Mavis and Johnny nodded and the two of them left the kitchen. Dracula focused on Quasimodo and looked him straight in the eyes and used his powers on him.
"You will completely forget about Johnny and any time you do happen to be near him and think you smell a human you will ignore the smell and continue on with your business." Said Dracula.
"You will also be more calm and polite to your kitchen staff." Said Emily.
Dracula repeated what his wife said and then released Quasimodo, who seemed a bit more chipper as he went back to work. Emily and Dracula left the kitchen.
