(A/N): A second Jerremyah POV chapter, yay! Blood is provided for Greygorry and Leo to heal their injuries, Jerremyah talks about how the clan most likely came to have a supply of human blood, and briefly gives some perspective on his control issues.

Jerremyah

After Leo and Greygorry had discussed what they wanted to do about Dahrya- who was apparently Greygorry's daughter- Lisbet herded us all inside to the kitchen, in order for the injured parties to get some blood into them so they could heal. Hercules helped me support Greygorry inside- I could have done it without his help, but Greygorry's head would have lolled and caused him unnecessary pain, and possibly further injury, and Hercules had wordlessly offered his assistance, so I had accepted it.

Speaking of injuries... Good Lord, when Lisbet had told me that Leo was stronger than he looked, and Danniel had said he'd seen him, 'pop the head off a guy with his bare hands, with ease', I had thought they were both exaggerating- but no. No, I didn't think they were. One punch, and Leo had nearly knocked Greygorry's head off his shoulders- that would have been an embarrassing cause of death to write out on a tombstone- and Greygorry, being a vampire, was much hardier that most things. Hell, if I had hit Greygorry like that- and I almost had, earlier in the day- I honestly probably wouldn't have done that much more damage, in the grand scheme of things. That kid was Strong, with a capital S- and the fact that he was just that- a kid- made me all the more apprehensive. What did Sidonie want with him? I had no doubt that she did want something- Sidonie always wanted something- she was not the sort of person who did things for free- not that I blamed her for that, given what little I knew of her past, but when it was related to... one of mine, it couldn't be allowed to stand.

When we arrived in the kitchen, Hercules and I set Greygorry into one of the random armchairs that were sat around the table as if they were doing a poor impression of the dining chair that should be in their place, and I moved around behind him, to support his neck for him. Lisbet handed a blood pack from the fridge to Hercules, and then moved over to Leo with the other one.

It wasn't hard, as a vampire, to steal a single blood pack from a muggle hospital and duplicate it forever- but for whatever reason, after a while, the duplicated blood started to taste stale- and those vampires that didn't have magic of their own, obviously couldn't exploit this method. Because of this, there was always a market for blood suppliers- and an even bigger demand for ethical blood suppliers. After all, it wouldn't do for the Hunters to get on the trail of a major food source for the vampire community, and decide it was their 'righteous duty' to take it down- for 'the good of the human race'.

Hercules came back over to us, looking like he didn't quite know what to do with the blood bag, so I sighed, and held my hand out to him.

"Give it here." He handed it to me without question, and slunk off into the corner where Shari was- closer to Lisbet and Leo. I didn't blame him- they were all much more likable. I pushed my hand against Greygorry's neck lightly, maneuvering it into the right orientation and bracing it before I held the blood bag up to his mouth.

It took him a second, in order to be able to slip into Sensory Alert, but when he did, his fangs extended, and he pierced the plastic exterior of the bag. The scent of blood hit my nostrils, and I immediately halted my habitual breathing, so there was less of a chance of me being tempted to lose control- and snatch the blood bag away from him, for my own. As it was, my gums itched where my fangs threatened to extend, in response to the source of easily available blood, so close at hand.

As Greygorry started to take the blood into his body, I turned my attention to Lisbet and Leo's quiet argument in order to try to distract myself from my inescapable cravings. I couldn't lose control, here, now- not only would it be embarrassing, but it would show Lisbet exactly how badly things had gotten- how much worse I had become, without her tempering presence at my side.

"You need to heal." Lisbet was saying, and Leo shook his head, putting a hand out to keep Lisbet's extended blood bag from entering his personal space.

"And I can do that with animal blood." Lisbet's frown intensified.

"We don't have any animal blood on hand." Leo opened his mouth, but Lisbet continued talking, effectively cutting him off- something I knew she probably didn't like to do, but felt was necessary. "And if you went hunting, you'd jostle your hand, and risk accidentally healing it wrong." Leo grimaced.

"I don't have to feed to heal, I can just wait a few hours." Lisbet looked horrified by this, and honestly, I couldn't say I disagreed.

"And what? You're just going to stand there, perfectly still for hours, in pain?" Leo shrugged.

"I've had worse-" Lisbet cut him off.

"Which is exactly why you're not doing this, now." Leo's eyebrows furrowed.

"Lisbet-"

"Why won't you drink the blood, Leo? You've done it before." He was quiet for a second.

"I just don't want to." Lisbet sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of her nose in an open display of frustration.

"Tal vez simplemente no quiere beber a nadie más que a Elaine." Leo may not have understood most of what Hercules said, but he certainly understood her name- and in this context, he wasn't happy about its use.

"I don't know what you just said, Herc, but it had better have been completely innocent, and favorable." Hercules shrugged, smiling slightly.

"Solo sugerí que ella es tu comida favorita." Leo narrowed his eyes at his half brother.

"You know, I get this feeling sometimes, that you might be just as infuriating as Lisbet and Jerremyah, and you just do all of your teasing in Spanish." The grin he wore made me agree that this was probably the case.

"Leo." Lisbet ground out, and Leo winced.

"I only drink a small amount of blood at a time, and that's a full bag." She rolled her eyes at his feeble attempt at an excuse.

"The rest of us are more than happy to finish it off for you. Next?" Leo blinked, looking surprised that she had answered his concern so succinctly. He paused for a minute, looking almost like... almost like he might be... scared? For the briefest second, he glanced back at me- and maybe Greygorry- before he returned his full attention to Lisbet.

"Je ne veux pas qu'ils voient." See what? Who? Lisbet looked just as confused as I felt, but mostly hid it beneath concern.

"Dites-moi ce que vous voulez, je le réaliserai." She glanced at me past his shoulder, and subtly, I nodded. I wouldn't say it out loud like she was- not yet, at least- but I would do what I could to keep him safe, and, at the very least, comfortable.

"Je veux être seul, et je ne veux pas qu'ils sachent pourquoi." I felt my eyebrows furrow, but I did my best to hide it, just in case Shari and Herc thought to check my reaction. Greygorry probably knew what was going on- he could understand everything they were saying, after all, but he was distracted by the blood bag he was feeding on- or at least pretending to be.

"Why didn't you just say so?" She asked, and Leo continued to look worried. "If you're so worried about it, you can take some blood up to your room and drink it while you write your reply." Ah, she was going that route. Smart. Use the girl- it's certainly believable enough. He started to smile, then hesitated, looking nervous.

"Do you... Do you think you could help me with something?" Lisbet froze for a second, looking surprised, before her face softened an almost criminal amount, and she told him,

"Anything."
