None of the team could honestly blame the alien creatures that fell through the Rift for hiding from them. After all, being ripped away from everything they'd ever known and dumped somewhere unfamiliar, with no idea how they'd got there, had to be a frightening experience. Nevertheless, playing Hunt the Alien could be a pain, even when, like now, there was a clear trail of Rift energy to follow.
Whatever they were tracking this time had been moving from one hiding spot to another ever since its arrival, almost two hours earlier, and although it couldn't be far away, they had yet to catch a glimpse of it.
"Either it's very small, very fast, or both," Jack said when they followed the trail to a bush only to find whatever they were after had already left.
"Maybe it's invisible," said Tosh.
"Or just very well camouflaged," Ianto added.
"Maybe if you all stopped nattering and kept looking, we'd find it," Owen grumbled.
"As long as it can't fly or teleport, we'll catch up eventually." Jack wasn't worried; he was quite enjoying the game. "It can't keep going forever; it's bound to get tired, and when it does, we'll grab it."
