2602. Lucky Jack

"Hey, Ianto!" Jack came bounding out of his office, waving something, beaming with excitement. "You'll never guess what just happened!"

Ianto raised an eyebrow, glancing at Jack's hand. "You found a piece of paper?"

"What? No! Remember that raffle we entered at the Christmas fair?"

"Vaguely. I probably still have my tickets tucked in my wallet. Why?"

"I just got a phone call; they held the prize draw, and I won something! Isn't that amazing? I can't remember the last time I won anything; not sure I ever have, not in a raffle anyway. I'm not that lucky. I have to take my winning ticket to the school to claim my prize. Can you hold the fort until I get back?"

"Of course." Ianto smiled at his lover. "Congratulations. What did you win?"

"I have no idea, they didn't say. Guess I'll find out when I get there. See you in a bit!" With that, Jack swept out the door.

Forty minutes later, he was back, carrying a bag and looking rather less overjoyed at his good fortune.

"Well? What did you win?" Ianto asked.

Opening the bag, Jack revealed a pair of yellow wellies. "They're not even my size."
