Sometimes, Ianto would think back wistfully to the days when he and Jack only had one child. Meriel had been so well behaved, happy, and generally willing to do as she was told, whatever would gain praise from her daddies, and approval from the family Fluff. But she was a teenager now, out with her friends more often than she was home, and it was Jack's turn to work, which meant today, it being the school holidays, Ianto was in sole charge of eight-year-old twins and a three-year-old.
Because the weather was fine, he'd been hoping to take them to the park, but instead, here they all were, in town, shopping for new shoes. At least, that was the plan. So far, it wasn't going well.
Rosie was grizzling because she was in her stroller when she wanted to walk. Ianto had decided that would be the safest option, because the twins were such a handful. Predictably, they were being uncooperative. They didn't want new shoes, even though their trainers were falling apart; they wanted to go to the toy store. Keeping them all on track was a pain.
It was like trying to herd cats, an exercise in futility.
