"Oh Jaden... I love you so much," Alexis says. They were in the snow dressed in gear for the white, it was snowing, not too much, but too little. There foreheads were touching each others, Jaden's bangs were blowing in the wind just like Alexis's long hair. A little blush stained their cheeks.

Jaden cupped her cheek and an arm wrapped around her waist, he pulled her in close and kissed her on the lips.

Alexis's eyes suddenly snapped open and she looked around to see she was still in Jaden's bed, Jaden give off small snores next to her.

"Hm?" Alexis hummed tiredly with worried eyes, "Oh it was only a dream," she said with a sigh and a relieved look, "And what a dream it was!" she gave a quiet squeal.

She looked a Jaden's sleeping face and gave a small smile, "Hmm... Jaden's not awake yet. Best thing to do right now is not to bother him," she laid back down and snuggled into Jaden, "I'll just go back to sleep.

Jaden's Dream

"Ohhhhh Jaden I love you," Blair said as she hugged Jaden from the side.

"I love you too Blair," Jaden said with sheepish smile.

The two kissed before breaking apart.

"Ready?" Jaden asked ask he took his shirt off.

"Let's do it," Blair said, a deep blush covering her face.

"JADEN!" Yubel screamed.

Jaden shot up in bed and screamed, "WAAAAAAAAARGH! WHAT A NIGHTMARE!"

"JADEN! What's wrong!" Alexis wakes with a worried expression that quickly turned to anger at hearing at what Jaden said next.

"I WAS ABOUT TO "DO IT" WITH BLAIR!" Jaden shouted with a horrified expression.

"That dirty little slut! Where is she? I'm going to kill her!" Alexis said as she looked around angrily for Blair.

"Alexis, relax. It was only a nightmare," Jaden said with a soft look.

"Thanks for waking me up Yubel," Jaden thanked the duel monster

Yubel gave a smug smile, "You're welcome."

"Oh uh, hehe," Alexis said with a sheepish look, "Sorry about that."

Jaden frowned, "I'm sorry for waking you up Lex."

"Don't worry about it. I was up before you were a while back," Alexis said, then she grinned, "Besides, its 8:30. We should go do something."

"Good idea; let's check the school news... if we're able to," Jaden said.

Alexis rested her chin her hand, "Of course were able to. I'm a teacher here."

"Alright then," Jaden grinned, "Let's go."

Ten Minutes later

Jaden notices a poster on the wall as they walked to their classrooms, "Hey, check it out!"

Alexis smiled as she looked to Jaden, "What is it Jaden?"

"Chancellor Awaikta is giving a ball!" Jaden said, excited.

"Huh? A ball?" Alexis looked at the poster.

"Yeah," Jaden smiled, "You know, a huge fancy gathering where people come and bring their partner to dance."

Alexis smiled, "That sounds romantic!"

Jaden's bangs swang as he tilted his head to Alexis, "So you wanna go to it with me?"

"Jaden, of course I'll go with you," Alexis smiled lovingly.

"So it's settled! Now we just have to shop for our outfits," Jaden said.

Another voice spoke up, "Your going to be late to your classes if you don't get there now."

"Hey Silver," Alexis smiled.

Jaden turned around, "Sliver."

"Hey you two, but you should both get to class," Sliver said with her hands in her pockets.

"I guess," Jaden said, "See you later."

Alexis smiled, "See you later," Jaden kissed her on the cheek before leaving.

A Few Hours Later

"Hey Jaden," Alexis said.

"Hello love," Jaden said as he kissed Alexis.

"We should go to Domino City today since it's tonight, but the classes for Bio are doing labs today," Alexis said.

Jaden's face fell, "It's alright. I'll go with Sy or by myself."

"I could always go with you," Silver said, popping out of nowhere.

Jaden yelped at the sudden voice and Alexis gave a small jump, "Don't scare us like that."

Silver rubbed the back of her neck with a sheepish look, "Sorry, but you want to go to Domino City but Alexis can't go. I could always go with you. I have to get a dress for the ball."

"Sounds okay," Alexis said, looking to Jaden, "What about you?"

Jaden grinned, "Sure."

Silver grabbed Jaden's arm, "See you later Alexis, I won't do anything to you boyfriend. Come Jaden, the Helicopter that takes people back and forth from Duel Academy is going to leave soon."

Alexis smile wavered as Silver and Jaden ran off, she had a bad feeling, but she brushed it off, Silver was one of the kindest people ever. She wouldn't do anything to Jaden... Would she?

1 Hour Later: Domino City Mall

Domino Mall was more like a square, multiple shops outside the huge building and multiple shops inside.

"The ball starts TONIGHT, so we'll have to hurry," Jaden said with a worried look.

Silver clapped Jaden's back, "Come on and calm down, I know a great place."

40 Minutes Later

"Alright! Now I'm set for Awaikta's ball," Jaden said with his two finger motion, "The suit you helped he choose was amazing, thank you Silver."

"Your welcome Jaden," Silver said.

Jaden grinned, "So, what do you say we grab a bite to eat before heading back? I'm starving."

"Sounds good," Silver replied, her smile a little too wide, a little too bright. She steered him away from the main thoroughfare, towards a narrow, dimly lit alleyway. "There's a little cafe I know just around here. It's a hidden gem."

Jaden, preoccupied with thoughts of food, didn't notice the change in her demeanor. "Lead the way," he said, his stomach rumbling.

As they entered the alley, the cheerful facade of Domino City seemed to fade away, replaced by the oppressive shadows of the towering buildings. The air grew colder, and a shiver ran down Jaden's spine. He glanced at Silver, but her face was obscured by the dim light.

Suddenly, Silver stopped. Jaden stopped too, a puzzled look on his face. "What's up? Is this the place?"

Silver didn't answer. Instead, she stepped closer, her smile vanishing, her expression hardening. Before Jaden could react, she shoved him roughly against the brick wall, the impact knocking the air from his lungs. He gasped, his eyes widening in surprise and confusion.

"Silver? What are you—" he began, but his words were cut short.

In what seemed like a blink of an eye, a gleaming katana materialized in Silver's hand. One moment it wasn't there, and the next it was, the polished steel reflecting the faint light of the alleyway. She held the blade against Jaden's throat, the sharp edge pressing against his skin.

Jaden's eyes widened in disbelief, his breath catching in his throat. He stared at Silver, his mind reeling, trying to comprehend what was happening. "Silver… what… what are you doing?" he stammered, his voice trembling.

Silver's dual-colored eyes, usually so warm and friendly, now held a chilling glint. "I'm sorry, Jaden," she said, her voice devoid of any emotion. "But this has to be done."

Silver," Jaden pleaded, his voice trembling slightly, "what… what are you doing? This isn't funny." He tried to chuckle, but the sound came out weak and strained. He could feel the cold steel pressing against his throat, a stark reminder of the danger he was in. "Please, Silver, put the sword down." He met her gaze, searching for any trace of the friend he thought he knew, but her eyes were like ice. "Why… why are you doing this?"

For a moment, Silver's expression flickered. The chilling mask of indifference cracked, and a hint of something – pain, perhaps, or regret – crossed her face. It was gone in an instant, though, replaced by a renewed hardness. She pressed the blade a fraction closer, and a tiny bead of blood welled up on Jaden's skin.

"You… you wouldn't understand," she said, her voice low and tight.

"Then explain it to me," Jaden urged, his heart pounding in his chest. "Tell me what's wrong. We can talk about this." He kept his voice calm, trying to project an air of confidence he didn't feel. He had to reach her somehow.

Silver's breath hitched, and her hand holding the katana trembled almost imperceptibly. "You… you killed her," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

"Killed who?" Jaden asked, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Silver, I would never—"

"My mother," she interrupted, her voice rising in intensity. The ice in her eyes melted away, replaced by a burning rage. "When you were… when you were the Dark King," she spat the title like a curse, "you destroyed everything. You destroyed her."

Jaden's mind reeled. The Dark King… He'd heard whispers, fragments of stories about a past life, a dark version of himself. But it all seemed so distant, so unreal. "I… I don't remember," he stammered, his voice filled with confusion and fear. "Silver, I swear, I don't remember any of that."

"That doesn't change what you did," she hissed, her voice laced with bitterness. "My father… he never forgot. He never forgave. And neither will I." The katana gleamed in the dim light, a symbol of the vengeance she craved. "This… this is for my mother."

Jaden stared at Silver, his heart aching. He could see the turmoil raging within her, the conflict between her desire for revenge and the flicker of doubt in her eyes. He had to reach her, had to break through the wall of pain and anger she had built around herself.

"Silver," he said softly, his voice barely a whisper, "I know you're hurting. I know you think this is what you have to do. But… is this really what you want?" He kept his gaze locked on hers, searching for any sign of the friend he knew was still buried beneath the weight of her past. "Is this the only way?"

His words seemed to pierce through her rage. Her grip on the katana loosened, her knuckles whitening. The blade wavered, then clattered to the ground, the sound echoing in the stillness of the alley. The katana vanished as quickly as it had appeared, leaving Silver's hands trembling and empty.

The fight seemed to drain out of her. Her shoulders slumped, and the rigidness in her posture softened. Tears welled up in her dual-colored eyes, blurring her vision. She took a shaky breath, her chest heaving. Then, with a sob that seemed to tear from the depths of her soul, she collapsed against Jaden, her face burying against his chest.

"I… I'm so sorry," she choked out, her voice muffled against his shirt. The tears flowed freely now, hot and heavy against his skin. "I didn't… I didn't want to do this." Her hands clutched at his clothes, her body shaking with the force of her sobs. "He… he told me it was the only way. He said… he said it was what she deserved."

Jaden wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. He could feel the tension leaving her body, replaced by a deep, shuddering grief. He didn't say anything. He simply held her, letting her cry, letting her release the pain that had been festering inside her for so long. He understood now. It wasn't just about revenge. It was about a daughter's love for her mother, twisted and corrupted by grief and a thirst for vengeance.

After a while, the sobs subsided, replaced by quiet sniffles. Silver pulled back slightly, her eyes red and swollen. She looked up at Jaden, her expression a mixture of shame and apology. "I… I messed up," she whispered, her voice still thick with emotion.

Jaden gently wiped away the remaining tears with his thumb. "It's alright, Silver," he said softly. "It's alright. You were just… hurting." He knew that wasn't the whole truth, that there was more to the story, but he didn't push. He wanted to give her time, to let her come to terms with what had happened.

He glanced at his watch. "Hey," he said, trying to lighten the mood. "We should probably get back to Duel Academy. Don't want to miss the last chopper, or we'll be stuck here all night." He offered her a gentle smile, hoping to reassure her.

Silver nodded, a small, wavering smile touching her lips. She took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "Yeah, you're right," she said, her voice stronger now. "Let's go."

As they walked back towards the main street, Jaden couldn't shake the feeling that something was still wrong. He knew there was more to Silver's story, more than just a desire for revenge. He sensed a deeper darkness, a manipulation that went beyond her own grief.

He thought about the way she had spoken about her father, the fear and reverence in her voice. It was clear that he held a powerful influence over her. Jaden suspected that he was the one pulling the strings, using Silver's pain to fuel his own agenda.
